This world was a varied place, Kadbra knew that much by now. And it was a friendlier and less dangerous planet than the demon realm, for sure. But even on this varied planet, desolated areas without much visible life existed - and now, the demon with the black aura around himself was floating above the second desert he found on earth. However, it was a bit... different from the first one where he arrived from his transportation. Perhaps it was just the color of the sand, but he could swear that the weather here wasn't as dangerous and harsh - the heat wasn't as unbearable. The blue demon wasn't sure why he stopped his exploration of Earth here, of all places, but something told him that grabbing a drink and something to eat would be a smart idea. And so, the demon slowly floated lower - while not landing on the sands, he was close enough to the ground now to really appreciate the landscape. Even if it was another desert, it looked very different from the Fortuneteller's Desert.
As he had never learned how to properly sense Ki, or even how to hide his own, Kadbra simply decided blindly on a direction and started flying forward, fast enough to kick up a bit of sand beneath him, but not enough to really cause too much of a disturbance. The flight-wind helped a bit against the heat that was still present in this desert, and his jacket fluttered in it wildly, just like his hair. The horned man only stopped flying when he noticed something that looked like buildings in the distance, the black aura around him dissipating as his faster flight came to a floating halt, and he moved closer slowly. Definitely looked like a human settlement... Although he had no idea what one did so far out in the desert. Well, for all he knew, there was something of worth in this corner of the planet. Thankfully, none of the humans bothered looking up at the moment where he landed on a rooftop and looked down at their doing. The daily routine of normal humans was still a curious thing to see for the demon, so he kept watch from up there for a few moments, before noticing a commotion near one building. According to the sign, it was a bar - a bunch of drunken people shoving another drunken guy outside, pushing him around, and probably getting ready to beat him. Well, that wasn't very nice now, was it? Kadbra watched the scene with a frown. Should he step in? This wasn't really his planet, let alone his fight... Yet the image of a single guy getting pushed around by a group of people definitely stronger woke some unpleasant memories of his own childhood.

((Heavy weights are on. :3))
Nai-Ran was finally out and about again in the Diablo Desert now that she wasn’t so sore anymore. She had been getting rather anxious just sitting around all day waiting for herself to heal up, and an idea of how to rid herself of said anxiousness had just recently popped into her head. While meeting with Ukare and Pieter on Mt. Paozu, the Ryashi had spotted something in the distance that had stood out from the desert’s golden sands. She hadn’t really been able to tell what it was from how far away it had been at the time. It had certainly been far enough away from Nai-Ran’s old cave and Emer’s house to have ever stumbled upon it on her own. The young woman had been exhausted at the time so she had completely forgotten about it until just that morning. Now would have been as good a time as any to go check it out since it was still way closer than Satan City.
While the young woman hadn’t fully recovered from her fight with Oni, she was mostly back to full speed. Even clad in her heavily weighted bolero and bracers, the worst she got from moving around were minor aches and pains from time to time. The only time she felt any major discomfort was when she started straining herself. A simple stroll through the desert would be just fine as long as she didn’t try to raise herself up too high on her tail or get into any fights. Even then, she carried a Senzu Bean with her just in case of an emergency thanks to Ninjin’s assistance.
The serpentine lass crossed the burning sands of the Diablo Desert towards where she remembered the unknown point of interest to be. She wasn’t sure exactly what she was expecting since it had been too far away to really see it clearly. It could have just been a random rock formation for all she cared. It was really just an excuse to get out and do a bit of moving around. Whatever it was, Nai-Ran at least wanted to take a look. She loved the desert, but even she had to admit that looking at nothing but sand dunes could get a little dull after a while.
Nai-Ran definitely hadn’t expected a small human settlement upon her arrival to what was once just known as a tiny blur in the distance. Yet, there it stood. To her knowledge, humans couldn’t stand the arid desert climate like her species could. She was more than curious as to why there would be a community of them all the way out there. Well, she was already there. Nai-Ran decided that she might as well take a look at what the small town had to offer. Hopefully they wouldn’t be too bothered by her odd appearance, though at that point she realized the odds of that happening were less likely than Appodorra freezing over. Well, unless there was some sort of local threat to save the citizens from, of course.
