The air, it had been cold and daunting when she first came into this world. Her soft cries, had turned people to tears, as they looked at the small child. She was born a bit underweight, she was a few months early, so in fact, that she had been around only three pounds. The first thing words ever said to Kiri, was that she’d never survive... That she was to small. Her organs wouldn’t be able to stabilize her on the outside. Her mother’s tears where warm when they had fallen on her cheek. The only reason she could remember these thoughts, these feelings. The depression that her mother had felt, the sorrow the villagers had. Was all due to Nera. The goddess that lived within her. She had been passed on to her by her mother. The goddess of war was something else, she hadn’t been as cold hearted as one believed. It was the middle of winter when she was born. The earthlings would call it January the first. Such a perfect birth date for the woman that she had become now. She was a bit cold.
Everything around her was like a Haze as Kiri laid there on the ground under a tree. The wind outside seemed to mimic the memory perfectly. She was caught within a sleepy like hold. Unable to move, the memories playing on their own. It was just like a dream, but being conscious on the outside world as well. Suddenly everything seemed to go into a circle. She watched as her small body was carried off towards the woods. She was going to be disposed of by the villagers. To save them the time wasted on trying to nurture such a small being. That’s when Nera had taken over her mothers body. Making the young Kagami woman with bright white hair, chase after them. Normally a woman wouldn’t be able to move after Child birth. But here she was moving and grabbing her new born child. Though Nera’s bright blue eyes where starring at the villagers.
This was the first time, Nera had held onto Kiri. The young infant had no clue what awaited her. When the goddess had saved her, she planned to use this vessel as her own. Because Kiri’s mother didn’t have much longer to stay alive. In fact she was suppose to die during this birth, but Nera had intervened for the time. Suddenly it seems day passed by, as Kiri watched herself growing stronger as a small kid. It seemed, that she was indeed stronger than what the villagers had expected. But it was due to her mothers interference. And Nera’s own. They continued to infuse the power of the goddess into the kid. Making her stronger by unnatural effects, little did they know at the time, it was affecting the kids mind. Making her somewhat crazy before she could even say her first word.
The days and years seemed to pass by quickly for the infant, and the goddess. Though that was because neither one of them stayed conscious long enough, Nera hardly had anything to do with Kiri’s mother. The only thing that had kept the womans interest, was the new born infant that hadn’t given up on life. Even if it needed a little push to keep it growing. A few years had passed by, when Kiri was finally able to walk on her own. She was tiny, she never grew to her mothers knee like most kids. Instead, she was smaller than most her age. She only came about their chest. Which is a known affect of being born early, your body would never grow to the height of others around you. You’d always be the runt of the tribe, and with that she had her first name. And the reason she wasn’t picked most of the time for the games the others played. Kiri remembered the pain and hatred she had gained for her tribe.
It wasn’t fair for her, to be ignored by the others for her being so small. The anger that grew inside of her, was twisted and dark because of the other kids. Even the villagers seemed to avoid the blue haired child. s she wore her hair in a pixie like cut. Simply because it wouldn’t grow enough for her to consider having long hair. At least, that is what she came to accept at the time. Suddenly the memories seemed to fade away. As Kiri opened her eyes, they where filled with anger, a little bit of hate... And the worst feeling ever sadness. It was never fun to feel this way. In fact she hated feeling this way with tears rolling down her eyes. It was a nuisance. There was no reason for her to be this way... And yet those past memories had thrown her for a ride. Why was she experiencing them now of all things? Was she missing something? Only thing she could remember missing was her mother. But she had grown past that. At least, she thought she had grown up enough to forget the pain she was feeling when she had learned of her mothers death.
Suddenly she felt Nera coming to life inside of the woman. A long sigh escaped Kiri’s lips. As the goddess was coming to life. A small figure that looked like her mother appeared inside of her mind. It was Nera, and it was the form the goddess had taken on when she had no pre-recognition of what she had looked like before she passed away. Kiri let a smile appear on her face, but it was suddenly washed away when Nera spoke. “You do know, that I can feel everything you feel. That sadness in you is understandable... Just don’t let it get to you too much, you know what will happen when it does. It’ll become unbearable and just slow us down. I hope you get over it soon. Otherwise we will be sitting here for a while. As you talk about how bad you feel.” She said in a small teasing tone. A small groan escaped Kiri as she sat back against the tree behind her.
