[PL:342,224][Current PL:100] It was a quiet day like usual on the lookout. The sun reflected off the shining white tiles of the floating palace in the sky. Recently, Etoru has been feeling a little...neglected. His parents were both extremely busy. Bing with running the Serpent School and the Z-Fighters, and Maeve with her duty as Kami and watching over the planet. So yeah, sure Etoru understood, but what really hit him was their time spent with his new sister--Ember. Even with the loss of his limbs, Maeve was dealing with who knows what regarding the planet. The boy wasn't mad, or even sad. He got that they were busy, he was just jealous. And so, after thinking on it, he decided to make his move! Etoru peered over Ember's crib. Beside him was a cardboard box with a postal sticker on it. The demon hybrid was fast asleep, snoozing innocently. Etoru growled under his breath, narrowing his eyes. "She thinks she's so special huh..." he muttered. Etoru floated over the crib, and attempted to scoop up the sleeping child with his real arm, not wanting the touch of cool metal to wake her. He was gonna mail her off across the planet! That'll get rid of her for sure...! --- Maeve Rakshasa

The baby's brows furrowed a bit as she was moved and a little whine escaped her lips but after a moment of resting in her big brother's arms she relaxed and ended up shifting to a more comfortable position. The little hybrid parted her lips and let out a tiny yawn before moving one of her hands up to Etoru's chest. With a surprisingly forceful tug: Ember would bury her face into the comfort of the cloth shirt and resume her peaceful dreaming. If it weren't for Etoru's devious intentions the scene would look genuinely heartwarming.
"...You know she is quite the handful if she wakes up." Maeve's gentle tone filled the room as the demoness faded into existence. The young woman smiled down at her adoptive son as she clasped her hands together. "You're doing great though...Etoru." She encouraged, placing a hand on the half saiyan's head and ruffling his hair playfully. "I sometimes forget how grown up you really are." Not realizing the boy's intention she would turn opening the bedroom door which lead into the family's combined living space.
"Come, lets bring her out here." Maeve urged the boy as she walked out of the room. "You can hold her on the couch and we can watch one of your cartoons." She continued, not realizing the distress that her adopted boy had been going through, instead. She was eager to spend some time with both her children.

Etoru smirked as he successfully scooped the baby into his arm. Though, he immediately grew a face full of regret when he noticed his sisters face scrunch up slightly, letting out a shrill whimper. Thankfully, she seemed to calm down, and gave a look that even Etoru couldn't help but think was cute. Which bugged him, a lot. It was the reason she was hogging up the attention after all! Suddenly, she moved her arm forward, causing Etoru to flash a disgruntled, yet anxious look. Before he knew it, she gripped his shirt, causing him to nearly yelp in surprise. She threw her tiny, plush face forward, nuzzling it into his gi. Etoru's cheeks had a hint of pink, and he looked down at his baby sister reluctantly. "E-Eh....n-no....bad...bad baby...." He whispered at her, gritting his teeth.
And then, yet again, he nearly shrieked as he heard another voice in the room. Etoru spun around, only to be faced with two long pairs of legs. Craning his neck up, he noticed the familiar, sweet face of his mother. "M-Mommy...what are you doing here--o-oh uh, great....great, yeah...t-taking care of my...little sister..." He smiled faintly as she played with his hair. It was nice, getting to see her when she has free time. And she'd have even more free time once Ember was out of the picture...!
Maeve opened the door to the living room, offering the boy some bonding time by watching TV. It sounded awesome...besides the fact that this little 'nightmare' had to come with. It wasn't like he could say no, it'd be too suspicious! So he just went along with it. "Sure...um, sounds like fun!" As Maeve walked to the couch, he shot Ember a glare while approaching Maeve. Looking back at his mother, he smiled innocently, climbing on the couch beside her. Etoru looked around, scanning the room for the remote. "Now where did I...oh right." The boy stuck his arm between the couch, digging for where he last placed the remote. He smirked, feeling it, and then reeling his arm back out.
He aimed the remote at the TV, turning it on. It was at a moderate volume...at first. He began surfing through the channels, trying to find his favorite shonen anime. Finally, he stopped on the channel he was searching for. Two large mecha robots duking it out, both with passengers controlling the gigantic high tech machinery. Etoru raised the volume to the max, despite the baby who was currently sleeping in his arms. Etoru wasn't doing this intentionally either. It was just how he always watched TV. He sat excitedly, his legs kicking around a bit as he watched his show.

