[Thread PL: 37,589] [Ki Suppression Active, PL: 500] [ Maeve Rakshasa]
It was quite some time since Kale decided to visit the Kami of Earth on her lookout. During the last instance that the Saiyan was introduced to the Guardian, he was deemed worthy to be trained by her and become a part of the group that protects the planet from evil. Being that a few months had come and gone, now was a perfect time to catch up with Kami and officially begin his training. It wasn't long before Kale came across the magnificent structure that hung in the air like it had come from a dream. He still didn't know what helped the Lookout defy the Earth's gravity. The Saiyan landed gently onto the white square tiles that covered the surface of the round platform. He stood a good ten feet away from the main white and yellow building. Kale's eyes were trained on the door that led to the inside of the structure, now. He wondered if Kami was expecting him, or if she even knew she had a visitor. The thought of waiting did cross his mind so he would do just that for the time being. |

A Drink of Water Orzo PL: 2,313 Bonuses: Celestial Event! Type C Aliens are super charged!
The Earth is a beautiful place, full of wonderful greenery and animals. Sometimes, even the people of the planet can be equally as pleasa-"Fuuuuuck!!" A shout came from the dog zoan, who had gotten fairly high up the tower. "I should have known it wouldn't be so easy!" He'd say to himself, as he continued to climb. The fact that the heat of the sun was beating down on him didn't really help.
Orzo was REALLY trying his hardest to trust the quote on quote 'Kami', but it was really hard with his new found hatred of this tower he had to climb to get to her. But thankfully, the top wasn't too far away from now. A smile of what seemed to be a mix of happiness and insanity from the heat came across his face. But the face quickly went away as he looked down. He knew that if he fell, he'd be dead for sure.
So with all his might, he'd try to make it up to the top in a panic. It was so close, just barley out of his reach! As he quickly got to the top and made his way on the ladder attached to the floating structure, the zoan had finally gotten to where he assumed Kami resides. But, he was too worn out to actually do anything or look for her, so he just simply lay on the tiles of this place he had come across.
But before relaxing his muscles, he said one more thing to himself. "Never...again!"

The all too familiar chime of a bell filled the air as the lookout was suddenly filled with it's owner's presence. A swell of equally balanced darkness and light formed as Maeve Rakshasa: the demonic Kami of Earth, stepped out from nothing. The demoness looked to the panting Orzo with a gentle smile as she reached down with one of her many hands to offer him a hand up. "Your perseverance truly is remarkable. I wanted to see for myself if you would falter or wane yet...You climbed the sacred tower like a select few before you. It is no small feat and one you should take pride in. For doing so, has brought you to my sacred home. The Lookout." She simply said as she waved her arm outward to show off the simple majesty of the sacred place. Whether or not he accepted her hand Maeve would turn her attentions to the young saiyan that had touched down moments earlier. "Ho? It seems you won't be training alone this day Orzo, another of my students has sought me out this day." She grinned, approaching the man. The demoness would clap an open palm against a closed fist as she bowed her head in a graceful but warrior-like bow. "I suppose you are here too to earn a taste of the sacred water? I am eager to test both of your resolves...Though, perhaps I should get Orzo there a drink of...Well, normal water..." She scratched the back of her neck and gave a sheepish giggle along with a nervous flutter of her head fins. "The poor boy looks like he might pass out. I shall be back in but a moment, you too take the opportunity to get acquainted with one another!" Maeve smiled as she slowly faded away into nothingness to 'blink' into the lookout to fetch the poor pup a glass of water.

Just like the first time that Kale had met the Kami of Earth, he experienced feelings of wonder and respect. He never expected to train with the planet's guardian of all people when he first made the Earth his home. The Saiyan copied Kami's movements, bowing to her in the same manner that she performed for him.
"It's great to see you again, Kami of Earth," Kale began. "How long has it been, a few months? I look forward to what you have in store." The Saiyan did want to ask Maeve about her multiple appendages, but he thought that it would be rude to ask that sort of question about what was essentially a deity.
Kale faced the zoan now. He caught from Maeve that his name was Orzo. "Hello," he greeted. "My name's Kale. Congrats on making it up the tower! If what Kami says is right, it looks like you and I are gonna be training buddies." A grin flashed across the Saiyan's face while he offered a friendly handshake.

