Present Day:
No prodigy here, no help from my parents, no love from my peers, only thing I ever got was a backhand from life, always saying that I wasn't allowed to do this, or I wasn't able to do that. The only thing I was allowed to have was one friend. Even that friend had to try and kill me when the time came however.
Alone, yet again. Just like school, just like home. Half the time I was there they didn't want me, the other half of the time they didn't even remember who I was. The only friend, the only mentor that I had was my Master, Shen Zao, he taught me martial arts, he taught me how to live, he taught me how to be me... And yet the damned Lunar Eclipse took him from me... I still remember it like it was yesterday.
6 months ago:
"Master, I don't know if I can follow through with it."
"You must, you know what will happen if I am to escape, you may not be strong enough to completely take me down, but you must try, otherwise you and everyone else on Mt. Paozu will die."
"Okay, I think I can Master, but I wish there was something I could do other than kill you."
"I wish there were too, however this must happen. You have great potential Gochen, you must use it for the greater good."
My Master turned that day, the day on the Lunar eclipse... he turned into some kind of winged demon creature.
The back of his shirt ripped open from the force of his growing leathery wings. His skin turned dark and pale, talons grew in place of his hands, a snout developed from his nose and mouth area. His eyes grew black like the sky, his teeth took on a sharper role, developing into needles, and his tongue became that of a snake. He hair became scarce and oily laying on his head like a dead thing. He snarled, spitting saliva and hate with every breath. He turned into his curse, he turned into a Gargoyle. For a moment I thought he may have recognized me, but was dismayed when he lurched backwards flapping his wings and loosing the remains of his cloths. He swatted me from the park bench we were sitting on, sending me flying backwards into a nearby clearing surrounded by woods. The creature that was formally my master soared up into the air, and then down again after me. I was quick on my feet however, recovering fast and charging a ki-bolt. I threw two or three at him, not really aiming but trying to get him away from me. It didn't work however, as he hit me in the stomach and then with his sharp talons grabbed ahold of me and took me into the air. Once we were high enough he let go of me. I feel into the open abyss, my stomach churning from the feeling of free fallings, ending up in my chest, my equilibrium was sent off, but thankfully I recovered enough to send one quick ki-bolt at the beast. Hitting it square in it's back I sailed through the air towards it as we both plummeted towards the ever expanding ground. I latched onto it's back, grabbing both wings with my hands and holding on for dear life. The gargoyle recovered remarkably fast and aimed itself towards the ocean. It flew out far enough away from any nearby town, so I quickly disabled one of it's wings. We both went crashing down onto the ocean surface. Luckily for me the gargoyle took most of the impact, but I didn't walk away without a couple of bruises. I surfaced after about a minute under the water. Gasping for breath I looked around to see if I could find the beast, unfortunately I didn't see anything close to me, however I did see the beast a little ways away, heading towards the shoreline. It couldn't take off in water because it wasn't able to push off of anything and it's wings were to wet.
I swam as fast as I could after it, the gargoyle got to the beach first however, scaring away many of the beach goers. Luckily they cleared out pretty quickly, allowing me to attack the beast without worrying about casualties. I made it to the beach and took off my outer Hawaiian shirt, laving me with my shoes, shorts and my white T-shirt with a few tears in it from impacting out in the ocean. I ran after the creature at my fastest speed, tackling it to the ground, the beast roared in anger and with it's strong legs pushed me off of it. I went sailing back into the shallow water, but was unable to get up as the beast jumped after me and landed on top of me, sinking its sharp talons into my right bicep. It then opened its giant jaw and bit me on the neck, breaking the skin and then picking me up and hurling me into a table. The table broke under the force of me landing on top of it. The beast yet again jumped after me, however I used afterimage and then came up behind it, wrapping my legs around the beasts waist, interlocking my ankles and then putting my right arm around it's neck to try and knock it out, however the beast jumped onto its back and tried to crush me. I let go and a couple summersaults away from it. I charged up a Ki-blast and sent it at it, however the creature used a sort of dragon breath to destroy the attack. The gargoyle then came after me, grabbing me by the shoulders and stopping my arms it used it's legs to rip off my shirt, creating a large gash across my chest. It then threw me back into the deep water and flew up into the sky, out of my sight.
