Iroh had been walking for several hours now ever since he left his home. No... No, not hours... Probably days, at best. A day? No, maybe two. Bah, it didn't matter. All it mattered was that he had walked for quite some time now. In such a period of time, he met a young man who wanted to invite him to participate in some sort of punching sport, beat down a champion of said sport in one single punch and eventually visited some parts of Satan City. The latter fact, although true, however, remains incomplete for now, as he only had the chance to visit some of the downtown parts of the city. Even then, he barely understood where he was going and so quickly got lost. He was lucky to have been able to leave the city again, but it seems as though he went back to this bloody forest in the process, the very forest he had previously left due to his failed attempt to meditate thanks to one of the local bears.
It was clear that he was not really happy of actually coming back, but he wasn't really angry or disappointed either. He was just neutral. He didn't care about being here, but he really wanted to go elsewhere so he could visit more places than this. All this place has is a bunch of trees and angry animals, from the looks of it, and that does not really interest him at all. To this day, he has never met an animal capable of using Ki, so fighting any of them in self-defence was a pure waste of time. At least the squirrels were friendly... Well, the most of them that didn't want to bite his fingers off whenever they were close to their precious food.
In any case, if there was one thing he could not ignore anymore, it was indeed the fact that he was starting to get hungry. When he left his parents' home, he had eaten a full breakfast before leaving. Although simple, it had done the job of being sufficient: a toasted grill cheese sandwich - as Humans call it - alongside an apple. Soon after, he ate a banana. None of the stuff originated from Planet Ingot, but he got used to it over the years. Rather ironically, most of the Human food tastes much better than anything he ate back on his home planet, which mostly were either canned or in rations. The children of Ingot, whom are constantly training for battle, are not allowed to have any sorts of good-looking or even fine-tasting food at all. No, all they needed, instead, was something that would allow them to survive alongside water. At least, the water here is similar to Ingot's.
A groan from his stomach then was heard and, for a moment, he remained stunned, one hand holding onto a nearby tree. Oh, this was starting to become quite bad. He hadn't eaten for quite a while now. Seeing as his body is well-trained, he could survive a few days without eating, but... those days are now over. He needed to find something to eat. Thankfully, this forest must have the essential. As long as it is not poisoned, the food must even taste good too, and that was enough for Iroh to let out a sigh of relief.
"Alright... Just need to find a berry or something... Must be somewhere around h-"
Before he could go on and finish his sentence, he suddenly felt something hit his shoulder. He blinked, feeling the projectile pinch the skin underneath his jacket, then stared at it as it fell onto the ground in silence. He lifted an eyebrow eventually, crouching down to grab onto the thing, then started inspecting it.
"Huh..."
This thing... It looks man-made. There's no way something as primitive as an animal would have been able to craft something like this. It looked like... those things he saw on those green plastic "billboards", as Humans refer them to. "Arrows", they called them. Aren't they supposed to be white, though, and not made out of wood? Something feels wrong here... Did somebody attack him? After all, it did hurt. Well, not that much, but he could still feel the littlest of pain slowly subside away from his shoulder. He looked left, then right, blinking once more with his tired expression, then called.
"Anyone there?"
He stared at the trees in front of him, then slowly turned his body as to give himself a good look of his surroundings. He blinked, then rubbed the back of his head, still holding onto whatever was thrown towards him. For a moment, he thought that this thing might have actually come from completely out of nowhere, like it was magical or something, but, logically, he knew that there must be someone hiding around him, thinking that he was some sort of animal. A hunter, perhaps? Maybe. His parents are used to hunt every now and then, bringing animals back to their home with their necks snapped. It wasn't really hard to do, especially if you had mastered Ki. For "pacifists", Iroh had always found them completely merciless when it comes to animals... but that is not the focus here.
Suddenly, however, he felt something. Something... weird, unusual. It was a sensation at the back of his mind that he could feel, but not correctly describe. It was the exact sensation he felt when near his parents. He slowly looked towards a bunch of trees and bushes to his right, his eyes blinking, then pointed towards it with a faint smile on his face.
