Though it had only become a tradition of his since he settled on earth, Max rose from his bed exactly an hour after the crack of dawn. The warm mix of sunlight invaded the small outhouse he had been staying in for the while, a small ray reaching his feet as he pushed the covers off of his body. The chill of the room would push him to his small closet across the room, the beige door swinging open before Max reached inside. He'd grab a number of white towels, throwing his black robe over his skin and boxers as a faint knock was heard at his door. Max would raise a brow to it, tightening his robe before slowly opening the door for the visitor.
"Ah, Max! It's a pleasure to- What do you want Allen? I've still got a week in this place ya'know.." That's Mr. Allen, Max's landlord. A person he's never really been fond of.. And he wasn't the only who thought that. The man had obviously been integrated into a family business, a number of plaques and properties stating: 'Ten Generations of experience!' Or something of the sort.. A ruthless business man he was, rather than a decent person. It was the only reason Max was being booted, since the previous owners of his place had passed not too long ago. How nice they were..-"Now don't get hasty, I'm not kickin' ya' out yet. I'm just here to remind you that your mail won't be comin' here anymore." Max would shrug at the information, showing his unconcern for his mail. Considering the very small number of friends Max actually has made in his life, there aren't any on Earth. At least, as far as he knows.. It had been quite some time since he had settled, so there was no true way of telling..-It's not like he really got anything in the box anyway. Excluding the occasional magazine that poked his interests, Max really only ever got junk mail. "Not sure why that's relevant to someone like me..-But thanks? Anything else sir- Because I'm looking to freshen up a bit at the bathhouse."
"That'll be all, continue with your day.." The somewhat large man would wave Max off as he stepped onto the path outside, his weight sloshing around with him as he walked. Where was he off to? Max couldn't care less, stepping outside as he floated along the dirt path to the nearby bathhouse. The steam from the baths would cloud his vision as he opened the door, his feet feeling cold on the steaming floor. A small duo of children would pass by Max, waving to him as they walked up to him. "Heya' Mr. A! We're about to go steam, wanna come?" The kid was a local Max saw on the occasion, typically seen at the nearby pool, and known for being a playful troublemaker. "Alright, lead the way.." Max knew what was coming, it hadn't been the first time he had run into the kids in this situation.. The two would laugh as they rushed into the room, Max following slowly so they could have time to prepare. As he stepped in, he found the room empty. Well- It was obvious they were hiding on the other side of the door, but Max played it off as if he didn't know. "Where did they go..?" A small chuckle could be heard as a bucket of ice cold water was dumped on his head, d "Ah, should've seen it comin'.." The children would laugh as they ran out, laughing as they exited the bathhouse..
Max would chuckle to himself as he watched the children run outside, walking slowly as made his way to the bathhouse. The hot misty steam would flow through his lungs as he approached the near-empty pool, as it never reached its full capacity. He'd let his towel drop as he reached the water, taking in a deep breath before sinking his feet into the warm water. "Ah..-Nothin' else like it.." He'd visibly relax as hid body sunk into the steaming water, a calm, warm feeling brushing over his skin as he lifted his head to the ceiling. A deep exhale would emanate from his body as he closed his eyes, letting the warmth take Max to a different place..
...
(I'll finish it one day. Promise.)