Whatever the town was called, it was nowhere near the size of Satan City. Even the tallest of its buildings appeared to have no more than two floors. There weren’t any crowds bustling from place to place either. In fact, Nai-Ran didn’t really see anyone out at all. Was this settlement abandoned, or was everyone just cooped up inside? The young woman was about to turn around and head back to Emer’s place until she happened across an odd scene taking place just outside of one of the buildings.
The small town definitely wasn’t abandoned. She had come across a group of humans standing around in the road. They were wobbling heavily and what little words she heard from them were awfully slurred. It reminded her of the effects that the serachi flowers that grew on her home world had on someone after they had been fermented. The petals addled the mind when chewed on. They were fairly popular among tourists. Personally, the young woman had never understood the appeal. That may have been because it was just something that wasn’t done in her social circle though.
One of them looked like he was getting pushed around by the others in the group. The Ryashi wasn’t really sure what was going on between them. Something in the back of her mind was telling her not to interfere as it was none of her business. It would likely going to lead to trouble. However, she just couldn’t stand the sight of someone being bullied, especially when the one doing the bullying had a clear power or numbers advantage.
With a sigh and a silent wish that she wouldn’t come to regret her decision to interfere, Nai-Ran approached them and cleared her throat. The young woman carried herself in her usual ladylike manner with her back and shoulders straight with her chin held up high, reflecting her upbringing. Her hands were folded neatly in front of her as always. ”I’m not sure what you have against that man, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to cease your actions,” she spoke in a firm, yet nonthreatening tone as she slithered up to the intoxicated group. ”None of you appear to be thinking rationally at the moment, so I would recommend coming back to whatever it is you’re quarreling over another day and settling it in a more civilized fashion.”
As she waited for a response, something caught the top of Nai-Ran’s peripheral vision. There was a figure standing atop one of the low buildings that lined the road. It was a blue man with dark horns and an equally dark tail. It was obvious that he was out of place in this quaint-looking human community, but then again, so was she. He appeared to be watching the scene that she had decided to take part in with some level of interest, but not so much as to get involved himself. Perhaps Nai-Ran would come to find that she had been better off if she had done the same.

"Oh?" Kabra murmured as a rather odd looking woman walked... no, slithered up to the scene in front of the bar. The demon leaned slightly forward and focused the yellow stare of his eyes onto her - he had never seen such a being before. The lower body of a snake, the upper body of a human - or at least humanoid - female... Kadbra's face went from a surprised expression to an intrigued grin. Would this be the second non-human already that he met on Earth? This place was even livelier than he had first thought! His tail excitedly swished back and forth behind him, whirling up sand that had settled down on the roof he was standing on. What kind of purpose was behind this town? Who was the strange lady with the snake-body? And was the alcohol of Earth as strong as the one that same demon brewed out of the violet, flesh-eating plants of the blasted plains? Perhaps he'd get a few answers to these questions in his mind, although the second of them was the most important to him.
As the snake-lady slithered up to the drunkards, Kadbra tried his hardest to listen in. Thankfully, the only real other sound was a bit of hot wind - desert animals usually didn't cause all that much noise, especially during the daytime. How odd... She helped the man getting pushed around? That was new, Kadbra had never seen someone help what appeared to be a stranger, at least from her words he assumed that she didn't know any of these men. If he remembered the words of his master correctly, then this... was a form of kindness, wasn't it? Kadbra himself was a demon born without evil, so he didn't see it as a weakness - but it was still odd to see it for the very first time. This was... what 'good' people did. The ultimate goal of the demon swordsmanship he had been taught was to eliminate the 'good' in Kadbra's own heart - his master told him as much when he began his training as a child. But in the end, the black slab of metal only served as a way to keep the blue demon pretty far away from evil.
