The sidelines were a storm of activity. In the moments during a match, it was wild and frenzied. But now, during the down-time between rounds? It was even worse. People crowded little gift shops to get plush toys of fighters from other universes, mothers brawled, pummeling one another into the concrete to get that last copy of the crummy T-Shirt with a Quarter-Finalist's face on it. The Vargas might have expected rowdiness from some of the contestants, but nothing could have prepared them for the ferocity of the fans.
Xylo shifted around a particularly vicious brawl, which a few Time Patrollers were trying to stop. They were failing miserably. As amusing as it was to see these strange time-jumping poilcemen fumble at their job, the Mazoku had better things to do.
Did he, though? As he walked past, his boots clacking against the concrete, his mind wandered. He was out of the tournament, which meant he was little more than a spectator. A spectator who ran an army, sure, but what did that matter to anyone here? As much as he wanted to, he couldn't go home just yet either. He still had to keep up appearances. It would have been curious if the Namekian Lord went home by his lonesome, left to plot and plan at home while his only opposition stayed here at the tournament of parallel worlds.
In a way, he was a social prisoner. Forced to stick around a place he had no interest in being.
"What a sham," he said, scowling.
Oh well, he decided. If he was stuck here, he might as well see the sights. Maybe he'd even get a chance to wallop one of his other selves behind the bleachers, away from the watchful eye of the bird-beaked-show-runners.
With arms folded, he walked as casually as a former warlord could towards the next set of gift shops. There was always a chance he'd find a decent gift for his sons there. After all, they had just about everything you could imagine in this place.

“You look like you’re having SO much fun” Habana said making her way through part of the crowd, she hadn’t been entirely certain at first if the large Namekian she had spotted was actually Xylo or more accurately if it was her universes Xylo. He definitely possessed a familiar power signature but the problem was that she wasn’t quite familiar enough with Xylo himself to be able to fully discern his from another Xylo.
As far as Habana had seen though there were not a ton of Xylo’s actually present, there was the one from a Universe where the Mazoku were reigning supreme, and someone who felt LIKE Xylo but also like someone else at the same time. She hadn’t figured out who he was from but at the same time, she didn’t particularly care.
Truth be told she really only gave a shit about her universes Big Green, he had agreed to peace rather surprisingly and before they could actually do the whole peace conference thing that Zucc and the others had planned the Vargas had shown up and everyone had come here. It was a pretty nice distraction for a bit, a chance to not really think much about the fact that there Universe was on the brink of a massive change, that they had a chance to properly end the war.
“What happened, I was expecting to be punching you at some point in this tournament.”

"?"
The Namekian glanced behind his shoulder, and a frown formed. He wasn't exactly excited to meet up with one of the loud-mouthed Saiyan Queens, less so the one from his own universe. If it was some mirror of her, he wouldn't put his soon-to-be truce in jeopardy by knocking her teeth out in the stands.
Begrudgingly, he turned to face her. "Habana. It's a pleasure," he lied blatently.
Her question did little more than make him chuckle. A battle in the tournament would have been an excellent opportunity for the two of them to air out some... "grievances" before the peace conference back home, but luck wasn't in the Mazoku's favor, it seemed. "Judge bias, maybe. Either that or I didn't exactly care enough about this surreal tournament to win. Take your pick."
He turned on his heel, and began walking, motioning for her to follow along. It wasn't like he was going to get rid of her, after all.
"Y'know, It's been a while since I've had an actual conversation. The last few months, people usually started and ended any 'chats' with lots of yelling and punching."
The Mazoku took a moment to watch the arena below. A handful of matches from the second round were still underway, it seemed.
"There's a lot of topics I hear often-- War and more generally, combat are fan favorites of my Mazoku. I'm sure you hear much of the same. It'd be nice to talk about something else for once."
Eyes still locked on the arenas far below them, he posed a somewhat awkward question to his fellow War-loving leader.
"Do you have any hobbies, Habana? Chess, maybe?"

Haban kept a wide grin even through Xylo’s clear distaste in her arrival, while she had been the one to initiate conversation she felt fairly certain her opinion of him was just as poor as his opinion of her, as such it took all of her power not to more obviously roll her eyes at the claim of ‘judge bias’ being a potential factor in his loss. Surprisingly he continued on mentioning how most of his conversations just devolved into brawling, Habana ALMOST made a comment on that but quickly realized that this was more or less the same case for herself, usually, she ended up fighting someone or her conversation took place during some sort of training. If not that then it was likely not a friendly conversation and instead just a meeting about organizing defenses or something political.
“Yeah war and fighting are pretty fond topics of Saiyans as well,” Habana said with a shrug, she could DEFINITELY understand Xylo’s weariness with that sort of conversation. Habana was caught off guard when he then asked her if she had any hobbies, she stood there and blinked a few times as she first processed the question and who it had come from. Not long ago the idea of talking hobbies with Xylo of all people would have been absurd.
It still was.
Then Habana realized that with everything that had gone one for the past.. Well ever since she’d become Queen really and even a bit before then she’d run a bit dry on actual hobbies “I guess Video Games? I played a lot of Serpent Fighter when it was released, it’s been a bit since I’ve actually had the time to sit down any relax properly though. What about you?”

