The Empire's acquisition of Beppa had gone splendedly, not only had Korbinn and the Beppan council been more than willing to work out a deal for Beppa to join the Empire and officially seperate themselves from the Arcosian's but also Habana got a chance to compete in an actual GPW match AND THEN became GPW Universal champion, sure she'd always been a bit more fond of the look of the World Championship but she wasn't about to split hairs on that point and considering she was unlikely to be able to keep up with visiting Beppa personally enough to actually maintain the title Korrbin had said there was a decent chance he would be bringing back the old belt to have something for the GPW's warriors to compete for.
There still were some issues that needed to be dealt with on Beppa, the remnants of the Arcosian governance on the planet needed to be told to either keep in line with the leadership change on Beppa or to get out, Habana could already expect some of those encounters would NOT go particularly well.
It was strange still that there was no official response from the AE yet, she'd expected SOMETHING after taking a world like Beppa from them. Perhaps it would just be a matter of waiting for something to shake loose, if there was literally no response and things went well with Beppa she'd have to start seriously debating taking more of the AE's territory, the other worlds would be a bit more difficult and probably require a more genuinely hostile takeover.
Frist though she needed to wrap things up on Beppa, and to start she wanted to figure out what the hell was going on with the rogue Saiyan they had met. Jala had reported that they had a very brief brawl and what little she'd gotten out of Koshu had indicated that he and those associated with him(presumably more saiyans) were genuinely unaware of the Empire's existance.
After Koshu's defeat Jala had called in the Zenith and dumped the strange Saiyan into the medbay to get his rib's patched up. Stepping into the medbay Habana took a quick look around searching for his power.

Koshu stirred suddenly, and then immediately regretted that decision. A shooting pain pulsed through his torso, and he softly hissed out loud. "Damn—" Koshu began to grunt in pain as he opened his eyes. But when he noticed the strange nature of his surroundings, the saiyan forgot about his pain entirely.
He was dowsed in artificial light. Lying down in a bed, the saiyan appeared to be the only one in the medical bay. He wasn't sure how or why he got here, but he was immediately immersed in urgency. He was either in a space ship, in Beppan captivity, or on a different planet. He wasn't sure which of the three was worse.
Immediately, Koshu swung his legs down to the side of the bed, sitting his body upwards by the abs. After the initial shock, the pain of his ribs was really nothing he couldn't handle. Koshu placed one hand on his ribs, feeling out each one and pressing on them gently. Only one of them still made him cringe in pain, and not terribly at that. Whoever had done work on him did a good job.
Assessing that his injuries weren't enough to impede him, the dark skinned saiyan was on his feet. The only covering he had was a gown designed for surgery patients in the medbay. The saiyan half contemplated tearing it off; there was something that made him uncomfortable about wearing clothes outside of his typical jumpsuit.
The saiyan's strength had increased considerably in mere hours since his injury, the recovery had magnified his base power by almost a third. Koshu tilted his head to the side, eliciting a satisfying crack in his neck.
Ultimately, Koshu decided against going nude, and looked over at the door to the medbay, taking a few brisk steps forward just as it slid open and revealed… The "sayian."
Koshu paused mid step and settled, standing unmoved. "You said your name was Habana."

It was impressive to see that the wild Saiyan was able to hoist himself up to a sitting position, even more so that he was able to actually stand and walk without too much difficulty considering the fact that at the moment the Zenith was only equipped with standard medical facilities and lacked proper recuperation tanks.
“That I did though I do believe there was a ‘Queen’ in there somewhere” Habana said giving Koshu a grin that indicated she did not actually mind him not using the title “You’re looking surprisingly good for a man who had to have most of his ribs repaired, everything feeling alright? I’d been planning to have some rejuvenation tanks installed but we departed for Beppa a bit too early to actually have that done” Habana said with a shrug, she hadn’t considered the tanks a priority mostly because she hadn’t considered it likely she would need them.
“All things considered it seems like even getting your ass handed to you ended up being decent for you, you’ve gotten even stronger since I last saw you. You’ve got some serious balls to have Jala go at you with everything shes got, you’re probably lucky she’s been at this long enough to know how to not kill you with that hit.”

