Name: SorrelStarting Planet: Vegeta.
Alias: The Dragon of the Low-Class
Species: Saiyan
Gender: Male
Age: NineteenHistory:The story begins with the conception and birth of the boy on the planet 'Vegeta,' the Saiyan home world known for breeding beings capable of becoming the most destructive warmongers in the universe. His first memory was reaching out for warmth, instincts telling him that he could find comfort in his mother amidst the confusion of this strange new world. But all that his infantile hands could feel was the cold glass barrier of his incubation pod. This marked Sorrel's first time questioning the integrity of his environment, though his mind was not yet developed enough to comprehend this fact. More odd was the fact that no tears were shed at this disappointment. The boy did not make a sound, unlike his similarly aged neighbors whom bellowed at the top of their lungs for the affection their instincts had promised them.
One of these neighbors was his slightly older yet much more powerful twin brother, Fennel. It was not unheard of for Saiyans of one class to give birth to those in another, but Sorrel was a terrible oddity in that he was the low-class twin of an elite born to nobles that were also elites. Although Vegeta's system had changed to allow even low-class Saiyans a chance at the throne, it didn't completely take away from the negative connotation that came with the ranking. As the doctor put it, such a scenario was most likely to happen in the case of a multiple birth. The idea is that one of the children may have actually stolen energy from the others, causing it to grow stronger while the other grew weaker. The doctor even theorized that if Sorrel truly were a low-class from conception, then he might not have had enough energy to survive his brother's energy vampirism.
Sorrel's strength on arrival placed him in the top percentile of newborn Low-Class Saiyans, even after having a majority of his battle power siphoned before birth. His brother was only an average newborn Elite at best, even with the stolen power. Still, his parents ruled him off as inferior from birth, something he picked up on from behind his glass chamber. He was not only aware of who his family was, but he was able to notice that his parents spent quite a bit of time discussing Fennel's potential during their visits to the elite's pod. Their visits to Sorrel seemed to only question what could be done with the lesser child. He could not truly form thoughts, but he could follow his feelings and instincts to arrive at the conclusion that this was his next great disappointment. Still, he had no idea that his experience in incubation would set the tone for the rest of his life and that he would have a rough childhood, even for a Saiyan, as a result.
In spite of sharing the same face, Sorrel and Fennel were complete opposites. Fennel's power and natural fighting ability caused him to be arrogant, lazy, and unmotivated while the disregard that Sorrel experienced humbled him into understanding that there was no voice without power and made him determined to get stronger. The only reason that Fennel even trained was to appease his father, even though the old Saiyan never seemed quite satisfied with Fennel's performance. In times like these Fennel would bully his younger brother to make himself feel better, and Sorrel kept quiet under the belief that he deserved it for being weak. He also knew that Saiyans had a tendency to grow stronger after defeat, though he was not initially aware that this meant the verge of death.
As adolescence set in, Fennel and Sorrel found themselves old enough to embark on missions. Fennel would always receive praise from their parents upon return for he always managed to come back without a scratch. Sorrel, on the other hand, decided that the only way he could ascend would be if he took on missions far ahead of his level. While he would always come back bloody and tattered, quite literally on the verge of death in some cases, the only praises he would receive were in the recovery chambers as only they really knew how much Sorrel suffered in each mission. As word spread of his efforts, he became regarded as "the Dragon of the Low-class" for refusing to die in spite of his extensive injuries.
This regard, however, only came from the lower-class. No matter how many times he came back battered from a mission reserved for elites, he would receive no praise from his father and watch as his brother, who seemed to suffer so little, continued being hailed for doing what he was expected. It reached a point where Sorrel was disgusted by all of it. Was there no way to prove himself? He thought he had grown so much stronger through his efforts, but was the gap between he and his brother so broad? He could not except it. He refused to believe it and eventually challenged Fennel to a spar. Their father was amused by the thought, and decided to watch to see if "the second child," as he chose to call Sorrel, was worth anything at all.
And Sorrel proved that he was. What had started as an even match escalated into a one-sided beat down, where Sorrel voiced his frustrations and suffering while tears streamed from his eyes. As his brother lay in a state quite similar to what Sorrel looked like whenever he came back from a mission, the younger twin quietly walked away. He had even finally won the praise of his father, but it wasn't enough. He thought he would be satisfied once he overcame his brother but he still felt hollow after the victory. He continued his string of life-threatening missions, trying to find the satisfaction that once filled him from coming back battered and surviving by force of will alone.
But it wasn't there anymore. It was around this time that Sorrel heard of an intergalactic tournament, one where the universe's strongest would gather to show their strength. He became convinced that the only way to validate himself would be to participate in the tournament and stand atop the universe as the strongest. It did not take long for him to head to Earth, only to find that the average Earthling was much weaker than even the standard Low-Class. Still, somehow there existed Earthlings that could stand against the Elite. He resolved to spend the rest of his time on Earth before the tournament figuring out how the humans managed to surpass their limits.
