Jarvis would stick close curious about some of this story they were talking about and more of a tour was always nice. Jarvis had nodded kindly accepting Bings gracious offer to one day perhaps rest in this place. It was nice to have options and he felt... thought he'd never admit it happy to have people he could rely on for rest and kindness. In his life thus far before earth all he knew was people who when they gave you something a price tag often followed. Favor or otherwise...
"Guardian? Nice enough title I heard the boyo say that himself a bit back... Truth be told I was curious about what this fellow the namekian may have known about hte after life. I have... questions. I've seen what lays in hell.... Not a fan. Guess I was hoping to ask if he had any information that could help involving what else there is besides.... Gah! Whats it matter...." Grumbling a bit and lightly... blushing. He didn't like this feeling of reaching out to others. It made him feel weak... and a little odd. "Whats this Karinga? Challenges? Is this some set of trials or some more of that spiritual talk. Hmm? That spirit talk can be of some use at times.... I wouldn't mind hearing this..." He'd say crossing his arms as if asserting himself forward as if he was going to be sticking with them for bing showing Pieter about and around. Jarvis may have teetered on being a little flattering in his own small way of complimenting pieter or at least attempting a compliment about his way of speaking.
Jarvis wanted information on the after life. He didn't want to go to hell again and he knew it was possible he may die again even with new allies by his side when it was time to face red again. It was a hard thing to face returning to hell but he wouldn't allow himself to run. He couldn't allow himself to appear weak and asking directly though. Not so much that it was against pieter or bing but it was just how he'd lived for so long changing so much of late was one thing but some things were near impossible to change.

(Just gonna get this thread moving along! Post when ready, @bing!) Pieter listened to what the blue haired hybrid had to say. He was blushing in his inability to word his thoughts it seemed. When Pieter brought up his story of the Karinga challenges, Jarvis proceeded to ask what the Karinga had been, as well as the challenges. He seemed to be in a very questionable mood again... Was this how he had been usually? Pieter shrugged, as he responded, "Alright, then I shall begin at the beginning..."He took a deep breath and released, taking into account the tobacco cigar Jarvis was smoking. He pressed his bottom lip above the top, with a nod at the scent. Whatever he was smoking, it certainly had a strong and robust scent. It reminded Pieter to grab his own pipe from his room, before they moved on. "It's a long story, so let me get my pipe and tobacco... It'll help me keep level headed."He popped off the landing and went down the stairs behind the 3, landing at the bottom of the stairs like a cat. He sped into his room and rummaged through his bag, pulling out the wolf-head shaped pipe, a glass jar of the tobacco, and the sharp tool to clean the inside of his pipe that doubled as a leveling presser for putting the tobacco inside. He made his way back out and shot back up the stairs, having only taken just a few seconds. With the beginning of scratching and shooting air down the 7 inch, curved shaft, Pieter proceeded to explain the beginning of the story, "Alright, now that I got the pipe... Let me begin with whom the Karinga are. Don't worry if I fall behind as we walk. I'll catch up! Anyway, the Karinga are the tribe of Earthlings that stick to the ancient ways of life, protecting great pole of Korin, a mystical cat-like being that gives wisdom and power to those who are worthy. The Karinga have existed, and flourished well, in the Forest right below us for thousands of years. Along the way, they mingled and fought with many kinds of folk. Of course, among those folk were the Saiyans, and I do mean in both aspects. The exchanges had with all of these people had expanded the size of the Karinga tribe, as well as splitting it into 'sub-tribes,' one of them being where I am from: The Monkeys of the Karinga. Saiyans, Half-Breeds, Humans and others who were found worthy of joining our part of the Karinga. I, myself, am not a full-blooded saiyan, though if you were to measure it, I'd be far more saiyan than human..."Pieter's maneuvering of the items in his hands and mouth seemed to only slightly hinder his story telling, pausing his walk with the 2 to put the cleaning tool and jar in one hand and taking the pipe out in the other to bang it against his leg, knocking out a very tiny bit of black residue. He put the pipe on the tip of his tongue and moved quickly, to catch up to the two. (Gonna be taking this posting slowly, so you guys don't get overwhelmed with the 'Spirit Man's' words. )

