Name: Spinek
Species: Saiyan
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Appearance: Spinek stands at 6 feet tall with a full head of dark black hair that is pointed at the front. He has dark skin and because of a rare genetic mutation has red eyes. Spinek always has a stern look on his face as if he is preparing for the most difficult battle that the universe will ever record in its timeline. He is often seen wearing Saiyan battle armor which consists of the torso piece and shoulder pads. Instead of the standard white/black and gold color scheme for his armor, Spinek chose to change the shoulder pads and stomach portion black, from what used to be gold, and decided to change the remaining chest, oblique, and back portion red, from what used to be white. He opts out of wearing a shirt under his armor as a way to make him look more intimidating but does wear gold colored wrist cuffs on each wrist with matching gold colored boots. Spinek wears long white gi pants so he is able to increase his mobility in battle.

History:
There are two things that I have learned from my experiences… One, not all men are created equal, I first learned this at a very young age.
I was born on Planet Vegeta. I was raised by my two parents, my father Coornor and my mother Caul. My Father was naturally strong and didn't train much, but the reason for that was because he didn’t have to. He worked for this Arcosian named Sikill. Sikill wasn't like the other Arcosians that ruled over planets. He ran a black market weapon trading system, he would hire strong warriors that just weren't strong enough to make it in there own planet's army. Planet Vegeta had a lot of those. Of course he would never set foot on Planet Vegeta and instead sent his lackeys to do the recruiting for him. My dad always came home with stories of how Sikill was always praising my father as his strongest warrior. He frequently took my father on missions, my father was always in my life though. When he would come home I would stop whatever I was doing and have a sparring match with him. He never went easy on me which of course made those moments even more fun. Mom didn’t seem to like Sikill much. One time I asked her why she despises him so much when he lets my father battle on missions so that we have food on the table. “Friends don’t let their friends go into battles alone, friends don’t let their friend risk their life while they sit back to take the credit”. She walked away and I made a mental note to never bring that up again.
I always found my mother to be training somewhere around the house, everyday she was always looking for ways to become better, faster, stronger. Even when she got back from her Combat training or Weight training I would find her easily breaking the 500 pushup mark. At the time I was ten years old and was astounded by her work ethic. It’s crazy how intensely she worked, to others she looked like a seasoned warrior preparing to go off to war against one thousand soldiers, but to me she was always just mom.
I remember one time she asked if I wanted to have a pushup contest, I blew up with excitement and it only grew as we got into position. I was trying to keep up with her pace while she never broke a sweat. I got to 503 before I finally dropped. As I was panting on the floor I didn’t interrupt mom as she kept going she hated being interrupted during training. So instead I just kept counting… it seemed like it would never end. “639… 716… 856…”. Mom finally stopped. “Wow mom you just did 942!”. “Ya, what’s your point”. I frowned and put my head down, but then my mom picked me up and said… “How many did you do? Did you reach 200?”. With my head still down I told her that I did 503. “Wow! When did you get that strong?” she said as she hugged me. That moment really showed me how much she cared about me, I already knew she cared and I knew she was just saying that to encourage me, but that moment showed a different side of her to me that I had never seen… or ever would see again.
I trained everyday as well as her and she continued with her usual and recognizable attitude. She pointed out every little thing that I had been doing wrong. “Your form was awful” or “At that speed you couldn’t beat a single Saibaman”. I didn’t take it personally, I knew that she was just trying to help me become the strongest that I could be.
One night one of Sikill’s lackeys came into the house. My parents and I were finishing up dinner. “Lord Sikill is calling for his best Saiyan troops”. My mom glared at my dad. “Coornor what’s this about”. “I’m not sure”. My dad asked why he was being called. “It’s not just you sir” the lackey said “Lord Sikill is calling for a relocation of his top Saiyan troops and their families”. My dad seemed excited, my mom not so much. “This is great! My skills on the battlefield continue to be recognized”. “Hang on Coornor we need to look more into this, where and why are we being relocated?”. The lackey responded by saying we were to be moving to Sikill’s royal ship so that he can deploy troops faster into key areas on the battlefield, but only wants his top soldiers on the ship” Before my mom could say another word he ran throughout the house packing all of our stuff. My mom looked troubled “Look Caul this is a great opportunity for me, for us, and besides if anything goes wrong I have confidence that we could beat any opponent that comes are way. Even Sikill, maybe Spinek could even get some blows in, hahaha!” my mom smiled “what do you think Spinek, this way we’ll never be apart again” After him saying that I happily accepted. We took 3 pods the following night.
When we reached the ship we along with several other Saiyan families were greeted by the entire crew. They took our bags to our rooms and there was a gigantic seat laid out for everyone. The tables had names on them to specify where each family would sit, but once all the Saiyans saw food it got chaotic. I ran to go grab some, but then I was stopped by the sound of trumpets. Two rows of soldiers stood across from each other saluting as an all white Arcosian came walking with his arms behind his back, Lord Sikill, at least that’s what I assumed. I had never seen Sikill, few actually had. It was hard to believe that few had ever seen this famous warlord, then again, anyone who had ever seen him were probably killed in battle. A strategic move played by him to keep the whole universe in confusion. Everyone was quiet. Sikill slowly made his way to a platform where an enormous silver throne had been built. He sat down and put an open hand into the air to signal us to continue to eat. Everyone cheered and began stuffing their faces again.
