((Thread PL: 19 312 Heavy Weights active! Sensed PL: 4 828)) "Oof! Goddammit!" Gira cursed as she fell over on the soft grass. She had just recently lost her tail in the Ginger Town incident and it was harder than the hybrid thought to get used to not having it. According to her friend Kaci's mom, Saiyans had a hard time moving when they lost their tails. Like any tailed creature, the tail was essential for balance. She'd have to get used to not having it before she could fight at her fullest again. But you know what they say; crawl before you walk, walk before you run. Gira was learning that lesson right now. With a deep breath, Gira got up, wobbling on her feet for a second before she put her arms out to balance herself. The hybrid took a single step forward, faltering slightly, but remaining upright. She paused, maintaining her balance as she took another step. 'So far, so good...' She took another step forward, but unfortunately, she stepped on a small stone, throwing off her balance. She was sent face-first into the ground. The half-Saiyan remained with her face in the grass for a moment before letting out a frustrated groan. "Damn, this is harder than I thought." She sighed, turning around to sit on the grass. She would take a break for now Sai

| Learning to Walk Again | Thread PL: 17,018 | Modifiers: Light Weights Sai As Sai's day started in the chilled fields in the Western Frontier, the young hybrid couldn't help but smile and gaze at the horizon. Yet while he continued to look around, he swiftly began to sense a above average power level radiating from the area. What better than to check it out, he would think to himself. His days had become full of boredom, and he truly had nothing better to do. Sai would slowly stand up as he placed his lightweights on and his power level slowly reduced to it's former strength. He would sigh and then began to fly towards to where the ki was coming from.
Once he got closer, he noticed a young woman, a fairly beautiful one as well. Embarrassed as could be, he would swiftly hide behind a bush, not wanting to get noticed. As he hid, he noticed that she couldn't walk straight. His mind began to wonder as to how she couldn't walk straight at her age. "Maybe she's drunk? Maybe she just got out of a rejuvenation chamber? Maybe she never even learned haha." Sai's mind began to wonder and wonder as he thought and thought about the many possibilities that existed as per the reason to why she couldn't walk straight. As he continued to watch the woman, he couldn't help but gaze at her to the point where he felt out of the bush with a "Oomph." Sai would sigh and swiftly face palm as he gave away his position to the young woman. He would give a smile, as his cheeks were cherry red then saying: "Oh hi... I'm Sai..."

Gira was in the middle of her break when she sensed a powerful energy near her. Casually glancing in the direction she sensed the presence, she tried to figure out whether the being this energy signature belonged to was friend or foe. It was rather difficult to tell. She couldn't sense anything malevolent about this energy, however. Gira hoped that this person was friendly. Right now, she felt about as defenseless as a newborn kitten. She was certainly in no condition to fight.
Just as she was about to call the spy out, he tumbled out of the bushes, giving her an embarrassed greeting. Gira sighed in relief. He didn't seem all that threatening. Gira stood to greet him, faltering for a moment before giving the newcomer a wave. "Uh, hey there. I'm Gira. Mind telling me why you were watching me?" She didn't seem angry or creeped out. More curious.

While Gira questioned as to why Sai was watching her, the young hybrid simply placed his hand on his head as he scratched it, eyes closed and cheeks red. He was as embarrassed as could be and couldn't help blushing as well. He would stand up, waving at her and then beginning to speak. "Well umm. You just seemed busy and umm.. I didn't want to interrupt, and I'm umm... Not use to speaking to cute girls so I didn't want to approach you... I just wanted to see if you were a foe... I've had bad experience in the past with cute girls and fights..." He would then abrupt his speaking with another wide smile, as he continued to blush then walking towards her.
As he stood next to Gira, he would swiftly ask her. "So umm... are you friend or foe? Also, why can't you seem to walk correctly... I have my own assumptions, but I'd like to hear from you personally."

Gira's cheeks went a little pink in embarrassment at being called cute. It wasn't something she was called very often. At least, not to her face. When he asked if she was a friend or foe, Gira looked at him strangely. It seemed he had bad experiences with things like this, so the hybrid couldn't blame him for being cautious. "Well, i'm definitely not your enemy. Even if I was, i'm..." She suddenly lost her balance and fell on her ass. "Ow..." She looked up at Sai and finished her sentence. "I wouldn't provide much of a fight."
She chuckled and scratched the back of her head nervously. Then he asked her about why she was having a hard time keeping her balance. A fair question. She looked completely human without her tail. "I, uh... I lost my tail awhile back. It's hard for me to balance with it gone. I never had to be without it before." She purposefully left out the fact that she almost destroyed Ginger Town in her Oozaru form, forcing her friend, Tulip to cut off her tail.
Gira stood up again. It seemed she was getting a little better at keeping her balance. She had to admit, not having her tail was irritating. Just generally weird-feeling too. She kind of cursed her tail in the past, but now she kind of missed it. She couldn't scratch certain spots on her back anymore, she had one less limb that she could use to hold onto things, not to mention the strange feeling of having that blank spot where her tail used to be.