Jarvis seemed to keep a ear listening but eyed the man curiously walking close behind. A tribe of protectors to this place? He still didn't quite see all the importance of this tower in the sky and the pole bellow. It had some neat things but so far he wasn't exactly sure on its possible sacred value. but that would perhaps be figured out in time but for now it was likely he wasn't gonna get those secrets out of his 'friend' here. but he'd still listen respectively to Pieter tell him of the tribe. The story of them and the half breed sub tribe. Kinda reminded him of the arcosian caste system only a more friendly type of caste. Not so much something like back home where you either felt like you were on top or under the guy on tops boot heel. "Allot of stuff centering around this place... Guess it hold more importance then I thought. Although I can't say I see fully myself why. No offense intended but its kinda a strange piece of architecture. " Jarvis liking more grounded types of places. But he recalled the strange carving on his flight up and wondered on the spiritual value of it all. Many races and people had their own form of gods and objects they held as divine and Pieter gave off that feeling of a man who had some deep thoughts and emotions of the like.
"Go on though... I wish to hear the rest of this story... Given it doesn't seem the namekian I came here after is returning any time soon." Jarvis would say softly walking along with them all wanting to catch the whole story at least before he'd likely take his leave. He wanted to speak to bing more as Pieter of the after life but before that could come to pass he'd likely have to wait till after the fight to came had passed. Even Jarvis knew it wasn't possible to seek out a way to steal his way into heaven next time if he died to VI. He'd save his planning and possible reaching out till then.

"And go on I shall," Pieter explained, shifting the pipe to his mouth and blowing into it, to blast any other residue. The inside of the shaft was probably filthy, but he didn't have anything to clean the inside of it. He paused for a moment, to open up the jar of tobacco and out a pinch, whilst making sure to hold on to the metal tool in between his fingers.
He sealed the jar and put the tool in the same hand, whilst he delicately pushed the tobacco down with his finger. It had to be able to create an ember, but not lose ventilation for air to fuel it. He poured out a tiny dosage of ki to get it started. Smoke billowed lightly from the pipe. The hunter proceed to breathe softly into the pipe, the ember becoming stronger and, eventually, self-sustaining. At that point, Pieter proceeded to take a puff into his lungs and release the smooth tobacco in a plume.
"There we are... Hey, wait up!"
Pieter sped after the 2, realizing he was falling behind again! He caught up, once more, in a flash, and apologized for falling behind before resuming his story.
"Now, throughout the generations, our people, and I mean Earthlings as a whole, developed more naturally in strength. It's due to intermingling with many others, and well, their naturally increased strength and mentality caused them to develop pride... A thing that has happened on many occasions with Saiyans and half breeds, like you and I Jarvis. Even the Karinga became lax in this, but they had realized this. So, the Karinga decided to create a set of trials, based upon the four basic elements of the world: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. One underlying rule had to be met, firstly: You must not use your immense strength to give yourself the advantage. Otherwise, you can not expand your mind's eye to the world the Great Serpent has created."
Pieter paused, taking another tobacco filled puff and releasing it through his nose. He then resumed, "The trial demands an immense amount of time in your life to understand it. At least 15 years of living in the wilds, on your own, unless of course circumstance demands you to live with someone else, animal or not. Each Elemental trial is put into a certain area of the world, and there is a consequence that the challenger will witness and receive, as they live in these areas. The deserts are the marks of fire, but none is more marked than the Fortune Teller's Desert... Jarvis, do you remember how I was when we first met," Pieter asked, looking over at Jarvis?
"The man I was at that time was one who was experiencing the consequence of Fire: Dehydration, being cooked alive by the craggy Earth and burning sun, as well as being diced by winds harsh on sun burnt skin... Our battle quickened that consequence tremendously, burning much of the important water in me, whilst I was searching for water. I had failed the challenge immediately because I used my immense power to survive, so having to start anew in a different part of the desert became my new mission."

