Thread PL: 13,534Polara was sitting in a clearing surrounded by large, beautiful oak trees, stalks of bamboo, and the sounds of birds twittering in the dawn. The beautiful birds were sitting on her legs; as the woman sung softly a melody she would sing to Defrosch and her other kids to put them to sleep. Thinking of Northanius and Hayll only made her miss her sons more; yet she knew they had to be out there. Somewhere. Her voice was soft; the music a calm lullaby as the birds sung to her perfect pitch tune. The black and white Arcosian was relaxed against the trunk of an oak, eyes closed as she sung softly. Sure she was a military commander, sure she was busy most of the time. But on times she was not busy, the woman took time to herself to appreciate the beauty of trees and the tiny winged creatures known as birds. These odd, beautiful and multicolored creatures had a thing about them that really made the mother love them. From their songs to their colors, birds were a secret hobby of hers.. until they flew away as she stopped singing; noticing a massive ki nearby. Immediately, she stood up and went on the defensive. Thread Pl – 13,685 Heavy Weights on
The trip to Earth was not an impromptu one. For the first time her service to Vegeta had been requested. Although her task was a construction based one on Namek, the job provided the first real feelings of importance. While her loyalty was nothing to question, the Majin had been a bit…complacent in the past weeks. Physically she had trained, but her strength and combat prowess was only part of what she could offer the Solar Saiyan Empire. Trained from a young age by her master, she knew the importance of observation and information. Strength of course mattered when it came to war, but what if that war could be won before the battles ever began? With that mindset her ship had blasted off for Earth. Aware of the tension between the two worlds she figured her new and unknown association with the SSE would allow her to observe where others could not. On top of that, she wanted to know more of the relationship between the two. The better informed she was, the more helpful she could be.
When her ship broke through the atmosphere of the blue planet and the flames subsided, she rose from her captain’s chair. On autopilot there was little she needed to do save look out the window and enjoy the view as she descended. The drop towards the ground below was quick, the earth rushing up at her ship as if the two were on an inevitable collision course. With a yawn she stepped away from the glass. The vessel kept the gravity inside stable and its system would not allow it to slam to the dirt, in this day and age ships flew themselves. From a nearby counter she scooped up her weighted wrist bands, securing them around her forearms. Day by day the training weights got lighter as she grew stronger. Before long, she wouldn’t even need them at all. Next she scooped up her scouter and clipped it to her waist. With this being a visit purely for reconnaissance she most likely wouldn’t need the device, but it was a good idea to keep it on her person just in case.
Speaking of not needing it…she sensed something below, the signature catching her natural senses as her ship started to slow. Little had she known when entering orbit that the computer had picked a small clearing in the center of the woods as its landing zone, a not so empty clearing. Now that she focused she could tell the creature was similar to her own reduced power level. Shemha was always up for meeting others so the presence of another near her landing zone created zero hesitation as the Majin stepped towards the lower hatch.
A few moments later it opened with a hiss of hydraulics, touching down in the grass of the clearing. Booted footsteps rang out on the metal ramp as she strolled out, eyes ahead and on the stranger who had been trying to relax in the otherwise peaceful forest. An Acrosian…a female one, that alone was a site rarely seen in her lifetime. She seemed a bit on edge, but that was understandable considering a ship had just dropped from the sky with little warning.
”Hello, I hope I have not disturbed you.” A small smile accompanied her words in her best attempt to be polite. When she considered the relative silence and seclusion her landing zone must have offered, she really couldn’t be sure what the female was doing out here. Regardless of what it was though, a ship landing so close must have disrupted it.

A pink creature left the pod; seemingly feminine in nature. Polara had never seen a Majin before; and as such didn't know really what to say. The being was strange to her, and the Arcosianess dare not trust the new person. Something seemed off; as if there was some aspect of her in terms of energy that was hidden away. While the Majin woman had been on the ship, the ki she bore had suddenly been drastically cut. Either her senses were messing with her, or the other female was suppressing her ki in one way or another. The outfit she wore was rather expository at first glance yet the lizard said nothing about it.
"Greetings.. You have disturbed not only me, but the nature in this clearing as well. Might I ask your name, and what you might be doing landing a ship in the middle of a forest clearing; and what are you?" Her voice was businesslike and blank, lips tight after she finished speaking. This bubblegum-like creature made her curious to know the last part more than the rest, any information was rather good information on her eyes. Eyeing the ship; it seemed rather expensive and luxurious compared to her ship which got the job it needed to done, and was fast about its travels thanks to her speed upgrade she had installed.

