Thread PL: Suppressed Form active! 20% Bonus Tagging Glaze(Logic) in case he wants to join in! The storm seems to be passing by, as the rainfall slows to a mere sprinkle. The situation here is about as Taiga had expected; no matter where he searches, it is evident that these damnable pirates had stripped as much as they conceivably could in the time they had been here.
Eventually, Taiga manages to get lucky; a military bunker that was still fairly intact seems to have survived the expansive looting. If anything, it was more likely that Taiga and Glaze's arrival had interrupted the pirates' searching. Given his extensive history with working on the technology during his tenure as a Communications Officer, he found little challenge in figuring a way to patch into the computer systems and give them a temporary charge.
"Well then, let's see what happened." Taiga mutters, splicing several wires together. A small screen flickers to life, and the static audio begins to play. Screams can be heard, as well as the sounds of Ki Cannons being fired at an unseen enemy. A strange screeching assaults Taiga's hearing... something he had heard not that long ago!
The Arcosian General keeps watching, his eyes narrowing. Without the various species of the AE Army to assist them, the Kanassan's had resorted to trying to figure out how to defend themselves. Some of the audio suggests that they had, to some degree, managed to hold back the screaming monstrosity that hunts them. Eventually, the fish-face of on such Kanassan appears on the screen.
"Hello?! Is anyone out there?! Kanassa is under attack! It's killing everyone!!" the Kanassan pleads. "Please, someone, anyone, send hel-AAAAUGH!!"
Blood suddenly spatters in the recording, a white object forcing itself through the alien with less effort than it takes to cut through breading. The video shakes violently, but a pure white creature becomes quite visible. Taiga immediately pauses the video, and stares silently at the creature. He had seen this thing before... hadn't he? Unable to quite pinpoint where, Taiga saves the video to a small disk drive, and lets the computer die once more.
A smirk appears on Taiga's face as he pockets the disk under the collar of his armor. He turns and leaves the bunker, his question now answered. While he does not know specifically who or what this creature is, its ability to slaughter is evident. Whether or not it could be useful to his still forming plans is yet to be determined.
"How interesting..." Taiga muses to himself, clasping his hands behind his back as he exits the structure. "A bit over zealous, but... interesting."

It would seem that searching for further physical evidence has indeed proved futile; the weeks, or perhaps even months of looting has clearly seen that the world had been picked clean of anything resembling the mechanical skull Taiga had discovered upon his return to the living realm.
The storm had finally passed, and parts of his ship's crew had begun the strenuous task of collecting the corpses of the dead pirates and smugglers. The task would likely take hours; not that Taiga would complain. The bodies are hauled into a wide street, where they are then tossed into a makeshift fire pit to cremate the remains. Not the most pleasant smell in the galaxy, but it was better than leaving them to rot in holes and ruined buildings.
Thus far, Taiga had been left alone to his thoughts. He muses to himself silently, thinking back on Koldar's outburst against aiming to achieve a higher form. Koldar is wrong, obviously. Both in his ignorant presumption that the Royal Clan could not already utilize the suggested form, and wrong for openly and violently reacting to Taiga's suggestion that he is not worthy of leading the Arcosian Empire.
"What empire..?" Taiga audibly scoffs. While Koldar, and possibly the others he has met, cannot accept that the Arcosian Empire had fallen completely, the truth was not so blinding to Taiga. If anything, its fall may work to Taiga's advantage. He only needed to find a way to capitalize on this unique situation.
And then there was the matter of the Saiyan knowing Taiga by name. She clearly understood who he was during the battle. Additionally, she mentioned that devil, Alaistair, as well as another being whom Taiga does not know, Plato. It was all very curious, but the Arcosian General is able to piece together a fair idea. Alaistair had clearly been in contact with the Saiyan Solar Empire, if not just that particular Saiyan itself. And if the two knew each other, how does that fact coincide with the invasion? A grim prospect would be that Alaistair pressed some idea of importance to the Saiyans that the Arcosian Empire was rebuilding.
But why they chose to attack Arcose, and not their primary enemy directly, eludes Taiga. From a tactical stand point, it both made some sense, and no sense at all. Why attack a vulnerable world? Because it would send a message to Xylo, obviously. And so it did. Taiga touches his forefinger and thumb to his chin. With Alaistair involved, does this change the meaning of this war? The devil would stand to gain considerably from creating multiple alliances, all the while keeping those allies ignorant of each other. Deceitful, but nonetheless effective.
Perhaps he simply was overthinking things, but Taiga rather doubts that. The most straightforward way to get an answer would be to speak with Alaistair; or perhaps speak with the Saiyans themselves. A most dangerous prospect, but not an impossible one. And if Alaistair had indeed turned on Taiga, this would be the best path to turning it around on the Devil. The thought brings a cruel grin to Taiga's face. Although, this was all speculation; all of which worth investigating.
Is it worth his life to investigate? Probably not, no. But given Taiga's understanding of death, he finds little to fear. This thought also makes Taiga chuckle; Koldar seemed to be terrified of death, and even went as far as to mask it as fear for the people. Arcosians were supposed to be the mightiest race of beings in the universe; if they can't stand and fight for their lives, then they are worthless.
Taiga begins walking through the streets of this ruined city, recalling memories of a time when it bustled with activity. Now, it is a mere ghost of its former self.
"Perhaps I should kill Koldar." Taiga muses to himself as he walks. "Once he has been sent to Hell; perhaps the challenge of regaining his body and escaping Hell will unveil the truth to him. Hm... Or perhaps not."
Taiga doubts he would succeed in killing Koldar to make this point, but at least the possibility was there.

