Treylech shot awake. The room was spinning. He was disoriented for some reason. He couldn’t tell where he was or why was he there. It took him a moment to fully grasp reality. He blinked and gasped as he tried to regain regular breathing.
He was in the hospital. Or at least that’s where it looked like. He wasn’t really sure. He had only ever been in the hospital to visit his mother when she was still alive. His eyes finally adjusted and fell upon a woman in white. A nurse. She smiled at Treylech, happy to see him doing well.
No. This couldn't be right. He couldn't have been hospitalized. How? Why? He rolled off the side of the bed, but his knees buckled under his weight. The nurse rushed to his side. ”Sir, you shouldn't be trying to get up. You've been in a coma.”
Treylech shoves her away. Even weakened from his coma, she flew back into the wall and crumpled to the floor, unconscious.
”Tch.” He didn't mean to hurt her, but she got in the way. He went to step out the door, but a doctor stepped in his path.
”Whoa, now. You shouldn’t be walking around just yet.”
Treylech ignored him and stepped back into the room. He heard a shout of surprise as the doctor saw the nurse. Too much hassle now. He had to get away from the hospital as soon as possible. He opened the window and jumped. He tried to take to the sky, but his body wasn’t ready.
He took a tumble and slammed into the ground. As he hit, he buckled. He grunted in pain. If he had been like every other human, the fall would have done a lot more damage to him. He checked over his shoulder to figure out how far he fell.
Four? No. Five stories. He was grateful for his training now. He shrugged off the pain and started to walk. He needed to think. What did he remember last?
Training.
That’s right. He was training for a new move and put almost his entire being into it. A mistake, clearly. He would have to scrap that move. He couldn’t die like that. He needed to get back to training, though. He didn’t have a gravity chamber. He wasn’t even certain if Raisin was even around anymore. He couldn’t live in someone else’s home anymore. He was homeless again.
Back to thievery. Maybe he could hit a few high end places now that he had the power behind him?
No. Bing wouldn’t approve. The Z-fighter were his family now. He would have to find them. Maybe one of them would help him get back on his feet.
He got distracted from his train of thought by the sound of sirens. Apparently the news had gotten out that he had knocked out a nurse and jumped from the fifth story window. He started pushing himself. He started running down the street as a cop car rounded the corner.
He jumped over the car and kept running, ignoring them. He wasn’t looking for more trouble. He finally got everything to work together and took to the skies. He would have to do some training. He couldn’t stand how weak he felt, especially now. He would have to push his body to its limits again until he knew his absolute maximum strength.
He ascended higher into the sky. The lack of clouds made it easy to gain altitude while maintaining a constant eye on the ground. It let him scan for some other place to train. He just wished he could get someone to train with him. That would be his next goal.
A place of residence could wait. The streets were home enough. He could get money easy enough if he really tried to anyways. It wasn’t too difficult, considering the amount of odd jobs scattered about the city. He started flying again. He didn’t have a destination in mind. He just kept going. He would find his way back into his rhythm easy enough.
Treylech had lost his bearings. It was unbelievably cold. He expelled energy to increase his body heat. He would have to find a way out of the cold. He stopped moving and threw on his cloak from his backpack. It wasn’t much but it would help.
He was grateful he had stopped at Raisu’s place before he proceeded to be homeless again. The hospital gown would have left him with an uncomfortable breeze. He sighed to himself. ”Maybe I should have found a place to life before wandering. I don't have anywhere to go. I hope Presto is okay…”
