The room under the hidden dojo within the demon realm was glowing with red, swirling light from the hole in the ground, right in the middle. For a room with an open portal to the human world, the room seemed very plain and simple – as if it had just been carved out of the stone, without any decorative work. And right in the middle, the menacing red whirlpool of energy. And in front of that energy stood a tall figure with blue skin, who peered down into the swirling energy. A single drop of sweat ran down the side of his face – both because of excitement and slight worry.
“Well, are you going or not? The portal won't be open much longer. Or do you want to wait another century for the next opening?” A snide voice came from the entrance to the room – Kadbra, the blue skinned demon, knew that his master of red skin and mean, green eyes was standing there, looking at him. Honestly, the relatively good natured demon never understood why a master of demonic swordsmanship like the older red demon ever took him on as a student.
“O-of course I'm going! I told you when I arrived here, I only put up with you because I wanted to use this portal.” replied Kadbra, with a bit of snark in his voice. Edging closer to the portal, a centimeter a second, his heart beating faster and faster... At least, until he suddenly felt a kick to his backside and found himself catapulted right into the portal, with his master having just given him the express sending through.
“Tche. The boy forgot his sword.” the red skinned demon walked over to the wall right next to the door, where a large black greatsword was leaning against it. Picking up the blade without any difficulty, he tossed it over his shoulder, into the red swirling whirlpool, which disappeared without a trace only seconds later.
“I will KILL that old man!” With a yelp, Kadbra flew through a magnitude of colors and odd lighting, before he noticed that he was still falling... and falling... And then he noticed a bright, white light moving closer, before blinding him by shooting right into his eyes. By the time his eyes got used to it, the blue demon noticed that he was falling head-first, with quite a bit of velocity, towards a huge amount of sand right under him. With a thud, the horned young man landed in the sand, his entire upper half sinking under the dunes.
The lower half of the demon twitched a bit, before, with a slight shockwave, he forced out a blast of Ki around himself and surfaced from the sand, still laying face down in it, before slowly changing into a sitting position and coughing up a lot of sand. Unpleasant, to say the least, and it was quite hot here. Not enough to be outright harmful right away, but still not exactly nice. After getting the sand out of his yellow eyes, he looked up at the sky – a blue sky, without any clouds, and a searing hot, orange and yellow sun. So... this was it. This was earth. Right above him, the red portal slowly dissipated – but not before something huge and black came through, falling right towards the demon that was still catching his breath. With another muttered curse, Kadbra kicked sand in a vain attempt to stand up quickly, and managed to skitter back just far enough that the huge blade landed, point first, between his legs, just inches away from where it would've become the most painful experience of his life. His entire body tensed up at that realization, before breathing a sigh of relief.
Slowly getting to his feet this time, by simply using his Ki to push himself up, Kadbra pulled his black greatsword from the sand and attached it to the holster on his back. By now, the heat of the desert was getting quite nasty, so he took off his jacket and shirt, carrying them over his shoulder, as the sun burned down onto his sweating, trained body.
“Phew... Rough landing, but I'm here. This legendary planet... Now, to find a way out of this heat. I feel like I'm swimming in a lava pool here.” Kadbra mumbled to himself, before slowly lifting up from the ground, surrounded by an aura that looked a bit like black smoke, and beginning his first flight through the air of the human world. Even here in the hot desert, the air tasted so different and new that he couldn't help but grin from ear to ear. This would be fun!