His arms were being held firmly on his side while soaring through the air in a redish streak. After finishing his part of the planet's cleansing he was sure he needed to meet back up with Comman Taiga. He was fighting with himself internally to find the realization as to why he allowed such beings to escape. Flashing back towards the old man that had his arms outstretched in the form of a human shield, and the kids hunkering behind him. Seeing their fear, such innocence, he knew without a doubt that killing them would leave a peramanent stain on his life. Even slightly wishing that they made it to wherever their next destination would be.
Snapping back into reality, he realized that he was slacking a bit in his flight. His thoughts clouding his abilities, something he could not let happen too often as it already has. Shaking the thought off, he picked up his pase muscles tensing as his flight sped up. "I should be getting to Commander Taiga soon." Unaware that Taiga already proceed on doing things on his own accord. Seeing a large bulging trail of smoke accumlating in the distance, and upon getting closer he found himself getting rammed into by the stench of burning flesh. It surely was a new smell, enough to leave a distasteful look on his face. But that was all.
He finally reached the point where he could sense Taiga's energy without the aid of his scouter. Stopping his flight and slowly ascending down onto the dirt, finding himself staring face to face with an Abandoned Military Bunker. Taiga's energy being sensed inside. Glaze turned to take in his surroundings a bit before walking towards the door, surprised a bit to see that Taiga was already making his way out as he took his first step. But it seems that Taiga was too deep in thought to even notice his presence. "What exactly did he find in there?"
Taiga's small mumbles followed by a low laugh, it was strange from Glaze's point of view. Slowly making his way towards him as Taiga was mumbling somemore with the notion of putting two fingers on his chin. It seemed he was was seriously in thought, Taiga taking a couple of steps forward.
"Commander Taiga." Glaze interrupted stopping where he was with his arms down by his side. Hearing the sounds of idle chatter going off in the distance as memebers of the ship kept throwing bodies down into the flaming pit.

Taiga's private musings are, thankfully, interrupted as Cadet Glaze lands and approaches him, but it is not until the soldier speaks to him that Taiga turns to look at him.
"Ah, Cadet, good that you've arrived." Taiga replies, a friendly grin on his face. "The operation has been a moderate success. Kanassa has returned to our control, and the pirates have been eliminated."
The Arcosian General reaches under the collar of his armor, producing a small computer drive card and shows it.
"It turns out that the Kanassans attempted to communicate a plea for help." Taiga explains, putting the drive card back in place under his collar. "As if the damage to the city wasn't proof enough, someone indeed attacked and wiped them out. But the video transmission gives us a good clue as to who, or what, committed the act."
Taiga looks briefly at the burning bodies collecting in the pit, silent for a short moment, before looking back at Glaze.
"Your performance was exemplary; some do not have the stomach or the gall to enact their orders to eliminate the enemy completely." Taiga tells the Cadet. "You performed your orders to the letter, and such is to be rewarded. Your actions have earned you the promotion from Cadet to Specialist. This is not a significant rank, but holding it acknowledges your skill and aptitude. Strive higher, and one day you may lead our forces into battles as well."