Jarvis chuckled a bit when he mentioned inter mingling aiding the earthlings in their advancement in power and perhaps why they produced stronger and stronger people as time went on. Jarvis popping off with a little bit of spirit in his voice. "Sounds like these humans sure like to party... I mean I've been finding my own spirited lass or two here and there that like the whole saiyan and blue tail bit... So I suppose I can so how 'mingling' might have aided their gene pool here and there." Jarvis jesting with Pieter about his fun times he'd been having with earth women since he'd landed on the planet. Some human some saiyan and a few oddities in between. "Bah! Any earth Trial I could do with me hands tied behind me back. Immense strength? Like what not go super saiyan? Bah... Immense strength sure but its hardly some legendary thing like saiyans make it out to be. Just some other form of power that some of the old warriors I hear treated like some god send. Raving barbarians back on the planet of our monkey tailed brethren... would have been nicer if it was that planet that burned instead of the other one..." A hint of light malice for the saiyan empire in his words. From what he'd heard of the recent war among the whispers of souls and people after he returned as well. Of course he didn't truly wish death on all saiyans but he wouldn't shed tears if the empire fell either. he'd have no love loss for them.
Jarvis snorted a bit at the comment about living in the wilds for fifteen years. "Not for fifteen years mind you but I've lived on me own since thirteen among the worst scum and places in the arcosian empire... All the while being half blooded to a race that the empire despises and hates. I think I know far well what its like to live under such conditions. I widened my mind enough to survive Boyo...Er Pieter." Correcting himself. A flash of politeness even if he didn't realize it himself as if purposely trying to be a bit kind in words to this fellow as they continued on. The tower look out was truly a large place that seemed to have a nice amount of area to travel when in the grasp of conversation. Surprisingly easy to get lost to time so high up it seemed. Maybe it was actually a mystical place.
Jarvis scratched his cheek a bit for how they first met. Also feeling a tad bit of responsibility and a little sudden clammer up to his bragging and bravado. He seemed to look up and scratch his cheek as if unsure what to say not realizing he had ruined some sort of spirit ritual or great trial Jarvis clearing his throat for a moment or two. "Well,... I suppose at least going at it again one is more prepared? Heh... Yea I had no idea bout any of that though lad..." He'd say with a nervous giggle trying to pull away from that subject. Sooner or later He'd need to take leave anyway to return ot training for the fights to come. Training... He used to just live so carefree back when his power used to carry him fine enough. Things had sure gone crazy ever since he first got to earth. "I've already had my hard times though so I ain't wondering through the sands and dying of thirst. But if you have any other things to test ones soul and strength I don't normally turn down challenges." Being a little spirited talking with the man grinning with a large smirk.

"Not simply just that power, Jarvis. I mean putting yourself into the feet the old humans... The weak ones. And you must survive in the wilds for each of these trials for a good amount of your life," Pieter explained, puffing away. In hindsight, Pieter wasn't at all wondering if Bing was getting annoyed at the amount of smoke spewing from these two, as well as the mess the two were leaving behind with their respective ashes!
The hunter continued on, rising up the stairs with them as he spoke, "There is also the, 'Trial of Bone and Muscle.' Whilst all four challenges the individual parts, the elements challenge more towards their specific aspects than their brethrens' own. The, 'Trial of Bone and Muscle,' is one directed to the canyons. Finding refuge inside one of the many canyon faces, one challenges their bodies to climb up and down giant rock walls to go rest. The challenger, as a reminder, may never use their spirit power in these challenges, nor may they use anymore than that of your puny Earthling athlete... I think my tribe's chieftain, one of the successful challengers, labeled this power level at 3..."
Pieter scratched his chin at this thought, as he focused on recalling the challenge of 'Earth.' He muttered, "I believe the specific canyon was one that lead to the oceans, near some ancient castle South of the Central Capital... I think it was called 'Pilaf's Canyon.' A riverbend goes through it, providing food and water to those who live in the canyon. Plants sprout there, as well as trees on the cliff faces, but they make the rock walls shift and treacherous, despite their mighty roots inside them. Day in and out, the Chieftain explained that his bones were always en route to snapping from all their usage to just reach his home above the river."

