It had been several weeks since his final battle with the relentless Saiyan, Kassava in the Bamboo Forest. It was there that he had met a new ally, and possible friend; The human, Gochen. Time flew fast, and since then, he has vowed to attain a new level of strength in order to actually pose a level of assistance on a local group he had discovered, dubbed ‘Z-Fighters’. The Namekian had heard stories of their marvelous efforts and turbulent task to protect the world at all costs. Honestly, that was right up his alley. Astro never really was one to play the ‘evil guy’. He had always dreamed of being ‘the hero’. The Z-Fighters gave him a perfect opportunity. At his current strength, he wasn’t anything shy of a peanut. Joining the group of mystic saviors would be pointless if he had to constantly rely on the strength of others, even though he wasn’t against his. It must’ve been his Namekian pride shining through here.
The search for new and exciting power had brought the yellow Namekian to the ominous Ginger Town marveled for it’s supposed ‘horror theme’. The shady, eerie clouds looming over the establishment stuck out like a sore thumb, and really dampened the mood for travelers. All of the buildings were rather dull and unembellished, and the residents were nothing to gawk at either. For the bulk of the time he was there, from when he entered until now, the townsfolk shot him gnarly, grim, beaming scowls that shot into him like daggers. Although, he was rather used to this by now. Humans usually shot him antagonizing looks wherever he went. It’s mainly the reason for why he respects the ones who don’t greatly.
The soil that the town was built upon was absolutely dreadful. This place was definitely not somewhere you’d want to go on vacation to. Despite the overall hospitality and look of the place, it was rumored that he could pick up on some interesting leads here, possibly even a bounty or two. He was willing to do anything to increase his power in order to make himself known to the world, to rise himself to the top so that he would never have to rely on someone else to get his job done. Astro took it upon himself to make his way into the local bar, scouring the inhabitants. Their skin.. oh their skin was blinding. The tone of their flesh was pure white, and their eyes were colored a deep crimson. It looked as if they hadn’t been out in the sun in AGES. “Erm… Greetings. I’m here to speak with the owner.”

Water was his drink of choice. Sitting at the end of the bar on a rickety old bar stool drinking a shot glass of what they called tap water here in some unknown bar in the middle of the most depressing place on Earth wasn't his choice. Gochen tried to hide his face from the locals sitting in the bar and drinking their assortment of awful liquor, paying them no mind as he sipped the awful tasting water from the sure to be dirty shot glass.
Truthfully he would have passed this lead off as local hysteria. Two or three of the local men had gone missing a week or so ago and haven't been seen or heard from since. Because Gochen liked to keep up with local news and he just so happened to be in the area he told himself, "what the hell", and pushed forward to try and solve this mystery, not that it pertained to Earths biggest mystery to date but perhaps it would lead to a pretty interesting story, but Gochen wasn't a believer of the local story telling, a saying tats been around since before he or his father was born, that a local clan of gentlemen are vampire like beings that prey upon the farmers and their families that live here, no Gochen didn't believe in that nonsense superstition. The best he could figure was that the three men may have run off, scared of commitment, or perhaps killed by a marauding group of bandits living nearby.
Gochen tossed down the rest of the water, it was pretty dusty outside and having any water was good cause to drink it in this little dust bowl of a town. He set the shot glass upside down on the bar and pushed himself out and hopped on the ground. He was digging through his pockets in order to leave a tip, not that water cost anything around here but it was always good to leave a tip. As he turned around he heard a familiar voice, greeted by an equally familiar face. The yellow Namekian he had come to know as Astro was standing in the middle of the bar surrounded by the dim lighting and pale skinned patrons of the bar.
"Astro! Long time no see my friend, how've you been?!"

Astro held onto his cape feverishly as he made his way towards about the only human (Other than Sienna) he trusted, Gochen. The stares and gawks he was getting from the locals were actually starting to creep him out. He took a seat, although it looked awkward and in a way, funny. Namekians were a naturally larger species, save for some specific Namekians being human-sized. Astro on the other hand, was not. He looked rather giant on the wooden stool. It creaked, aching to give way to his massive size. He pulled his hood down, looking over to Gochen with fang-induced grin. “Scoping out leads for work. I’ve been looking for areas to train, and a few residents from the Capsule Corporation in West Capitol hinted for me to take a glance here. What brings you to these parts?” Since their last meeting, Astro had grown a lot stronger. Despite still not ranking high enough to contend with his human friend, it was obvious that he bolstered his power since their last scuffle together, making it fairly apparent that he had trained hard. The journey from West Capitol to Ginger town had been absolutely rough. He did not waste his time battling the countless dinosaurs he encountered along the way. Instead, he eagerly pressed on to the luminous Ginger Town. Good thing, too! He got to meet up with his friend Gochen again!