Koshu met Habana halfway through the room, his eyes searching her up and down. She still had her tail, her body was sturdy, and her coy expression conveyed confident strength. For a moment, Koshu felt a flash of an emotion usually reserved for intimate private caverns. "Queen Habana then," Koshu grunted coarsely. The man's stubble was sprouting like newly planted seeds, scruff creeping across the cut of his jaw. "I'm doing well enough."Feeling his ribs again, Koshu pressed on the loose one, hissing quietly in pain. Something about the sharp ache was comforting. "This isn't the ship you came to Beppa on, is it?" Koshu asked quietly, attempting to be polite for a moment. Habana commented on the state of his body, and on how badly his ass had been handed to him. "It was…" Koshu smiled almost imperceptibly, "Refreshing." He was proud of his sturdy, stocky frame, and proud of the injury he could take. Like an elephant, Koshu was born for war: intrinsically familial and intelligent, built to crush. "I don't get a chance to fight like that often. I'd love to go another round with her," his stare was magnetic, "or with you." The Saiyan licked his lips blatantly. "Do you have anything to eat?" The recovery feast was the most important part of the Full Throttle. Koshu cracked his knuckles and wrapped his tail around his waist. Half of him wanted to recover and eat, but the other half wanted to find out all he could about these strange people. "Jala and I came to agreement that we would exchange information after the fight."

“Pretty sure you’re not supposed to poke at those for a bit, they should hold up but you’re better off not pressing your luck.” Habana said with a shake of her head as she watched Koshu press at his ribs as if to test their current integrity. Logistically speaking he could function entirely normally and even fight with them, her medics had QUITE a lot of experience patching up foolhardy Saiyan's who pushed themselves just a bit too far. But they would be more than a little agitated if Koshu required assistance so soon after surgery.
“No it is not, the Eclipse is a very small ship with just about enough room for myself and Jala to have a bit of leg room. This is my capital ship, the Zenith. It’s got a fairly large crew though a lot of the soldiers who were brought over on it are being reassigned to clearing out the Arcosian Empire’s bases.” Habana said, normally it would probably have been best to keep quiet on what the soldiers had been reassigned to do or that there had been additional forces brought along at all. But it was clear this man had some issues with trust so perhaps learning that they were rooting out the AE would do some good towards keeping him talking.
“You’re a bit on the masochistic side aren't you?” Habana said with a laugh at Koshu asking if he could have another round against Jala or even more amusing, herself. “Once your ribs are properly set we can see about you and Jala smacking each other around a bit, this time ideally with you getting a chance to have some real offense. I’d be willing to do the same but I’m not so sure with your preference for having your opponent go all out that would be so good for you. Jala’s tough and all but her top end is a bit under my baseline, and I can magnify my power quite a lot more than she can” Habana said with a shrug, it wasn’t quite a ‘no’ to his request but Habana wasn’t sure the older Saiyan would like that in order to even have anything resembling a fight with her she would need to ‘treat him like a child’ as he had put it to Jala.
“We can handle your stomach and the info trade all at once, toss your clothes on and we can head to the kitchens. Jala's busy organizing shit so you're stuck with me for now.” Habana said with a grin before turning to step out of the med bay leaning up against the outside wall to give the older Saiyan some privacy.

Habana expressed her concern as Koshu shifted the bone back and forth with his pointer finger, and he smiled casually as she spoke about pressing his luck. "My mother used to tell me the same thing."
Koshu nodded along as she spoke, his eyes fixed on a suit of armor hanging on the wall. He connected the mental image of the original ship she arrived on to the name. This ship had to be much much larger. When the queen mentioned the word arcosian, Koshu's eyes finally snapped away from the sheen of the black-teal chest plate he'd been fixated on.
"I didn't quite catch that—" One of Koshu's eyebrows raised slightly, his mouth open imperceptibly as if he was trying to look closely at something in front of him, "You said the Arcosian Empire? You work with them, or you're against them?"
When she joked about his lust for battle, the Beppan born saiyan didn't quite follow the humor of the situation. "Yes. Are you not? It is saiyan nature to embrace the Full Throttle." Did the queen of this empire not hold the same lust for battle, wether ending in pain or victory?