And so, as the drunken people were still trying to fully register that a snake-lady had just told them off, Kadbra pushed himself off of the roof that had served as his lookout, and he landed right next to the woman that carried herself in such an odd manner. Perhaps he should ask her about that, too, in due time. The demon caught his own fall with the Ki within his body, and thus didn't kick up a huge cloud of dust as he otherwise might have done - still, to the humans, he pretty much appeared out of nowhere and was now standing right before them, almost 8 feet tall. But at least his smile was friendly, even if the entire rest of him screamed 'demon' to the high heavens. The blue-skinned fighter turned his eyes towards the snake-lady, and he nodded, still smiling his usual, friendly smile. If kindness was as simple as helping someone in a situation like this... Then he'd try his hand at it. Many years ago, he would've been too weak to really help anybody - and the demon realm didn't really have 'innocents' in danger to begin with. So this was a nice start.
"I think you should do as the lady says, boys. It's not very... nice, you know? Ganging up on one guy isn't fair." Odd words out of a demon, but it didn't seem like the bar patrons had all that much of an ear for it. First a snake-lady talked to them, now a huge guy with horns, tail and a huge sword - they pretty much instantly switched from picking on one guy to profusely apologizing, before quickly scampering off back into the bar - the guy who had been picked on instead said a meek 'thanks' before disappearing into a street of the small town and slipping into his home to sleep off whatever had been in his drinks. Kadbra couldn't help but grin a bit, mostly because of how strange this experience was. "How odd... I didn't think being a 'good guy' was this easy. Quite an odd... but interesting... feeling." Kadbra chuckled a bit, before suddenly slapping himself on the forehead. "Ah damn! Forgot to ask them what this town was built here for! ... Oh well, can't go everything right on the first try..." With a sigh, the demon turned his full attention to the snake-person.
Kadbra was still smiling, but scratched the back of his head with his left for a moment, before his mood seemed to swing up a bit more, and then he extended his right hand forward towards the snake-lady. "That's the respectful custom for meeting someone on this planet, right? A 'handshake'? Sorry if that's wrong, I'm not really used to Earth yet. Or this dimension, for that matter. Ah, but anyway... Thanks! I wasn't too sure on what to do, you see I... how do I say this..." Kadbra went silent for a second as he thought on how to express his thoughts - this wasn't easy for him at all. "Well, I've never seen 'kindness' before. So I had no idea what to do. Well, that's the best explanation for it I can give, at least. So thanks! I'm Kadbra of the demonic realm, by the way."

The serpentine lass was curious about the blue fellow on the roof, but turned her attention back down to the group she had been addressing. If she wanted to take care of the situation properly, it would be best to focus on that for now. However, that didn’t really seem to matter as the man hopped off of the roof and moved to stand beside her instead. He gave Nai-Ran a smile before reaffirming what she had just told the group. His interference seemed to do the trick. Apparently having not one, but two rather odd looking beings insisting that a fight be broken up was enough to send the instigators crawling back to whence they came. The two of them received a quiet ‘thank you’ from the man who had being pushed around before he wobbled off in a different direction.
Nai-Ran let out a relieved sigh. That definitely could have gone a lot worse than it had. She then turned to the blue fellow that had assisted her in keeping the peace. The way he spoke of what had transpired was a tad awkward. Were simple good deeds really that unfamiliar to him? The young woman wasn’t really sure what to make of him just yet. Though, his comment about forgetting to ask them about the town before they were driven off was a bit amusing. She couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle in response. He was certainly an odd one.
Following his lead, the young woman placed her hand in his and gave it a firm shake before returning it to its original place, folded neatly in front of her with her other hand. Nai-Ran was continuing to carry herself as one would expect of a young woman that was born and raised in high society. ”I believe there are several acceptable ways to greet someone on this world. Handshakes are most certainly one of them,” she commented at his uncertainty, still amused by his odd behavior. Normally she would have risen up to meet him at eye level when she spoke to him, as she had often done with Emer. However, it was probably best that she didn’t try to strain her still weakened tail by raising herself any higher than necessary. She still had to slither home at some point today.
Admittedly, Nai-Ran was a little hesitant at first to return the introduction once she learned where he was from. Her last encounter with a demon had ended in disaster. Though, Kadbra seemed absolutely nothing like Oni. While the first demon she had met had attempted to mug had and then left her for dead in the middle of the bamboo forest, this one was being polite and had assisted her in defending someone who was getting picked on. It wasn’t that hard to fathom. Nai-Ran was a firm believer that just because two beings were of the same race didn’t mean they saw everything in the same light. This was no exception. Her problem was with Oni, not demon kind in general.
