History:
Well, to know about Reiko Akoga, you have to know about a human born Reiko Hiraga. Her own life started fairly ordinary except for who she was related to. Her younger brother Koji had shown immense genius from an early age, receiving a doctorate in robotics at the age of sixteen. Although her parents were loving and never asked of her to be like koji , she still felt inferior to and jealous of him. However, because of this, she did push herself, becoming somewhat above average athlete and academic in school. She became a teenager, however, she began to realize that Koji saw her as his portal to life and how it was to be a child, and began to open up to him.
With pleading form Koji that she could be much more, Reiko eventually became a clerical track worker (aka. Office lady or office flower) for a large company. Her experience was like that of many office ladies (realize that this is more of Japanese cultural thing), her work was little less than menial, there were no promotions in sight, and she was subjected to several cases of sexual harassment. Unlike classic al intentions of the job, she wasn’t married of to one the execs quickly, continuing this job until she reached the age of twenty six. It was during this time as an office lady that Koji’s career also went down hill. A colleague stole his plans for a revolutionary new type of program that let computers greater emulate human thought patterns; Koji stood firm, accusing his colleague of plagiarism. However, nobody believed Koji, believing him to simply be envious, and so he began to be scoffed at the scientific community, eventually losing his doctorate.
Reiko eventually found work again, becoming a guard a respectable museum for a time. In retrospect, she wasn’t very good at this job. One night, she caught two thieves trying to steal a priceless diamond. One of the thieves tried to sweet talk here, but she was adamant in that they would have to go through her in order to steal. Reluctantly, they did, rather easily. That was her first close encounter with martial arts. Surprisingly, she wasn’t fired, and it turned out that a number of other high class thefts had been taking place about that time, with the police assuming they were all done by the same criminals. Regardless, she couldn’t get that one thief out of her head.
Now, only the stupidest criminals go back to the scene of the crime, but the two thieves did. And although they did steal a few paintings, it seems there real goal was to nab Reiko. The one that introduced himself as Jiraiya had a charm she couldn’t resist. She quit her job the following morning, and joined the Satan Legend school of martial arts, with common knowledge at the dojo at the time being that she was invited by the Akoga Brothers, Yasahagoro and Jiraiya, who were students of respectable power. Both were able to use ki and fly, albeit at fledgling levels, though Yashagoro, the elder brother, was unmistakably the stronger fighter. It was, however, not known that they formed two thirds of an infamous band of thieves eventually known to the media as The Phantoms. Within a few years, Reiko began to show promise as a fighter in the Satan Legend school, along with a great admiration for Mr. Satan and belief in the tall tales of his exploits, and eventually married Jiraiya. Steadily, Yasahgoro was being caught up with in martial arts prowess by the other Phantoms.
One day, however, The Phantoms came to an end. On one heist, they were anticipate and met by a martial artist that was able to outclass all three of them, and they all barely got out alive. Shortely afterwards, it seemed as if Yasahgoro snapped, and after a long struggled, murdered. Allegedly, Reiko and Jiraiya were crushed by weights in a training accident. Technically, Reiko died then and there, her soul even reaching the afterlife.
And it is here that we meet our Reiko. Unable to deal with his sister’s death, Koji scaned her brain, uploading all of it into a large computer. For about five years, the new Reiko lived as a part of this computer, and although there were some issues at first, especially in her trying to comprehend her newfound existence, the very essence of who Reiko was had been revived, duplicated into a new sentient being, a new soul. While Koji was initially content with how he revived his sister, she begged him for more, particularly a body, one that could get her revenge on Yasahgoro. Koji struggled to find the funding for a such a project, having lost his standing in the scientific community, and resorted theft and the black market, aided by the knowhow of his disembodied sister. The end result was that he got something that would certainly get the job done, but he wasn’t able to make it perfectly human like.
And so, Akogare in her new robot body, was able to hunt down Yashagoro. In an attempt of mercy, she only shot off his right arm, letting him get away; she doesn’t know his current whereabouts or if he is still alive. Afterwards, Akogare has left her life of crime for more noble pursuits with her new powers. She is still trying to make a name for herself in the martial arts world for sure, but she is had also frequently gotten work as a professional body guard for a number of politicians and celebrities.
