Species Name: Amoebikon [Amoeba + Unikont]] aka Gels
Home Planet: Eyotuka
Starting Planet: Any
Starting Power: 100-400
Appearance: Amoebikon are nearly unique in the galaxy in that they are sentient life forms that lack the rigid structure to their forms that most races possess, and in fact more closely mimic liquids than they do solids. These liquid bodies are shaped in accordance with the Amoebikon's will, though most will choose humanoid forms mimicking that of races they interact with. Generally, Amoebikon range between three and seven feet tall, when using human proportions, and most can only shift their material so that they maintain the same apparent size. Coming in a variety of colors, the most common variety of Amoebikon look similar to water, coming in shades of blue. The least common variety of Amoebikons are transparent and can be seen through from one end to another, when in their natural forms. Other varieties include most colors in the galaxy, ranging more greatly than any other race though no metallic varieties exist naturally. Some Amoebikons even possess the ability to appear as other races, hiding their gelatinous forms.
Amoebikon do not possess 'gender' like many species, and instead, when an Amoebikon dies, some amount of them splits off into a new child-like Amoebikon, who grows by integrating new mass into themselves. Particularly powerful Amoebikon will split off into multiple Amoebikon, and some even possess the ability to split while alive, maintaining their personality in multiple forms. An Amoebikon's gender is entirely influenced by their own choices in how to appear.

Background: Amoebikon were, for a long time, a peace loving race incapable of creating technological advances. For tens of thousands of years, Amoebikon society existed under the oceans of the water planet Eyotuka, in the same manner throughout their entire existence. Theirs was a simple society, implemented into caste systems based on an Amoebikon's color, wherein the blessed rulers carried out ruling small nations of their people, encouraging works of song, dance, and transformation. No thought was given to advancing society, to war, to conquest, to ambition - Amoebikon were anathema to the idea of ambition for a long time, and the race was comfortable in its roles.
That is, until the first contact with another sapient species. What race first encountered them is lost to time, but what happened in the aftermath is remembered even now: Enslavement, kidnappings, displacement, and use as little more than labor and bodies to prevent deaths. It was here that the Amoebikon first realized their ability to combine with other beings, in order to blend their ki - and it was here when Amoebikon first experienced battles, as scores of them were forced into becoming armor for the empire's troops. For hundreds of years, this went on far in the west Galaxy, most Amoebikon no longer having any knowledge of their home or their culture. It's said that at its peak, this empire spread into multiple galaxies, its people all over, in everyday life.
And then, suddenly, it vanished, defeated from the inside, collapsing upon itself, as enslaved planets rose up in defiance, and fought for their freedom at once. This empire was destroyed - tales say that the first blows struck by the tools of the Oppressors themselves, Amoebikon of golden light and glorious countenance, who lead the first blows and crippled the empire. The truth of this is long since forgotten, and even in places where this forgotten empire existed, few remember it. Only the Amoebikon, with their oral histories, still remember these great warriors, the Golden Gels, who saved their race and lead it into battle with their slavers.
These days Amoebikon are spread throughout all four galaxies, taking up roles as healers, navigators, artists, performers... just about anything. Many still live on Eyotuka, returning after their freedom, where their caste based society continues, but the freedom of the galaxy, and the ability to make more of themselves, to explore... many Amoebikon were suddenly possessed by the need to travel, and explore, by an ambition the race did not formerly have. Most Amoebikon met in the galaxy are offshoots, of ambitious personality... comparatively to the rest of their race, at least.
They have little understanding of other races, especially in regards to relationships, as their entirely asexual race has no concept of anything deeper than close friends.

Name Pun Theme(s): Names based on cells/slimes. (E.G. Bichea = Diachea, a form of slime mold). Names based on 'goo'.
Unique Characteristics:
Poor Ambition:
Almost as a rule, even the most ambitious of Gels simply do not have the drive that other races do. Perhaps it is due to their long lived nature, or their ancient society. Perhaps it simply has to do with how most are raised. Regardless, even the most ambitious of Gels with the most focus tend to be outclassed by others of their type. For this reason, most Amoebikon transformations are slightly weaker than those of similar races. For this reason, all Gels reduce PL gains for solos by 20%.
Symbiote:
Amoebikon only became adept at ki control after long use as portable batteries for other races. They excel at combinations with other species, but for this reason, most Amoebikon transformations are slightly weaker than those of similar races, as they lack the precise power for themselves.
Elasticity:
Much like Namekians, Amoebikons are capable of stretching their limbs in odd and impossible ways. This allows them to create long ranged melee techniques, and use techniques made for Namekian physiology.
Gel Armor:
All Amoebikons are capable of altering their shape in order to wrap around another willing being. Should they attempt to do so, an Amoebikon links the spiritual energy of itself with an accepting sapient. In doing so, the Amoebikon creates a symbiotic relationship with the 'host' creature, connecting its ki to that of the host creature, providing the creature with half of its PL - added after transformations. While providing Gel Armor, the Amoebikon cannot make any attacks but may use defensive and support abilities at half their normal PL. An Amoebikon may transform while attached to another creature. If the creature an Amoebikon is attached to dies, the Amoebikon dies as well, but the armor cannot be targetted while attached.