Maeve's headfins shot up in alarm as she saw the volume creep up higher and higher till it reached worrying levels. With a quick swipe of her hand she'd snatch the remote and hit the mute button before the already squirming baby in Etoru's arms woke up. "Be careful Etoru, you're holding a sleeping baby remember?" She asked gently, not wanting to scold the boy over an honest mistake. With smile she'd bring the volume back up to a modest range. "...I know things are different lately Etoru, and I know this isn't what you were expecting when I adopted you but..." She bit her lip, looking aside to the baby cradled in the boy's arms. After a moment of just watching the boy he paused, and slowly her concerned frown turned into a soft smile.
"...We are a family. All of us." She said in a reassuring manner as she placed a hand on the boy's shoulder giving it a soft squeeze. "You are a big brother Etoru, you need to make sure that Ember grows to be as strong and as kind as you. It's a lot of responsibility but..." She nodded her head once to him as if preparing her next statement. "I know, deep down, that you can do it! I have faith in you." With that she'd move her hand away, giving his hair another ruffle before looking back to the TV screen.
"So what show is this? This isn't that Captain Nova cartoon is it?" Maeve asked, a hint of something between disdain and exhaustion as she thought of the costumed crusader and his cartoon. All it looked like to her was noise and blaring lights. She frankly couldn't stand it. Thankfully, as the show they were watching powered on the costumed goof didn't show.

Etoru squealed in a giddy tone as he watched his show. But, his fun ended short when a clawed hand swiped at him, snatching the remote from his grasp. Etoru gave a disappointed frown at his mother. Though, learning why she did it, he blinked and looked at his arms. "Oh..." He grit his teeth. Once again, Ember ruining his fun! Even while she was asleep she did this purposely. Or so he thought anyways. Thankfully, Maeve didn't seem to mad about it. Etoru, however, was still a little salty. She raised the volume back up, though he didn't care. He gave a stubborn pout and looked at the floor, slightly away from her.
She spoke about his expectations when she brought him in. Etoru's pout softened as she continued talking. He grit his teeth, a determined expression forming on his face. He inhaled sharply as she gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze and perked his head up. She was right! Maybe he was being a big baby about all of this...and when she told him how she had faith in him, his eyes lit up. "I WONT LET YOU--" He covered his mouth quickly, not wanting to wake the baby. "I wont let you down..." He whispered eagerly.
He stared back at the TV with a smile, kicking his feet back and forth. "Hm? What--Captain, pfft..." Etoru almost broke out into laughter at his mothers lack of knowledge. Etoru calmed himself down, and began to explain, almost arrogantly. "This doesn't even look like Captain Nova. This is Mech-Fighter X! It's about this guy and he like, pilots this giant robot to stop other giant robots from destroying the Earth!" On the screen, it showed a sparkling giant silver mech, squatting down somewhat as a giant, matte black, robot fist flew over his head. The dazzling silver mech sprung back up, sending a devastating uppercut towards the dark, evil looking bot. The enemy soared back, crashing into a few buildings before skidding against the ground. "Eeeeeee!!! So coooool!!!!" He writhed in his seat, his eyes sparkling in amazement. He looked up at Maeve, tugging her arm repeatedly. "Right?? That was awesome! Right? Right??"

"Yes yes it was very cool" Maeve spoke the nearly rehearsed line as her adopted son nearly bounced in his seat over the antics on the animated cartoon. The demoness' soft lips creeped upward in a smile to watch as her boy happily indulged in one of his favorite past times. It lit a fire in her heart, one that warmed her to the very core. Her scaled tail flicked a bit as she looked to her children and just enjoyed the peaceful air of the room around them. It felt, for a moment, that there was nothing to worry about. She longed for these moments of peace, but at the back of her mind she knew that they were fleeting.
Her golden gaze trailed from the two children to her 'side' of the room. Her eyes took a moment to trace over her old armor, the swords on the walls, all the relics of battles passed. She sighed, knowing full well that 'violence' and 'conflict' were a major part of her life despite her wishes. With that troubling realization she turned her attention back to the TV just as a rather androgynous looking man with long billowing hair and glistening eyes cried out his brooding feelings for the audience before summoning a gargantuan lance out of his mech's chest.
She flagged her headfins up curiously as she watched the over the top display of sound and color before looking back to Etoru. "...What does he mean when he says his 'pain fills his broken spirit like a fuel gauge?' Isn't that just a little bit silly?" She questioned watching the antihero impale one of the mechs with his turbo lance. "Wait why is he fighting alongside the hero? Isn't he a bad guy?" She questioned, wondering why she bothered trying to follow the plotline at all.
It was all melodramatic nonsense and shouting.