But Koshu's concerned evaporated when Habana offered to set him back up with Jala… And perhaps, after this full throttle, he was capable of keeping up with her better. But the man's mind clicked suddenly, cracking with skeptic fissures. "She…" Koshu wasn't sure how to phrase this comment without offending the apparent 'queen.' The dark skinned saiyan wouldn't say any more on the topic, but his body stiffened, as if suddenly hostile to the hospitality of his supposed fellow saiyans. He had almost let his guard down, but as far as he knew, these were still impostors… Powerful, dangerous imposters.
Something triggered a gleam in Koshu's wearied eyes. "Magnify your power..." He husked, cracking a slight grin, "The great ape form?" This was something he would love to talk about. He was passionate about his own intense training in the true saiyan state, albeit still unable to completely control it. If she could take wield the great ape form with ease… Her authenticity as a saiyan would immediately be validated.
Koshu nodded shortly to the offering of food and information, and she advised him to change into something more suitable, joking that he was stuck with her. For the first time in the conversation, he chuckled in a low tone.
The dark skinned saiyan didn't bother closing the door behind her, paying no mind as she leaned outside the doorway.
Scars tore across his broad shoulders, lining his arms and grazing across his chest. Most of them had healed, but a few recent ones remained. He took a moment admiring his newest, the surgical incision that sliced across his lower left abdomen, etched atop his ribcage.
Finally picking up his clothes, Koshu slid into his own dark green jumpsuit, wrapping his arms in bandages and pulling a glove onto each hand before slipping into his boots. Without hesitation, the saiyan decided to don the blackish armor mounted on the wall, finding it surprisingly elastic and easy to move in.
Koshu's boots clicked against the sterile flooring of the Zenith as he emerged from the open arc, facing Habana.
"Where to?"

“I picked that up from mine as well, seems she still has a knack for busting ribs” Habana said with a roll of her eyes as she recalled brief snippets of her youth training with her mother, the familial bonds they shared had don't very little in the way of having Jala restrict herself during training as she wanted the best out of her, to know that even if Habana kept getting herself in trouble that she could back herself up with raw power.
“I suppose the best description would be that we are against them, though the Arcosians are far too disorganized at the moment to even really be properly considered a force to oppose. That's part of why I chose Beppa as one of the first planets I want to claim from the Arcosians” Habana said with a shrug.
“I love a good fight, the problem is that there aren’t actually many beings in the universe that can genuinely go toe to toe with me when I’m giving it my all…” Habana paused as Koshu questioned if the magnification she mentioned was the Oozaru form for a very brief moment her lips would quirk into a frown at the mention of the form.
“No not that, though that does sort of help with explaining things now that I think of it. You have a rough idea that you’re massively more powerful when you become an Oozaru right?” Habana barely even paused to allow Koshu to respond simply assuming that even if he lacked control of the form he’d experienced the transformation enough to remember the raw power it provided.
“Imagine being capable of that sort of strength at any time, sounds nice right? I have a power that magnifies my power by nearly triple what the Oozaru transformation does, at any time. Combining that with the fact that I right now posses the same level of strength you would have if you were in that state and that might help you understand why it is I generally don't or rather CAN'T really go all out. I have a few people who can withstand that power to train with but even then they don't quite reach that level.” Habana explained while leading the older Saiyan through the ship in the direction of the kitchens.
Turning back as she walked she took a moment to look him over, with the new armor he would very easily fit right in with the rest of the Empire, even if his personality was a bit… off.. But it wasn’t exactly like he’d be the first Saiyan to return from being sent off as a child with a few absurd quirks. Zoraba was pretty much the poster boy for it.

Koshu remembered his own mother vaguely, but Beppan saiyans were rather old by the time the settled down to reproduce, and so she died while he was still only a child. Her resounding advice was not to pick his wounds, and to always stick with his gut. So far today, he'd let her down on both fronts.