This ability comes with a cost to the host however. Any thread in which a host makes use of Gel Armor loses 10% of gained PL, while the Amoebikon gains 10% additional PL as the Amoebikon feeds off its host's strength.
Various varieties of Amoebikon exist, due to their removal from their home world so many eons ago. They have evolved many different traits, that make them very different from one another. Three distinct subspecies exist.
Chamelos:
Some Amoebikons are capable of hiding their true nature and can shapeshift to the point of altering their apparent makeup. These Amoebikon escaped their original master's grasps via trickery and deceit. This allows them to mimic other sapient races, as well as to pretend to be objects like rocks, or even chairs. These Amoebikons are also hardier and naturally add +1x Defensive PL to all transformations, as well as to their host's transformations when using gel armor.
Most Chamelos Amoebikons are shy in personality.
OR
Paras:
Not all Amoebikon are symbiotic with their relationships. Paras Amoebikon are a form of Amoebikon with an unceasing hunger, and the ability to forcefully drain the ki of their enemies... and friends. These Amoebikon escaped their masters by murder. A Paras Amoebikon can absorb 20% of a defeated opponent's PL, up to a maximum of 30,000, when fighting on their own. Paras who are attached to a host who dies while they are attached may detach themselves before the death, absorbing 10% of the host's PL in the process. In addition, a Paras Amoebikon in gel armor instead adds 75% of their PL to offense only, giving no increase to defensive PL, and often take the form of weapons rather than armor. They may still use defensive techniques at 50% their normal PL.
Paras Amoebikon are the most violent of Amoebikons.
OR
Buddi:
These Amoebikons are unique in that they are capable of freely budding into multiple Amoebikons, all possessing the original's personality, goals, and thought processes. These Amoebikons escaped their masters through advanced tactics and teamwork. Through this process, a Buddi may split half of their PL into a second body, allowing it to act as two separate combatants each with half the strength of usual. These split bodies can further bud so that each body has 25% of the Amoebikon's PL. These buds may use transformations the main body qualifies for, that they would not. A Buddi Amoebikon is only considered 'dead' if all of its bodies disappear, and may regenerate to full via a sensu bean, so long as one is left alive.
An Amoebikon Buddi using Gel Armor multiple times stacks the bonus to PL gains by +5% per additional body, to a maximum of 25%, if attached to four separate characters. These characters still take a 10% penalty to their own PL gains.
Buddi Amoebikon are the most outgoing of Amoebikons, as well as the most common.
Transformations:
Amoebikin who master their Ki may escape the long since held caste systems of their kind, throwing away their natural colors, and becoming the rare instances of metallic colors.
Unleashed (x2) [Starting transformation] - This state causes an Amoebikon's form to pulse, as Ki causes their liquid-like surface to bubble, almost as if they were boiling hot. They are, in fact, hot to the touch while in this form, but not to the point of boiling water.
Corroding Copper (x4) [70,000] - At this level, an Amoebikon's color changes, its entire body turning various hues of copper, and its aura becoming a copper color. It may keep its humanoid shape during this transformation. These warriors of Amoebikon culture were considered the premier guards of royal colors.
Silver Slime (x13) [150,000] - This level of Ki control was virtually unheard of in Amoebikon culture, before First Contact - stories were told of silver gels, who fought back monsters of legend and saved their society in times of great need, but none had ever seen one. These days, a few do exist within the Galaxy. A Silver Slime's coloration turns completely silver as if made of the molten metal, its ki following suit. To reach this color, a Gel must understand what it desires most in the universe.
Glorious Golden Gel (x23) [250,000] - A level of power that even in these days is only spoken of in rumor and legend amongst the Amoebikin. These warriors were said to be the ones who broke the original captivity of their race, and who lead the rebellion that created freedom amongst their people, before mysteriously disappearing during the end of the war. Many Amoebikin dream of reaching this ideal form, but none in recent memory have ever succeeded in it. The body of these Amoebikin mimics the beauty of gold, sometimes tingeing itself similar to rose gold depending on the individual Gel. It is said only an Amoebikon who has found someone it wishes to guard with its life can reach this color.
Platinum Poultice (x40) [400,000] - This form has never been seen, a true mastery of the race's power, originally said to have been the form that the creature who birthed the first Amoebikon took, before it split itself into hundreds of thousands of lesser Amoebikon, creating the race to end its loneliness. These tales are as old as time to the Gels, though the truth of them is obviously impossible to verify. These gels look similar to the Silver Slime, but when struck with light reflect it so strongly as to be unmistakable in its difference from the Silver Slime.
Prismatic (x47) [490,000] - The true pinnacle of Gel kind, these Amoebikon are a beautiful chaos of colors, shining in every hue and tone known to the universe- and in some colors not possible to be fully understood. They are dazzling to look at, beautiful and terrible at the same time, their ki pulsing into beautiful shapes, like works of art. None know how a Gel would achieve such magnificence, nor do any even believe it is something that they might be capable of. Only time could tell if one could be born.
