Species Name: Mudaman
Home Planet: The desert planet of Zilyana is a grand, resource rich planet in the corner of space. Due to it's wealth of natural reserves it has been the target spot of many settlers over the years. It is a land with no 'real' government and has changed hands from the ancient Saiyans of the past, to a colony of Humans stricken with wanderlust, only to finally settle most recently in the hands of the Arcosian Empire. It is a wild and lawless powder keg of a melting pot with only one real native race suited to thrive in it's incredibly harsh climate.
Starting Planet: Arcose (Common) Vegeta (Rare)
Starting Power: 1500-2000

At first glance: Mudaman are a mostly humanoid race. Standing between 5 to 7 feet and sporting bronze to dark complexions they have the basic body shape of a human save for a few notable things. Firstly, their bodies are all covered in a series of dark tattoo-like birthmarks that look almost like engravings. Secondly, and most strikingly, they have some very bestial features such as their jackal heads and the heavy fur that extends from both their elbow downward and their knees downward. The final touches include the claws on each digit and the canine-like tails that extend from their spine. They tend to have darker fur colors such as blacks or rich browns but the rare (and often sought after) white furred mudaman does exist.

Background: Thousands of years ago, after the destruction of Planet Sadla, the Saiyan race existed as nomads. In their search for a suitable new home they stumbled upon the dessert planet Zilyana. Deterred by the inhospitable climate and the apparent lack of wildlife they considered it a dead world. That was until, of course, they stumbled upon the natives: the Mudaman race.
The first contact between saiyans and mudaman was a bloody one, for the saiyans had come while the 'Star of Canis' was burning in the sky. Scouts and small squads of soldiers were attacked and devoured by massive feral beasts in the night. Unbeknownst to them the mudaman, while bathing in the celadon light of their 'Holy Star,' had accessed fearsome transformation. One that empowered them with cosmic energy and primal bloodlust. With this mighty power it seemed that they were to repel their saiyan visitors, but like all good things the effects of their Star had to end.
Without the element of surprise, or the boon of their celestial benefactor: the more primitive mudaman were easily conquered by the full brunt of the much more experienced saiyan army. It was after their skirmish that the saiyan warriors discovered the various hieroglyphics detailing the truth of the mudaman race and the power they attained from their 'Holy Star.' So, having been impressed by their ferocity and interested in their potential the saiyans took the strongest of the mudaman warriors as slaves.
It was here that the race was split into two, forming the two clans. The Star Thieves and the Star Walkers.
--Star Thief History--
After the enslavement and abduction of the warriors, the remaining mudaman were left weak and vulnerable to the hostile world. The once rulers of the planet were forced to hole up within their holy city. The race feared for their safety and as such looked to other means to gain strength. It was in that search for power that they discovered the means to draw even more power from 'The Star of Canis.' This surge of pure power was exhilarating to the otherwise weak members of the mudaman Race. The rush of it inspired them to draw upon the star's energies even when they didn't need it, the thrill of it lead to a growing culture of debauchery and decadence devoted to the star; fostering an addiction that would only grow and grow as the generations passed on.
Despite their addiction and generations of solitude the mudaman natives (or 'Star Thieves' as their outsider kin dubbed them) had potential to be a fearsome asset. Their bodies had adapted to utilize their celestial boons to their fullest extent; that, and their natural strength and hardiness due to their homeworld, made them the perfect choice to be soldiers.
--Star Walker History--
After being abducted by the saiyan invaders: the mudaman warriors were steadily broken and groomed to be tools of war for them. At first they resisted, but as time went on they started to appreciate their captors. The allure of battle and conquest over new worlds inspired the primal need for dominance within the canine-like people. So when the time came for the saiyans to make their claim on Planet Plant the mudaman were more than willing to assist them. It was there that they truly earned their place as companions of war.
When it came to wiping out planets the mudaman of Planet Vegeta would be used as 'attack dogs' of sorts. For planets that either lacked a moon or had a lunar cycle that was too inconvenient for saiyans to exploit: they'd send in a small group of saiyans as 'handlers' and a squadron of mudaman who would use 'The Star of Canis' to transform into the great feral beasts that they were known for. This successful arrangement lasted for years forging a bond between the two species.
That was of course until the planet was wiped out by a meteor. All the mudaman upon Vegeta were wiped out with the saiyan populace. Thankfully however, the Planet Trade Organization had taken plenty of mudaman into their ranks insuring that the Star Walkers would persist despite the tragedy. They remained scattered within the PTO as it rose (and fell) until it eventually became known as the Arcosian Empire of today. With the revival of Planet Vegeta however, a small amount of mudaman have been spotted in SSE Space fighting under their banner against their brethren.
Now, rejoined with their lost kin from centuries past, the mudaman fight together under the Arcosian Empire's Banner.
Name Pun Theme(s): Mudaman names are based on Egyptian Gods and Goddesses: Seth, Sekhmet, Ra, Osiris
Unique Characteristics:
Cold Weakness: Being from a desert planet mudaman have evolved to be active during the harsh heat of day and dormant during the cold nights. Due to this a mudaman's power level operates at 75% during the full moon. This weakness can be removed at 20,000 PL with the purchase of [UT] Winter Coat
Bestial Tracking: A mudaman's sense of smell is amazing. If they have a scent they can track anyone to near pinpoint precision wherever they may be on a planet. In the ancient days this is how mudaman would often hunt despite the low visibility of their sandy world.
Celestial Addiction: For the Star Thieves: the power attained from 'The Star of Canis' is like a high inspiring them to abuse it's gifts. As such, during the Celestial Event a mudaman can activate a Star Surge giving them an extra (x4) to all transformations that do not require the Celestial Event to maintain. Using this ability however, puts them into a state of Star Withdrawal after the Celestial Event putting a (-x2) multiplier to all their transformations until the next Celestial Event. The Star Withdrawal state can be forcefully removed with a technique slot.
Celestial Destruction: For Star Walkers: the power attained from 'The Star of Canis' is like a weapon used to inspire fear in their enemies. As such, once per thread they may unleash a portion of their stored celestial energies in a devastating attack that adds an extra (x2) to their current multiplier.
Hybrid Characteristics: Hybrids gain Bestial Tracking as a free unique characteristic. Star Walker children gain an extra offensive technique slot while Star Thieves gain [UT] Lesser Star Surge: Which increases their offensive power multiplier by (x1) but lowers it by -(x3). Bio Androids using their DNA can choose any 1 of the 3 for their trait.