Although one thing was for certain: Koshu was pleased to hear that the Saiyan Solar Empire did not work in tandem with the arcosians. But it wasn't until Habana spoke the words "claim from the arcosians" that Koshu truly processed what had gone on. Beppa used to be under arcosian jurisdiction. Now, due to the actions of this one individual… It was under control of an Empire of saiyans.
An Empire of saiyans controlled Beppa. The thought made his head spin, and he found himself grinning dumbly, his eyes crinkling in giddy disbelief. "You really are something," Koshu said with a dumbfounded laugh, "You and your Saiyan Empire. I'd love a chance to be on the offensive side of your next claim." The idea of fighting alongside other saiyans—strange light skinned piercingless empire saiyans or not—and taking planets from the arcosian empire… The thought of it procured lust from his body ike a syringe.
As he quickly changed, he didn't bother to look at the saiyan outside, simply continuing the conversation.
But how saiyan was she? She seemed vaguely uncomfortable at the sound of the word Great Ape, and his scanning eyes registered every grimace of her features. Were empire saiyans against the great ape form? Did they neglect their most primal and base instincts?
Koshu nodded with a grunt as she drew information from him, his eyes reflecting the image of the great ape he held in his memory.
She continued though, spinning a strange story about a transformation that magnified power far greater than that of the "Oozaru" form, as she called it. And even stranger, she claimed to have the strength of his full great ape might simply standing here. The dark skinned saiyan's large hand rested onto the edge of the doorway as they spoke, and when they started to walk he moved in sync beside her, boots clicking with unapologetic rhythm.
Although eyes were vigilant, looking for crew members—if she was telling the truth, there would be other saiyans on the ship—he occasionally locked eyes with her to speak.
"You have the power of the great ape— Just walking." His tone was skeptical, but it didn't seem impossible. His mind flashed back to the first time he met her near the Dore Outpost: she had moved with incredible speed, that much was true. But what transformation was she referring to? "So what is it? An enhanced ape form?" He mused allowed in a low tone, tightening his ponytail for a short instant, "A transformative application of the Full Throttle?" He smirked out loud at his proposals, flights of fantasy. Was he really to believe this woman?
They paused outside a door, and the supposed queen turned back and glanced him up and down. Koshu remained completely unphased, looking at her with blank patience. But subtly, his eyes flickered across her own frame, and he assessed her up and down. Had it not been for her strange mannerisms, and if she was in fact a saiyan, she would've been a suitable sparring partner. Her hair was strange. Koshu dismissed a desire to touch it.
His stomach growled. "This is the mead hall, then?"

“Assuming you rejoin.. Or well I suppose actually join the Empire I don't see much reason to hold you back from active duty, you’ve got the power to handle yourself against most threats, you might need a bit of time adjusting to how things work in the Empire and the equipment we use but having another hand in battle is exactly why I took Beppa” Habana said with a grin glad to see the older Saiyan already taking an interest in at the very least fighting alongside the Empire, it would be important to understand from his reaction how interested he seemed in becoming a part of the Empire.
Saiyans unaffiliated with the Empire were certainly not a foreign concept to her but the majority were those who had grown uncomfortable with the Empire’s path at some point and then gone off to, more often than not, Earth. But Koshu lacked even a concept of the Empire which meant at the very least it was unlikely he was a result of Saiyans departing the Empire for Beppa of all places.
“No, it's something that was discovered a long time ago a form that’s generally rare due to the power and conditions necessary to achieve it. It’s called ‘Super Saiyan’ though with more power and training I and a few others have discovered ways of pushing it even further. I’m… actually not entirely sure what you mean when you say ‘full throttle’.” Habana paused her thoughts for a moment remembering something after Koshu had mentioned it.
“There IS an enhanced version of Oozaru, the previous Queen was capable of the transformation to that form, from my understanding it’s essentially a blend of Super Saiyan and Oozaru, it takes quite a lot of training to actually achieve and even more to keep your mind stable in it. The Super Saiyan transformation can push past even a Super Oozaru’s power with enough training, I’m still working to figure out if there is anything beyond the current state I’ve achieved so there is a chance I’ve actually reached the peak of Saiyan power” Habana said with a shrug her tone indicating she highly doubted that to be the case.
