Vennel was about to head towards the room she’d indicated before, when Alaistair went to get her a key and the food she forgot was being made for her. But it was when he was gone that she was snapped out of her sleepy daze. She began to hear a ruckus arise from the kitchen, when all of a sudden the dandy host came backing back out with a rather upset woman shouting at him about something. It took a while, but it seemed she was rather upset about Vennel and Plato, and some other girl apparently?
The spiked-haired woman came with the food, over towards Plato and Vennel’s locations, and served them each the meat sandwich. Venne looked the mighty meal over and was rather impressed. Meat was something she always loved, and while it was not a terribly large amount of it, it was still delicious looking. Just one sniff and she could tell this was going to taste amazing. She didn’t miss a beat before taking that juicy “burger,” as Alaistair called it, into her hands and take a large bite out of it.
With food still in her mouth, Vennel was chewing while listening to Eres speak to her. First she offered her gratitude, then with an implication of Vennel paying Alaistair for everything going on here, which she assumed some sort of repayment was to be expected for depending on his hospitality. Finally, mention that her gear was being looked at and repaired, which was a relief. But glancing over Eres’ shoulder and seeing the devil behind her a good deal, but mouthing something about claiming to have money, Vennel decided to go with it.
“Yawh, ahiy paid-”
She started to speak, but caught herself being hard to understand with the food still in her mouth. Swallowing the chewed sandwich with a satisfied burp, she continued the sentence without batting an eye.
“I paid him enough for this stuff. Thanks for the update about my armor though.”
Vennel wasn’t too fond of lying, but she figured soon enough Alaistair may come asking for the favor to be repaid so it was more so a truth about the future.
With that said and done, though, Vennel quickly tore through eating bite after bite of the juicy meaty patty and the crisp vegetables. As she finished at a breakneck pace, she sighed contentedly, and burped loudly, an audible thank-you to the chef.
Then looking back to Alaistair she’d say one last thing to him and Eres.
“Well, I’ll head to the room then. Alaistair, if you’d care to meet me there with the key, that’d be great. And as for you miss, good work with the food. Really good tasting, I’ll definitely have to eat some more of this stuff some time.”
She stepped away then, and headed back up stairs.
