I believe androids are still very underrated, specially considering their transformations and even their abilities which are a bit meh in my opinion. So I'm proposing a revamp of the race, which plays out a little with the concept of zeni to make the race a bit more unique in comparison to all others.
CREATING AN ANDROID
You have to choose a type of android:
- Unlimited Energy Model
- Energy Absorption Model
- Cyborg
Androids have fewer abilities than usual, but have access to the android shop. The abilities you start with depend on the type of android chosen.
Unlimited Energy Models have a nearly infinite energy supply and will never suffer from the strains of fatigue. Due to the fact they don’t have a ki-signature, they cannot be sensed by scouters or ki sensing techniques.
Energy Absorption Models have pads in their hands they can use to drain energy off a target, to replenish their own. Every post they manage to successfully grab and hold someone down, they take 5-10% of the opponent’s pl and add it to their own. No other actions are available during this. Both the reduction and the boost are temporary, lasting for the thread only. They cannot be traced via scouters or ki sensing, but can be indirectly tracked by sensing the rapidly dropping ki of their victims.
Cyborgs can have any one ability from their original race which will be treated as a full ability, rather than a hybridized one. They have a 20% discount on any items in the android shop.
Independently from the type of android chosen, all androids have the following disadvantage regarding their transformations: aside from the pl requirement, they must also pay a 500-1000z fee to attain any transformation in order to obtain the materials required for the modifications.
Any android may opt to start at the lowest starting pl available and use the remaining bonus they would get from their history/BP as zeni to buy upgrades from the android shop.
ANDROID SHOP
- Built-In Weapon: The android may have a built-in weapon (such as 16’s cannon arm, for instance). This can be bought 3 times, each giving you access to a tier of a basic offensive technique reflecting the useage of your weapon of choice.
Costs 500z for tier 1
Costs 1000z for tier 2
Costs 1500z for tier 3
No skipping allowed. Must buy each tier in sequence.
(Basically, you get to buy up to 3 technique slots that are to be applied to the same technique three, which is based of a weapon. For example, if you would have an in-built cannon in your arms like 16, you would have the Hell's Flash technique which would do either 33%, 66% or 100% pl damage depending on how much tiers you bouy for the weapon in question.)
- Propulsors: Basically, it gives the android access to a flight technique that doesn’t require spending a technique slot on.
Costs 500z
- Calibration: This allows you to increase the boost of a single transformation you possess by +[x1] permanently. Can be bought at most 3 times per transformation. Since Overdrive is listed as a special technique, rather than a transformation, it is obvious that this won’t affect said upgrade.
Costs 1.000z
(Androids get the short stick transformation wise. I believe this is an alternative to make up for their lack of transformation power)
- Durability: By reinforcing the material with which the android is made with, it ups their current defensive pl by +[x1].
Costs 2.000z
(I didn't change Durability at all, other than forcing you to pay for it in the first place. Honestly speaking, I think that +[x1] is nothing and all races that earn a version of that racial ability should get it revamped somehow. In the first android transformation, that translates to a x1.16 (16%) increase. In the top tier transformation, it's a x1.025 boost (+2.5%. The pl increase is minute if you consider any scenario other than the detransformed one)
- Internal Scouter: Works like a normal scouter, but since it’s an in-built device, it cannot be targeted by techniques and destroyed like the common version of the item.
Costs 600z
- Overdrive: Works as the Overdrive ability, giving the androids said special technique but requires zeni to be paid first. It will add a +[x3] to current pl, stacking over transformations. Every use reduces it by -[x1]. Once it reaches +[x0], the cost must be paid again to recalibrate it to +[x3].
Costs 2.000z
to first obtain it
Costs 1000z to recalibrate it to +[x3]
- Reconstruction: Works like the reconstruction ability.
