Jeska heard her name called, summoning her to the arena floor. Not one for show the warrioress lifts into the air, sailing to her designated side. Touching down gently, arms crossed over her armored chest she was perfectly at ease. The crowd assembled around the fighting area did not bother her in the least. Many times during her training she had an audience, watching and assessing her performance. The difference was she had cared then, these creatures...mostly Earthlings meant nothing to her. As the Retainer of a King she lived on a daily basis at the side of superior being, all of these common folk were no more significant than livestock to the female.
Rolling her neck some in preparation she stands at the ready, waiting for her opponent to make his way to the ring. Statistically she had a high chance of fighting against an Earthling herself. Such a creature wouldn't be worth her time really, but the quicker she was able to defeat him or her the faster she would advance to the next round. With eight fights set it meant there would only be four rounds including this one, hopefully she would not be matched up against Zasho until the finals, let the world see the strength of their people as they two stood above the rest. There was a prize that came with the title of champion, but she cared little for it, showing her strength and proving her superiority was what she strove for.
Reaching up with her right hand she activates her scouter, wanting to assess her opponents power signature at the start of the fight. Once she knew it the device was no longer of use and would be tossed aside so no damage would come to it during the match. Focusing forward now she waits, not even flinching at a cat-call she hears from behind her, something about the tightness of the bodysuit she wore under her armor. Hmph, Humans...pathetic creatures.

Akio Callahan grins as his name is announced through the sound system of the tourney. With a yelp of childish excitement he kicks up into the air and heads towards the arena, not waiting to see who his opponent was. Little did he realise the confrontation could put him far far closer to the truth about his importance to upcoming galactic drama.
All that our Crane wants is for a good fight.
He hits the arena with a toc sound as blue boots touched the ground. He was wearing the red and blue gi commonplace to the human martial cause since eons past, but beneath his shirt he wore the a heavy jewel left to him by Zasho I and kept by Pota, the father of Wolfbane. He did not know the significance if the gem, but Jeska surely would should she find out about his jewel.
The hybrid glances up to see his opponent for the first time, just as her scouter would be sizing up his power-level, still a currently foreign concept to the halfbreed.
He gulps.
In her own way he found her beautiful. She had the physique of a beautiful Neanderthal warrior, his cheek bones and powerful, streamlined muscle, an Amazonian kind of agility to her. It took him a second to realise she was a Saiyan, and no doubt one of import to have taken a place in this tournament. Akio was one of the strongest Earth-borne and had shown a display of ability to earn his place. He doubted whether the Saiyan's selection process had been so easy.
She was clad in the armour of her people, and on male or female it would have suggested something primitively sexual and from Akio's perspective towards Jeska this was confirmed. He clears his throat, shaking his head free of such banality before smiling at his foe.
"Hey there! If you're done checking me out with your device, I look better without the tint." He chuckles, winking. "Perhaps if I impress you enough we could go for drinks, miss...? I didn't catch your name."