As he continued to lay there, he was a bit happy to hear that the Kami was going to get that water. But what he wasn't to excited about, was the other person here. Maeve told him NOTHING about having to train with somebody else! But whatever, he'd just have to deal with it for now. Besides, he was torn worn our to really say anything to this Kale person.

The chime would return, and in it's passing Maeve would reappear holding a glass of ice cold water. She'd set the cup beside the Zoanthrope with a nervous little nod before looking back to Kale. Her lightly glowing eyes narrowed in on the Saiyan as she stood up straight, her numerous arms crossing behind her back as she bowed her head. "It has been somewhat trying, raising both a newborn and an unruly half blood have taxed me more than I'd care to admit." She sheepishly responded, her headfins flagging down a bit dejectedly as she cut her gaze aside.
"Although..." She cleared her throat taking a step toward the young man while taking a more relaxed stance. "I get the vibe you yourself have been quite busy. You seem far more relaxed this meeting than the last. I trust everything has been going well these last few months?" she asked, tilting her head a bit while one of her ears flicked, waiting for any feedback from Orzo. She knew the dog was a bit apprehensive when it came to this whole thing and she certainly didn't want to scare him off by diverting her focus too much. Even though she was engaged with Kale, she kept the other in the corner of her eye.
Though, she was somewhat eased by the fact that despite his skepticism he managed to make the trek upward. She was quite pleased that she hadn't misjudged him, his potential was staggering if it were nurtured in the right hands. She would certainly have to keep an eye to make sure he would accept her teachings.
"Orzo, once you're ready, feel free to join us."

Maeve's mention of her hybrid son sent a chill down Kale's spine. It was evident that she spoke of Etoru. The memory of his last encounter with the boy left an almost sour taste in Kale's mouth. It didn't help that the child had been severely misguided to the point of trying to rule over one of the planet's cities.
"Yeah," Kale mused, "I had a run-in with your son recently. It wasn't the best experience, I'll admit. But I'm glad that he came to his senses and left without hurting anyone."
When Orzo didn't make any attempts to greet Kale, the Saiyan would not take it to heart. The poor guy looked exhausted! "You alright there?"

As the dog of a bounty hunter continued to lay around, he'd feel like the stars themselves were in his favor as Kami herself set the glass of water next to him. While she had her conversation with Kale, he splashed the water on his face as he let it sink in. While wet fur was annoying, it was better than dying of a heat stroke. So while he finally sat up, and took heavy breaths as he started to cool down, Kale had actually started to worry as well.
Orzo didn't have any real reason to trust this guy; the only reason he was here was because of Maeve. But in his conversation with her from a while back, he had already gotten a read on the kind of person she was. So telling him to 'screw off' wasn't the best option. So instead; he just simply asked "And what reason do you have to care?" Whatever his answer was, he turned to Maeve and gave a thumbs up to what she had told him, letting her know the zoan understood what she said.
But as he continued to cool off; he realized something...he REALLY wanted to hit this tower. Not for any particular reason, he just wanted to hit it. Though the only outcomes he thought would come from it were him just hurting himself, or somehow doing damage to the tower and getting punished for it. Either way, he didn't like what would happen. So he held back his urges to his the structure for now at least.

"Yes I'm well aware of what a troublemaker my boy can be." She mused, placing one of her many hands to her lips as she ignored Orzo's crass call out to her other student. Eventually however, she would stand between the two, both her arms slowly lowering to her sides as she let her aura start to swell around her in a mix of silvery ki. She let out a soft exhale as the ki swirled around her like a dancing flame before extinguishing with a pulse of force that rippled around her body. "...You two aren't here to inquire about my son or my choice in home." She simply said, ending the formalities as she looked upon both Kale and Orzo with a sharpened expression. "You have both come at my beckoning in order to become greater than you already are, and for that you must be tested. I have already judged your spirits, now I shall test your courage and strength." She was ready to get on with this and she knew that they both had been waiting long enough. "You must prove yourselves. Prove to me you are strong enough to survive the divine waters." With that, a pair of short but wide blades formed in two of her hands while the upper set of arms lifted above her head to ignite with a black and white flame in each palm. "Let us begin. Both of you come at me!"

