The harsh winds of what would be considered early morning for Namek were accompanied by a dark storm cloud above. Drops of water pelted the ground for the first time in a few months, feeding the flora and putting the Mazoku armies on high alert. Rain on Namek was no stranger, but it was not usually this heavy. A few of the more superstitious soldiers called the rain a bad omen; it brought cold winds, and soon, it would bring the enemy. Others called it no more than it was. Bad weather. It had to happen sometime. Even with three suns, Namek couldn't always be bright and blinding. Xylo heard none of this though. Currently, he was standing at the top of a large blackened stone plateau in the heart of the ancient Mazoku grounds. The round stone disc was littered with tombstones, arranged in rows of five. At the top, in its own row, was the last leader of the Mazoku; Lord Tuner, Xylo's father. Below his grave were the names of other brave Mazoku soldiers who'd given their lives in a great battle, or died from old age after an expansive life as a commander of an army. It was an honored group of names, and someday, Xylo would be buried right by his father. But today was not that day. In Xylo's hands was a body. The corpse belonged to his own son, Digeri. He'd died on Beppa, along with many other Namekian sons. The Mazoku Lord stared down at his son, and frowned. The strapping young man had been wrapped in a dark purple cloth, covering his body entirely like a mummy. The mystics of the clan used to tell Xylo that this was to ensure them safe passage to the Afterlife, but with what Xylo knew, he did it purely for tradition more than anything else. As the rain fell, Xylo's eyes turned to the skies. He'd invited only a few people to today's ceremony, and he desperately hoped they'd show up soon. His own son should be here to see his brother one last time, and Helix was family all the same. He'd give them an hour, but if they didn't come, he'd do it alone. For now, he waited, eyes turned back to the graves in front of him. This plateau was half-full already. Someday they'd need to erect a new one. Maybe they'd be lucky, and that day wouldn't come until long after the Mazoku Dominion had faded into obscurity.

Helix's walk into the northern scar was filled with heavy rain. There was little room for any sound outside of the constant torrent of water. Nai liked the rain, Helix had no taste for it. Worse still was the day: a nephew dead, one he'd never met to boot.
Alongside the guru was his lone warrior caste attendant Nori, the same one who stood outside of his palace nearly every day. Nori didn't mind the downpour—he'd been standing it all day—but he obliged the guru and carried a wide parasol, shielding the duo from nature. Helix may have had no taste for the rain, but Nori had no taste for the northern scar.
Eventually, the aging prophet paused and squinted his eyes, looking out at what must've been the place Xylo mentioned.
Nori had the same thought, and silently handed Helix the umbrella. "Oh," the prophet spoke quietly, "You don't mind waiting here, do you?"
"All's well," the warrior caste nodded gravely, "Go to Lord Xylo."
"Thank you."
Helix took the parasol and quietly trekked up the side of the plateau, only to find his brother waiting silently in the rain. Not wanting to disrespect his mourning, the guru reeled back the umbrella, hooking it at his side.
As he appeared next to his brother, the first drops of rain would begin to darken his robes, soon turning them heavy and leaden.

Gloomy. A single word would be a satisfactory descriptor for not only the weather but the mood that had been brought to Castle Mazoku. Those that had awoken early went about their business, some more cautiously and superstitiously than others. The special squad, hand picked by Sax; the Mazoku's second in command were of the former category. They all had jobs to do and for the sake of Namek's prosperity they would do their damnedest to fulfill their duties. The Kabochan siblings Kiribi and Keredi were put in charge of guard schedules and the shapeshifting lizard Somonon who was once quite the troublemaker had been set straight by Sax, had been given messenger duty. Their commander however, remained in his room for a while longer after sending out his orders. Now, storms generally put a dampener on some people's rest considering how sensitive Namekian ears could be but Sax had trained himself. Loud or high pitched noises meant nothing to him... Yet still, he could not sleep well. Looking over to Viola who was sleeping soundly, the lanky Namekian somewhat envied the little wizard. He hated to admit it, but the world outside was a lot more dreary than Sax would have liked it to be, for more reasons than just crappy weather...
Taking an opportunity during a moment where the rain had somewhat subsided, Sax donned his trademark Mazoku armor (that was thankfully fully waterproof as well as otherwise prepared for adverse environments) and headed out the front gates, taking flight towards the Northern Scar; specifically the Outer Plait. A tragedy had befallen the family. A brother had perished. One that despite being rough around the edges was actually not all that bad. Moments after Helix had arrived, so too did Sax. The rain began to fall harder as the lanky son of Xylo approached. A myriad of thoughts came to him as he did so. Who killed Digeri? Did they kill him in retaliation for killing someone? Were they killed in return, an eye for an eye? Yet most of all; burning harsher than Namek's three suns combined, one question was revisited time and time again. 'Why did dad let this happen?' Sax stood next to his father, on the opposite side to his uncle, and remained silent.

It wasn't long before more arrived. The first was Helix; punctual as ever, his brother was. The fissioned Guru simply arrived, saying nothing as he sheathed his umbrella. As the rain covered his robes, one of Xylo's living children would arrive. He too stood somberly, arriving without a word as the rainfall quickened its pace. Xylo looked at Sax, then to the sky. He frowned. Bassoon wasn't coming; he would have shown right alongside Sax. He didn't want to start without the tubby boy, but it had to be done.
Slowly, Xylo stepped forward, each motion creating small splashes in puddles forming below. There was already a grave carved out of the stone for Digeri, directly to the left of Xylo's father on the raised platform. He approached, and as he held Digeri's body over the hole, he let go.
Rather than the body plummeting and landing with a wet thud however, his son's body hovered patiently in the air thanks to the use of telekinesis. Kneeling over the grave, Xylo used his powers to carefully lower his son into the hole. It was a slow process, and perhaps a faster and more personal way would have been to hop into the hole and place him there by hand, but this method was tradition.
A few moments passed, before Digeri hit the bottom with a silent tap. There was silence for a moment, with nothing but the increasing tempo of the rainfall to keep the ear company.
Eventually, the Mazoku Lord had the courage to speak. His voice was shaky and wavering; unusual for such a confident man. "We are gathered here to mourn a terrible loss. Digeri, my son, was... A lot of things. He was foolish, stubborn, abrasive... But those traits are what made him the fighter he was. His stubborn nature led to fearlessness in combat; his foolishness was courage in disguise. It's times like these that make us remember how precious time is. Digeri may be able to return from the end one day, but it makes his passing no less painful."
Xylo paused, turning to the others. "Do either of you have final words?"

"Yes, father. I.. I think I do." Sax nodded as he carefully stepped forward. Ever so gently did he walk, so as to not even disturb the ground he walked on almost, until he could see what remained of his brother Digeri. There, Sax stood in silence for a moment. He had a great deal to think about, far too much to say and not exactly all the time in the world to let it all out and say it.
For a moment, the towering string bean of a Namekian would tremble, shake and near enough fall over out of anxiety; his own confidence waning much like Xylo's.
Before Sax began speaking, he took a deep breath. "Digeri. I don't know if you knew that we accepted you for who you were, but you went above and beyond... More than I ever could. Even then, you didn't feel like you were good enough. I wasn't there for you like I should have been." Sax knelt down, so that he could be just that bit closer to what remained of his brother in this realm. "Just know that I accepted you as you were; since I knew you cared for us."
Silence, there was naught but the rain for a good while. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you when you needed me."