"Hey... You can use Ki...?"
Huh... How... anti-climactic. There was a person here able to use Ki, and yet, he did not feel scared at all despite the fact that it was probably this person that threw this weird wooden thing. In fact, he felt happy. Finally, he had met someone that could use Ki on this damn planet-!
Before he could cry in joy, he suddenly heard another groan from his stomach and stopped, holding onto it with both hands as he deadpanned, staring at the ground. Oh boy, he felt hungry. Super, super hungry. He really needs food. Now.
"Uh... Do you... have any food, perhaps...? I know you're right there... I can sense your Ki..."

From where she knelt crouched in the brush a good 120 meters away, Ryder watched on as- to her great surprise- a human-like voice came from her target zone. Whoever this guy was, he was tough. That throw had been amplified by a bit of ki and intended to take down a full sized buck or boar and he didn’t even yelp. Cautiously Ryder observed as the man surveyed his surroundings. Well camouflaged with mud stuck to her body and twigs with leaves and such stuck to her mud, there was no way he’d see her from this distance unless she moved. It was then he commented on her ability to use Ki- exposing his ability to sense it in the process- and demonstrated the most unusual of expressions. His countenance turned from confused to... happy? ~ Please tell me this weirdo isn’t some kind of freakishly powerful fighting fanatic like Tulip. The last thing I need is someone way above my weight class pushing me to try to get me to ‘show my real power’ or even just bugging me to spar.~ Before she could carry that thought any further... however... a strange muffled sound reached Ryder’s ears. At this distance even she couldn’t identify it, but the fact she couldn’t puzzled the woman, only for her accidental target’s expression and posture to change once more reflecting his desperate hunger. “Sure, I have food” Ryder responded as she slowly rose to her feet and began to casually walk towards the dark skinned man. Though her steps were casual she seemed to glide across the landscape, covering a dozen meters with each step. She couldn’t give him the slip if he could sense Ki, her best option would be to sow some positive karma. Invest in a little social capital and reap the rewards later on. “You’ll have to excuse the muck, just hiding my scent and visual profile while I was hunting. Mind handing my dart back? My name’s Ryder by the way, and yours is?” Even at a close distance the woman’s features were obscured by the hunting disguise. All one could really tell was the vague, voluptuous shape of her body. “If you can walk, I’ll lead you back to my home where I can feed you. If you cannot, let me know and I can carry you.” Ryder’s home was a beautiful clearing deep within the bamboo forest. Cool mist from a five meter tall cascade falling into a pond filtered the sunlight. The large clearing was filled with an impressive garden with one stilt-raised bamboo cottage towards the center of that garden. “Welcome to my humble abode.” OOC: Sorry this was so long in coming Iroh Heavy Weights PL: 625 [total PL 2499]

OOC: It's cool! Don't worry about it.
The voice alone was way enough to make Iroh much, much happier than he previously was as a large smile now appeared on his face. Ah, yes! He was actually going to eat some food! Finally! No more will he hear that awful grumbling in his stomach and no more will he be totally alone on this Ki-less planet! Well... Well, not entirely Ki-less, no. After all, he only knew of one single continent on this blue rock. His parents had told him of other lands they've all never seen before, places located in the west, north, south... but that's beside the point, really. All that was good and all around here was that he had finally met someone that could use Ki other than his parents. And it was clear that this person was able to use such energy as, once she approached him from the bushes and the trees, he was able to notice how strange her movements seemed to be. She mimicked normal walking motions, yes, but, somehow... it seemed as though she was covering much more ground than she truly should. Most probably, she was simply flying, which was... not really super hard to do. In fact, if Iroh could remember correctly, flight was one of the very first things he had to learn on Planet Ingot. Let's just say he crashed a lot before being able to correctly do it. Nevertheless, he had been able to do so correctly before all of the other children in his clan. Even today, he could still feel the jealousy that spilled from his entourage back then like a snake's venom. Truly horrifying back then, but only a simple fact now. In all fairness, however, the distraction caused by his memories soon felt distant as the woman appeared. Though he has not seen many women in his life... it was truly rare for Iroh to see such voluptuous women, especially in a forest, of all places possible. He was impressed, to say the least... and that was even with the camouflage the young woman had to setup to hunt her targets. Certainly, her appearance was very vague, but it was enough to give him an idea of how she could possibly look like. Hearing that she wanted her "dart" back, Iroh would stop, frowning in confusion before realizing what she was talking about and nodding, holding one hand on his stomach as he gave what he thought was an arrow back to the woman, who called herself Ryder: "Ah, yeah, sure, here."