Sure it was possible but she didn't WANT it to be true, she was far more interested in perhaps being the one to discover the next level of Saiyan power. Habana briefly chuckled at Koshu’s archaic description of the entrance to the mess hall “Yeah I guess you could say that” approaching the doorway the sensors detected her presence and with a faint ‘swoosh’ opened revealing a large room with many tables, most were empty as much of the excess crewmembers were actually out on Beppa but a few tables sported groups of SSE loyal races.
Chiefly the races present were, of course, Saiyans, however, there were a not insubstantial number of Kobochans, Shirts, and even a few Namekians, Warriors from Accordio’s groups that were interested in seeing more of the universe. At the far north end of the room was a long buffet line style setup with several weaker workers manning the setup preparing for the inevitable food rush that would happen shortly “Grab whatever you want, they’re still setting up for dinner but with as many Saiyans as we have they know to make more” the food present was a wild representation of the cuisine of all the core Empire worlds as well as a few delecacies picked up from extensive encounters with Earth. Upon Habana's entrance several of the crew gave quick salutes to the Queen one managing to splater his own face with his pasta in his haste, Habana simply shook her head and waved off the efforts with a grin.

Koshu considered Habana's words carefully as she spoke, noting that she saw no reason to hold him back from active duty in this Empire. She even mentioned that gaining forces against the arcosains was the exact reason why she took Beppa in the first place. Koshu simply grunted in the affirmative, his eyes fixated on a wall fixture.
He could use this Empire to expand his horizons, and the horizons of his people significantly. But what was to become of them in this seemingly massive entity of war?
The way that Habana spoke of him "rejoining"… As if his people had always been part of her Empire, and only recently broken off. There was far more to the Beppan saiyans than integration into this war, and in spite of the tantalizing promises of war, the dark skinned saiyan remained skeptical. Moments earlier he was excited to use the empire to his advantage, but Habana seemed hard to pin down. How did he know that the Empire wasn't to use him? He would not let the original saiyan people fall to foot soldiers in somebody else's war.
Habana clarified on Koshu's speculation, noting that her ascended form was entirely separate from the Great Ape.
"Super Saiyan…" The older saiyan tasted the words in his mouth, peeling back his upper lip in distaste. "Kind of corny, isn't it?"
"The full throttle—" Koshu was genuinely perplexed this time, "Certainly you've felt it, even if you haven't known the name." Or maybe her race of saiyans was simply inferior, incapable of the infinite power of battle. "The Full Throttle pushes a saiyan further each time he falls at the edge of death."
When Habana mentioned the previous queen, Koshu's eyes turned discerning. He wanted to know more about the previous royalty of this Empire. How was power exchanged hands? How long had they existed? But for now, he bit his tongue, simply continuing the current line of conversation. Once Habana steered the topic back to the great ape form, Koshu reengaged. "A blend of Super Saiyan and Great Ape," he repeated back, as if trying to process this information. The peak of saiyan power.
"If there are means to perfect the Great Ape form, I will conquer them." He stated in brief, only slightly letting on to the conviction behind his low murmurs.
As they entered the mess hall, Koshu raised his eyebrow. Why did she seem to be laughing at him? Perhaps she was simply too strange to reconcile. But his thoughts about the queen quickly diverted as his entire focus was devoted to scanning out his surroundings.
Scattered across various tables sat Namekians, Kabochan… And certainly, there was no doubting it: saiyans. Some of these saiyans even came in complexions slightly darker than the pale queen, but none that matched Koshu's own skin. But regardless of their skin and strange hairstyles, their biology couldn't lie. Functioning tails coiled around waists, or dangled loosely off the back of table benches.
The amount of saiyans sitting in this room must have been almost a fifth of Beppa's entire adult saiyan population. And if ships like this were scattered out across the universe… Koshu's eyes melted into glassy shock.
The dark skinned saiyan's mouth hung slightly open, and he licked his lips slightly before closing it, barely registering Habana's words. In spite of his shock, he continued to pace directly along side her in mirror image. His eyes shot across the buffet; almost all of the food present was considered an exotic luxury or an oddity on Beppa, with the primary form of sustenance being grains and simple meats.
