The next morning after the excursion with Pieter, Matt was resting in a tree, his legs finally getting to the point where the burn wasn't painful and was recuperating. Looking to the sky. The dream he had was of his family, the feeling like he could be their barrier. With a sense of excitement filling him as the thoughts of his dream returned to him. He jumped off the branch he was laying on and hit the ground. He stood up and smirked. He resolved. [I'll practice some flight, maybe some energy control!]
With that thought he closed his eyes and let his energy well up. Feeling like it was a small fountain slowly pushing out more and more water. Eventually becoming a geyser. His aura flared to life, resplendent and green, near mint color. Small flecks of white light gathering around his aura. He stretched, pulling his arms up and making a squeaking noise as it forces air out of his lungs. He knelt down and jumped up, propelling himself a little bit into the air and letting his aura do the work. It was a lot easier to fly now that he wasn't worried about a fire being put out. He soared into the air, taking in the feeling again of the wind rushing past his face. Like when he did ki propulsion, except in this case his legs weren't on the verge of breaking. He shouted happily into the air, looking at the view from below. "This is the greatest feeling!" He said, letting his energy flare as much as it needed to. This was the day he got to revel in his joy of his newly acquired self-acceptance. He held out his arms to feel the wind whip around them as he tried forming a ball of energy in his palms. After the fire training, it felt easy to just- let the energy form naturally. Pieter's training really helped!
Eventually, he flew down and landed into a field of rock, and grass. He decided to let loose with some work. He lobbed the two energy balls at a nearby rock formation, the ball squished against the mineral formation and BOOM! the rock crumbled and propelled into the air. Matt smiled "Woah!" he chuckles, putting one hand on his forehead in surprise. "That's a thing!" He watched the other energy ball fly through the rubble, and far out into the distance, before slowing down and bursting. Matt laughed, feeling incredibly powerful in himself. he tried training himself for new possibilities in techniques by charging up two more energy balls, and throwing them into the sky, one after another, watching them burst like fireworks. He tried something different in a ball, pouring a lot of energy in the center, making it almost unstable. Coating the outside in less energy, he lobbed the ball into the air. it flew upwards before the outer coating ripped open, and the ball went off like a shotgun blast, spraying smaller balls of energy into the atmosphere before they dissolved into the sky. He raised his hands into the air excitedly and felt energy gathering there. He looked up in surprise as flecks of bright light gathered around it, wisps of green energy from him turning orange, and blue. he cocked his head to the side and moved his arms down to their sides, which caused the energy to dissipate. "Huh? I'll have to figure that out later" He grins nervously. "Anyways! Back to training! Now for the tough stuff!"
Hours passed, and as night came to the sky. Matt was lighting a fire with his energy. When he got the fire roaring he took a few deep breaths "keep the energy low, don't blow it out. You got this Mattenes" He says to himself, running to the fire, jumping. and turning on his energy. He froze in place just above the fire, the fire whipping as his aura came to life, but Matt had it low enough to where it wasn't leaking through too much to put it out. [When I see the moon above me, i'll put the fire out and go to bed!] he says, feeling the effects already of straining himself as he felt himself loosen up before tightening right back up with effort.
As time went by, beads of sweat dripped off matt and kept fizzing against the fire as it dripped off his feet. This was just as intense as it was previously! Pieter's training really was tough! However; the training became too tough for matt. As the moon neared the top of the sky, matt fell down. pushing himself to the side with his energy flare to save himself from the fire. He laid there, gasping for air and matted with sweat he smiled a little "getting close" He simply said to himself. before letting his body rest and letting himself go to bed.