"Well, I've been here and there since last time we met up. Took my time in Fukurou Forest, that's where I got this sweet Samurai Sword." Gochen holds up his Samurai sword leaving in the sheath, but still showing it off nonetheless. He laid it back down next to him as he sat next to his Namekian friend.
"Well, that's a funny thing," he continued, "I'm actually just passing through here. I too have heard about the local superstition, but honestly... I'm a nonbeliever in this hoax. I just pass if off as local gossip that was morphed as it traveled from ear to ear. Not really any reason to be here, other than... well really there is no reason to be here..."
All of a sudden Gochen felt a small tap on his left shoulder, he brushed it off with a finger sticking up to the stranger, saying "One minute," but the tap was consistent. Finally Gochen turned around to an older gentlemen, probably mid to late forties, he had a snarl on his face and smelled of, well that was the thing, he didn't really have a recognizable smell, not like some farmers do after working in their fields all day long, nor did he have that rich cologne smell that some farmer owners have. He just smelled... odd, and he certainly didn't smell like he had been drinking liquor all day.
"Excuse me, but could you, and your... friend, leave our little bar, before things get nasty."
"I'm sorry?" Gochen exclaimed, "What do you mean leave? We're not bothering anyone, and there is no need to get nasty with me... or my friend."
The snarling man blinked once, and then balled up his fist, all of a sudden the hardest punch of Gochens life was delivered straight to his face, sending him over the top of the bar and landing on the other side. He sat up, dazed and confused, rubbing his face and head where he impacted with the floor. "What the hell buddy?!" was all Gochen could mutter before the bar tenders meaty sausage fingers were around his neck, pulling him up and choking Gochen.
Gochen was loosing air fast, all he could think of was the reach out for help from Astro, but instead a better idea came across in his panic for more air, he found a whisky bottle behind the counter, grabbed it by the neck of the bottle, swung it around behind him and broke the bottle over the bartenders head. The bar tender stumbled back in a daze, all of a sudden the bar tenders eyes turned completely black, claws grew out of his fingers and his mouth opened wide for an extra set of teeth and longer canine teeth, all Gochen could do was yell out, "Kill'em all!"
He too the remainder of the broken glass bottle and stabbed it in the bartenders jugular, spraying blood all over Gochen, He reeled back in disgust, letting the broken glass bottle hang in the bar tenders jugular. Gochen looked to Astro in confusion, and shrugged his shoulders as he wasn't sure why the bar tender hadn't died yet. The bar tender just smirked and pulled the broken glass pieces out of his neck and dropped them to the floor.

Astro held tightly onto his cloak as the feeble-looking man approached Gochen. He couldn’t sense a damn thing coming from this guy. Even though he didn’t possess a Scouter so that he’d be able to accurately read power levels, the man’s aura still felt just like the regular humans. It was odd that he had asked the two of them to leave, because Gochen was right. They weren’t doing anything wrong. In an instant, the old man’s fist had collided with Gochen’s face. The sheer force of the punch knocked him over the bar and into the back area. His face was just as pale as the others, and his new strength was astonishing. Before his human friend could even make a move, his throat was being clenched by clawed fingers. Since he had such a deeply set respect for Gochen, his first instinct was to immediately get that person off of him. As he made his way to the top of the counter, he heard a loud ‘smash’. Glass crashed to the floor, and the red liquid he had come to know as ‘blood’ spewed about the establishment. Gochen had stabbed the being in the neck with a liquor bottle. This killed any normal person. Key word, normal. These people weren’t normal. They were monsters.
As Astro charged forth to help his friend, he was grasped from behind. Hands similar to the milky ones that were previously wrapped around Gochen’s neck snaked their way around his waist. Most, if not all of the inhabitants of the bar had taken it upon themselves to attack the duo. Even though their initial strength wasn’t enough to hold Astro back, their perseverance and durability was like none other. Astro slammed his right knee under the chin of one of the human-beasts, and brought a devastating elbow into the nose of another, effectively shattering it in the process. He readied himself in his traditional Namekian battle stance, ready to take on the monsters that provoked him, especially his friend Gochen. “Gochen, be on your guard. These things are not human.” The Yellow Namekian launched forth, swinging his right foot up to kick one of the pale-skinned pugilists in the face, knocking him through the roof. All the while, he charged a ball of orange ki in his right palm. Using the momentum from his kick, he backflipped through the air, doing a 180 spin in order to face three more of the vampire-like beings. “Heeyaaah!” He thrust his vascular arm forward, releasing the ball of ki. The energy attack slammed into the abdomen of one of them, knocking him into a plethora of other creature-human hybrids, knocking them THROUGH one of the buildings walls. At this point, Astro didn’t care about preserving the town, he would destroy all of these things in an instant if he could. Obviously, he’d look out for the innocents, but other than that, he was more focused on saving himself and Gochen. “Take them out, any means necessary.”