After everyone was finished eating the kids started to hold their own little tournament and all the adults gathered around to place bets. I didn’t go though something didn’t feel right. All of the other I noticed two soldiers that seemed to be looking directly at me and my mom, come to think of it, the entire perimeter of the ship was lined with Alien soldiers with loaded guns. My mom noticed this to. “Hey why don’t you go to the room and get some rest” I looked at her and nodded and left for our room. I was walking down our hallway when two guards stopped me. “Hey where are you going monkey”. They pointed their guns at me. “What did you say to me” I said with my back still turned towards them. “You heard me primitive- AHHH!” I jumped up and kicked him square in the jaw, while he was on the ground I started beating him. Suddenly I heard the whir of blaster charging up. “You're about to be extinct monk-GAH!” I looked behind me to see my mom’s fist through the second guard's chest. “Spinek we are all in terrible danger. Come with me”. “Wait mom what’s going-”. “I said come wth me now!”. I shut my mouth and we ran back to the party area.
As we walked into the room Sikill looked at us dead in the eye while still sitting on top of his throne. I had never felt so scared in my life. Sikill stood up and everyone stopped what they were doing as he started to speak. “You chosen elites have the honor of serving in my army”. The crowd cheered. “Thanks to you we have made sure that no one rivals the almighty power of Lord Sikill”. The crowd cheered. “You have all grown so powerful that I do not even believe that my personal army could defeat you”. The crowd cheered and started thanking him. “... and it is because of that reason that I would like to welcome you all…” He said as he raised an open hand while the crowd cheered again. “...to your doom”. He thrust his hand down and the soldiers open fire.
My mom tackled me behind the doorframe. When we got up all we could see were flashing red lights and we could only hear the sounds of the helpless victims that were being drowned out by the blaster fire. My first thought was of my dad. I was hoping he was not in the room, though I knew he was. As the blaster fire started to die down I started to shake. He saw my mom and I. He knows that we are here. I looked to my mom and she was in a crouched stance as if she were a lion ready to pounce. The blaster fire stopped and my mom rushed inside. I heard the cries of Sikill’s soldiers as they were getting pummeled by the wrath of a purebred warrior. I ran inside of the room to assist mom. I found mom taking on 3 soldiers at once while my dad was in the air taking on the remaining four. “SPINEK! GO HELP OUT YOUR MOTHER! I’LL BE FINE!”. I nodded and flew over to mom as fast as I could. I kicked one soldier in his spine and watched as he crippled to the floor while my mom blasted the other two. We both looked up to go help out dad and quickly looked away when we saw him put his hands to his forehead. “SOLAR FLARE!”. The four soldiers were blinded and while my eyes were still closed I heard five bodies drop to the floor… and a voice that said “How dare you defy me.”
I took a glance and was shocked to see my father being picked up by his throat and thrown across the room by Sikill. “COORNOR! NO!” My mother shouted. She turned her attention to Sikill and charged him. He wasn’t paying attention. Was my mom going to do it? Has all her training led her up to this moment where she will come out as the victor in this battle?
… all of my hope died out as quickly as the energy beam went through her chest.
“MOM!” “CAUL!”
My father quickly rose to his feet “I’ll kill you! I’LL KILL YOU!” he swiftly was performing the most graceful combat moves that I had ever seen. His flurry of attacks seemed like a blur to me, part of the reason because I was still so confused as to what had happened. All of the elites dead, my mother… ugh… my father barely holding his own against Sikill. I rushed over to my mother and held her head up. I tried not to look at the blood that started to surround us. I glanced over at my father who had used up all of his energy and was staring into the eyes of death. Sikill pointed with his index finger across his body. My father asked him “Why are you doing this? We pledged our allegiance to you. What more could you want!?”. “I don’t want anything I simply am done with my old pets.” and with a sweeping motion he swiped his arm back across his body letting out a wave of energy at my father. No blood was shed this time, the energy made a clean cut so that blood didn’t immediately drip from his neck or pour from his remaining body.
“Your parents were weak, if they could not beat me how could you, join me and I will make you strong, we could rule the universe.” “I will never join you!” He punched me across the room. He hit me with a barrage of attacks. I just couldn’t keep up with him. I put my hands to my forehead as he was charging in for another attack “SOLAR FLARE!”... I… I got him. I had to act fast. I quickly picked up my mother and carried her to the escape pods. Sikill screamed “Get back here you worthless monkey!” while trying to regain his sight.
I laid my mom down on the ground while I activated the escape pod. She was starting to regain consciousness. “Sp-Spinek, where’s your father” I began to tear up, and so did she. “I’m going to get us out of here mom. I programmed the ship to go to a nearby planet called earth. I stepped inside the pod and reached for my mom’s hand to pull her in, I felt so relieved that we were finally going to wake up from this crazy nightmare. “Let’s go mom” “Spine-AHHHH!” a beam of energy shot through her once again. “MOM!” “So monkey you thought your little overpowered flashlight move was enough to stop me” Sikill had shot her from across the hall and was coming for me next. “Spinek” “Mom…” I stared at her intensely as she was dying with my hand on the button for departure. I knew the last thing she would want is for me to try and be a hero. Live to fight another day. She taught me that. “Spinek… never...st-stop...training” I nodded not being able to hold back my tears and forced myself to depart from the ship.
As I was flying away into the empty void of space Sikill stared at my pod at the same time I was staring at him outside the window. He walked to a part of the ship where I could no longer see him.
… rule number one, all men are not created equal. While I was in that space pod I had a lot of time to think, and through that time alone I realized why my mom had been training so hard. When there is someone who is stronger than you that means you are not safe. The only way to survive in this world is to be stronger than everyone else and let no one have the upper hand. The two people who knew this best were my mom and… Sikill. As much as I despise him and want to personally have his head mounted on a wall, he taught me a very important lesson. Rule number two power. There are two kinds of people in this world. The strong, and the weak. I will no longer be the latter.
Upon landing on earth I immediately began my training. I was able to find a cave to stay in to continue to hone my fighting skills. It’s hard to believe that the events that took place happened eight years ago. It is now my mission to kill the Arcosian bastard who took everything away from me.