”You handled yourself quite admirably, especially for someone who’s not used to the concept of ‘kindness’. I would say that you’re a natural at it,” the serpentine lass said with a warm smile, banishing any thoughts of her fight with Oni from her mind. Such prejudice was unbefitting for someone in training to become a proper leader. The man was new to the idea of helping people like that. His heart was obviously in the right place though. As far as the Ryashi was concerned, that counted for quite a bit. ” I am Nai-Ran of the Rassuto, hailing from the planet Appodorra. Please, call me Nai-Ran. It’s a pleasure to meet you Kadbra, though I believe I should be the one thanking you. It’s difficult to say whether that fight would have been broken up so easily by my presence alone.”
”So, what brings you all the way here from the demon realm?” she asked curiously, trying to strike up some polite conversation. The town had once again regained its quiet, somewhat sleep atmosphere now that all of the commotion had died down.

Kadbra's face almost radiated in happiness at the words of this snake-lady. So he was a natural at being 'kind'? Those were great news, it meant his master had completely failed in his agenda! Well, at least for as far as Kadbra knew, he failed, and that was good enough for now. The tall, strong demon looked like a kid almost, with his eyes radiating his wonder and amazement at her words. "Nai-Ran of the Rassuto. Very well, I shall remember your name, always." After shaking her hand, Kadbra held his right fist in front of his chest and did a small bow of respect, as he had been taught by his master to show towards those he saw as superior or equals. The fact that he constantly had to look down a bit didn't bother him - he was growing used to doing that in the human world, since most people here seemed to be smaller than him. Not that it bothered him, or made him feel superior - he had never felt himself above someone else in his life, and he wasn't starting now, after only having arrived in this strange place.
"And... thank you. It is great to hear that my own world was not able to... break me." With a sigh, the bright smile on Kadbra's face got a bit weary. Still, Nai-Ran had told him what she was, and it was only natural for people to wish to know how a demon came into their world... Or their dimension, in this case, as he didn't think she was a native of the planet, judging by her words. "I'm glad I was of help to you. As for my reason... well, how do I explain this..." Kadbra's gaze went up to the bright, blue sky of the desert, which looked so... beautiful compared to his home, and sighed again. The long fields of burned lands, the strange plants that ate only flesh of those stupid enough to wander near... The endless caves filled with red-hot lava and springs of blood instead of water, the gangs and tribes of demons battling for superiority and survival. "The demon realm, it is... A terrible place. A place I never fit into, at all. You see, some demons are born as other living beings are... but I wasn't. Some demons, like me, are born from wild energy. The demon world is a rough place, where things that you would consider 'evil' are the norm, and required for survival. But I was born without that drive." Kadbra looked back down, and his face had lost the smile - he looked a bit sad, even. "I wanted to survive, of course. But that world wasn't very kind, and I was in luck - I beat the challenge of some old demon master, who took me in. I learned how to fight, how to survive... And how to escape, to the human world spoken of in legends in the parts I'm from. So I'm not really all that strong or such, but I managed to get through the portal... And now, I'm here. And I never, ever want to go back, if I'm honest. This world..." Kadbra raised up his hands and just smiled again. "Is just beautiful."

The young woman couldn’t help but smile as she watched Kadbra’s face light up at her comment. He definitely had an interest in learning more about and reciprocating kindness. It was an admirable goal for one who wasn’t used to the concept. However, Nai-Ran didn’t expect her words to make him quite that happy. He looked almost child-like in a way with that expression on his face, which was an odd way to describe a blue-skinned demon who was even taller than Emer was.
The next words out of his mouth threw her off a bit. He had been the first one to actually address her by her clan name. It felt strange to say the least. Nai-Ran wasn’t upset or anything, but it would have been preferable not to be addressed in such a needlessly formal manner. It wasn’t even something that Ryashi of high society practiced. That’s when you knew a custom was too upper-class for its own good. ”No no, please just call me Nai-Ran, if you would. We Ryashi only refer to ourselves by clan names when giving introductions. First names sound far more natural.”
