(PL: 1,706 with Heavy Weights) ---------- “Oh, what a lovely day for an adventure, and what better place to do it.” The Heran Chikara had spent the last few weeks beating himself to near death under the guise of training, and was now feeling like there must be a better way to fulfill his needs. When he was just a boy he would always run out at night into the forest and explore until his parents dragged his back kicking and screaming, so why not channel some of that boyish energy into going on an adventure through the mystical bamboo forest? “What treasures shall we find today?”
Chikara had loved exploring new regions and discovering ancient secrets masked by time. Like when he was seven years old and he found strange markings on the bottom of a tree stump. While his parents were teaching him to be good mannered and well behaved, he was daydreaming about running through deserts and fighting pirates. Nothing got his fire burning as much as a good mystery, but unfortunately he was having no such luck today. “What’s a man gotta do around here to get some action?” In terms of fun he was having this ranks right up there with nail pulling and bone breaking.
Chikara’s mind was already slipping off the task at hand; every branch he walked by made him imagine all the exercises he could be doing. He looked up to the trees above and saw monkeys swinging from branch to branch, helping each other along the way. “Now that’s what I call a good time. Enjoy the simple life!” Chikara kept marching on, but the environment was now taking it’s toll. The sun made the day so beautiful and ripe for play, but after hours of it beaming down on the skin of Chikara, he was about ready to call it a day.
He reached for his flask, and took a swig, but it seems that he had gotten very reckless with his rations, and it was empty. “Damn, I knew I should have brought a spare. These damn weights don't help much.” Chikara thought about flying home, but that was a good few hours away now, and he wouldn’t even know what direction to start in. Luckily his ear picks up on a familiar sound in the distance. “Ah hah! I beat that’s a stream!” The sound of water crashing onto rocks was a sound very known to the exploring type, and Chikara quickly rushed to find the source.
Five minutes of brisk jogging later and Chikara found what he was looking for. He got down on his knees and cupped the water in his hands, drinking in many mouthfuls. “Oh sweet baby I’ve missed your taste, I’ll ignore the fish pish this time.” Chikara was in bliss, but not all was right. He heard a crackling of twigs coming from somewhere behind him, and quickly shot around. “Who’s there? Anyone?” With a forest like this, it was most likely some sort of animal looking for a drink, but with Chikara being the man he was, who knows what it could be.

Viktara stirred in her sleep amongst a makeshift bed of leaves and twigs. It wasn’t the most luxurious spot that the Heran bountyhunter had passed out in, but somehow it also wasn’t the filthiest. Drool seeped out of her mouth as the gargantuan woman rolled onto her back and unconsciously swatted at the 22 ounce beer bottles that formed the perimeter around her nest. With her loud snoring being a key deterrent to keeping the wildlife at bay, the woman was enjoying her peace and solitude after a long night on the town… But then all the noise happened.
A pack of screeching monkeys suddenly leapt overhead, carrying with them the smell of wet fur and dung. The previously soothing trickle of water had increased to a pounding cacophony that mirrored the Heran’s own oncoming migraine. Finally for the cherry on top, now some loud-mouthed idiot was screaming into the woods. Sighing to herself, the woman’s bloodshot eyes wearily opened as she sat up in her seat. It was going to be one of those days, wasn’t it?
“Yeah, it’ll your damned murderer if you don’t shut the hell up!” She growled in her typical southern-sounding twang.

The sound that emanated through the forest was one that sent chills down to the very core of the Heran warrior. It was the sound of a beast that could cause him more harm than the entire Saiyan Solar Empire. It was the sound of a woman. Chikara almost jumped out of his skin, landing ass first into the stream and scaring away the wildlife below. He quickly stood back up and assumed the stance of a warrior, not wanting to show his blunder to the hidden mistress. "I did not expect to find a lady all the way out here, will you show yourself?"
The monkeys above howled at hooched at the scene of Chikara's accident, but he kept his composure and put on a poker face. "I'll have you know that I am a mighty warrior of the Heran race, and no little jungle girl is going to intimidate me, so come out nice and slowly. I wouldn't want to ruin your pretty little face." Chikara turned the machismo up to eleven, trying to find the subtle charm he once possessed when it came to the female kind. He took a quick glance to the water, checking his reflection on the off chance this amazonian took to his liking.

