Name: Ryoku
Alias: Just goes by Ryo
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Appearance:
Personality: Ryo's personality could definitely be considered a rollercoaster. His mind works in mysterious ways, and his personality evidently adapts to whatever situation he is in. Though one aspect of him never falters; His courage. He is a very brave a noble human, prompting to give himself up in any situation to save ALMOST anyone. Now that is not to say he likes anyone and everyone. It doesn't matter much due to the fact that he very much speaks his mind in any and every situation, which is a 50/50 situation for him. It almost always results in someone immediately liking him or disliking him. That being said, Ryo does have a knack for making friends with people, despite him being very blunt in his everyday conversations. He is very strong-willed, peculiar and outgoing. Ryo has been regarded as a very very 'free-spirit', which has lead to him becoming quite the reliable ally for anyone who gains his trust. Again, this goes along with his courage; he sticks by his friend no matter what. His loyalty as well as valor never stammers. Though, with certain people it can be quite challenging to gain his trust and acceptance, once you gain it, you do not lose it.
Being young, it often leads to Ryo being very naive, believing almost any and every thing someone will tell him. Because of this 'fault', it has led to him being deceived more than a couple times as a child, resulting in him acquiring a bad sense of direction. Kids as well as immature adults took advantage of his ingenuous demeanor and have given him wrong directions when he asked for them (Since he was a paper-boy in his younger years). That's one of the few quirks that makes Ryo who he is; The fact that he has a conspicuous lack of orientation. This leads to him completely turning himself around in situations and basically going the opposite of the way he actually needs to go. This coincides with his adventurous attitude. Ryo is always ready for adventure and exploits. But, again his adventurous attitude results in him seeking escapades, but getting terribly lost along the way.
Despite all of his childish-related characteristics, when it comes down to the wire, Ryo can be very stern when/if the conditions call for it. If his friends or loved ones are harmed or criticized in a derogatory way, he becomes very monstrous in terms of how he acts. He does not play his normal 'games' when states like this arise, and it's safe to assume that you should not do this. Due to his loyality, it is very common for him to be the first to jump to a friends side when they are in danger, further supporting the fact that he can be very reliable. This sometimes leads to his double-edged sword characteristic.. selflessness. He often throws himself into situations headfirst in order to protect or defend the ones he thinks are innocent at the time. This can earn him great rewards and revere him as a hero, but also could mean the end of his life if he isn't care.
One of his most remarkable traits, probably the one opponents most recognize is his aforementioned determination and persistence. Once Ryo has a goal or objective in mind, it is almost impossible to stop/deter him from it. Though he doesn't go as far as sacrificing others or his friends for these goals, he can, depending on the objective in mind, give himself up for it. Examples of this would be him giving his life to protect a friend, which goes hand in hand with his selflessness. He does overlook several important factors when goals are on his mind, such as his own physical health, which can be hazardous at times.
Ryo loves fighting or sparring in general, a trait that has almost cost him his life at times. The stronger the opponent, the more insistent and intrepid he becomes. He finds that battling stronger opponents only resolves him in training harder to become the best, which in his eyes, "Leads to finding even strongers opponents! Ya see? The adventure never ends!"
All in all, Ryo is a fun loving human who only wants to have fun and adventure out into the world.
History:
Starting Planet: Earth
Ryo was born and raised in the South Capitol. His father was a very unqualified, yet proud Martial Artist. His parents were divorced, and his mother had taken up residence in the West Capitol, being one of the 'big-wigs' in the Capsule Corporation. Due to this, Ryo was no stranger of long car rides and basic traveling, seeing as he had to shift from one parent to another every month. Despite his father being a complete joke in terms of martial arts, he was thoroughly impressed by his dads endeavors to impress his young son. During his younger years, he took up a paper route while in West Capitol with his mother every other month. His schedule was basically; Training and school when in South Capitol with his Father, and paper route when in West Capitol with his mother. Because of how naive Ryo was as a child, the immature population in West Capitol usually gave him wrong directions whenever he asked, which has led to a poor lack of orientation in the present. His love for adventure had come from his father always dragging (willingly) him along on escapades around the world. From the desert in the west, to the frigid mountains of the north, Ryo had seen it all as a young child. Ryo's father knew he wasn't going to be able to teach his son more than he knew, so he took the opportunity to show off new mentors and special martial artists to him along their travels. Now, as a child, Ryo was normal. He was a normal human, ordinary strength, absolutely no control over ki or anything of the sort. This was mainly due to his father possessing no control over it as well. He showed Ryo off to these trainers in order to get them to teach Ryo the basics of it all. The basics of Ki manipulation.
This did very little for the young Ryo, as he wasn't even able to summon a common ki blast. As the years went on, Ryo just wasn't getting it. No matter how many people tried to teach him, no matter how many hours his father made him study various books and tournaments, Ryo could not attain the basics powers that a Martial Artist needed to succeed in the world. He could easily observe the disappointment grow over the years in his fathers eyes, and sought out to change that. During a late summer night, Ryo packed his bags, and left. He was determined to show his father that he'd become the best Martial Artist in the world, and if not the best, then damn near close. He specifically left a note for his father depicting the words, "I will get stronger dad. I promise. I'll do everything I have to to become the best. To make you proud. I will become a Legend." Ryo set off for the climate he was least used to; The Frozen North. There were plenty of barren fields and wastelands in the North to provide excellent training grounds. At the age of 11, Ryo had begun his solo training. This evidently led no where as he had no idea what the hell to even do. He trained and trained. He fought and fought. He survived. He strived to be the best, even though his grasp on things were far from the latter. He had fought off wolves, eagles, falcons, bears, dinosaurs. All to prove that he could make something of himself, something more than just a 'paperboy'. That's all he was thought of as back home. Where as all his friends could provide a basic ki-blast, all he could do was throw a roll of paper four yards. He spent years out in the frigid cold, fighting and clawing to improve. He was either going to get better, or he was going to die out there. Like humans do... he adapted to his environment. Although he never ever got used to the cold, he got used to the training. He was finally starting to pick up on Ki manipulation by the age of 14. It had taken him three years to learn to fire a ki-blast that made a quarter-sized dent in a rock. Little did he know, this one small step would take him further than he could have ever imagined.. it led to where he was today. He had taken the initiative to throw himself to the wind in order to achieve greatness. And while he is still not the best fighter in the world... He's damn near persistent enough to contend for it.
Offensive-
Full Power Energy Wave [N1]- Ryo gathers a globe of purple energy within the palms of his hands, firing it off in a single, thick beam of violet energy.
Flashpoint BANG! [UP2]- Ryo charges ki within the earth below before flying into the air. He takes his index finger and middle finger, flicking them towards the sky in order to erupt a massive explosion from the earth below.
Nova Star [UP2]- This is one of Ryo's, if not his only Signature Move. He charges a ball of blueish-white ki in the palm of his right hand, allowing it to engulf his hand. He can either keep the sphere around his fist to augment his punches, or fire it off as a massive sphere of energy that is capable of causing extreme destruction.