The serpentine lass grew quiet as Kadbra recanted his tale. It wasn’t a happy story for him to tell at all judging by the look on his face. So that was where beings like Oni hailed from... It sounded like a truly awful place to have morally depraved acts be the norm. The demon that was speaking to her seemed to have a gentle soul. How someone like that could come into existence or even survive as long as he did in a place like that was baffling. She was glad he was in a far better place for someone like him though.
”Indeed, Earth is planet of beauty,” the young woman agreed with him as she pondered a bit. He was obviously even newer to this planet that she was. Perhaps she could give him a few pointers to make his stay a little easier? Nai-Ran didn’t know exactly how much she could help since she hadn’t really been there all that long herself. It would be worth a try. ”Something you may want to keep in mind while you’re here, while it sounds like nothing you could find here would be nearly as bad as what you experience in the demon realm, Earth isn’t without its share of evil.” She wasn’t quite sure if he had been aware of it just yet since she wasn’t sure EXACTLY how long he had spent on Earth so far.
”In fact, there are many humans who might even view you as such due to your appearance. This isn’t the case with all of them, of course, but during my stay here, I’ve found that most humans seem to have a fear of the unknown. In this case, that happens to be beings like you and I that look absolutely nothing like them. However, if you keep practicing those acts of kindness on them, eventually at least some of them will come around,” the young woman explained. So far Nai-Ran had had at least a little success in that department. She wasn’t sure how sensitive Kadbra was to being stared at or looked at like he was a freak. Sure he said he was the odd one out in the demon realm, but that didn’t necessarily determine how he felt about it. ”As far as strength goes, I might actually be able to assist you with that if you’re interested. I’m afraid I’m not in much of a condition for training or sparring just yet, but I should be back to my old self sometime in the next couple of weeks.”

Kadbra nicked, his smile becoming a bit more thoughtful. It was true, many humans saw him and either ran or hid - he was the spitting image of 'evil', after all. A true demon, without any way to hide his true appearance, like some of his people. He wasn't used to talking to people, so he had no idea of how to react to it when someone was simply afraid of him - it really put a damper on any sort of interaction with normal humans. "Yes... I've noticed that quite a few humans seem afraid of me. Well, I can't exactly blame them for it, even if it stings a little. Evil exists in all worlds, I'm sure of that - I doubt that even the next world and the Kai are completely free of it. Good and evil are forces that are too powerful to ever be completely purged." The blue demon said, confident in his words - there was good and evil in everyone and everything, just that some had more of an inclination towards either side. Like him and Nai-Ran towards the side of good, and most demons towards evil, there were probably even evil ones amongst the gods of the universe - let alone amongst those that lived within hell.
"I'm honored by your offer, Nai-Ran. I don't exactly have a... gift for fighting, as you might call it - I'm barely passable, according to my old master." Kadbra said with a slightly embarrassed smirk and chuckle. "Obviously, your own recovery has higher priority than any sort of training, be it for me or someone else. Were you hurt recently while training yourself? Or... did you find some of the evil of this world?" The blue demon asked, honestly interested in hearing her story regarding her condition. "I'm no good at sensing danger, as you might say... So knowing about some of the forms that it takes on this planet would be a very helpful. Mostly so that I can avoid it until I am able to truly face it."

”With enough time and devotion, I believe that anyone could become a competent fighter. Perhaps the teaching style of your old master just wasn’t something that worked for you. Everyone seems to be at least a little bit different when it comes to how they learn things,” Nai-Ran insisted with a slow nod. While she had never had any issues when it came to learning how to fight, there had been instructors that her father had hired for other subjects that hadn’t quite worked out for her. Surely Kadbra would get the hang of it either with a more compatible teaching style, be it self-taught or coming from someone else.
The conversation then shifted to how Nai-Ran had become injured in the first place. The young woman glanced down at her tail for a few seconds as she thought about how to approach the subject. She hadn’t actually spoken of the details of the fight that had led her to needing to have her tail completely reconstructed. This was mostly because she didn’t want any of her friends going out and doing anything reckless. The Ryashi wouldn’t have been able to forgive herself if her negligence played a part in another winding up as badly wounded as she had been, or possibly worse. Perhaps it would be alright to let Kadbra in on it though since he hadn’t been there when it happened. At least she could give him a word of warning and urge him to stay away from that man.