Etoru hugged Ember closer to him instinctively as the action began to get more intense. He was silently rooting for the protagonist, his support shown through his constant fidgeting and a gaze filled with anticipation. He watched as a former villain began chanting words of inspiration and courage, simply pumping Etoru up even more! But he kept his cool. With Ember sleeping, he was going to prove his responsibility by being able to control his emotions while taking care of his baby sister, no matter how cool the show got!
Etoru's eyelids closed half way when Maeve began asking silly, pointless questions when the answer was just so obvious! He'd cast her a look that just said, 'really', followed by a sigh. "Mommy, it isn't rocket science..." Closing his eyes arrogantly, he put one finger up and began to explain. "When he says that, he's talking about uh..." Etoru paused for a moment, realizing that even he couldn't get the answer right. A small blush formed on his cheeks, but he wasn't going to be made a fool of, no! "He's saying...no matter how much pain they give him...uhm, it'll only make him stronger...!" Clearing his throat awkwardly, he turned his head back to the TV. "And, yeah, he was the villain, but he has to work with Yukine to beat the even STRONGER villain!"
As if on cue, the main protagonist, so called 'Yukine' slid by the former villain Maeve was on about. They were both clearly outmatched by this big bad, but they had one trick up there sleeve! Shouting out courageous, over dramatic speeches, their mech-suits began to transform. The villain looked shocked, seeing as the two suits began to merge. But, for the sake of the plot, he only stood there awestruck instead of trying to prevent it. The result? A mech suit just as big and powerful as their opponent! However, the screen paused and out came an orange tint with extra shade around the characters with the words 'TO BE CONTINUED' at the bottom left. Etoru's excited face formed into a disappointed yet confused pout, which was surprising considering this happens to him every episode and you'd think he'd get used to it by now. "H-Huh...Awwww....really...?"

"Patience is a virtue E-To-Ru." She teased, spacing his name out as she often did as a playful nickname of sorts. "All good boys, as well as all good warriors, must seek to attain said virtue." Maeve said with a gentle smile as she tussled Etoru's hair. "I'm sure you can wait a week." She giggled pulling her hand away as she instead took the remote and flipped through the channels a bit.
"Lets see if we can find something else to watch..." She mused, glancing to Etoru and the baby Ember with a soft smile as she took the reigns of this little family get together.
There were a few cartoons, a few news stations, a cooking channel here or there, and some sports. It all seemed terribly dull to her but she paused however as she ended up on the "Illumination" Network. A tasteful, more old fashioned logo appeared on the screen with the words "The Guru of the Forge." The 'guru' himself was a short and stout man with a bushy white mustache and a pair of circular sunglasses. He seemed to have a sage like demeanor with a glint of inspiration in his eye as he brought out the material they'd be using to forge a mighty weapon. It was some sort of shell that was glistening in the light making it look glossy and prismatic. It all seemed very interesting, and Maeve looked on with her headfins perked. She often found herself getting really invested when it came to exotic weaponry (even though Fateburn alone would send a blacksmith reeling at otherworldly craftsmanship.)
She stopped, however, as she noticed that in the shuffling and blare of the TV little Ember started squirming with a few tears welling up in here eyes. "Oh! Looks like someone is waking up!" Maeve gasped, her headfins waggling as she hurriedly rushed to scoop the baby from her brother's arms. "You know how fussy she can get, let me take her." She assured the boy, lightly cradling the girl. She looked down at the beautiful baby and smiled. "She's getting pretty big, I bet she'll be your size before you know it!" She giggled, swaying back and forth trying to appease the little hybrid.