"That sounds a little extreme. I spend my life trying to get strong to push back when the world pushes me... Not weaken myself to prove something. Keep in mind test or not its usually the guy with the bigger stick that rules in much of the galaxy. BUT... I suppose I can see the strength in doing such a quest. But you'll forgive me if I'd prefer to spend whats left of my youth in more enjoyable ways." Jarvis sounding as if he'd prefer more... abrupt challenges. Years though he would not commit to being weak. It just wasn't in his blood to let his guard down like that for such a long time span.
He'd smack a fist in his palm as if he had a idea or just realized something chuckling at the idea of bone and muscle. Chuckling out as he'd snap his fingers pointing at Peiter. "Ok not sure if it counts but that one I'd say I could do... done even. When I was a lad I used to to have to survive in the frozen wastes of Arcose. I had to climb those damned ice mountains at times just to get back when that bitch threw me out there. The quim tended to be harsh like that cause saiyan blood and all. Guess she wanted to be harder on me. But I digress you try wearing armor and climbing a mountain made of ice... Its like a numbing experience! I remember peeling skin to ice a few times... But regardless I'd say it still counts!" Speaking partially joking now. As if it was the same thing but his spirits... changing. At lest for the time it seemed some of his worry and doubts were fading as he conversed with these two as if friends. Jarvis not realizing how casual he was being at the moment. A smile on his face a little more pure then his usually plotting snake like grin.
He'd raise a brow as the bit continued on one man who complected his apparent challenge. Jarvis giving a bit of a curious look with raised brow as if considering what he'd heard. "Must have had balls of solid rock... To take on a mountain without flight or other things to ensure better ending. I was kinda forced into my things as a boy so doing things that willingly is another story all together."

(Sorry about this wait! I got immensely busy and worn out from work. Let me get this out for ya.)
"Indeed. The challenges, themselves, are not a simple thing. They are a form of training, as well," Pieter explained, "Though, compared to your life experience, this is an act of choice and not slavery. After all, it is for those who need to be 'rooted,' if you understand by the term."
He scratched his chin, muting himself for a moment to think on what else there had been. He explained the challenge of Fire, as well as the Challenge of Earth, meaning he had the challenges of Water and Air to explain.
"Then there is the challenge of Water... Of the challenges, this is the most dangerous. You must live at sea, on a boat or raft, your choice. Its consequences are the realizations of the needs of water, air, food, and warmth. It challenges those living on the ocean with tidal waves the size of size of sky scrapers, whirlpools, and hurricanes, all ironically caused more-so by the Air than the Water. Sustaining yourself at the ocean is the most trifling, for one must locate islands, to fix their ships and recover their legs. The chieftain of my tribe said that when he competed with this challenge, his legs became like gelatin and he was nearly swallowed by the sea on multiple occasions. Fresh Water became scarce, as well as a way to keep dry without becoming a smoked pig in the sun! Earth's consequence is that it makes the water of the sea salty and unsafe to drink. It induces even greater thirst in those who drink it! It was in storms, my chieftain explained, that one could obtain fresh water! But, that is also one of the ploys Water takes. As for food, it is plentiful in the form of fish! Yet, without fire, most fish caught cannot be eaten, if you do not know which is able to be eaten raw, and which is poisonous... So you can say that, even with the giant monsters of the deep, that even the tiniest particle fish could kill you! And that, there, is fire's consequence within the realm of Water's Challenge."

Jarvis seemed to roll the idea in his head. Survival at sea sounded truly filled with many a horror. Of course only while restricted other wise he had no worry of the sea and its dangers. He could hold his breath for longer then most those weaker species if he needed to but if restricted to be like them he could see it as easily being a death sentence. He thought one could relate it perhaps to the idea of being trapped in space. Those short intervals occasionally when either alone or in group when ships had occurring problems from attack or mechanical problems. Derelict ships or such stranded happenings could leave you low on supplies and in some cases even oxygen pending the ship model. Although usually in those cases it was either a quick save or you'd feel the walls closing in on you as you slowly accepted the inevitable. Jarvis only ever being on a few for small break downs but had heard stories of the ghastly things people can go through in such cases. Or worse the stories of what people found of the after math alone. "Some of these tests would be more likely to drive a man mad then to any form of power or enlightenment. M'thinks quite a few would fry the brain before opening it up." Skeptical of the chances of actually success on such ventures.
He'd sigh a bit scratching at his chin trying to consider further why these tests would push on to such a point of mental destruction. Sure though only those who chose to take them would experience this but he was still having his mind wrapping around it. Some higher purpose or higher meaning of purpose or principle. But you couldn't take those kinda things to the bank. You can't eat principle. Or keep warm with it and out of the rain. "Heh I suppose we all have our ways of finding our power I suppose." Complimenting lightly and at least being kind. Waiting to hear the final test before likely taking his leave soon. The conversation having for the time at least soothed his mind.