But Koshu was set in his ways, and something tickled him into the familiar. Eat the food of a stranger and you could be trapped in his realm forever. And so the saiyan, older and more traditioned than most of the youthful recruits in the mess hall, picked up two bowls in favor of the trays sitting in a stack at the edge of the buffet. He traveled down the line, scooping massive helpings of familiars: meat which was familiar, if an an imported delicacy, and large mounds of rice.
The bowls were clearly made for soups, not full meals, and so they looked stuffed to a point of almost absurdity… He could always come back for more.
Engrossed in the smell of his meal, Kooshu lead Habana out of the partition of the room for the buffet and sat down at an empty table, placing his bowls down beside each other and looking across the table at her.
He pulled one of the bowls close to him and began picking out balls of rice, and then stuffed his cheeks with a taking a bite of meat. Once he swallowed, he looked back up at his new companion, deciding to get down to business. "So, tell me about the previous royalty of the Saiyan Solar Empire… And how long it has existed for."

Habana chuckled at Koshu calling the ‘Super Saiyan’ a bit corny, it was perhaps a bit of a underwhelming name for the legendary form but even still it’s legacy carried enough weight that the average Saiyan would not normally consider the oddity of the name. Before she could comment on it he gave her the explanation of what he had meant by ‘full throttle’ it took a few moments for her to figure out what it was he was describing. “The Zenkai? I think that’s what you are describing, if so then no the SUper Saiyan form isn’t quite a transformative version of it, though from what I’ve seen most need to be pushed to a similar level to aid in pushing past the barrier to achieving the transformation, it takes a bit more than just a physical beating though, it also takes genuine fury or a NEED for the power to finally break through.” Habana explained doing her best to explain to Koshu the requirements to achieve the golden form, there was little need to hold the information back from him, he was a Saiyan and if he kept growing stronger one day he WOULD achieve the form if the situation presented itself.
Thus far Habana wasn’t aware of anyone actually forcing the transformation outside of a situation where they truly needed it so him knowing that would not change anything if he needed the power and had the potential it didn't matter if he knew about it or not. He actually seemed far more interested in the Super Oozaru form over anything else which brought an amused grin to Habana’s lips, it really was a very attractive concept to most Saiyans she had to imagine, from what she understood the Oozaru was an amazing rush of power and where some other races had a few methods of augmenting their power until a Saiyan achieved Super Saiyan they were generally ‘stuck’ with their base power outside of Oozaru.
Habana shook her head in amusement as Koshu loaded himself up with meats and rice, even more amusingly using only bowls to hold his food an action that seemed to serve to only make transporting it MORE difficult for him, Habana grabbed a few sets of ribs for herself and as Koshu sought a place to sit she told one of Kabochan’s refilling the now somewhat depleted meats to have one of the others in the back to keep an eye on the table and bring out more for herself and Koshu if it seemed necessary, better this over having their discussion interrupted by constantly going back for more.
Taking a seat across from the older Saiyan Habana took a few bites out of her food deciding to give it a few moments before continuing conversation, it was however Koshu who started up again this time he seemed interested in the previous royalty of the Empire. “You know, I believe you said this would be an exchange of information, generally an exchange goes both ways. So how about you let me know a bit about things here on Beppa, Jala and I are already fairly certain you and your ward aren’t the only Saiyans around. The child’s got too much of the Saiyan look to be anything short of a pure Saiyan, which means there’s a woman around somewhere, and I’d say he's probably not yours so that means a man as well. From what Jala described you seem pretty protective of them so I won’t ask you where they are. Instead how about you tell me how many of you there are here? It’s very strange how detached you are from the Empire, I don't imagine you’re just some Saiyans whose pods veered off course from its intended destination, it's absurdly unlikely that ALL of your pods would have failed so catastrophically that you wouldn't know about the Empire. So aside from how many of you there are, I’m also curious how LONG have Saiayans been on Beppa.”
“And to at least give you a bit of an answer to your question, I am the third Queen of the Empire in its newest state, for a long while things were run by a rather ineffective council, the first Queen to put an end to that was Vennel. She was challenged and subsequently defeated by the second queen shortly after her reign began, my close friend Zucceta, about half a year ago she stepped down from the position and I have since taken the throne.”

