Tomoka could only grin as the trapped door opened, and as he fell for what felt like minutes, he finally hit the ground with a thud. He slowly floated upwards, shaking his cloud like form off a bit. “Well… this is odd.” he muttered, looking at the scenery before him. He had expected jagged rocks, lakes of lava, rain of fire, and a body that would be incinerated perpetually for all eternity. Instead, he was standing, well, floating, besides a fountain of blood red water. He approached it, not entirely sure if it were actually blood, and if it were, he wouldn’t be surprised. This was apparently hell, so there was bound to be SOME gruesome scenery. Though this wasn’t exactly gruesome at all, however…
As Tomoka floated, he began to wonder how he would successfully escape this place. This was where the overwhelming majority of the dead were, after all, and he knew that his master had escaped this place, and it was very likely that when he had, he had next to none of the power he had presently, and that was a helluva lot of power. Still, it couldn’t be easy to not only retrieve a body when you had none, and then to escape from hell and return to the living world. Which was why Tomoka decided that he would wait to see if anyone, anyone at all, would come. He was going to need help, that much was clear, and since he had no way of knowing where to search, he wouldn’t search at all. He’d wait for anyone with a physical form, and then he’d ask them. It would all work out, it would all work out…
0600 hours later-
"What do you mean there's no way I can find a body?! There has to be SOME way I can get out of this damned cloud form." Tomoka growled, frustrated by the soul's ineptitude. "Look, I haven't seen anyone with a body that WASN'T an ogre since I kicked the bucket. Best you stop searching for something that isn't there kid, before ya wind up finding something you didn't want to see." The soul would say, before floating off in the opposite direction. "Some help all of you have been..." he muttered, thinking of the dozen souls he had ran into while waiting at this odd looking pond.
Tomoka was having minor difficulties finding what he was looking for. Everyone he met consisted either of other soles of every race, every creed, every type conceivable, or he met the red and blue annoying bastards who ran the show. “Ogres” was what they called themselves, and he found them frequently as they walked by the blood fountain, which Tomoka floated by. He wondered exactly why these creatures possessed bodies when every other that had died HADN’T. Still, he wouldn’t complain, as no harm had come to him. In fact, he was rather surprised by the manners of most of the people he had met. He had expected that hell would be a place of violence, where the worst of the worst were sent to pay for eternity. Instead, it seemed like hell was where normal people just went to have normal lives after the lives they had in the living world ended, which was why Tomoka was a tad surprised that he had been sent here, instead of farther into the depths. But it seemed most who died were sent here, so Tomoka would have the most amount of people to choose from. Now, if only he could find someone with a body…
1400 hours later-
"Well, you have a body! How the HERE did you get that?!" he said, pissed by the ogre's response. "I was BORN with it moron! Look, only a few I've heard of have EVER reclaimed their physical forms after dying, and even fewer have managed to put them to use, or return to the living world, and I have no idea how ANY of them managed to pull it off. So I doubt that you'll find anyone who could help ya kid, because what you're looking for, you won't find." the ogre would say, before stomping off in the opposite direction, and Tomoka silently cursed for thinking these idiots could help him. The ones in heaven seemed like they genuinely knew shit, but the ones down in hell seemed like a bunch of bumbling idiots who didn't know the difference between left and right.
Luck had, once again, not graced Tomoka. It seemed as if searching was required at this point, but he had no idea exactly how BIG hell truly was. Who knew how long it would take him to find someone who could lead him to a body? It would probably take a ridiculously long time, but still, he wanted to try his luck. Nothing bad had happened so far, and he doubted simply waiting here would lead to anything terrible. But he could only wonder how much time was passing in the living world… could YEARS be going by with each passing day? Could he be wasting time, waiting for something that would never come? No, it was likely the living world and hell were at the same rate of time change, likely that only hours had passed since his death. Besides, if it were true that years were passing as he stayed here, than Xylo must be older than recorded history, since he probably spent months in hell…
4800 hours later-
Tomoka's form began to tremble, his breathes growing heavy. He stared as another cloud walked away, one of possibly a hundred that hadn't a word that could help him. How long had he been waiting here? How long had he been trying to find ANYONE who could help him? "To long..." He muttered, before his thoughts began to become words. "Not a single one with a single word, a single phrase or expression, not a single answer that could help, not a single answer that can deliver me to salvation. Not a single one, not a single one, but there is a single answer. An answer that boils down to the fact that..." Tomoka would say, before inhaling,
“NOBODY HAS A FUCKING BODY!” he finally shouted, floating as his cloud like form floated upwards, almost appearing as flames as Tomoka’s rage grew. How was it that he had spent over 2 days waiting in a place that was probably one of the most popular places in hell, while finding literally NOONE that could help him? God must have been against him, that was it. That Yemma was making it so he would NEVER find someone who could lead him to a body by WAITING! This was a test, a divine test. That HAD to be it! The man upstairs, in all his ego, was doing what he always did, and-
Tomoka blinked with his non existent eyes, realizing that the waiting must be driving him mad. At this point, if he waited any longer, he’d probably forget why he was waiting in the first place. He sighed, before finally beginning to float away from the godforsaken fountain, headed to find someone who could get him what he wanted.