The wind was making the leaves above her rattle and jingle, making the eerie quietness between the two even more perfect. A small sigh escaped Kiri as a single tear ran down her face. “I’m sorry Nera, I wasn’t expecting for those memories to come back. It’s only been around sixteen years since I’ve last seen my mother. Well I can’t say that exactly, you look exactly like her but that’s the only form you know.” Kiri’s words seemed to trail off slightly as she began to stand up looking around at the area around her. She remembered meeting the four strange creatures in the forest the other day. One of them had been joking slightly with her, enticing her about trying to claim her. Or so it had felt. But it had been the first meeting, and Kiri was just being herself around them. Letting a small sigh escape her lips, the young Kagami woman flew up quickly looking around her.
It had been a while since she had felt sad, and right now it didn’t feel good. She hated this feeling and when she felt this way she was irritated. “Hey Nera, let’s go do something in the mean time. I don’t like feeling this way. I think it’s time for us to go pay a visit to a town or something. I have no time for feeling like this. At least, I don’t feel as if I should suffer this way. Why am I the only one to feel this within my chest. It’s like a strong hand has a grip on my lungs. I can hardly breathe when I feel this way. It’s so annoying that it makes me want to cry.” Nera sat there quietly for a moment shaking her head. It wasn’t every day, that someone went around saying they had been sad, and then the next moment talk about doing something fun to cheer themselves up. It was going to be a long day for her, she already knew that.
Kiri began to walk out of the forest, where a small village sat on the outskirts of the woodings. When Kiri noticed it, a small smile appeared on her face. It had been a while since she blew something up. And here was a perfect opportunity, there was no one around to ruin her fun. A small laugh escaped her lips as she began to walk towards town. When she approached, several farmers and other things looked up to see a small woman walking into town. Her porcelain like skin shined within the sun light. And she looked as if she had been of royalty at some point in her life. They wouldn’t be too far off, the woman had been raised in royalty with two other daughters. They had been something nice to be among. She got to wear a lot of pretty clothers, and dress up with the daughters.
But even if it offered a little fun for her. The girl knew that it wasn’t the life for her. And then that’s when she had killed the entire family, one by letting the father hit on her, and melting him just like the jailer. That was the first time, she had allowed someone to touch her as that man had. It had a nice feeling to it, was a shame that she didn’t let it continue, because she never really felt that feeling again. Instead, others where too afraid of her, to even try to get close to her. Suddenly she heard someone calling out to her. Looking up, she saw a small girl running up to her. Eyes starring wide up at Kiri as she giggled. “You’re pretty wady.” The accent was definetly a country persons. And the way she spoke she was no older than four. Or five probably closer to five than four. She reached a hand up towards Kiri smiling slightly.
“My name Leilah, It’s a pleasure to meet ya. What brings you out here?” Something inside of Kiri was slightly disturbed. She had come here to blow stuff up, and yet here this little kid came running up, as pure as rain wanting to meet her. The first thing she had done was hold out a hand to her. She didn’t seem scared, and the fact that she had called Kiri pretty. A small sigh escaped the girl as she shook her head slightly. Was this guilt she was feeling just now? It couldn’t be could it. Speaking back to the little girl. “Hey there Leliah. You shouldn’t tell strangers your name so quickly. They can be very evil once you get to know them. So be careful on who you talk to. You may just die.” The little girl look sideways slightly before sticking out her lip like she was pouting. “You don’t seem dangerous lady. I mean you’re barely taller than my sister and she’s only thirteen. And here you are being nice to me. Don’t you think that accounts for something? And you’re dressed pretty. I don’t see you as the dangewous type.” Kiri stood there for a moment looking down at the girl.
Shaking her head slightly, the little one was right. She didn’t look that frightening. And in fact, she hadn’t looked at the girl like she was going to blow up her village. Suddenly a small ping of guilt came into Kiri as she remembered what she had originally thought doing as she came to the village. But suddenly the twisted side of Kiri loved that feeling. It made her squirm slightly before she giggled like a mad man. Reaching down she patted the young womans head. “Now now, you’re a funny one. It almost makes me sad to kill you.” The young girl just laughed. And giggled with her before taking Kiri’s hand and leading her into the village. “Right this way ma’am, I’ll let ya meet Ma and Pa.”
Everything around her was like a Haze as Kiri laid there on the ground under a tree. The wind outside seemed to mimic the memory perfectly. She was caught within a sleepy like hold.
