Rumours of a Floating Tower [Z-FIGHTER]

A cloaked and hooded figure approached from the trees, his hand raising out of his blue cloak to wave at Fan. The energy the young boy gave off wasn't much compared to some he'd met, but even still, he was far above the average human. The hooded man wondered if it was worth it to test this boy. He needed to prepare himself for the upcoming war with the Mazoku as much as anyone else; did he really have the time on his hands to train yet another student?

We need all the help we can get, he thought to himself.

The cloaked figure lowered his hood, revealing his face to Fan. "Hello. My names Bing. Who might you be?" His grey eyes turned up to the tower Fan was resting on. He knew this place like the back of his hand by now, but he needed to keep the ruse up for just a bit longer. He wanted to see just what kind of man he was speaking with. Was he a brave and kind soul, or a selfish and greedy thief?

"They say you have to climb to the top without the use of your Ki if you want to taste the treasures at the top. Simply latch on and start ascending. Do you want to take the journey with me?"

"A pleasure to meet you, Fan."

Fan seemed disinterested in the treasure, which was a good sign. Lack of greed was one good mark for him. Perhaps he'd earn a few more on the way up.

Bing's eyes watched Fan critically as the boy studied the base of Korin's tower. Apparently he didn't even know where he was this whole time! The Z-Leader chuckled to himself, walking towards the massive tower, and gripping onto one of the sides tightly. He beckoned Fan to follow along, before hoisting himself up to the next chunk of the immense stone pillar.

"We've got quite a long climb. I hope you brought some snacks; I ran out of food yesterday."

The duo made their way up the tower, their pace quick, but their destination far. It'd be a while before they got to the top; a few hours perhaps, judging by the speed Fan was going, and assuming they made no long stops, of course.

It had been years since Bing had taken the time out to make this climb. He was just a bit weaker than Fan when he'd tried it, and his reward was an audience with the Kami of Earth himself. Bing had become Kami himself soon after, but of course, that time had passed. Maeve, Bing's wife, was Kami instead. She was a good fit for the role; her kindness exceeded what most people could muster.

Bing hoisted himself up a few more rungs, his body barely even feeling the strain as he maneuvered upwards. He'd dealt with much more strenuous training conditions than this by now.

"So," Bing started, "Have you been keeping up with galactic news? They say Planet Namek has a new ruler. You ever heard of Namek?"

"Depends on your definition of interesting, I suppose. It's a very peaceful place; not much technology, and the native people there are all monks... Well, most of them."

Bing glanced downwards for a moment. They were fairly high up already. The ground was practically out of sight, but judging by how long it took Bing last time he did this, that meant they weren't even close. He sighed to himself, hoisting up another set of stones, before returning to the conversation.

"They say there's this evil clan among them. Their leader, a fellow named Xylo, got strong enough to kill some of the strongest soldiers in the Saiyan Solar Empire and take over Namek for himself. People think he's gonna come here soon."

He turned his attention to Fan for a moment. The boys grumbling stomach was getting louder now. Maybe it would be a good idea to get some food before his potential new student died of starvation and over-exertion. Bing turned his eyes down at himself, his hand rifling through one of the pouches tied to his belt. After a moment, he plucked out a small green bean.

"Looks like I've got one left... Here, take this!" Bing leaned across the pillar, stretching his hand out towards Fan to offer him the Senzu Bean. The moment Fan accepted, Bing would pull back, and resume climbing. "This thing'll keep you full for a week, and it'll heal up any wounds you have. Pretty useful little veggie if you ask me."

Gira flew through the air, her friend, Kaci on her back. Normally, they wouldn't go out flying like they used to, but since Gira had been using her abilities lately, she had become a lot more confident. Confident enough to even defy the wishes of her mother and Aunt Mary. Gira looked up at Kaci. The teen appeared to be in awe of everything around her. "Wow, its been so long since i've been so high up." Kaci said, clinging to the back of Gira's shirt.

"Yeah, it has. We haven't done this since we were kids." Gira took a moment to admire the scenery as well. When she did, she saw a tall tower in the distance. Incredibly tall, in fact. They were flying at least half a mile off the ground, but this structure was even higher. Kaci noticed it too.

"What's that? Some kind of antenna?"

"I don't think so." Gira examined it as they got closer. It was made of stone, that much she could see. As they got even closer, they could spot two people climbing it.

"Hey, Gira. Bet you can't climb to the top." Kaci had that smile on her face that she got when she was trying to get a rise out of Gira.

"Oh, yeah?" The young half-Saiyan asked, considering the challenge. In all honesty, she was pretty sure she could climb it. "I'll tell you what. Not only will I climb it, I bet you five hundred Zeni that i'll beat those two to the top." Gira gave a satisfied smirk. Quick cash, training, and getting to see what was at the top of this tower. Gira could see no way this wouldn't go in her favor.

"Five hundred? Did you see the headstart they have on you?" The blond teen didn't want to take advantage of Gira like that, but the other teen was confident. Gira said nothing, simply staring ahead as they lazily floated through the air in the general direction of the tower. Kaci rolled her eyes. "Fine. But don't get mad when I take all of your money."

"I won't if you won't." Gira smiled slyly.

"Ha. ha." Kaci returned her remark with a sarcastic laugh. "Just land."

"As you command, your majesty." Gira landed at the base of the tower, looking up and doing some stretches. "Well, let's do this." Gira took a deep breath, lowered her stance, then jumped as high as she possibly could, latching on to the stone structure with her arms and legs and making her way skywards rung by rung as quickly as possible. Her first task was to catch up to the two climbers.