Nodded as Taiga finally gave him a greeting as he seemed to have finally noticed his approach. Watching as Taiga reached underneath his collar to bring out what appeared to be a small component. Like a flashdrive. "Is that what he went in there for?" Glancing up as Taiga, who gave an explanation of what he was able to piece together and the information he found. Motioning the flashdrive in the air like a beacon of hope, it seemed the information it contained was crucial.
His expression changed from a serious glance, to a slight look of surprise. Hearing that he was now promoted, he returned Taiga as he continued to give him praise for his performance. "Thank you." Glaze stated, short and sweet. He was never really much of a talker, so this would have to do for now. One thing however crossed his mind, as he watched Taiga put the flashdrive back under his collar. Glaze's eyes trailing from his commander, to the ground below. An image of the oldman and the kids who he allowed to escape kept reappearing.
Forcing his eyes shut to block out the image, he looked up towards Taiga, changing the subject. "You said a video transmission showed you who exactly caused all this chaos. Who was it?" From what he could tell as they entered, this place was a bit too damaged and desolent, even for pirates. Whoever attacked this place previously seemed all for full on destruction, fueled hatred and rage. Maybe It woulda been better for them to ask one of the pirates before the killed him off. Glaze attention adverted toward the fire pit as more bodies were getting dumped into it without a second hesitation. "I guess it can't be helped now. We can't ask a dead person."

"The recording wasn't clear enough to make an absolute determination." Taiga replies to the Specialist. "There was a brief moment where the culprit, or one of them, was in view. I will have to take it back to Arcose for proper review."
Taiga clasps his hands behind his back, once more taking a moment. Suddenly, his scouter beeps with an alarm. Taiga's left hand shoots up to hit the device's button.
"General Taiga, come in!" came a worried voice.
"This is General Taiga, speak." Taiga replies quickly.
"Sir, the planet Yardrat has fallen under attack, and Supreme Commander Koldar Frost has ordered you to the planet." the voice informs him.
"I had the impression that Yardrat was already under the control of the Saiyan Solar Empire?" Taiga inquires.
"They did; this attack is being orchestrated by the Mazoku Dominion." the voice answers.
Taiga's brow furrows; not from anger, but intrigue. So, the Mazoku Dominion sought to take up planets stolen from the Arcosian Empire by the Saiyan Solar Empire... Was this a matter of taking the planet back for the Arcosian Empire, or as a matter of taking the planet for themselves? Either way, ultimately it doesn't matter.
"Additionally, sir, we've received reports that the Dominion soldiers have attacked and destroyed Arcosian holdout positions on the planet." the voice continues, immediately pulling Taiga's attention back.
"Why did they do that?" Taiga asks urgently.
"We do not know, currently." the voice replies. "But Supreme Commander Koldar has determined that the issue must be dealt with and is en-route to Yardrat himself. And, as you heard, he has ordered you to join him there."
Taiga's eyes narrow. Had the supposed alliance between the Arcosian Empire and the Mazoku Dominion broken down? Was Koldar actually foolish enough to possibly attack Mazoku soldiers? If Xylo had determined that those holdouts were hostile, then his authority would permit their destruction. But whether Koldar accepted that or not is unknown. But this was not the only issue; if he leaves, Kanassa will be vulnerable to attack. And, as far as Taiga is aware, there is no one available to garrison the planet. Glaze could, perhaps, but leaving the Specialist completely alone on the planet with no support is unacceptable.
"Understood." Taiga replies, his voice terse. "But inform the Supreme Commander that by redirecting me, he leaves Kanassa undefended. I recommend that a force is dispatched to garrison Kanassa in my absence."
"I will pass on the recommendation to the Supreme Commander. Good luck, General Taiga." the voice confirms before cutting the transmission.
Taiga turns to Glaze.
"Specialist Glaze, it seems that our strength is needed. The planet Yardrat, which was until recently a member world of our empire before the Saiyan Solar Empire conquered it, has again come under attack." Taiga explains, oddly calm. "The Mazoku Dominion has elected to send its own soldiers to take the planet, evidently without informing our forces to conduct a mutual strike force. Casualties evidently include civilians and hold out bases of Arcosian Empire troops."
Taiga clasps his hands behind his back.
"The Mazoku Dominion soldiers declared the hold outs as hostiles; either because they do not recognize Mazoku authority, or had become break aways from our empire. I am inclined to believe the former, and that the Mazoku soldiers acted rashly." Taiga continues. "Regardless of their reasoning, Supreme Commander Koldar Frost is on his way to Yardrat as we speak, and has ordered that we do the same." Glaze(Logic)