Another groan escaped through the amazon’s lips as she rubbed her fingers against her weary eyes. A vain attempt to soothe the throbbing pain that was quickly rearing it’s ugly face in the wake of consciousness. The man in the woods continued to speak, but in that moment his words were more akin to nails on a chalkboard than comprehensible language. The constant drilling of his utterances continued to wear on the Heran’s already wounded mind, and with no end in sight, she finally erupted.
“OH MY GOD, SHUT UP!” Her voice boomed with enough vitriol to cause a distant flock of birds to suddenly disperse.
It was too early in the morning for any of this. Or, at least she assumed it was still morning and not 2:PM in the afternoon. Either way the sun was still up, which meant it was far too soon to display any of that ‘southern hospitality’ the Heran was known for.
Finally rising to her feet, the woman begrudgingly meandered her way towards the source of all this sudden noise. Cradling her aching head with one hand and propping herself against a tree with the other, the 6’4 tower of a woman finally appeared before the man, pausing briefly as she gazed upon his visage. Well, ‘gazing through his visage’ would be a more apt term, as the man’s green skin and bright orange hair blurred together in her mind under the simple banner of ‘Annoyance.’ As she continued to approach him, his obvious Heran heritage didn’t even ping in her mind before she spoke.
“Move.” she ordered before gruffly pushing past the man, not leaving enough time for him to actually react to her command.
Collapsing to her knees at the riverbank, the woman suddenly sunk her entire head into the cold stream and greedily drank of its contents without a second thought. As animalistic as this image was for a seemingly civilized woman, it was practically instinctual for her. Growing up in rural farmlands like she had tended to wear away at some of the social barriers that separated beast from man. Simple ideas like germs or river bacteria weren’t even an afterthought as she slurped up her fill of the refreshing liquid while fish ignorantly swam by.
This continued for an almost uncomfortable amount of time, but suddenly as if struck by lightning, her body jolted upwards to attention with her eyes wide as saucers. “Hold on.” She paused before abruptly swiveling her body back to face the young warrior. The bangs and ends of her wild waist-length hair now dripping with moisture.
“Did you say Heran?”

Another roar came from the woman’s direction; it was clear that Chikara had put her in a bad mood. He wanted to take his weights of in case things got out of hand, but then the Earth beneath him began to tremble. He shock and fear and thought that perhaps the crust was tearing apart, but then he saw the beast that had caused it. The woman walked forward and shoved him out of her way, throwing him to the ground like a child’s play thing. His face kissed the mud below and he got his daily vitamins from the bugs within.
He pulled himself back to his feet and wiped as much mud out of his face as possible, then examined the creature in front of him. Surprisingly it was another Heran, though he shouldn’t really be surprised at this point considering all the others he had come by. This one was very different however, she was massive, especially for a woman. Chikara had no shame in admitting that he was a little intimidated by the gargantuan, but also a little turned on. Under normal circumstance he may have not been, but being stranded in a forest does things to a man.
The woman got to her knees and poured the water in her mouth without a care in the world. It was odd to see a woman do such things, but then again everything about this specimen was odd. “Now that’s the kind of position I like to see from my women” thought Chikara, though as if she could read his mind she quickly jolted up. She questioned the ‘Heran’ part of his statement, and he replied. “Yes, Heran, that’s what I am. Presumably you are also a Heran, yes? I’m not mistaking a big green Human for a member of my own kind?”

