Kira's Ki surrounded him in a green aura that shifted the dust along the ground in swirling pattern. Unknowingly, he'd unlocked a new technique that harnessed the air in his lungs and expelled it with torrential force when used properly. The thought occurred to him after the chance occurrence. Could the other elements be harnessed in the same manner? Naturally, this would take tremendous amounts of focus and concentration. A few beams of sunshine cut through the tall rods going from the ground into the endless blue sky. Kiraburu sat in a small clearing among the large stocks of grass with his legs crossed over one another and his hands a ball in his lap. He often adopted this form to strengthen his resolve and calm his nerves whenever things were getting stressful. He'd hoped coming to the bamboo forest, where the birds chirped happily and the sun of the Western Lands gleamed with excitement every chance it took, would grant him an even more meditation-friendly area that would assist in unlocking the forms he sought. His bo staff leaned against his shoulder, he sighed and rested his chin on one of his hands whilst keeping his eyes closed and slowly ran his hands through his hair that border-lined the strands of the soulless individuals littered here and there across the world.
His bo hit the ground with a soft clank as it collided with fallen bamboo shoots already littering the forest's floor. The sun was directly above him and a little to the west. He guessed it was early afternoon from both this and the deplorable sounds his stomach had begun to make about thirty minutes ago. He grew weary of constantly having the unexplained urge to grow stronger, a plague that made many a martial artist its victim and desperately sought this with every fiber of his being. If only there were an easier way. He longed for a teacher capable of guiding him on this quest. Surely one existed out there somewhere.

The Bamboo Forest. From the way it looked, the name was certainly no lie. Massive chutes of bamboo sprung out everywhere, turning this land into a maze-like place of hard wood-like grass. It was hard to find anything in here, unless your goal was collecting bamboo, of course. In some small corner of the forest sat a man, garbed in a green Gi, which was shrouded by a light-blue cloak. He sat patiently on a rock, a wooden staff leaning on the side of his makeshift seat, and a fire crackling slowly in front of him. Two decently sized snakes had been skewered, and were currently cooking on the flames. He wasn't sure exactly what time it was, but he knew for sure that he was hungry. His meal slowly cooked on the fire as he tightened the green bandanna that covered his forehead. As he finished, he ran a hand through his silvered hair-- a habit he picked up ages ago. "Jeez," Bing murmured to himself. "I feel like I've been out here for months now. I wonder if that old temple even exists anymore..."The Temple he spoke of was one his father had told him about ages ago. It was one of the first places that the Serpent School ever conducted initiation rituals. Apparently there were some ancient texts hidden inside. Ones that only true masters of the Serpent Style were allowed access to. If he could find those scrolls, he'd be able to teach his students even better! Sadly, however, Bing was beginning to lose hope. He'd left the Lookout a few days ago in search of this ancient temple, but so far his efforts were fruitless. He had half a mind to just pack up and go home, but that was a foolish endeavor. How could he ever forgive himself if the temple still existed and he left all that knowledge inside to rot? He sighed to himself, deciding that he'd continue his search for one more day. Before that though, he'd need to eat. His focus was fully tuned to the snakes sizzling below him. Surely they'd make a good meal in just a few moments...

A smell reminiscent of burning chicken suddenly wafted towards Kira. It occurred to him that he'd been able to smell the pungent odor of smoke for a while now. Someone was near him. Had fate decided to answer him so soon?
He walked for a while, following the smell and small plumes of smoke that either rose or kept swerving between bamboo shoots in his general direction. Whoever this person was, they were strong. No, he hadn't the ability to sense ki; but, whoever could start a fire in the middle of the day in an area not known for its safety had to have some magnitude of strength from either sentient monsters or even stronger fighters. Kira put on his weighted vest; an annoying green that somewhat blended into his surroundings. The smell grew stronger and Kira grew more and more weary. His excitement was only swayed by small levels of caution towards strangers. People all the way out here weren't exactly belonging to the friendliest of bunches. Even so it would've been nice to have at least a rudimentary conversation consisting of bad jokes and idle chat about what a nice day it was.
Kira walked for a little while longer, still following his nose and stomach. He walked further and further until he came to a clearing, smoke rising and filling the area with wisps of black. A light-blue mass with a full head of grey hair sat by the fire, a simply carved staff leaning close by and two snakes being patiently roasted. Kira had to muster every ounce of self control to not lunge at the scene once he’d stumbled upon it. He didn’t recognize the man sitting on a rock but nevertheless, thought it best to introduce himself.
“Ah! Hello there! Mind if I take a seat? I haven’t seen anyone in a while.”
A sudden embarrassment fell over Kira as he realized how disheveled he’d probably looked. He’d been out here for a while now but the stranger didn’t look all that different. Ah well. Uncomfortable company would be preferable to none.

Bing's focus shifted slightly, as the sound of footsteps and shuffling leaves alerted him to a nearby presence. His Ki-sensing abilities told him this was no world-ending power, but even still, the incoming fighter had an impressive amount of energy under their belt. The Serpent Master waited patiently, his muscles tensed just in case this approaching visitor wasn't the friendly kind.
Soon enough, the stranger would appear from the depths of the forest. It was a Human, or at the very least a tail-free Saiyan. As silly as it sounded, it was refreshing to meet an average adventurer rather than some alien powerhouse. The man gave a greeting to Bing, and the Former Kami responded in kind. He waved to Kiraburu, smiling warmly as he spoke. "Hey there! Feel free to sit, friend. I've got food and room to spare."
His attention briefly turned back to the food. It was nearly done now; just a minute more, and he'd be able to bite into the succulent meat awaiting him. He was a bit disappointed that he'd have to share his meal, but he'd caught extra for a reason.
The Serpent Master glanced back up at the new face, deciding it best to make idle conversation before things got awkward. "What brings you to the bamboo forest, stranger? Looking for adventure, or maybe something a bit more personal?"

Kira smiled and sat down to the man with grey hair. This person seemed strong. Stronger than his appearance lead on to say the least. "I'm Kira." He crossed his legs and looked longingly into the fire, the smokey air greeting his nostril with a wonderful aroma. A large rumble sounded from his stomach but not appearing to by rude he ignored it, and put his hands behind him for something to lean on. He heard Bing's question and thought for a moment, looking up and to the left absent mindedly before answering. "A little of both I suppose. The quiet out hear 's great for meditation but I suppose I wouldn't mind for something exhilarating to happen. It'd probably be a nice change of pace. I came out here original to try and master my Ki more, while also adding another elemental effect. I've already got wind down to some extent."
The fire wavered slightly as it was buffeted by the small gusts of air that came from this way and that. The taller of the bamboo shoots rattled as they collided with one another above their heads. The one of the logs shifted and fell, the fire crackling in angry response. Kira summoned his ki to his chest and allowed it to settle there before expelling a small amount onto the fire's red-hot source of life. He watched the blaze raise ever so slightly to just below the now browning snakes. "So what did you come all the way out here for?"