As Koshu sat, he wolfed down his bowls, sharking food into his mouth and swallowing it quickly and quietly. Habana seemed to want information from him as much as he wanted information from her. Koshu smirked slightly, and then turned with delight as a kabochan arrived next to him with another bowl of rice and meat. He could get used to this.
The dark skinned saiyan listened to Habana's list of conclusions, his eyes stagnant. The man pulled himself a bit closer to the table, his elbows anchoring to the plastic on each side of the bowl and scooting his chair forwards. She was right. He was backed into a corner now, there was no denying the existence of the Beppan Saiyans. And even if there was, it didn't seem that habana had any particular desire to find out their location, only their history.
She continued on, noting how strange their detachment from the empire was. Koshu suppressed a cringe; he wished she wouldn't keep talking about his people within the context of her own Empire. But he supposed there was no helping it.
"You're right in assuming that my people are no lost squadron of this Saiyan Solar Empire," Koshu began, having finished his third bowl moments earlier, "Just looking at the differences between us should be enough to demonstrate that."
"My people, The Beppan-Saiyans," Koshu began, grunting at a moderately low tone so that his words wouldn't carry through the whole damn mess hall, "Number in the dozens. By my last count there are seventy two adults, and twenty two children." As Koshu let that sink in, he cleared his throat and reached back, his hands tightening his ponytail. The man's eyebrow ring flickered slightly as he moved.
After giving her a partial answer, he'd allow her to speak her part. He wanted to know about the history of this Empire before he continued.
"Power changes hands quickly," Was Koshu's grunt of a comment. The empire appeared to be sporadic.
He considered his next words carefully. Should he learn the rest of the information on the Saiyan Empire before recounting his own tale? Was there any use in hiding the history of the saiyan race from her? Perhaps she could use a history lesson.
"The history of my people is a far more interesting tale than our numbers." Koshu wasn't sure how to phrase this. There were clearly many more empire saiyans than there were Beppans. How likely was she to believe the fact that his people were the true born original saiyans?
"Hundreds of thousands of years ago," Koshu spoke without wavering, "The saiyan people were born from the Beppan volcanoes with skin as black as obsidian."
A pause.
"But there were very few of us. We were forced to copulate with the apes of the Beppan mountaintops, and the generations lightened us from the true state of purity. The Full Throttle comes from our divine souls, while the Great Ape comes from our visceral primate ancestors. That is the nature of the saiyan: the alchemy of volcanic divinity and apelike instinct."
Koshu retold the story as if he had lived it himself.
"Saiyans once ruled Beppa," Koshu noted in a husk, "But the arcosian empire came and beat us— To near extinction. We were forced to reproduce with Beppans in order to survive, and our numbers dwindled in order to remain undetected. We have been living in hiding ever since." The dark skinned saiyan turned to Habana with a look of conviction. "These rings we wear are forged from the same volcanic metals from which the saiyan race was born. Only by taming our primal tails with our purified steel can we gain balance over our ancestry."
"I suppose at some point in history—maybe when we conquered Beppa—a few of us broke off." Koshu was so focused on the story that he didn't notice a blue brenchian lingering just a few feet too close to the table. "Unlimited by the genocidal Arcosians, those saiyans must've been the ones who founded your Empire."
Koshu chuckled at the irony of it, looking over at Habana with a grin. "I would wager that you never expected to stumble across your true home world as a spoil of conquest."

Habana gave a shrug at Koshu’s comment on power changing quickly in the Empire, it wasn’t quite worthwhile to interrupt him now when he was starting to give her a bit of information on his people. It was surprising to learn that the Saiyans of Beppa were close to hitting one hundred citizens, that was QUITE a lot of lost Saiyans and most certainly needed a bit of explaining in terms of how they had actually gotten here and how they had avoided notice for so long.
And without further prompting Koshu indicated he would be explaining the history she sought. And boy did things start off odd, a claim that it began ‘hundreds of thousands’ of years ago didn’t QUITE make sense but that was easily reconcilable by assuming it was closer to ‘a few thousand’ records of the Empire’s work and actions from that long ago were vague at best after all.
