After loading off his list of requirements Jiji perched on his crystal ball like a fat bird. His squinty eyes sized up the ragtag group, until one of them finally spoke. The fat cat was furious! Jiji crossed his arms and turned around on his crystal ball, giving him a rather petty silent treatment as he went on and on about how angry he was. Finally, he agreed to head off and get the herbs.
"Eh? Make sure you come back in time then!" Jiji turned around and hollered as the cat walked away. He didn't have time to spend all day waiting for these youngsters… Maybe he could sneak in a nap between their visiting hours. Although those herbs did sound very enticing.
The goat seemed much more reasonable. Jiji could even say he was taking a liking to him, and it wasn't just because his Kili reading was so high! The floating sword had a few choice words to say and the fortuneteller squinted at him as he rattled off his warning.
"If I was trusting my instincts for this dust bowl," Jiji began with a wheezing chuckle, "I would've tossed you lot hours ago!"
He scratched his beard with a smile. If it was good enough for the coppers, it was good enough for him! "Alright then, I'll see you youngsters in a few hours. Don't be late, you hear!?"
He gave a warm wave to the goat and then watched as the rest of the posse departed.
Finally, Jiji was all alone in his new palace! What would the fortuneteller do first? Rummage through the cabinets, looking for some delicious canned prunes? Search the library for pictures of pretty ladies? Go for a dip in the pond? Whizz across the desert planes?
Er— What's that?
Before he got a chance to do anything, Jiji fell asleep on his crystal ball, plopping onto the ground with a loud snore and a snot bubble puffing up from his nostril!