"Video Games... I thought those were children's toys. You just push the button and it says 'you win' on the screen, right?"
Xylo pondered her reply for a moment. When Vi-Poi had asked him the same question months ago, he hadn't an answer. Fighting was his blood, but now he needed something else to pass the time. His brother was fond of passing time in a myriad of ways. Maybe he could take a page out of his book.
"To be honest with you I never needed a hobby. Starting an empire is busywork enough. Now though? I hear fishing is fun. Maybe I'll try my hand at that." He smirked awkwardly, before continuing. "Or maybe I'll pick up one of those Video Games. What was the one you played? Serpent Fighter? Sounds like a good surrogate if I ever needed it."
Before it could get unbearably awkward, a massive explosion of cheers erupted around them. One of the matches had took an exciting turn! From here it was hard to tell who was facing who, and seeing as he barely knew anyone here, it made picking out which version of which fighter who was actually in the ring incredibly difficult. Even with a mind as sharp as Xylo's was, the mess of energies from across time and space was hard to sift through.
"It's funny, don't you think? We stop fighting, and a chance to fight comes along. It's almost like the gods don't like peace-time."

“Well no, games can be quite a bit more complicated than that. Serpent Fighter is a game where you control a character and then fight against other characters, sometimes it's against other people and other times its against a computer” Habana said internally cringing at Xylo’s belief of what constituted a Video Game, she often forgot that despite the advancements on other worlds Namek tended to stay rather behind the times.
“Yeah I was a bit of the opposite, the more I had to run the more I WANTED my hobbies but didn’t have the time for them. Running an Empire is a huge pain in the ass most of the time, not sure how you can stand it without having something as an outlet” Habana said as she began to wonder if perhaps THAT was why he always seemed so grumpy.
“Yeah Serpent Fighter, I suppose I could bring it along when we gather together for the Peace thing” Habana said slightly unsure of herself, it was REALLY wierd to be offering to play games with Xylo after everything.
“Yeah, truth be told though I’m kind of glad for this. Its given me more time to think and vent a bit of my aggression. It’s gonna be really weird once things settle down and there isn't any more big fights to work towards.” she could already tell that there would be many in the Empire displeased with the results.

"Ah, I suppose that makes sense. It'd be a bit strange if a game as simple as I described had competitions, after all. Not much excitement for a viewer if all they're doing is waiting for a button to be pressed, right?"
As Habana talked, there was an odd sense of familiarity. Despite how cliché it sounded, they were more alike than he'd realized. It made him wonder, just for a moment, why he even started this war. He knew why, in the back of his mind, but looking back on it, his desires seemed more selfish than he'd intended. Forcing his own people to march to war, despite their reluctance? It wasn't the best way to put them higher on the galactic food chain.
"Well, if it isn't too much trouble to set up one of those consoles, perhaps we can have a little exhibition match once we decide what exactly peace means for our people."
He smiled at the ruler of this opposing faction, his brow-ridge slightly cocked. It was surreal, honestly. Just days ago they were slinging insults from across the battlefield, and now here they were, mere feet apart and instead of throwing fists, they shared hobbies. Would he ever truly get used to this?
Habana posed her concerns for a post-war Empire, causing the Namekian to come up with an idea. "Well, there's still work to be done. A fight to be fought, if you will." His attention turned, for just a moment, back to the arena. "A lot of lives were lost in this war. I'd wager most of them didn't need to be taken so soon." Selfishly, his mind raced back to that of his own son. Soon after, the horrified faces of Capper's family flashed before his eyes, and he frowned.
"We're going to need the Dragon Balls to restore lives from both sides, and sadly, Porunga can only do so much. It'll probably be just as hard of a battle to gain access to Earth's dragon as it was ending this war-- and that's assuming Earth even has a Kami right now." He paused for a moment, mulling on the past. Hadn't he met a Kami recently? "The last time I'd been to Earth was decades ago, and as far as I know the Dragon Balls were dormant then."

“That could be interesting, fun even. I do hope you aren’t a sore loser though” despite the almost taunting nature of what she said her tone held no real malice as she said it “though to be honest I’m going to wager if such a thing DOES happen Poi will likely take the win assuming he plays.” He seemed like the type that would enjoy games and being an Android PROBABLY provided him some benefit. Part of Habana wondered if it came down to it if she could push her precognition to give her an edge.
“Earth does have a Kami, you met her during the ‘visit’ to Namek before the tournament. Her name is Maeve. I doubt she would put up much issue with us looking to gather the Dragon Balls if I give her the heads up, our only REAL potential issue is Poi himself. I’m not quite sure, peace agreement or not if he’d trust either of us collecting the Dragon Balls”
“I’m glad you mentioned them though, I was planning to suggest the two of us gather some version of them that we can find together, mostly to keep each other from doubting the others intentions so it’s good you’ve got a similar mindset with that.”
