The sweet smell of flame-roasted pork wafted enticingly through the air, mingling with the mist of the small clearing Ryder called home as she tended a spit over her firepit. Skewered above the flame was a mid-sized wild pig of a good size to feed her for a few days. It was with great caution that she operated the spit, slowly roasting the pig without allowing any skin to split for as long as possible. In her left hand Ryder wielded a wok, ready to react the instant such a split appeared as it inevitably would. Over her favored blue workout wear, Ryder wore a simple buckskin apron. When at last the moment arrived Ryder reacted with practiced precision, swinging the wok beneath the split and capturing the falling grease. Once she had the majority the woman set that aside for later and continued to roast the pig, forcefully rubbing various seasonings deep into the flesh. Once finished, the woman hoisted the entire spit off its cooking rack and onto a cooling rack. Her wok filled with diverse vegetables and armed with a wooden spoon, Ryder set about stir-frying a hearty sidedish to go with the pig. Little did she realize that an old friend was on her way.... The air was clean and crisp as Aina was flying across the sky. Her ship was being retrofitted once more as per regulations so she was heading off through the air toward the home of someone she hoped was the correct person. Taking a moment she stopped in mid air and pressed the button on her scouter. As it slid into place she would look at the map that was ingrained on the blue visor. She was still on the correct path toward the location and she hoped that this was truly the right way.
Landing upon the ground about a hundred yards away from her location she would walk toward the location marked on the map. Pressing the button once more she made the scouter vanish back off to the side of her head and she would begin to move back toward the supposed house. As she neared the spot of the house she stopped. That was when she noticed the large pig being hefted into the air with ease through the trees. Watching it be moved to obviously another position nearby she knew that this had to be the correct location.
Emerging from the treeline about twenty yards or so behind Ryder she would smile as she recognized the figure from behind. “And here I hope that you have plenty for an old war buddy coming to visit.” Letting her voice ring out Aina hoped that Ryder would recognize her instantly as she would be slowly walking up toward her.

At the now all too familiar sound of a stranger emerging into her clearing Ryder snapped into action. Spinning to face the interloper with her boot heel as a pivot, the woman dropped into a crouch as she pointed one hand out in the form of a 'finger gun', chaotic qi spiraling forth around the fingertip as though eager to unleash destruction upon the waiting target.
Ryder did not neglect to carefully lay the wok down without spilling with her other hand even as she inspected her intruder through the metaphorical 'sights' of her fingergun.
"Aina!?"
A look of pleasant surprise crossed Ryder's face as she recognized the uninvited- albeit very welcome- guest.
"You ought to remember my appetite, I can starve with the best of them when the need arises but this girl loves her grub. A full plate for an old friend is no sweat off my back. Get your skinny little butt over here and have a seat."
Carefully Ryder dispersed the Qi she had gathered before pointing to a space not far from the fire. Hastily she returned to the task she had begun, frying the massive pile of mixed veggies with practiced precision.
"It's been a long time Aina, well over a year since the old force disbanded. What brings you all the way out here to my humble home?"
Pausing a moment for emphasis- her voice turning serious in a way that only someone familiar with her would be able to tell was not- Ryder asked one final question. A question that- if someone were to take it seriously- would seem rather stupid in light of the way she'd discarded her Qi to cook instead.
"I'm not on some hitlist am I?"
OOC: I humbly beg your forgiveness for the delay. I had a massive dose of writer's block slam into me out of nowhere [made worse by horrible human beings that call themselves my family.] I hope you'll forgive me, and that we can get into a proper grove of at least one post per person per day [more if we can make it =D]