The response she received did not cast her in the best light, a disturber of the peace if you would. Such a thing really hadn’t been her intention. Perhaps her automatic landing system could be upgraded to scan for life before touching down, to avoid such a situation in the future. To make amends the best she could, Shemha sought to answer each of the female’s questions in turn.
”You have every right to ask. My name is Shemha and although sudden, it is a pleasure to meet you.” A low bow followed the introduction, head dipping all the way until parallel with her waist, the tentacle atop her head bouncing some as she bent forward. After a slight pause at the bottom of her bow, the Majin would rise back up to her full height. ”As for why I landed here…that was my ships auto navigation system at work. I have to assume it saw this as the closest safe landing zone in relation to where I entered the atmosphere. Again, I do apologize for the intrusion. I will be recalibrating it in the future. As for what I am…I am a Majin…if that is what you mean?” Her head cocked to the side a little with that one, unsure if that is exactly what the female was referring to.
”May I ask similar questions, your name and what it is you are doing so far out in the wilderness. As far as I know there are no populated areas for miles.” The assessment was based on the stretch of trees she had seen when descending. Her tone remained calm and soft the entire time, no hint of anything but respectful within it. First impressions were everything and Shemha had not made a good one. She needed to change it.

Polara watched as Shemha bowed before her, seemingly having some manners for a bubblegum creature of some sort. As a return after she finished her speaking, the warrior in turn bowed in greeting. Whether proper or not, this being seemed to be well versed in formalities. Blaming the landing on her auto navigation of the ship, the bipedal lizard couldn't blame her considering autopilots could be quite stupid. "Pleasure to meet you as well. I do not blame you for your ship's artificial intelligence, however I may suggest you turn off autopilot as you begin to land and avoid these situations in the future. My name is Polara Thermia, general of the Arcosian Empire. I am merely relaxing in the wilderness until you appeared."
She had stood from her bow, looking at Shemha with carefully guarded eyes. She had no business asking her allegiance, but there was the opportunity to learn more from this. "Majin, hmm? Can you fill me in on what exactly you are, I think you, to be frank, look quite odd to me; but I have never heard of Majins before. It is nice to meet a new species, I hope to see more species of being I have yet to see. I hear there are Zoanthropes here; do you know what those are specifically?" The conversation so far was quite calm, despite the sudden beginning and the fact the miscolored lizard woman was still on her guard, faintly noticeable.

Her smile remained as Polara returned the respectful bow, introducing herself as well. The title attached to her name did have Shemha’s eyes growing a bit wide. Not part of the Acrosian Empire, she still respected those with high enough titles in other organizations. General was not a rank given out lightly and the amount of effort and dedication required to obtain it was commendable in most situations. Regardless of their difference in affiliations, Polara’s suggestion that she disengage autopilot in the future had an obedient nod of understanding coming from the Majin. It was best not to anger generals of foreign empires by landing your ship alongside them as they try to enjoy some rest and relaxation.
”I am afraid there isn’t much to say about me.” The Majin not normally one for talking about herself or her race, but she would fulfill the General’s request. ”In many ways I am similar to other humanoids, same senses and body shape, however, my body is far more durable than most. Resilient to physical attacks and Ki based ones, I have heard one of the most durable species in the Universe. From what little history is available, we are all magical in some way…if you believe that sort of thing.” Most of it had not been officially confirmed and to her it mattered little.”As for Zoanthropes…I believe they are humanoid beasts, correct? I apologize, but my experience with them is limited. Might I ask why the General of the Arcosian Empire is relaxing in the forest, is this area safe?” Part of her wondered if there was something about. Dedicated to her work and service to others, she rarely spent time relaxing, it just wasn’t in her nature, especially on her own. On rare occasions others did pull her into such situations.
The entire time she spoke, Shemha made sure to keep her stance neutral. Polara’s body language hinted that she was still a little tense. One of the last things that the Majin wanted to do was give off the wrong sign or vibe, angering a general did not seem like a wise decision. Besides, she was supposed to be flying under the radar.