After he did so, he would hear another grumbling from his stomach, stunning him for a moment. Damn, he really was getting hungry, huh? This is starting to be a really painful experience... He'd better eat something, and fast. "M-My name's Iroh... like the metal, iron, they call it. My clan loves puns for names, for some reason... I-I can still move. No need to carry me."He told her, refusing her offer, then decided that it would now probably be best for him to follow her, however, while gliding. At least, like that, his weakened body won't be too hurt. Sure, Ki needed energy, that wasn't a problem. It was just... the pain in his stomach that made him so irked. So, slowly, he started gliding in the air, still holding onto his stomach. "Lead the way."And so, he followed Ryder towards her home, his body slowly floating over the green below as he simply stared at her in silence while they did. After all, he didn't have much to say. Oh, who was he kidding, he indeed had lots to say! How was this girl able to use Ki? Was she Human? She was indeed a humanoid, but he looked like a Human and he really isn't one at all. However, as much as he wanted to ask questions, his mouth was somehow unable to open. Was he... nervous? Nervous? Why would he be nervous? There was no need for him to be so nervous. Was it because she was a woman? Non-sense, gender should not be a reason for nervousness! And yet... perhaps, in this situation, it probably was. The fact that her home, once they eventually reached it, was also quite impressive left him surprised too, almost shocked. "Woah. Nice place..."He commented, genuinely impressed by the place as he continued to float. Eventually, though, once they reached the house, he would stop doing so, lightly landing on the ground below. "I hope... I'm not really bothering you... You were hunting, right? With that, uh... "dart" thing? Sorry for interrupting that."

Delicately Ryder tossed the dart, sending it floating through the air and into a wattle bin attached to the cottage. “If anyone should be apologizing it’s me Iroh, I’m sorry I mistook you for prey in that bush. Please wait here for a moment, I certainly can’t go preparing anything to eat covered in all of this.” Not waiting for an answer from Iroh, Ryder strode towards the water’s edge and then onto its surface. Each time her foot sunk down into the water she spread her ki across its surface like a snow shoe. A disk several meters in diameter sunk a few inches into the water along with her foot with each step as she gracefully leaped across the pond and into the waterfall to stand upon a rock underneath it. In the midst of the falling water Ryder was cleansed of plant and earth alike. All fell away revealing her true form in its entirety, covered only by her tight but highly breathable wicking blue workout uniform. Now cleansed her appearance radically transformed from a mud person into a slightly tanned platinum blonde vixen. Ryder returned the way she had gone, her body lightly glistening in the filtered sunlight as water dripped out of her hair and off of her skin. Rather than stop and make further conversation, the woman instead sauntered right past him and headed for her outdoor cooking station where she set about building a fire. “Why don’t you tell me a bit about yourself while I whip us up a meal Iroh.” OOC: jokes on you, this is Earth 2000 years in the future in a world that reflects some aspects of Dragonball Online. Ki Use is uncommon on earth but it's far more widespread than back in the DBZ days =P [There may be no actual contradiction though, if you haven't been exposed to a whole lot of people since landing.] Iroh

"Eh, it's fine, don't worry... It just stings, really... To be honest, I think I'm way more hurt by my empty stomach than anything else..."
Iroh would admit, already hearing another incoming growl that was just about to burst his way into the sound world once more. Here it comes, here it comes! Aaaand here it is. Yet again, the young man was holding onto his stomach, now starting to seriously believe that it was way too foolish of him to not at least bring something to eat on his journey. Dying of hunger is a very boring, painful and thoroughly avoidable death, and so he had to eat something, anything, that co-
Where is she going?