Sai couldn't help but smile as Gira slowly keep doing things that he at least would deem cute. He watched her fall, get back up, and continue to speak. As she told him about her tail he realized she was either a hybrid or a pure-blood saiyan. He would then smirk at her and then began to speak himself.
"So you're a Saiyan, or of some sorts? Haha, well I'm a Hybrid... Father was a Saiyan and my mother was a human. Plus, whether or not you provide a fight is fine, I'm guessing your a friend so I'd protect you if I could. I personally lost my tail a long time ago, when I was a child; to conceal my race from normal humans. Childhood was really rough, but I got through it fairly well. Oh I'm rambling aren't I... ugh I can't contain myself or my speech when I'm around girls I like." He would blush again, as he continued to look at Gira. She was a beautiful woman, and Sai had never seen a woman truly as beautiful nor did he even feel this way about someone like this. As his face grew redder and redder, he would begin to scratch his head nervously awaiting her response.

Gira blinked when the boy rambled, appearing to get nervous around her. What was up with him? He was acting strange. Was it something she said? Still, she replied to what he said. "Funny; my family looks similar. I'm half-Saiyan on my father's side too." She didn't comment on the whole tail thing, seeing as how the most appropriate response would be for her to tell him how she lost her tail. That was a subject she would rather avoid. She still felt bad about what she did to Ginger Town. At least no one was hurt. She wasn't sure she could live with herself if she hurt or killed anyone when she was in that state.
And then he mentioned that he couldn't stop rambling around girls he liked. He liked her? They only just met. He seemed nice enough. She figured they could be friends. But she didn't know him well enough to "like" him, really. Little did Sai know, Gira took the "like" comment quite literally. She thought he simply meant a friendly sort of like. Not one of attraction. When it came to matters like this, Gira was pretty dense. "So, what brings you all the way out here? There isn't a whole lot nearby."

Sai smirked as she told him that she was also a Saiyan Hybrid. He would think to himself, "Is she a dream? Does she really exist?" He never truly thought of what a perfect girl could be, but to him at least Gira was very close to it. As she would then question him about why he was here, he couldn't help but smile and then swiftly sit down on the ground; ready to answer. "Well, I was simply bored. I haven't lived with anyone for some time, so living alone is kind of harsh at times. I just come out here at times to breathe and chill mostly. There truly isn't much for me to do, and hey me coming out here led to me meeting you didn't it haha."
Once he ended his phrase, his cheeks grew red again as he blushed. He was a very bad speaker at times when it cames to woman, especially ones that he liked or found cute. Then he began to wonder how Gira had even lost her tail, did she lose it like he did, or was it cut off against her own free will. His thoughts began to wonder off, as he stared at her blankly awaiting a response. He would then swiftly ask her another question: "So umm, what would you like to do? I'm pretty free and would love to spend the rest of the day with you, only if you'd like the same of course."

Gira listened to the newcomer, interested. It appeared he lived by himself. The hybrid was impressed. He appeared around her age, yet he lived by himself while she was still staying with her mom. She aimed to change that soon, however. There was no shortage of work for someone of her talents. Sai indicated that he was happy to meet her, though Gira couldn't figure out why. Gira looked down at the boy on the grass, afraid to move from that spot just in case her balance failed again.
He asked her what she wanted to do, saying he wanted to spend the day with her. She didn't see her day going in this direction, but still, Sai seemed nice. She thought they could be friends. So when asked about spending the day with him, she nodded. "Sure. That sounds like fun. Um..." She thought about what she wanted to do. "Oh, wanna get a bite to eat? I packed a lunch." Gira dug around in her pocket for one of her Hoi-Poi capsules.
She finally pulled the little bugger out. It was one of the smaller variety, a yellow band with the number two around it. Pressing down on the button, she tossed it down on the ground. In a puff of smoke, there was a picnic blanket with several baskets overflowing with food. It appeared Gira shared the appetite of the Saiyans. Smiling, Gira looked over at the boy. "If you're hungry, i'd be happy to share."

Sai couldn't help but look delighted at Gira as she unraveled the food around him. God, she even has an appetite?! He would swiftly make his way towards the picnic blanket as he stood adjacent to the food and then realized how hard it was for Gira to walk. He rapidly flew upwards and towards he then, picking her up he would place her on the blanket in front of the food. Sai would then move towards the other end of the blanket where he would sit facing Gira. As he prepared to dig in, he would look up at her again and give her a wide smirk. "Thank you, I was pretty hungry haha. My appetite tends to be fairly large so I apologize in advance if I make a fool out of myself."
As he finished his sentence, he began to go ham on the food in front of him. He ate one of everything he could get his hands on, while still controlling himself enough to keep food for Gira; since that would've been rude. While he continued to eat, he would look back up at Gira taking his eyes off of the food for a second. Speaking with his mouth full, he would say: "Oh-um So where do you live? And umm.. Do you have any interests or hobbies or things that you like? I'm interested enough to know." Once he finished his sentence, he would look back down at the food as he continued to eat while listening to what Gira had to say.