But that quickly became irrelevant in the fact of the full magnitude of Koshu’s story as he spoke of the Saiyans being born of Beppan volcanos, mating with giant apes and the Beppan’s themselves and more confusing information that sounded a whole lot more like a fantastical story rather than a genuine account of their history.
But as Habana sat listening in silence and waiting for the point where Koshu would spring on her the ‘ha ha just kidding, funny story right?’ part of things but the more he spoke the more impassioned he became and it was with a grin that he claimed Beppa to be the true home world of the Saiyans.
Habana blinked a few times waiting a few moments to make sure Koshu’s wild ride had truly come to a stop, once she was certain of this she slowly got up from her seat “I’ll be right back, if you need anything ask Banra.” Habana said as she stepped away from the tables and through the mess hall pushing past the doorway that lead directly to the kitchens.
A few of the cooks looked up to see who it was and were caught off guard when they noticed it was the Queen herself some half pausing their work to see if she needed anything from them or if something had been wrong with the food but a simple raising of the hand and waving them off returned them to their work.
She stepped further into the kitchens until she found the cabinet used to contain cooking wines, digging deep into the back she found the prize she sought, a tall old bottle of Saiyan Spirits it was about half full and several of the cooks looked a bit nervous but another look from the queen told them she was not here to take issue with it non-cooking alcohol they had been stashing.
Quite the opposite she was VERY glad it was here and would be making sure she replaced it as she uncorked the top and took a deep drink.
Habana did not often drink much in recent times, she’d been just a bit too busy as Commander and now Queen to enjoy any of her usual bar’s, the fact she also tended to intimidate those who recognized her now also made such visits a bit less enjoyable.
But boy oh boy did she need this right now because the tale Koshu had told was absurd to the extreme and he seemed to very genuinely believe it which would make explaining the real history of the Saiyan a whole hell of a lot more difficult. Taking a few more swigs from the bottle she placed it back where it had been hidden, let out a long sigh, and departed the kitchen returning to her seat across from Koshu.

Koshu watched as Habana got up from her seat. She looked almost woozy with something. His face slackened, hoping she wasn't about to patronize him.
"Of course, take your time," Koshu replied as she left, digging into a new dish of meat in her absence. When she returned, she smelled vaguely of liquor. Koshu's nose twitched thrice as he made sure the scent was correct, then cocked his head slightly.
It was liquor. For a brief moment, the dark-skinned saiyan sat in tense, powder-keg silence. When he next spoke, it was a short, blunt grunt.
"Got any more of that?"
Regardless of her answer, the saiyan would push to his feet and tilt the bowl to his lips, swallowing the remaining rice in a gulp. "Let's head back to discuss this in more private quarters," Koshu's gaze lingered on her, his eyes like that of a puma feasting on an elk. "And by all means, bring the liquor, if you've got any more."

Habana made a vague gesture at Banra that the young Brenchian understood well enough to know it meant ‘go get him a glass’ considering it had come just after Koshu had asked if she had more, presumably there WAS more somewhere but she really only knew about this specific bottle because it technically belonged to Akushi, he simply left it behind for the others when not on kitchen duty.
As the quick-footed Brenchian dashed off to get a suitable glass Koshu pushed back from his seat and stood earning a raised eyebrow from the Queen, followed by a look of mixed confusion and annoyance as he tried to move things away from the mess hall. Habana generally had more than enough patience to deal with others trying to take control of a situation and move it how they wanted and the fact that she was Queen also usually helped as most usually avoided such direct attempts to be so pushy.
But Akushi was quite the connoisseur of alcohol and nothing he purchased(or ‘obtained’) was anything less than powerful and the speed and amount Habana had taken in the drink was just enough to dull her patience “I think you greatly overestimate your input on where I go” Habana said her expression showing clear annoyance and her her hair shifting as if briefly hit by a gust of air and very briefly pulsing gold as her energy pushed out like a stiff breeze giving even those ordinarily incapable of feeling energy a vague understanding of what they were dealing with.
Very brief use of Super Saiyan, followed by dropping back down to base.