Polara was not one to quickly get angry; usually a rather calm persona would be about the general. As Shemha finished speaking, the woman replied in turn to the magic bubblegum. "This area is safe, as there is not many around for miles. Any beasts I can take care of myself; and usually this is a humanoidless environment this deep into the woods." Something came to her mind, an image of a beast with a human body which caused her 'eyebrows' to raise in surprise; the lizard woman shaking her head to clear it of the rather odd image. Shemha seemed to be one of not much relaxation, and neither was the Arcosian general.
"Do you, by chance, not relax much? I might not relax as much as I like but I do find a little bit of time for some recreation. Mind you, I'm normally not on this planet but instead deep within Arcosian Empire territory. I will not say any more for confidentiality purposes; but I am here to recruit members into the empire. That is all I am at liberty to say, do not ask me anything more on these subjects." Her warning was clear, the scaled biped being rather firm on not giving too much away while still being open to others, albeit she'd quickly run if the Majin revealed her SSE allegiance.

Some might take the generals words as harsh or perhaps even a bit rude, but Shemha understood the tone well. Like her previous master, Polara was to the point with what she said. Likely attributed to her military service and the tank she held, there was no purpose to beating around the bush as they said. The Majin could respect that and would respect that. Again, no reason to push or anger someone she had just met.
”Of course, forgive me for asking too much. I did not mean to pry. As for my own relaxation patterns…no, I find I feel…useless if allow myself too much time to relax. Lack of activity loosens the body and dulls the mind, no? I am sure a General such as you could agree with that. That is not to say a day off here and there isn’t appropriate, but I find my days much better utilized accomplishing something of value. With a small shrug of her shoulders as if her point didn’t matter, Shemha looked around the clearing she had so recently deserve.
”Even with my lack of down time, I must admit this little spot you have found does possess its own charm. I do wonder why it exists though; such clearings don’t usually exist without a cause.” Again there was a small shrug of her slender shoulders, simply trying to make small talk with the female. As for her allegiance with the SSE, she would make no mention if it, it had no place here. While she would do her best to gather information, she was in fact, just Shemha for now, not a soldier.

Polara quirked a brow at the Majin, who seemed to be not all in favor of relaxing much. A day off was appropriate; only to her she relaxed when she could and spent most of the time working for Abzerute to better the Empire and the relations between Earth and Arcose. Shemha seemed to be a hard worker; a trait she approved of. "It seems you are a hard worker. Relaxation can be the exact opposite of what you say, actually. It can sharpen the mind and will, commonly known as meditation. Some have to do this in order to unlock their true potential."
Shemha mentioned the clearing, lightly curious and seemingly attempting to make small talk. The Arcosianess semi-accepted the clad Majin's small talk, replying back with a rather even tone. "Some clearings, like this, are naturally made by themselves. It depends on the forces of nature around it, and the part of the ground it happens to grow in with help from the animal life forms." A beautiful bird landed atop the female's shoulder, to which she blinked softly. This bird was golden, with black plumage.

Shemha silently admitted the Polara was correct, a small slow nod of her head to show that she agreed. This Arcosian General most definitely earned her rank, through power and intelligence. Meditation was never something she had heard the Saiyan Captains or Generals speak of. For them combat was more physical, honing one’s body to the utmost perfection as to be the perfect weapon in combat. Thankfully Shemha was making a point to not mention she was SSE, the female across from her having a rather dark history with the Saiyan Empire. For now they were just strangers meeting in a forest, not enemies.
”You make a valid point, Polara. I suppose the body is limited if the mind is weak or not at ease. That only makes me feel worse for interrupting your time in seclusion.” As for the clearing she wasn’t so sure it was natural, but saw no reason to argue the point.
When the bird landed upon the Arcosian, Shemha had to smile. To think the creature so comfortable with the large humanoid, Polara must have truly been at peace in this clearing. She was the factor that was unwelcomed here.
”It seems you have a connection to this place Polara…allow me to remove myself with it; I did not come to Earth to disturb those on it. It was a pleasure to meet you though; perhaps we can talk again under a more appropriate setting.” With that she offered a polite, honest smile to the other female, prepared to take her leave if unless Polara looked to further the encounter. Shemha had trespassed so it was only reasonable that she be the one to take her leave.