At this point the bar was filled with the sticky red substance of blood, however it wasn't normal healthy blood, but instead it was old and immediately turned black as though it had kept aging in an ageless body. Gochen hopped over the bar to join Astro in the larger battle, with the bar tender still behind the bar smirking and smiling away, Gochen lunged towards the nearest beast. He jumped into the the air, landing a swift right foot to the abdomen and using that as a spring board to uppercut kick the beast in the jaw sending him flying backwards into a booth, only to have him get up immediately after.
One thing that Gochen did notice was that these beasts were staying away from the sunlight pouring in from the two open holes that Astro had created, not that that meant anything but it was strange. Gochen grabbed his blade, unsheathed it and began to slice away. Off with one limb and off with another. He fully decapitated the man who had punched him earlier, having his body seemingly burst into ash and flame almost immediately. Gochen was shocked by this, what the hell were these things anyway? he thought to himself. All of a sudden he had an idea. He stabbed one of the beasts through the chest and pushed it all the way towards the sunlight pouring in through the roof, just as he suspected, it burst into flames and left a small scorch mark on the steel of the blade.
"Astro!" Gochen yelled over the fighting in the hopes his friend would hear, "Sunlight hurts them!"
All of a sudden he heard a loud hissing sound from behind him, he turned around just in the nick of time to find one of the vampire-like beings about to bite down on Gochens neck, luckily Gochen swung around with his sword arm and cut the lower jaw off of it's face, and then swung the sword around again and sliced its stomach open spilling its guts. The beast cried out in agony, but Gochen just pushed him into a bar stool which collapsed under the beasts weight.
Gochen then jumped back behind the bar to deal with the still smirking bar tender. "Ready to die?" the beast hissed out, "You first," Gochen spat back.
The bar tender beast lunged forward in a pit of rage, lunging with its claws and talons, Gochen immediately side stepped the first claw, raising his sword just enough to slice off it's right arm, then ki blast the bar tender away into a shelf of booze. The bar tender hissed as its blood dripped to the floor, it then lunged again, this time jumping up on the bar itself and running over to Gochen, however Gochen immediately cut its legs off and watched it fall to the floor behind the bar.
"Astro!" Gochen called out, "Head's up!"
Gochen tossed him his sword so he could use it to finish off the other patrons, while it was in mid air a vampire lunged toward Astro, but Gochen caught it at just the right moment with a Ki-blast sending it outside into the light, where it burned into a pile of ash.

Astro watched on in amazement as the creatures burst into flames as Gochen cut them down one by one. At first glance, he never would have guessed that the human was skilled with blades, but alas, you learn something knew everything. They were doing a superb job, easily cutting their numbers down to the last few. The yellow Namekian hit three of them with well calculated elbow strikes, deliberately putting all of his force into the strikes in order to blow holes through their stomach. Although it did little to stop them, it did knock them off balance. Long enough for Astro to catch Gochen’s sword and in one fell swoop, slice their heads off. The bartender by now had began creeping back towards the exit of the bar. Being caught up in all of the action, Astro didn’t take any notice to it. He tossed Gochen’s decorative, yet flawless samurai sword back to him, forming his hand into a sort of chop-like formation. He brought his arm down, striking one of the pale pugilists in the neck, snapping it in two.
Astro was finally able to glance back towards the bartender, who now had a reddish-black aura surrounding his body. He grinned evilly, holding some type of wooden wand in the air. “I do believe this is enough information.. You two will be perfect specimens for master! It’s sad that this power has to go to waste… but master will be pleased. Please wait here in order for us to ready the ritual!” With a whisp of his wand, he disappeared in a giant flash of red smoke. Astro held his yellow fists close, clenched. He used his left leg to deliver a hefty side-kick to the bar door, exploding it outwards like a rocket. “Hey got away… Damnit! What the hell did he mean ‘master’?” He glanced around, looking for Gochen. Honestly, he had expected a fight when coming here, but nothing that could escalate into something like this. This might turn out into a full blown war. Despite how easy these creatures were to take down, especially with the combined power of Gochen and Astro, he knew not to be foolish enough to let that get to him. Numbers could eventually easily outweigh power in some situations. Before he could re-enter the bar, a dark red, almost black flame-like aura rose from the ground surrounding the established town. It rose into the air, eventually dissipating into black sparkles. The sheer power from down below shook the Western Frontier to it’s core, almost knocking Astro onto his ass. “Gochen…. Do you feel that..?!”