The woman was still caught in amazement like a deer in headlights. She had enough difficulty encountering other members of her elusive race in areas they were known to frequent, like dodgy satellites and bars. To just run into one now out in the middle of the woods was more akin to waking up and finding a unicorn in your backyard.
“Y-yeah, I’m a Heran too. The name’s Viktara.” She answered with a still slightly surprised utterance.
As the alcohol-induced haze finally began to wear away, Viktara finally arose to her feet to inspect the alien a bit closer. She circled the man like a predator circling its prey. Absently tapping her index finger against her indigo-tinged lips as she studied the individual.
He was a lighter complexion than the handful of other Herans she’d encountered in her travels. His skin took on a more green tinge than the deeper blues that adorned herself, her teacher, and the one other Heran she’d encountered on Earth months prior. He also seemed much scrawnier than the other males of her species, standing at about eye-level to herself as opposed to the 7’+ towers of meat she was used to encountering.
Overall, there was something about him just seemed… Different from the (admittedly few) other Herans she’d encountered in the past. She had to know more. Any information the estranged Heran could gather on her race was considered valuable. “Where are you from? What’s your name? The hell are you doin’ way out here in the boonies?” She quizzed the man.

The woman seemed rather shocked, but she replied that she was indeed a Heran; just as Chikara had suspected. The woman circled him for a moment, tapping her lips and examining him quite inquisitively. What was she doing? Perhaps she was inspecting Chikara to see if he would make a suitable mate? Or maybe a darker intention; a suitable dinner. It usually wouldn’t expect such from any other Heran, but this woman was quite different to the women he had known; who knows what she would want with him? Chikara eyed her closely, and prepared himself for any ill will.
For moment at least she seemed more interested than irritated, which was a very good sign for Chikara. She bombarded with questions which he answered one by one. “My name is Chikara. I came from Earth, at least that’s where I was born. My parents left our people because they didn’t fit in with the group culture, unfortunately for them I did. I ran away when I was young and didn’t look back. Oh and I have an uncle from Vegeta as well; things didn’t go well with him though. Technically speaking I suppose I come from the same place as you.”
“And what am I doing out here? Well isn’t is obvious? I’m on an adventure!” Chikara leans against a tree next to him with his arm and bulged his muscles. “I’m a wild animal on the inside I assure you; always looking for an adventure wherever I am. This one was a bit of a bust however, until I came across you of course.” Chikara pushed off the tree and approached the amazonian; sticking his finger out at here. “That’s everything you need to know about me for the time being. Now lets get to your story shall we?”

“Earth-born?” She echoed in disbelief. She knew her race was scattered amongst the stars, but somehow she didn’t picture Earth being among the ‘lucky few’ that were graced by Heran seed. Somehow everything seemed to be magnetized to this little dirt-rock, herself included. She’d met more Herans here in two months than she had in two years in deep space. All these factors served only to increase her curiosity, as the alienated amazon had few remaining ties to her breed.
She listened intently to the rest of his story, though his ‘wild animal’ comment served only to force a derisive chuckle to eek out. Once he finished and asked for her share of information, the woman paused briefly as if mulling over her answers. “Sorry Sugar, my story’s in a closed book. You ain’t gotta know much ‘bout me, other than my name, and that I ain’t from Earth or Hera.” She grinned coyly. Despite her appearances, she did like to keep her private life private. Besides, she was was the one asking questions. The next of which being the level of strength behind this new Heran fighter. Luckily, she didn’t have to verbally ask about that one.
Taking a step back and flipping the pink visor over her eyes, the woman stared intently as numbers began to ping across the screen. Her disappointment was almost palpable as after a few short seconds, it cut off at ‘1,706’
The woman groaned in frustration before roughly slapping her palm against her forehead. “Oh come on, are you for real? You don’t even cap out at two thousand?” She scoffed, placing her hands on her hips and turning away from the young fighter in disgust. “This has gotta be some kind of joke. There’s no way I’m the strongest Heran on the planet. At least one of you should’ve shown me somethin’ worth braggin’ about.”

