Species Name:
Cookuran
Home Planet:
Cookur
Starting Planet:
Any
Starting Power:
1,500 to 2,000
Appearance: The Cookurans are a reptilian species who resemble anthropomorphic reptiles. Like most reptiles, they are sexually androgynous, with no distinguishable features between male or female unless they are in the process of breeding. A healthy adult Cookuran can grow anywhere between 9 to 12 feet tall and weigh between 250 to 400 lbs. A lot of their body weight coming from muscle mass, which means they are naturally quite strong. The Cookuran head resembles that of a komodo dragon with carnivorous teeth, several of which remain visible even when their mouth is closed as they hang out over the sides. They have no body hair, but are capable of growing horns, frills and crests along their scalp, spine and tail. They have four fingers and a thumb on each hand, with three toes upon digitigrade feet. Each of their digits ends with a hook shaped claw, with the ones on their toes being twice as big as the ones on their fingers.
Color pigmentation for Cookurans typically comes in three hues that are motteled together, giving them a rather exotic appearance. These hues range between orange, yellow, red, black, pink, brown, gray and white. Their eyes likewise are a blend of two colors and have slit shaped pupils.

Background:
Long ago, before the Saiyans emerged as a galactic species, there was another race who competed with the Arcosians for strongest in the galaxy. Cookur was a hostile planet, where only the strong managed to survive, and through this environment, the Cookurans evolved. A violent and conflict driven species, none could deny that the Cookurans were mighty warriors in battle. Yet for all their great power, they had a glaring weakness, they were isolationist. Resources were scarce on Cookur, and if you didn't fight for every scrap you could get your hands on, you wouldn't last long. As a result, the Cookurans found it extremely difficult to trust others (even their own kind) for any great length of time. Alliances were formed out of necessity, in order to achieve a common goal that neither could accomplish on their own. The moment the alliance was no longer necessary, the Cookurans typically ended it on the spot. This lack of coordination between them was what allowed the Arcosians to come out on top, for their empire had thousands of troops at its command, which overwhelmed any single Cookuran through strength of numbers.
Driven from their home planet, the Cookurans were forced to retreat into deep space to avoid the Arcosian forces, and there they stayed for centuries, unable to return. But now things have begun to change. The Arcosian Empire has lost a significant amount of its original power, and the Cookurans sense an opportunity to reclaim what was once theirs. During the time they've been gone, the Cookurans have learned the necessity of working with others, at least to an extent. They are still believe in survival of the fittest, but at least now they have (begrudgingly) started to offer terms of alliances with other races. They are building their own army, and once they have the manpower they need, they plan to have a rematch with the ones who banished them to the depths of space!

Unique Characteristics:
Durability - Cookurans evolved on a volcanic world with sparse resources. As such, they developed thick scales and an extremely high tolerance for heat. When activated while receiving an attack, Durability adds a one-time X1 modifier to your defensive PL.
Hot Blooded - The Cookuran body temperature is several dozen degrees above what is deemed acceptable for most individuals. They have learned how to harness their body heat to increase their effectiveness in battle. When activated during a melee attack, Hot Blooded adds a one-time X1 multiplier to your offensive PL.
Transformations:
Salamander State X12 - 0 - Starting Transformation, requires Self Immolation
Scalding State x7 - 50,000
Surtur Form x18/x12 - 150,000 - Requires Power Weighting technique
Loki Form x16 - 150,000 - Requires Ki Suppression
Volcanic Form x20 - 200,000
Solar Form x32/x25 - 300,000
Dragon Form x42 - 430,000 - Permanent
Cookurans evolved on a volcanic world of flames and ash. This would eventually become the basis for which they could transcend to new levels of power as the Cookuran's power level rises in accordance with their body temperature. When entering the Salamander state, the Cookuran voluntarily immerses themselves in flame and allows the heat to seep into their body. When they emerge, their skin takes on a vibrant yellow hue as the heat of the flames is contained within them. The Cookuran must use this form wisely, however, as their body starts to cool down after a while. Meaning that this form can not be maintained for long periods of time, unless the Cookuran routinely cooks themselves to prolong its effects.
The Scalding State is more practical, if less effective than the Salamander state. Those who have achieved this transformation can amplify their body temperature to the point where their sweat manifests itself in the form of steam. By activating this form, the Cookuran becomes enveloped in a protective cloud of heated vapor
The Surtur Form is a sight to behold by ally and enemy alike. Named after the king of fire giants in Norse mythology, this transformation causes the Cookuran to grow several times their normal size, becoming a super heated giant in battle.
The Loki Form is likewise derived from Norse mythology, and is named after the mischievous god of fire. This form allows the Cookuran to transcend the power of the Salamander state without increasing their size. Indeed, the Loki Form actually causes the Cookuran to shrink down to half their normal size. This form is especially useful at getting enemies to lower their guard before they realize how powerful it truly is.
The Volcanic Form is easily the most horrifying transformation of the Cookuran people, at least visually. This form causes the user's body temperature to spike to levels that no ordinary mortal could possibly survive exposure to. Their skin blackens like ebony and their circulatory system becomes visible in the form of glowing red veins spanning across their body. Their eyes blaze like flames and their saliva glows as if it were molten lava. Cookurans who enter this form are commonly known to go on genocidal rampages unless something can distract them long enough to regain their composure.
The Solar Form carries a shock and awe quality as the Cookuran has learned how to access the power of the sun itself. When using this form, the Cookuran's body shines like a living star, and an aura of plasma radiates from their body. The extreme temperature generated while in this form can be used both offensively and defensively, much to the dismay of the Cookuran's enemies.
The Dragon Form is the pinnacle of Cookuran achievement, one which they discovered during their exile into deep space. Those who obtain this form are considered royalty among the Cookuran species, and as such, only the most elite of the elite have been able to harness it. True to its name, the Cookuran transcends into a draconic state of being. In addition to taking on a western European style form, their inherent features become more prominently exagurated, such as frills and crests becoming more pronounced, while additional spikes and horns may develop across their body. Skin coloration becomes much more vibrantly detailed, giving the otherwise savage Cookurans a quality of beauty their common peers do not possess.