OOC Notes: Sorry for the delayed response. Started a new job and I've been exhausted.
In all honesty, Kale didn't very much care for the zoanthrope's attitude toward him. "Was only trying to be friendly," he mumbled. This was not the time to get upset over trifling matters, however. Right now, Kale was going to have to prove himself alongside Orzo. He knew there was a chance that they could not win, but that wasn't about to stop the Saiyan.
Kale clenched his fists and spread his feet apart to shoulder-width. In an instant, his power increased to a power level of 37,589. A confident smile creased the Saiyan's lips, and he got into a defensive martial arts stance. "Okay, Orzo, let's do this together. I'm ready when you are!"

After the snarky remark he gave to Kale, he watched as Kami herself stepped between the two, a powerful aura surrounding her before quickly dying out. She had wanted to see a test of strength. Kale shouted out that they would have to work as a team, even if he wasn't in the mood to get to know him better, he was smart enough to know he couldn't take someone like the guardian of this planet alone. So standing up, he smirked, and got into a fighting stance.
"Alright, yeah, I can do a fight. Would be easier than having to climb this tower again..." Just moments after the comment, he leaped into the air, slamming his knee into Maeve's face. But he wasn't done there, he ended off his first attack with a punch aimed directly at his opponent's neck. He had used this tactic many times in street fights, and it had proven effective. The dog was confident that if it worked on most he used it on, it would work on Maeve as well.

Seemingly as soon as Maeve issued her challenge Orzo had eagerly accepted and came at her with everything he had. Maeve's molten gold eyes sparked with energy as she felt the knee slam into her face. She coughed out in pain, her sealed power level working against her as she physically felt a bit of her divine blood spray out of her nose. Her crimson boots skidded against the ivory tiles as she skidded back. The sharp impact caused her to lose her footing however causing her to crane her head back leaving her neck wide open for the swift punch.
She gagged, desperate for air as she fell backward. The technique was simple but brutal, had she been fighting at fool power she wouldn't have been able to appreciate just how effective his basic combination was. With a little refinement, his simple, almost curt way of fighting could be one of his greatest assets.
Still, she wouldn't let herself be beaten back so soon! Before she hit the ground, she'd curl her spine and catch the ground with her six arms, providing her with more than enough support to turn her fall into a graceful flip. She'd touch the ground lightly as she landed, extending her arms out in various almost spiritual poses (save for one that held her neck, rubbing it lightly.)
"Very good Orzo, I appreciate your passion and drive." She smiled softly (despite her obviously hoarse voice) as she clapped all of her hands together and released the first 'seal' on her power. "This is the power of an heiress, the same power I wielded when first coming to your realm. It may not be much of a match for Kale's strength, but it should give you a bit of a challenge Orzo." She said, her sudden spike of power creating a ripple of pressure that would threaten to slam into both her opponents.
She knew Kale could handle it, he had grown even in the span since their last meeting. With it came a level of confidence that was certainly not unwelcome.
Demonic Heiress (x3) activated! New PL > 15,000 [N1] Pressure Release was used! 2,500 PL worth of damage toward both Kale and Orzo!

