The evening had been coming to an end for the Southern Capital, which opened the way for the nightlife of the tropical city of lights! People flooded the streets in droves, bouncing from bright casinos and bars, luxurious hotels and run down inns struggling to pay mortgage, and restaurants serving hot and cold confectionaries to the populace! Among these places, the Cherry Valley Loft, with its two restaurants, hotel, and casino, was among the places being visited. Guests in the hotel, and those just walking along the streets, came rushing to the place of excitement, hoping to experience something unlike anything else on the planet!
This was the place Alaistair had built up, and at the moment... He found himself quite bored of the constant drinks, parties, games, and banter with the civilians. The Devil had been sitting at the end of the bar, in the hotel's restaurant, with things coming to more of a crawl. Blue lanterns lit the area up, exposing his contemplative expression, as well as others who were conversing further down the end of the bar. Eres, his head chef and one of the three Demons who originally owned the Loft before it became what it was today, had been serving drinks to the others and had been offering Alaistair drinks, which he declined to.
"You've been acting very different, today," the flaming haired bartender would mention to her, sounding worrisome, "Normally, you've been chatting up a storm with the guests in the lounge, while simultaneously trying to help us out with the restaurants and the casino down he way..."
"Mhmm. Been thinking quite a bit today..."
Eres raised her eyebrows and nodded with puckered lips, responding swiftly, "Yeah... You have! Care to speak up?"
Alaistair looked up at her, having been leaning over the counter this whole time, before leaning back in his chair and sighing through lips that flapped with his breath.
"Well, I've been thinking a lot about why I've been doing this stuff and how... Well, there's the whole shtick with Plato, Vennel... And from what I last felt, Kaza, that grey Majin, just getting so strong so quickly, I didn't even get the chance to develop a relationship with them and get them on the same page as me," Alaistair stated this, while also thinking about two others he worked with before, "Which led them to having gone through some bad decisions and... Am I strong?"
"... Are you strong?"
"Yeah, am I strong," Alaistair reiterated for the questioning Demoness.
Eres blinked a couple of times, trying to contemplate what was being asked of her. Dorgia, the old crag-like demon that handled the front desk of the loft, and Arthus, Eres's twin brother who handled all sorts of various jobs, mainly serving and entertaining the civilians at the Lounge with his live 'band' (which was actually just him split into four individuals that transformed themselves into different people of stature, voice, and race), ended up walking over from the other side of the bar, where they'd been drinking, eating, and conversing about some fight that happened in the Casino's boxing ring.
"You've got to be kidding me about asking her about being strong, Ali boy," Arthus spoke condescendingly, "Last I checked, you wrested control of this place from the, 'previous owner,' and brought us on board with the hopes of making this place nicer than it was before, which ya have!"
Arthus was speaking about Alaistair having taken control of the Loft with a simple, not so idle threat from the three of them, with Arthus posing as the owner of the Cherry Valley Loft back when it was in the Western Capital. The red headed man laughed a bit, in disbelief, before stating, "Quite obviously you're joking! You wouldn't be trying to ask this unless you had some sort intent behind it! Damn insomniac without any control over-"
In a quick jab to Arthus's side with his elbow, Dorgia interrupted Arthus's ramblings, before stating, "While I don't exactly think the same as Arthus here..."
"Again with the damn jab to side..!"
"He makes a point that you've got a thought in mind about this question... Is it wrong to assume that?"
Alaistair puckered his lips, tilting his head before coming to nod. He looked at each one of them and asked them all, "How'd you guys like to have a go at me and get some stress outta your systems?"
All three leaned back, blinking for a moment and looking at each other! Arthus's face seemed to light up upon hearing the question, immediately wanting to say yes to it. Eres was speechless, while Dorgia seemed to develop a concerned expression. He asked him, "Are you wanting us to fight you?"
"Well, we've got a whole room to check out and test the equipment with, right," Alaistair told them, "We had it built into the Loft while we were still living on Konats! Granted, at the time, it was MUCH SMALLER than it is now, but since we've settled on Earth, we hadn't exactly done anything with it! Much less, a lot of the money we'd been getting had been towards Arthus's paycheck, which has yet to process for whatever reason... You did put it to your bank account, right?"
Arthus's face washed over with frustration, growling his despair at it while explaining, "Aye, that I had! However, for whatever holiday has been occurring... Probably Carnevale or something of the sort. It has had that process be delayed, so it won't OFFICIALLY be in the account until sometime in the next few days, I believe... HOWEVER, you wanted us to beat- fight you, aye?"
"Nice," Alaistair said that, partly sarcastically due to Arthus's returning excitement, "But yes, I'm giving you guys the chance to fight me, in the sparring sense. A two on two, to be precise, using that gravitational fighting ring in the gym area and some of the equipment there. I know that you guys have had some stress built up that's been showing in your work... Particularly with you, Dorgia, since you've been having to oversee the damages done to the hotel since that android girl came flying through in a fireball!"[/font]
"... That I have," Dorgia spoke with a twitch in his eye, "Thank you for reminding me! A few of my stones were knocked out of place just trying to contemplate that happening!"
Arthus patted Dorgia on the back, a fist raised up and telling him, "Ai, the big man's on board... Oh, you know what? We can also make this our nightly match, too!"
Eres seemed to still be speechlessly confused at this. Arthus and Dorgia seemed to be in agreeance to this already, while Alaistair still had yet to explain why this, all of a sudden. She verbally stabbed at Alaistair, "Are you going to explain why or do we have to get this beaten the hell outta you?! The hell's got your brain wrapped up that you're suggesting a brawl between the four of us?"
"What, is boredom not enough a answer for you, Eres," Alaistair asked her, stabbing back with his offer, "I know you've been wanting to slug me over the head a few times because of how things have been going in the kitchens! I'm not a blind-sided dolt. You've been wanting to break my nose because of a lot of idiots coming in and making a mess of your kitchens in the few weeks trying to get a job there!"
"Good point, but that isn't what this is about, is it?"
"Would you care if I told you?"
"Nah. However, considering how you brought us around the damn stars, I think we're entitled to know," Eres retorted! This did get Dorgia and Arthus to shut up, putting Alaistair on center stage!
Alaistair groaned, straightening himself out and stating, in a quiet tone, "I've had this plan... This formulated plan that I worked on for literally hundreds of thousands of years, and I try getting people under my hands. I, then, work my ass off to try and get everything needed to have us get stronger, we get killed because one of the guys I bring along can't keep his pride in his pants and we spend some more time back in hell, and when we go for round two because of the same guy, he takes my plan and stomps on it, after the hard work I put into him and I cannot keep him from doing that because he's stronger... Happened three more times in a row after that! I'm tired of that crap happening and I'm looking to get a lot stronger so I can blow up the bastards that try to step up... And keep doing that for as long as they keep trying to do that!"
The three didn't say anything after that. Alaistair looked at them, palms open, and asked insistently, "Can we go have that match now?"