”I’m afraid that this was no training injury,” Nai-Ran sighed as she began to recount her story. ”I was recently attacked during my last trip to a human city. The man claimed to have been after the purchases I had made that day, but there was something about him... Something that told me he wanted a fight no matter if I had given into his demands or not. A fight was exactly what he received, and while I had managed to damage him, I came out of it in far worse condition than he did. Had I not been fortunate enough for a friend of mine to be in the area, I would either be dead or at least completely unable to slither on my own anymore.”
It had been a day that Nai-Ran would have preferred to forget if given the option, but she knew it was necessary to keep in her thoughts. If someone could just erase unpleasant memories like that, how were they supposed to learn from their past mistakes? ”The one who attacked me was a demon, though he was masquerading as a human up until he transformed in battle. He went by the name Oguma Inugami, or ‘Oni’. You said you don’t have much confidence in your combat abilities, correct? In that case, please avoid him at all costs. He’s not one to be trifled with. One day I hope to fight him again and defeat him in combat, but I’m going to need some more training before that day arrives.”
The serpentine lass paused as an idea popped into her head. There was a good chance that fight would have had a much different outcome had she known about the magical properties of Senzu Beans beforehand. Kadbra seemed like an individual that genuinely wanted to do some good in this world. Perhaps if she gave him the same advantage that might have saved her from such grave wounds, it would help him in his future endeavors.
”Kadbra, could you please hold out your hand?” Nai-Ran asked as she reached into a small pouch that was fastened to the inside of her weighted bolero. She withdrew a single Senzu Bean from within it and held it up in front of her face. ”I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen one of these before since you said you haven’t been on Earth for very long. However, what I’m holding is called a Senzu Bean. It may not look like very much, but it has magical properties to it,” the Ryashi explained. ”During my encounter with Oni, my tail ended up being almost completely destroyed. However, with just one of these special beans, all of my wounds were mended and my tail was able to regenerate.”
Had Kadbra done as Nai-Ran had asked and held out his hand, she would have placed the small bean in his palm. ”While I like to believe that everyone has at least some amount of good somewhere deep within them, there doesn’t appear to be any shortage of beings out there with malicious intentions. Should you encounter such a being that’s too strong for you to overcome, this might prove to be rather useful. Just be sure to save it for an emergency.”

Nai-Ran was speaking the truth - the style of his old master really didn't fit Kadbra too much, seeing as he preferred not to actually use his sword as the main focus of his fighting style. Sure, having a huge, sharp lump of steel to swing around had it's positives, but it wasn't the be all, end all to him - he had telekinetic powers to work with, not to mention physical strength and the fact that he had a scaled, muscular tail. And there was his knack for magical tricks and possible use of actual magic with some training... The possibilities were endless. But the information about what happened to Nai-Ran was disturbing, to say the least.
The friendly, happy smile on Kadbra's face slowly faded away, from shock to worry and a hint of sadness. So one of the despotic demons came to this world from beyond the veil? Why couldn't they all stay in the Demon Realm and continue to make that place a complete mess, did they have to try and do the same to Earth, the beautiful blue planet? But this demon sounded scary... even more dangerous than the ones he met as a child, perhaps even stronger than his old master. If that was the case, then Kadbra would really not stand a sliver of a chance against him, that was for sure. He felt a certain dread in his stomach because of the simple knowledge that something so strong and evil was even around on this planet. So that only enhanced the respect he felt for Nai-Ran, who wished to face that monster again. Was that what it meant to have true courage? Once, Kadbra thought that he was courageous, but back then he was simply desperate and foolhardy. Never had his courage been tested for all of his life. If he ever faced such a monster, would it cause him to aspire for strength, or make him run for the hills? Was his drive to be a hero stronger than the cowardice in his heart?