Eyes trailed away from Taiga as he finished his explanation to examine the flaming pit. "I guess it would be safe to assume then. The individual who did this can be seen as an enemy." Getting lost in his own train of thought his attention was adverted towards Taiga, hearing the familiar sound of a scouter beeping.
Unable to hear who exactly was on the other side of the line, he could only get slight bits of the conversation. Something along the lines of Planet Yardrat, from what he knew previously it was under the rule of the Arcosian Empire, but it seemed that too has changed like everything else. Hearing Taiga mention that it was now under rule of the of Saiyan Solar Empire. Other than that the only giveaways he had about the seriousness of the conversation was from Taiga's facial expressions.
"One thing after another." Glaze murmured to himself while his arms remained held to his side, even had a thought about going to wander around the planet.
"Specialist Glaze, it seems that our strength is needed."
To his surprise he saw that the comment was directed at him, and that Taiga was now finished with his scouter conversation. It seemed they were getting moved to help aid another planet which now seems more like hostile territory. While Taiga was giving Glaze a sum up of what was to come, he couldn't help but to question. "I found out before we left that we were allied with The Mozoku Dominon so hearing that they attacked fellow Arcosian soldiers. Hmm..it could of just an accident. But." He turned to look in the direction of Taiga. "What if it was on purpose?" He couldn't help but question the matter of why such an act was done, but maybe it was his own lack of information that led to such a thing. " I know I'm in no position to ask, but can we really trust them?"
From there he would see what Taiga had to say on the matter, but it was not like he had an option anyway. No matter how Taiga responded, Glaze would nod and follow. Hearing that Commander Frost was on his way to the planet as well proved even more interesting, as it felt like it's been forever since he's seen Frost aswell.

Taiga considers Glaze's question for what may have been a full minute. It was a good question; could they trust the Mazoku Dominion? Taiga takes another moment to figure a proper way to answer, and then smirks at the Specialist.
"No, we cannot trust them." Taiga replies, though his tone is oddly more amused than concerned. "For that matter, neither should we trust our current Supreme Commander to act in a calm, decisive manner."
Taiga tilts his head to the left and right, audibly cracking his neck to release some tension in the muscles. He looks to the pyre as the last bodies are tossed unceremoniously into the pit.
"Which is why going to Yardrat is in our best interest." Taiga continues. "Koldar Frost is impulsive, quick tempered, and has misplaced loyalties. His way of leadership endangers the very people he claims he fights to protect; but he often chooses to lash out at the wrong people."
Taiga motions to Glaze to follow him as he starts walking in the direction of The Tyrannical, clearly in no particular hurry.
"We only just reclaimed this planet, so we shall rest before going to Yardrat." Taiga informs the Specialist. "It will take time for reinforcements to arrive to Kanassa. Only once the planet has been properly secured will we take our leave. Come; we return to the ship until they arrive."
With that, I take my leave of the thread! Glaze(Logic), you're up!

"No we cannot trust them."
Even going so far as to say they could not trust Commander Frost, the both of them gazing towards the fiery pit as the last remaining bodies were thrown into it. Nodding as Taiga began giving his own insight on making sure the planet was secured before heading off on their next mission. It made him question however, what was Taiga's motives. As Taiga started walking away Glaze remained behind a bit and stood there, staring at his commander. " So what is it you want Taiga." Glaze thought to himself, Taiga was too difficult of a person to figure out. Whether he ran of civil duty, or personal benefit, or both. Quite the character. Before Taiga had a chance of getting too to far, Glaze started walking behind him. He didn't need to rest, but the idea of it was nice. Not like they had anything else to do.