Aina waved at Ryder as she approached her hand only dropping back to her side as she got closer. Raising her voice up so that she could be heard she would be certain that Ryder knew it really was her. “Good to see that you still remember me Ryder. Been long enough since those days in the mud of boot camp and the muck filled hell of some of those missions of ours.”
With the look of pleasant surprise on Ryder’s face meant that Aina had accomplished what she had wanted. To come out and surprise someone that she had called a close friend once in the past. Though the sudden creation of ki had caught her a little off guard. Yet it was not unexpected especially with the shared past the two of them had. Rolling her shoulder lightly she moved to give her old comrade an assist with things just as she had back in the past.
As Ryder mentioned her appetite Aina could not help but laugh. It was true the hybrid could not forget just how voracious an appetite that Ryder had back in the days that they only had MRE’s to eat the pair of them would be the ones to eat the entire package and clean up the stuff from other members of the squad. Moving she would actually move to take a seat and as she did she would turn the badge of the BBA on her shoulder as she removed the first of the belts that held her ki knives around her waist. Setting aside the collection of knives she would respond to the question.
“Was doing some research up on those who just joined the BBA. Saw your name pop up in a few of the reports. Wanted to see what it was my old friend was up to. Especially after all of this time being a ghost.”
Her response stopped as she heard her ask if she was on a hitlist. Aina would raise a finger to her chin and think. “I know we both are still on a few of the hit lists created in the underworld but those are for things we did a long while ago. The BBA does not really dwell on our pasts when they recruit. Or at least they didn’t when they extended me the offer to join about a year or so ago. Right before that invasion by the Saiyan Solar Empire. I happened to join up just in time to get dragged into the midst of that nonsense. My knives got a decent workout saving a number of people.”
Shrugging she would take another few moments to think about if either of them were actually upon a hit list with the BBA. Knowing her position within KAOS was pretty secure she was certain she was not on one. Ryder however she did not know as old elements of the old Earthen Military where not kept track of all that often.

“Well that’s not creepy or anything, keeping tabs on enlistment like that. Makes me feel like I have a stalker again. But at least this one isn’t obsessed with my body.... right? Our bond back then was based on our shared experiences and the comeraderie of being the only women in our unit...” Thinking back on it, Ryder had always had the impression- true or false though it may be- that Aina was a little more open... a little friendlier with her than the rest. “... not because of attraction, right?” Letting the question hang with a casual chuckle, Ryder added the greens to her giant wok, coming into the final streches of the cooking procedure. Even after frying most of the moisture out, that wok still contained damned near two gallons of vegetables, Bamboo Shoots, waterchestnut, watercress, Daikon Radish, Salad Mallow, Sweet Potato greens and tubers, hot peppers and taro seasoned with black pepper, sechuan pepper and a pinch of salt. “Aina I managed to squeak into KAOS, did you really think hitlists of the mortal realm would concern me? Besides, since when did we leave enough evidence behind for anyone to put an actual hit on us? On our general unit name maybe, but on us as individuals? I’d have to see it to believe it.” With the food finished Ryder removed the wok from the flame and laid it on bare earth not far from the roast pig. The woman made her way over to the side of her house and grasped two large half-cilinder bamboo bowl/plates and two pairs of simple chopsticks. “Fill your plate, grab a chunk of pig and pig out” were all the words Ryder spoke as she tossed a set of tableware to Aina with a flick of the wrist. Aina shrugged as Ryder called it creepy that she was watching the enlistment of those that came into the BBA. For Aina it made sense as she would know of those that where more than a little unsavory. Due to all of her contacts inside of the underworld she would know if a name was a pseudonym for a trained killer or someone looking to try and milk the BBA of funds or supplies. She would rat them out rather quickly or make them disappear inside of accidents while they trained. Though the next part made Aina’s mouth turn into a wicked little smirk.
“That I am going to have to leave within your imagination on whether or not there was attraction within my head back when we were working together.” Aina spoke rather softly and smirked at her as she spoke as her tone was normal. Obviously holding what exactly was within her mind to herself as she heard Lhinith poke her and basically yell at her within her own mind about playing with a friend inside of such a way. The chuckle however would bring her back from arguing with the goddess and back to reality.
Watching Ryder make the vegetables she smiled widely as she realized that this was going to be delectable. Though once more Lhinith was asking her why it was she was thinking she could eat meat. Wasn’t she intolerant of the meat like her mother and Emer where? Aina would grasp the bowl and chopsticks with a simple thanks to Ryder as she responded internally to Lhinith. :: I am half saiyan Lhinith. So meat is actually not fatal to me. I cannot eat as much as a Saiyan or human can but I can at least enjoy some of it. ::
Reaching over with one of her knives she would cut off a small piece of the pig with the razor sharp knife and toss it into the bowl for herself. Walking over she would then toss a large collection of the vegetables into the bowl alongside it. “True. We never did leave all that much evidence behind. Heck even if we did most of the time it was just in the remains of those we killed or indications that we had to send in order to get confirmation to our handlers the mission was a success. I will admit I do not miss having to send in reports all the time to a handler only to have them rewrite it for the higher ups. KAOS is so much more relaxed then that. Sure we send in reports but it seems that Cipher is not really all that squeamish. Allows me to tell him exactly what happened and in what manner.”
She was obviously swaying the conversation away from the previous one about her possible attraction to the fellow soldier. As to her somethings were better left unsaid and hidden behind certain shields.