"You're brave, Nai-Ran. I don't know if I could fight someone again that almost killed me - and I certainly hope to never find out if I can do something that courageous." Kadbra said, with a respectful nod towards the snake-lady. She asked him to extend his hand after that, and he did as he was asked, slightly surprised at the request - but he saw no reason not to do as he was told. The report of what exactly happened to her turned his expression into concerned shock once more, as she explained the magical powers of one such Senzu Bean. Quite amazing, these small objects... Even able to restore a destroyed part of the body. Still, the demon hoped he'd never need to use one - he was no fan of suffering pain. But if this world was dangerous, then sooner or later, he'd have to fight to survive, and in such a case, a way to restore himself would prove invaluable.
"Thank you, Nai-Ran. I'll make sure not to waste your gift, or your kindness." With a soft smile, Kadbra held the bean closer to his eyes, examining it closely before stashing it in a pocket on the inside of his jacket, making sure that the little thing was secured properly. Losing it would be disastrous, as he doubted that these things were easy to get normally. "To make sure of that, I'll train myself further. It appears that this world is closer to being 'toppled over' into something like the Demon Realm than you'd think by just looking at it... But looks can be deceiving. Demons hiding as humans, evil hidden within the hearts of normal people... I didn't think changing worlds would make life a complete cakewalk, but I didn't expect a challenge like this." He let out a small sigh, but the smile quickly returned, being more of a smirk now that showed some of his pointy teeth.
"If you wish to face an evil being such as Oni again one day... then I think that makes you a hero, right? I wonder if demons like me can be heroes as well..." A small swirl of sand blew across the town, whipping past the two. Now that the drunkards were in the bar, where they belonged, this place almost seemed like a ghost town again. "Guess I'll find out if I just try. Sooner or later, my own courage will be put to the test... and I'll either end up a hero or a corpse. Either way, I'll have tried." With a chuckle, Kadbra looked back at Nai-Ran. "I still think I'm far weaker than you, but if I can help you with your own training in some way, be sure to let me know. I mean, we're... how do you say it... 'friends' now, right?" Kadbra's face was hopeful now - had he finally managed to get a friend in this place?

”Actually, I was able to hold my own for quite some time. Our strength was fairly matched. However, he happened to have carried a Senzu Bean on his person and used it in the middle of our fight. While I was damaged and wearing from battle, his strength was renewed. It didn’t take that much more effort on his part to claim the victory. There’s no guarantee that it would have changed the outcome of our fight if I had known about the power of these magical beans beforehand, but it likely wouldn’t have ended quite as badly at the very least,” Nai-Ran explained to the tall, blue-skinned man in front of her. Perhaps it was just her optimism at work on that one. After all, it’s not like she had seen all that much of what he was capable of while he was transformed. For all she knew, she had barely even scratched the surface as far as his true power.
”While I don’t think that I’ll have to worry about him coming after me since he likely thinks I died from my wounds, I simply can’t allow him to continue on his current path should I see him again. I don’t remember much of what he said to me after our fight, but I do recall him stating his intentions to one day rule this world. If that ever nears fruition, I won’t have a choice. Somebody will have to put a stop to him. It may as well be me, assuming I’m strong enough by then. It’s not about bravery to me. It’s about doing what you feel is right even if nobody else is there to assist.” Perhaps that was an unfair assessment of the situation, at least as far as Oni went. She knew she had at least one or two people that would be willing to help her face him. The problem was that she didn’t really want any of them facing him. As much as she knew being a proper leader meant being able to accept assistance where it was needed, or even delegating tasks to those most capable of completing them, this was something she felt that she needed to take care of on her own.
Nai-Ran smiled as Kadbra graciously accepted her gift. He had a kind heart indeed, and it would be a shame for him to make the same mistakes that she did due to ignorance of what was available. He didn’t appear to be too skeptical of the tiny bean either. In truth, Nai-Ran might have questioned the powers of a single bean had she not experienced its effects first hand. To think that a tiny legume carried the power to completely turn the tides of any battle... Either way, the young woman hoped it would be useful to him if he were ever unfortunate enough to find himself in a bind.