(Gah! Sorry! I forgot was up DX!)
Pieter listened to Jarvis' laughter and he honestly laughed in agreement!
"Aye, it does, doesn't it? However, I can tell you that the man who leads our tribe is one of the sanest men I know! Now, where was I... Ah, the last element trial: Air. This is the most confusing of the four, but it seems to co-relate with life in the highest mountains in Mt. Paozu," Pieter replied, enthusiastic with this story of his! It was something that stuck to him, despite his whole 'existential problem.' It was, now these days, more along the lines of the fact these men challenged Nature's harshest environments and succeeded.
He puffed out a couple of clouds of smoke, as he stared at the markings all along the ceilings. It was as though they, too, were telling of epic stories long past. He explained, in a slightly distracted manner, "I suppose... I suppose Air's Challenge was the challenge of surviving an environment that, at one point, would be as hot as a desert, but then suddenly changing into winter and freeze over. Earth is a nasty, but needed friend there, as the winds are fierce... It's a tad difficult to really describe Air's Challenge. High above the world, Air becomes thin and your lungs must adjust continuously going up and down the cloudy landscape without falling off the mountainside..?"[/font]
Pieter sighed, frowning as looked down in shame. He honestly didn't recall the challenge all that well. He did recall something about the tower of Korin, which he explain half-hearted, "There was also something about climbing the Great Korin Totem beneath us as a, 'basic fulfillment' of the Karinga's Air challenge. Yet, for all its praise, the Totem climb is not so difficult as one would perceive... Hmm..."
(Alright, your turn, @jarvis!)

Jarvis realized it was getting about that time to return to his training. Red wasn't gonna wait forever and he wanted to try an ensure he lived this time at least long enough to give the bastard what for. He listened to the last test as well but found it odd... At least until the part of climbing the tower wondering about how one would survive so high. But maybe for being reduced the power of a normal human he could see how breathing at such a height would be difficult. "Ah! Well... I still prefer flying then climbing. That would take far to long for my tastes. I don't have anything to relate to that one sadly. I've been able to fly since I learned at a young age. So unless I was weighted down the whole climbing ordeals never got to me. Heh but I'm gonna have to meet that man you spoke off to believe he is really sane to go through all this! More power to you given you said you were taking em on? Good luck on that mate but I've been killed once already so I'd rather not dehydration or some drop to earth be what does me in next time." He'd shrug the walk had taken them nearly all throughout the place and by now Jarvis had a basic idea of the groundwork of the place. Knowing somewhat how to get his way around at least.
"Good story though. I mean not gonna judge your people and your tests mate. You are both... good people. I suppose if this all ends well I may hope to hear another story in the future. Oh and Bing... I intend to take you up on such offers. This place is by far more comfortable it appears then any place else I could take lodgings in. I expect you two may be seeing allot of me in coming days. Heh... I suppose if anything I do upsets you all in the future you'll know where to find me at least." Giving a little wave and looking as if he was making his way out a friendly smile upon his lips. Jarvis had killed stolen and fought for various things on this planet. Not all good but not all bad either such as what took his life prior. Those he'd killed had all been the lower of life's form anyway criminals but he'd only done so for his own gains. But he had to admit... Something about that dog eat dog way of thinking was slowly fading. Even teh man he was... People like this after he'd made a arse of himself still showed kindness. Even if he didn't outright say it. He was grateful to them. His... friends Perhaps. "Till later then though. Gotta make sure I don't get burnt to a crisp again ya know! Chow!" And with that he'd be out the door and into the skies. Soaring away his mind lingering on what he would think of bing and pieter in the future.
[Exit and PL please. Rather enjoyed the tribe stories x3]

Jarvis seemed impressed enough with the story, even mentioning that he would want to meet the chieftain and see if he was truly sane or not! He then also mentioned that he had been killed before and explained that he and Bing were good people. It was a load of information that he had just dumped on Pieter and before Pieter could even ask, he had made his way out one of the windows of the Lookout to the open sky. Pieter rushed to the window, shouting out, "What the heck is that supposed to mean, Jarvis?! What do you- Damn it, he's too far away."
He rose his hand to the pipe, and thought, "Is death not a permanent thing..? This will have be added to the list of question I have, if I ever meet the Great Serpent..."
Pieter didn't realize it, but Bing seemed to have left him behind again, but at this given time, the hunter was left to think about this thing in his life... What would this mean for Pieter's future?
