(edit: Korudo(Ora) you are well aware of the rules, no swearing at people or being rude, come on man - by all means disagree about something, but do it in a respectful and rule-abiding manner. A warning has been applied)
I already made my displeasure known to Axel about the state of this thread, which I feel is making light of a serious and important discussion with a horribly biased strawman of a poll. (Additionally, having excluded their points/comments from cbox which should have been provided necessary context and discussion value to the thread).
To expand upon that, Axel: I know this was set up very quickly and casually, but the expectation is to construct a neutral/unbiased framework and then present your case(for, against, or both) in the body of your post, rather than framing it in a way that manipulates the audience to favour a particular option. This is important because we want a fair consideration of the system to be given to all involved.
For the actual topic itself:
Corpse destruction may well be a mechanic we wish to have brought into play, indeed the purpose of this discussion is to consider and reach a verdict on if such a thing should be the case, and how such a dynamic should be applied. As such, lets have a look at it -
Involuntary Corpse DestructionPurpose: Having considered the option myself, I see absorption denial (and perhaps revival denial, if ever a 'revival technique' is introduced) as the only two aspects this would touch on. In all other circumstances, a corpses condition is entirely irrelevant, death is death and unless you're some kind of necrophiliac nothing more will be going on from there with the body in question. (no, PG-13, don't even go there XD)
Canon examples: of ki obliterating a body include:
Spirit Bomb Killing Movie villians(Such as Slug)
Cell's Self Destruct killing Goku
Perfect Cell against Gohan's SSJ2 Father-Son Kamehameha
Kibito being blasted by Dabura
Kid Buu's death at the hands of the Galactic Spirit Bomb.
What benefit does this give? For the one on the receiving end: Their agency in the situation is unchanged.
For the attacker it would have the following results: It would make Bio-android's (and Majins) transformation harder to obtain, though ultimately just result in them flavouring their attacks in a different manner. This means only those not aware of the OOC rules would fall prey to this mechanic, where as those that do know, due to their IC knowledge of needed to not obliterate their target, would be within reason to hold back in such a manner.
------
Purpose: Your fate being at the Saga victors discretion is designed to combat the sort of metagaming currently being considering(and which also occurred in a previous death-battle, when a suicide was executed in an attempt to prevent the opponent from being able to absorb), and I believe we're all mature enough to acknowledge that is not a derogatory comment or an insult, it is simply the situation at hand:
Dissatisfied with the outcome of absorption, he is trying to render his corpse unusable by purposely allowing himself to die, (having admitted he has many ways of surviving the blast but plans not use them), because if allowed this opportunity is a way to manipulate the outcome in his favour without having to secure victory in the fight itself.
Canon examples: of ki leaving someone defeated but not obliterated
Piccolo jumping in front of Nappa's Blast
Frieza being Blasted By Goku after being given Energy
(Entire planet blowing up on cut-in-half Frieza)
Imperfect Cell Blasting Piccolo and then tossing him in the water
Fat Buu Blasting Gohan and Shin(shortly after first being released)
What benefit does this give? For the one on the receiving end: (as noted above) Their agency in the situation is unchanged.
For the attacker it would have the following results: It allows the winner of the proper battle, as victor in the saga, to then choose if they want to spare the persons life, leave them on the brink of death, or indeed kill them(including absorption), meaning they don't have to worry about 'accidentally' killing someone when they weren't planning to during a battle, or having their opponent purposely commit suicide to rob them of a specific victory condition.

Anyway, it's very late so I have to run, I'm unsure if I will be on at the usual lunch time tomorrow, but if I don't get a chance then weekend is next so should get a little time then. Either way... keep this and all general such discussions calm and constructive, yesterday was more than enough excitement XD (and is probably already going to take up my weekend trying to sort out from this situation who is 'quitting forever', who 'can't remember where they parked their car', who 'needs a shoulder to cry on', and who 'might have fallen pregnant, and
diabetes is the father'.)