Kadbra’s comment about heroism managed to draw a small laugh from the off-worlder. Perhaps that was one way of looking at it, but she was never one to view things in such black and white terms as ‘hero’ or ‘villain’. ”I’m not so certain about calling myself a ‘hero’. It’s actually more of a personal belief of mine. You see, I’ve always felt that it’s the job of those with power to protect those without. Oni is far from being the only threat out there. There are those with malicious intentions that will undoubtedly rise up both before and after him. As long as I have the ability to do so, I’ll task myself with ending such threats as quickly as I can,” she tried to clarify. Perhaps there was nothing necessarily wrong with looking at things with that kind of perspective, but it always seemed a bit simple for her tastes. Everyone out there had something that they wanted, no matter how little or great. The only question was if that want or the method they employed to attain that want could be considered harmful to others, and even that was simplifying it. ”Anyone can follow the same creed, be they Ryashi, demon, human or what have you. It’s just important to remember that your species doesn’t limit what you can or can’t strive for. If most demons truly are as wicked as you claim, then I would say you’ve already proven that with your desire to be a ‘hero’.”
There he went again, his face lighting up much like a child’s when faced with a sweet treat of some sort. It was still somewhat strange to see such an expression on the face of what at first glance appeared to be a rather imposing looking demon. That just proved that not everything was as its appearance suggested. It was actually kind of refreshing. ”I’d certainly like to think so. I wouldn’t be opposed to helping a friend gain more strength, though I will admit that I don’t have much experience teaching. At the very least there could always stand to be more ‘heroes’ in the world.”

Kadbra listened intently to her retelling of the encounter with the monster named 'Oni'. So she was quite the capable fighter, until a Senzu Bean turned the tides against her fully... Somehow, he really disliked such tactics, even if they were normal for other demons. When he fought, he did so to test himself, not to hurt people - perhaps if he was ever out to hurt someone, he'd also go too far? Would he throw away honor and fighting spirit to truly hurt, destroy someone at some point, as it was the nature of all demons, or would he be able to resist it fully? Probably not, everyone had a breaking point, when the victory was more important than honor. But it would never be his 'default' thing to do.
She then explained her own reasons for wishing to fight and stop Oni, and really, that only caused Kadbra to see her in an even better light, if that was possible. To do what was right, to protect those without power from those that had it... Yet she didn't call herself a hero, but instead it was natural to her. For him, it was a conscious choice to reject demonic ways, which was a good thing - but not as amazing as a natural and learned desire to help people. Why couldn't he have grown up in this world instead of the demon realm? "I suppose being called a 'hero' over what is normal for you... Is quite odd. I think I understand that, yes." He said in reply to her not being sure about being called a hero, with an understanding nod. It was quite odd, to have such a deep conversation with someone he had just met... In the demon realm, something like this would've never happened. But her next words were so wonderful to him, so incredible, that he almost jumped for joy.
Anyone could be a hero. And perhaps, he already was a hero... Or at least on his best way to becoming one. He'd have to get much stronger than he was currently - to stand up to threats such as Oni. At this point, he was a weakling, but one that had great desire and perhaps even potential. And even more... she saw him as a friend, another great thing to happen on this day. All in all, he really couldn't complain - the heat of the desert was a small thing to endure for such pleasant things. "I'd... I'd love to get a chance to train with you." he said, stumbling a bit over his own words, but smiling as brightly as before, simply happy with his lot in life now. "I don't have much experience with really training under someone worthy of respect, so I think that will be a new experience for both of us. Truth be told, I'm really happy... to have met someone as nice and wonderful as you, Nai-Ran. You honor me with your offer." The blue demon bowed his head slightly as a show of appreciation and respect, holding both of his hands in front of his chest for a moment, turned into fists that were pressed against each other, a sign of respect and honor amongst warriors.

"And was the alcohol of Earth as strong as the one that same demon brewed out of the violet, flesh-eating plants of the blasted plains?" That line, that dang line. Nai-ran, your words are constantly like sage advice, which is not a bad thing! And I love the shy awkwardness of Kadbra, being a just a daemon who only recently came over.
Kadbra the Blue Daemon- Your Word count is 3622, and you will be gaining a senzu bean, and 3622 PL Nai-ran the Serpentene Lass - Your word count is 3965, You will be losing a seznu bean, and gain 4936 PL
Note- Nai-ran you were going to gain 7018 PL, but your PL is above 80K+, so the weights only give you +50%. Without weights, you would gain 3450 PL.
Note note - Sorry for all the number switching, I missed a few things the first time, my apologies.