That was literally the first thing he thought the moment he noticed that Ryder was leaving him, directing herself towards the waterfall and the pond near her house. Oh, yeah, she has to wash herself before preparing food for him. Eh, that's fine, sanitation is always best to preserve, really. Now, the only problem with that specific happening is that... well... he was really hungry... and sanitation was the very least of his worries. Then again, he might be selfish here. Ah, screw it, he'll wait. Besides, Ryder is already kind enough to actually give him something to eat, so it might be best to keep that kindness at the best state it could possibly ever reach.
Truthfully, he had to admit that the scene in the pond quite impressed him. It was less the woman's appearance that stunned him, but more so the circle of Ki that beamed in the water the moment her foot sunk underneath the blue liquid. It was... just amazing, really. He had definitely not expected this to happen. Maybe... Maybe she's even... stronger than him. You know what? That would be pretty cool... though, from the looks of it, he really cannot tel; all he witnessed was this particular scene, the use of a Ki-infused wooden "dart" (whatever that thing was) and how she floated back there, which were really all pretty easy to accomplish if you knew the basics of Ki. For now, he'll assume that they are both equal.
Once Ryder came back, he did not expect the woman to simply walk past him right towards some sort of cooking station outdoors. Lifting an eyebrow, the young man decided to follow her, knowing that the woman probably knew more about her own home than he could ever wish, then stopped once he realized that Ryder was actually about to... prepare him food. Not give, but cook. At the realization of that, he simply stood there, stunned, shocked by such generosity, though, soon enough, he took himself out of his surprise and headed forward before settling down on the grass close to the fire Ryder wanted to setup. He felt like he was literally sinking into it like a stone dropped into the cold waters of the sea. Boy, that hunger left him tired. He hadn't expected this. Next time, he won't be this hungry, and that's a promise.
Hearing Ryder's question, however, he remained silent for a moment, stretching himself as he sat correctly in the chair, then replied:
"Uh, sure. To be honest, though, I don't really have anything super exciting to tell you. I was walking along the roads of this land and I somehow stumbled back here. I already visited this place before, but, yeah, I really got lost this time around. Eventually, I got hungry and... well, that lasted for some more several hours until I got hit by your... dart? Yeah, dart, that was it."
His eyes stared at the building fire with neutrality in his emotions.
"All that time, I was searching for a berry, or something that I could feed on. I didn't really want to kill any of the animals myself. My parents used to do that, but... I don't know, I'm not really used to hunting."

“Of this land?” Ryder muttered aloud, puzzled a bit by the young man’s manner of speech. She hadn’t met anyone who spoke that way, and she’d covered a pretty sizeable portion of ground on this planet. Granted Iroh HAD identified his background as coming from a ‘clan’ earlier, such clans were known to hold onto old ways better than your average family. Wouldn’t the Aaron family itself qualify, clinging to military traditions thousands of years old? Rising from the fire pit Ryder made her way into a shady earth-sheltered structure near the house. When she reappeared in view she could be seen carrying a large cured ham in one hand while she grabbed a wok off the house wall with the other. “This won’t take too long Iroh, just bear with it for a little while longer” the woman whispered reassuringly as she laid the wok on the ground. Drawing the knife she carried clipped to her belt Ryder swiftly sliced and diced the ham into that wok before setting it on fire pit’s grate. Ryder certainly wasn’t going to serve a meal made of meat alone. Rising once more from her work at the fire pit the woman made her way out into her garden and the edges of the bamboo forest with wicker basket in hand. Some taro, some sweet potato [tubers and greens both], some kangkong, some waterchestnut, some bamboo shoots, some daikon, some salad mallow. She swept through the area with a practiced hand, harvesting a few bits and pieces of numerous things before making her way to her pond. A few short minutes of swift knife work and the woman was once more returning to her workstation at the fire pit armed with a basket full of trimmed and cleaned, sliced and diced vegetables. A brief stir of the meat to confirm it was getting close to finished and she began to cast the vegetables in. Ryder started with those that were hardest and took longest to cook, tossing the stir fry as she slowly worked her way up to the greens. OOC: the total cooking process is going to be 20 minutes or so, I figure you may wish to speak to me at some point during that time so I didn’t carry it all the way through to completion. tags- Iroh

