The Fortuneteller's Desert, an almost endless expanse of sand and heat, hiding many potential treasures beneath its surface. However, those treasures were the last thing that was on Cipher's mind, as he sat on a cliff face, looking out over the empty desert before him.
A lot had happened recently. The death, and rebirth of his daughter Tekuma, his trip to Namek to gain more power, Walker's betrayel and the rise of Xylo. All of those things proceeded to hammer in one key truth into Cipher's mind.
The android was completely useless.
He looked down at a pale hand. Despite his slim frame, the android held a considerable amount of power, and his position in the BBA granted him a great deal of resources. But in the end, did it amount to anything? The android shook his head, answering his own mental question. He had failed to protect his daughter, his trip to Namek had ended in dismal failure, and even worse, had unwittingly helped a monster become even stronger. And when the chips were down, Cipher was forced to run, forced to defer to someone stronger in order to deal with the situation.
He turned his gaze south, to where he had come from. He didn't know what was happening, but he was certain Bing, Zucceta, Vipoi and Etoru were preparing for the battles ahead. Their significant power, and Vipoi's resources, would allow them to overcome this crisis. Cipher hoped so anyway. But Cipher knew his part in this story was over. There wasn't anything the android could do. Even with his own strength, he was nothing compared to the titans fighting to decide the fate of the galaxy.
It hurt, but that was the truth. Any attempt he had made to help the situation, had only ended making things worse. His attempts to assist Reikiko had only resulted in a religion which was now causing a small civil war on Konats, and alienated him from his friends and comrades. And his attempts on Namek, well, those wounds were still fresh.
Maybe Cipher should just disappear. Nobody would notice him if he was gone...