Fortunately, Kale already had a teal ball of ki within his right palm while he prepared for the fight to come. Orzo already jumped in without a moment's notice, which the Saiyan found both amusing and worth approval. To Kale, Orzo greatly resembled a Saiyan, having such an eagerness to fight foes no matter what the difference was in regards to strength. A smirk came to Kale's face now that he was growing more excited for the fight. Orzo appeared to be able to handle himself. Kale was thankful for the sake of the Zoanthrope being that the Kami was gracious enough to be holding back her true power. In what felt like an instant, Maeve was already recovered from the blows and made a counter-attack in retaliation, aiming for both Orzo and Kale at once before increasing her power by three fold! Despite the Kami being weaker in comparison, Kale remembered that she did not want him to hold back. Maeve's wall of pressure barreled down on Kale menacingly. But it was not going to make Kale back down. "Good job, Orzo! Now it's my turn! Tsunami Cannon!" As those words escaped his lips, the Saiyan threw forth his hand and let loose his energy wave attack aimed at the Kami with a brilliant explosion of bright lights in hues of blue. Just as he expected, the wave collided into Maeve's wall of pressure before piercing through it and continuing on its path. He gleefully cheered within his mind, his confidence swelling but not by too much. With the attack commenced, Kale took this opportunity to follow up with a more close encounter with the Kami kind. He followed Orzo's example and charged forth only to reach Maeve within moments. With Orzo facing her front, Kale made a split decision to attack her from the rear. He halted just as he passed the Kami, and swiftly pivoted about while launching a swift kick to her shoulder blades.
[N1] Tsunami Cannon for 33% fired at Maeve for 12,404 PL. Tsunami Cannon takes over Maeve's Pressure Release, 9,904 PL. Kale makes a kick to the Kami's back! [2/3] KP Orzo

Seeing how surprisingly effective this was on the guardian of Earth, Orzo gave a quick smirk...though that moment of power was short lived, as Maeve got up and had appearntly increased her power from what she said. Not long after, a large burst of energy had come from her. A form of energy that while not uncommon, Orzo hadn't seen much of himself in person, the only other time he'd seen something like this was from the boss! It also sure definitely felt like going against his boss, as when it made impact on his he was sent back by a notable amount. Getting knocked off his feet, though he was still able to get back up soon after.
This experience was...strange for Orzo, to say the least. He'd say he wouldn't have expected any of this, but he's the one who was accepting a possible training offer from Kami. Seeing Kale land a hit on Maeve, Orzo would reach a hand into his back pocket as he ran towards the two. The bounty hunter took out a small piece of red metal that was barley smaller than his hand, and pressed a button on it, making the piece of metal grow in size revealing to be a crowbar! With the weapon in hand, he'd make a mighty swing towards the Earth guardian's face!

Maeve summoned her blade at that instant, with both of them coming at her in such force and the oncoming attack created by the mighty saiyan she needed to take it up a notch. She tried her best to weather the explosion of ki but Kale would find that his attack had satisfyingly wounded the golden Kami. The demoness panted, but she had no time to regain her breath for the onslaught had only just begun. With both Kale's kick and Orzo's crowbar swing she had to react. Fast. First, she swatted aside the crowbar with her blade. The sheer force of her swing created an explosion of wind behind it which, unless Orzo braced himself, would surely knock the poor dog back. As for the kick: this was one of those times Maeve was incredibly thankful for having an extra set of arms or two. Before Kale's kick could meet it's mark, two extra arms would grab his shin and hurl him aside, not necessarily in an attempt to harm him but more so to parry his kick and knock him off balance. "Very good, you even forced me to use my sword!" She commended them honestly, wiping away some of the soot from Kale's explosive counter attack with a quick flick of her thumb over her nose. This wasn't just a test of strength though, this was also a test of character! There would be times when one would have to put their lives on the line to help others less mighty than themselves and she wanted to see how soon Kale would do so. So setting her sights on Orzo she'd coat her blade in a mixture of black and white ki. "Take this! Orzo!" She called out suddenly as she swiped her blade forward. "Demon Fang!" She cried out sending a wave of ki forth that, unless stopped, would surely be enough to knock out the dog. She was curious though: just how would the two would handle the situation?
Fired [N1] Demon Fang toward Orzo for 4,950 PL worth of damage! Intent to KO! KP 1/3 Serene Mind will fade next turn! Sorry for the delay I didn't even realize it was my turn! |