I sunk to the bottom, too tired from the fight to chase after it, however I knew I had to attack it. I swam back up to the top and crawled back onto the beach, but I couldn't follow it, I hadn't learned how to fly yet from my late master. I laid in the soggy sand for a little while, trying to regain some of my energy. I closed my eye for what seemed like 3 seconds, however when I opened them again it as pitch black outside, and not from the lunar eclipse anymore, it was night. the eclipse had completely passed, but the gargoyle was still on a rampage I was sure of it. I could just barley feel the presence but that was because it was so far away. I got up off of the sandy ground and tried to run after it, feeling the signature of it's personal ki. After awhile I made it to a small mountain village, a couple of the buildings had been burned and the people were no where to be seen. However I did see the creature circling above the town like a vulture. I was quick to react as I jumped on a couple of stationary carts, hobbling over them and then launching myself into the air after jumping onto a nearby roof that hadn't collapsed yet. I barley made it high enough but I grabbed onto it's ankles, and with all of my might I hurled it down to Earth. It landed in the center of town, creating a small crater from the impact. It rose just slightly before I landed a swift knee onto his back, breaking one of it's wings, stopping it from flying again. The beast swatted me to the other end of the crater, but I used the momentum to stop my self with my feet and then launch me back at the Gargoyle. I hit it across it's face with my right hand, almost knocking it out, however it recovered yet again and grabbed me by the ankle and tossed me out of the crater. It jumped out after me but I used its own momentum to stop it, I rolled out of the way and it landed on the ground face first.
I looked to the horizon and saw a glimpse of light. If the gargoyle sees a sunrise without the lunar eclipse it will turn to stone and die, I remember my master telling me. I grab the gargoyles right leg and toss it into the woods, then run after it. I use my speed to deliver several hard hitting punches to the face and body, pushing it further through the woods until we end up on a peak over looking some rocky edge and the ocean. Three more minutes I tell myself, until the sun will rise and the Gargoyle will turn to stone. I deliver several more hits to the creatures face and it stumbles over to the edge. Finally the sun rises, however the gargoyle doesn't turn to stone or even to ash like my master had told me, the beast still lives on. It snarled and spat it's saliva at me, it didn't go far but just landed between my feet. Its pale grey skin looked washed out in the new light of the day, it's fangs now somehow sharper than before, its talons the same as its teeth.
"I am now born into this world, I shall create it as my own, and every living person on Earth shall die by my hand and by my children's hands."
"Wha?! you can talk?!"
"Of course I can you daft idiot, your old Master has finally died his soul withered away like dust in the wind. I now control his power and his mind, I just needed to see the sunrise after the Eclipse to realize my full potential."
"Well then, I just have to stop you before you can have your... children."
I pushed forward with my left foot, using my right foot to add a second boost to my speed and I delivered a swift right elbow to its left cheek bone. It staggered backwards almost falling off the Cliffside, however it caught itself and used my own momentum against me as it kneed me in the gut and tossed me over the side. Luckily I caught onto the rocky side of the cliff and held on for dear life. It looked over the edge and laughed as it had though it won. All of a sudden a tear in it's skin was shown, it was like it was splitting in two. "Its having a child! I can't let this happen!" I told myself in my head.
I had a good enough view to hit it perfectly and maybe kill it, but I would fall into the rocks and probably die, I had to push out in order to clear the rocks and hopefully have enough time to fire my Surf's up ki-blast. I breathed in a deep breath and then steadied myself. I charged my Ki for a moment and then pushed off. I felt my stomach drop and my ears pop and suddenly I could hear a lot better. I focused all of my energy on this blast and threw it at the gargoyle.
"Hey asshole! Surf's up!"
The Ki-Blast hit perfectly at the changing gargoyle. Completely splitting the creature in half, stopping it from growing its child anymore. The lifeless body tumbled over the side of the cliff at almost the same speed as I was falling. However I impacted the water and it impacted the sharp edges of the rocks down below. The water was deep enough to where I wasn't hurt too bad but hitting the water from that height I did sustain a couple minor injuries.
About 15 minutes later I finally made it to a beach where I could get out of the water and dry off. I searched for the body of the Gargoyle and I had saw that it turned to stone, well what was left of it anyway as when it impacted the rocks it was already stone and it had shared into a thousand tiny pieces. My shirt was practically shredded and damp by the time I was on shore. My khaki shorts were soaked and my sunglasses were no where to be found. Thankfully no one had even touched my Hawaiian button up shirt and I took that with me to try and cover up some.
I made it back to my masters house, found some clean dry clothes, slipped into them and went to bed for the rest of the day and night. I woke up feeling refreshed and better than before, I was changed... and I was ready for whatever other challenge was awaiting me in the future.