As Iroh heard Ryder mutter words that he previously said aloud in a thoughtful way, like she was thinking aloud about them, the young man suddenly froze. His expression did not change in the slightest, still seeming to be quite surprisingly neutral for a very hungry person, but he could feel the very pores of his skin scream as a wave of coolness went from top to bottom in an instant. It was a terrible, awful experience, really. He did not understood why this happened for a split-second, given that he had never really felt such a thing before, but, as he pondered on a little bit, he slowly started to realize what was going on. In short, he was stressed. Embarrassed, maybe. Perhaps the "never really felt such a thing before" part was a bit far-fetched. Stress is a feeling that people feel everyday and it is physically impossible for one to not feel at least a shiver of that specific emotion, with the main reason being that it is a part of many emotions at once. Fear, excitement, anger, all of them has that quite a lot of stress that flows throughout one's emotional drive. Science says its a bunch of chemicals, philosophers says it's part of the soul or whatever they've made up in the hundreds of books they've written over the years. Iroh, him... just described as a feeling that he felt he had lost over the time, replaced by extreme boredom mixed with a sense of wonder and imagination. Ever since he arrived here, on this boring and uninteresting blue shell of a planet, there was never a single time he felt such an intense emotion. In fact, he maybe even stopped feeling it not long before they left Planet Ingot, after he had bested all of the warrior-children of his clan in physical combat. Meditation took its toll, it seems. In order to expand one's mind, one must sacrifice something. In that case, Iroh sacrificed his happiness and his interest, building himself into a boring statue of thought that gazed at the sky all day and all night like the sheer fool he was. That is not to say that he did on the purpose because he thought of himself as a fool, but because there was clearly nothing else for him to do. Stress was also a part of this equation. He felt a little bit of all when his parents literally pulled him away from the planet he once called his home, but, otherwise, nothing came forth like it once used to. But now, for some reason, it did... and that was just because he used a vocabulary that somehow seemed to sound strange to some random Human woman that was kind enough to offer him some food in a time of need. "Y-Yeah... Of this land... Uh... I mean, I don't know much about this planet, really. I took it from my father."He was indeed right. His father being the noble sort he is, Iroh always heard him going on some random speech every morning. He always sounded so regal and so respectful to everybody he met. In a way, the young man found it was infuriating to watch as he thought that certain style of speech made his family look like a bunch of overly polite idiots, but... he couldn't help but appreciate it all. It sounded rich, gave yourself a little pat on the back whenever you finished a sentence. In other words, it was just nice. That is, it feels nice until a guy with a beard then calls you a weirdo and leaves you stranded there trying to collect yourself over it all. In a way, that's how Iroh felt now. Ryder did not purposefully treat him like an idiot, but it was still enough for a strange and rather annoying feeling grow within the young man's mind, and that was stress. So, caught off-guard about it all, he stood in silence on the ground like the fool he judged his father to be when talking in such a manner in front of his acquaintances, looking at the ground with an uncertain, stressed frown on his face. There was even a small, quiet bead of sweat bulging on his right temple, beaming thanks to the sunlight above. It was such a shameful experience, really, even after Ryder seemed to ignore it all and promised him that the food was going to be ready pretty soon. Eventually, tired of feeling this overbearing silence, he spoke up as Ryder cooked the meat in front of him, trying not to feel too overwhelmed by the stress and the sight of preparing food. "Anyways... Ryder, right? How... How did you learn to use Ki like that? I thought Humans were a race that preferred cultivating food from the ground and hunting animals than fighting amongst themselves. Usually, whenever I see someone use Ki, they seem like the kind of person that always want to punch somebody in the face."The only exceptions being his parents, of course...