Gochen caught his sword again, and went over to pick up his sheath off the ground. He whipped his sword around to try and sling some of the blood off of it before replacing it back in it's sheath. He then slung the sheath strap around his back and then tightened it up. He watch on in horror as the mutilated bar tender turned to smoke after talking about some kind of master. He looked over to Astro, glad that he had a friend in all of this. Even though they had met only briefly back in Bamboo Forest they had quickly become allies. Astro and Gochen, he thought, we make a good pair.
Gochen walked over to where the Bar tender had just dissipated, looking for him yet finding nothing. All of a sudden the ground shook with a massive energy, dropping Gochen on a broken table, he stood up immediately and answered Astro, "Yeah... what the hell do you think that was?"
The trashed bar began to creek and bend from the pressure of that black aura. Gochen quickly exited the bar, luckily in time because the bar soon began to sink into the ground, creating a larger than life sinkhole, swallowing up the bar and all of its bodies with it. The ground swirled around the bar, sucking the establishment far into the reaches of the Earth, leaving nothing but twisted up sand in its wake. All of a sudden the black aura reappeared, flying high up into the sky, leaving little entrails of smoke behind it as it went up. The aura spread far and wide, blanketing Ginger Town in is devilish veil of black, red and purple, all swirling and mixing, blocking out the sun, leaving the land called Ginger town in pitch blackness.
"What do you suppose happens now?" Gochen asked Astro quizzically.
He reached behind his back with his right hand and laid a firm grasp on the hilt of his blade ready to draw it at any moment if need be.

Astro flew into the air, nearly falling down into the deep, black abyss. The veil of darkness now overtaking the entire town, making it look like the set of some horror film. Black sparks of electricity accompanied the red, purple and black aura, reminiscent of that of an individual who powers up. Astro held onto his cloak, looking around to proudly sense that Gochen had made it out of that alive. He then turned his attention to the gaping sinkhole in the middle of the town. Pillars of shadowy smoke billowed forth from the trench, only aiding the creepy-ness factor of the entire situation. “More of that energy seems to be seeping out into the atmosphere from that hole. This is going to attract unwanted attention… But we can’t just leave it like this. Something is happening down there, and quite honestly, my adventurous side is poking out on this one. I’m going to go down below. “ With that notion in mind, Astro descended down upon the cavity, eventually being swallowed up by the darkness.
Under the earth’s surface, Astro had found himself in a large, eerie expanse. The ground and rocks looked exactly like earth above, although they were tainted red in color. Rubble from the aforementioned cave-in surrounded the immediate area, making it look as if a tornado passed through. As he brought in a closer observation of the place, he noticed one terrifying aspect; The ground was littered with corpses. Not flesh and blood, but skeletons. Of people. There must’ve been thousands, because other than a few rocks here and their protruding from the sea of bones, he couldn’t see the ground. By now, he was seriously hoping Gochen had tagged along, because he did not want to face this alone. At the far north end of the room were two, massive steel doors. The demonic aura exuded between the cracks, deluging the entire cave-like room. It swamped around Astro’s legs like a flowing river, emitting a fiendish, diabolical aura. Orange ki gathered around his body. He certainly didn’t want to be caught off guard here, nor did he want to fight in a place as disturbing as this. “Gochen! I think it’s safe to come down!” The yellow Namekian advanced forward, taking the entire area in. These bodies couldn’t be the ones of those vampire creatures they fought above, due to the fact that when they died, they burst into ashes. Were these… real people? Innocent people? The people of Gingertown? People who lived their lives, providing one of the most substantial sources of food in the world, reduced to just bones..? This just pissed Astro off to the core. Before he met Sienna and Kaine, and even Gochen, he wasn’t one to jump in like a hero and attempt to save the universe. He prefered to let things play out, and and allow things to ‘go with the flow’. But the humans had grown on him. He now felt a sense of justice overtaking his hulking frame. He had to do something about this. These people are just like his human friends. Or.. were. Either way, he was going to stop this. The rest of the people living in Gingertown above didn’t deserve this. They deserved to live in peace for the resources they provided for their community. whoever was doing this was going to pay, big time.
He continued forward, levitating above the masses of ribcages and skulls, slowly flying towards the two giant doors. As he got closer, he could make out two giant grate-like doors on either side. They looked like cage doors, although he wasn’t entirely sure. Now that he thought about it, he could see the bulk of the room. It was illuminated by small, red torches. He hadn’t necessarily taken it in until now. He looked forward to mark out a distinct soil path leading up to the steel doors. Loud groans and eerie screeches burst forth from the cage doors, echoing throughout the cavern. It shook Astro to the bone. What the hell could be out there..?