(PL: 6,824) ---------- “Yes, Earth born. And believe me I’m not the only one.” Chikara had so graciously told his life’s story, or at least the trimmed version, and she seemed quite interested in it. But when it came turn for her to give up information, she refused. Chikara was disappointed but quickly forgot once she pulled down the little visor and started examining him. It appeared to be a scouter; something he never bothered investing in. He didn’t need a piece of technology attached to his head in order to gauge someone’s strength, it was just a liability.
He stood by and waited for the amazement and shock on the woman’s face when she read just how powerful he was, and started flexing to prepare. But when the time came and numbers stopped their flickering, it was disappointed instead which colored her face. Apparently he did not even hit 2,000, which was reasonable considering the fact that he was currently wearing his heavy weights. Chikara predicted that if removed his weights he would probably exceed her power. “Just wait, you’ll see what I’ve got hidden away. I am the strongest Heran rest assured”
Chikara pulled up his legs and threw off his ankles weights, then he removed his wrist weights as well. He looked at his own reflection in the water and once again admired his impeccable physique, then turned back to the woman and smirked. “It appears as though your scouter was examining my power with my weights on, but as you can see I have a lot more to show than that. Why don’t you tell your little device to give me another go and see where I land this time. I think you’ll be shocked at what I’ve got in store for you.”

Viktara grew even more intrigued by the man’s next comment. It was sounding more and more like Earth had a sizeable Heran population after all. Given her own experiences, that didn’t seem far from the truth either. In the end, her being marooned on this planet was actually serving to become more of a benefit than the alien ever could have imagined. Fate truly does smile upon misfortune.
Turning her attentions back to the cocky Heran, Viktara couldn’t help but stifle a small snicker at the expense of the young man. She doubted that even without his weights he would be able to impress her, but it wouldn’t hurt to humor him for a bit more. If he couldn’t provide a decent challenge, at the very least he could supply some entertainment for the lady warrior. “Alright then Tiger, show me what you’ve got.” She cooed with her lips curling into a grin.
As soon as Chikara announced he was ready, she would tap the device again and be greeted by another flurry of numbers shooting across the magenta screen. Once the digits finally dinged into place, the end result was… Actually somewhat respectable. 6,824. More than twice as strong as the last Heran she’d encountered on Earth, and probably around the same level she was at back during her days on Raiti-Zacro. Setting aside the fact that his maximum power was still marginally lower than her own heavy weighted level, his efforts actually did serve to surprise the woman… Albeit after radically lowered expectations.
The warrior briefly considered dropping all pretenses to shed her weighted jacket and do some flexing of her own, but a more devilish idea struck her mind. Clearing her throat, the woman tried her best attempt at faked enthusiasm. “WOWIE, you weren’t foolin’! Why, with a power level that high, I reckon could beat just about anyone in a fight!” She lied. Though she definitely wouldn’t win any acting awards, she was banking on the young man being dense enough to fall into her ploy.

Chikara powered up to his maximum without any sort of transformation. He was confident in his ability to best any warrior and now would be the chance to prove it. Though in the end he was hoping that it wouldn’t need to come to that; he was always looking for more allies rather than enemies. Perhaps this woman could fill the role of ally? Probably not, only if she could prove to Chikara that she was strong enough. After the insult she had thrown at him though perhaps it would be better to leave her behind and never look back.
He widened his stance and placed his arms down to his side. His aura flared up and he pushed his body to whatever it was capable now that the weights were gone. He felt supremely confident that the Heran would be impressed with his new power. He broke out into another pose as the woman read his new power level. He was so enamoured with his own physique that he almost missed the kind words given to him by Viktara. Finally someone was recognizing they strength that he had; it was about damn time, and thankfully he didn’t have to kill her to do it.
“You got that right, baby” Chikara once again flexed for the imaginary camera. “But now that you’ve realized my real power, I’d take it that you would want to apologize, right? I mean come on, you read it clear as day. I wouldn’t want to roughen up such a darling as yourself but I can’t just brush of such an insult. After all I am a Heran and my pride is about as big as they come.” Chikara was wholly serious in his comment. No woman could possibly get away with damaging the pride of a Heran warrior.