Gira was a little surprised when Sai suddenly picked her up, but still, she appreciated it. She still wasn't completely confident in her ability to walk. She was still improving though. She couldn't even stand this morning. When Sai thanked her for the food, she just waved it off like it wasn't a big deal. "There's plenty here. And I guess I don't need to eat ALL of this. Don't worry about your appetite either. I, uh... I have an appetite too. So I guess we can be fools together!"
She laughed before beginning to dig in. She took a rope of sausages out of one of the baskets and, like a vacuum, comically sucked the entire rope of sausages up, her cheeks bulging with the amount of food in her mouth. Gira chewed happily, swallowing the entire bite in a massive gulp. Then she started on the sandwiches she made, eating the triangular slices in two bites. When Sai asked her about her hobbies and where she lived, Gira swallowed her food and answered.
"I live in West Capitol. My mom has a house in the city. As for my hobbies, well, I like to write. Short stories mostly. I like to fight too. That's probably my favorite hobby. Until recently, the only outlet I had for that was my high school boxing team." With that, she pulled out a whole blueberry pie and began to pull out each slice. "What about you?"

Sai couldn't help but continue to smile and eat as the young hybrid ate and ate. He listened to hear, and took interest in what she said despite not looking at her. He would pick up two pieces of blueberry pie, shoving them into his mouth, then when she asked him about his hobbies he would swiftly swallow and give out a gentle cough before speaking again. "Well for me at least. I don't live anywhere specifically. My parents are work internationally so they travel a lot, and me leaving my house I simply live like a nomad. I move from place to place, really just looking for somewhere and someone to grow with. Being alone is tough..." He would release a sigh as he knew whenever he spoke about being alone he disliked his parents a bit more every time. Sai still couldn't believe they had abandonned him and left him just so they could continue to work. While it was fairly immoral, Sai didn't care whether they justified themselves or not.
As he left the little bit of sadness away, Sai would smile again and with the cheery expression on his face he would speak up again. "Well to my next point, I really enjoy eating and fighting. Eating mostly because it's just amazing, and helps a lot when times get tough, and fighting because it allows me to grow and to protect the ones I care for. Not much else to it really ahah." The young hybrid would release a chuckle, as he grabbed a large glass of water; chugging it down.

Gira shoveled the blueberry pie in her mouth, listening to Sai as he spoke. She felt more than a little bad for him. She never knew her father. He didn't even know she existed if he was even still alive. He was an Elite on Vegeta after all. For all she knew, he was dead. She still had her mom though. Gira couldn't imagine what it would make her feel like if her mom abandoned her. she knew that she hated being alone, though. That was another thing she and Sai had in common, it seemed.
"Well, you can grow with me. I'm always game to take on a new training partner. The more people you train with, the better. That's what I believe anyway." She pulled out several slices of leftover pizza, eating each slice in three bites. "I know what it's like to have a lot of things you want to protect. That's why I fight too. Not to mention it gets the blood pumping and is just an all around good time." She grinned. After she and Sai ate their fill, the food had been depleted to nothing. Gira leaned back and sighed, content. She pat her stomach. "That hit the spot." She stood up. It seemed a little easier this time. She might even be able to walk around now if she was careful.

While Gira told him more and more about herself Sai couldn't help but relate to her more, as well as like her more. She was someone that Sai felt like he could spend a lot of time with, since she was a great person overall. He smiled once they finished the food and as he did such he would fall on his back, then placing his hands of the back of his head as well; looking at the sky. He would sigh and then speak as well. "Well haha, if that's how you feel then I'll make a promise. I promise to be there to protect you as much as I can, whatever the consequences may be."
Despite the promise seeming like much, Sai knew that he was one to keep his promises. He disliked lying to people, and he was sure that he would do the most he could to protect and help Gira. The young hybrid truly liked her, so he decided that he would spend more time with her. He would continue to smile as he looked at the sky. "Gira, you're a really nice girl. I'd love to spend more time with you."

Gira looked over at Sai when he promised to protect her. She giggled and lied on her back, looking up at the sky as she let her mountainous lunch digest. "Well, i'll tell you what; I promise to protect you too. I think it'll be a lot easier for us to keep that promise if we stick together." Gira watched the clouds roll by as she spoke to her new friend. At the mention of Sai wanting to spend more time with her, the teen half-Saiyan smiled.
"Thanks. You're a nice guy. I mean, I don't know you all that well, but you don't give me bad vibes. That being the case, i'd like to spend more time with you too. I can sense your power as well. You're really strong. Maybe sometime when I can walk without falling on my ass, we can spar. I like to fight strong opponents. I learn something new about myself every time."
Gira's grin widened. She had made yet another powerful friend. She couldn't believe how much had changed over these past few months. She fought all sorts of strong people and made friends along the way. There was bad too, but the good far outweighed it. With her tail gone, she didn't have to worry about a repeat of last night.
