{Thread PL 25,980, Heavy Weights Equipped}
The mountains where not her home as she preferred the concrete jungle or the sulfurous smells of the battlefield over the cool crisp air of the Mount where he mother lived. IT had been several months since the last time they had spoke as Aina had to live her life and she did not like to be a bother onto her mother. Though despite that she had been receiving care packages from Mimikku once she had found out which base of the BBA Aina was based from. So she was on her way up the mountain path she had found at the base as per her mothers instructions.
The quiet path was something new for her as the last time she had been on a trail like this she ahad been getting shot at by both conventional and ki based weapons. So this time as she walked along Aina was flipping a dagger in the air in front of her. Catching it between her fore finger and thumb with every flip made her smile. Such simple practicing methods for her worked absolute wonders for her to remain without becoming stressed. Reaching a bend in the path she noticed a cabin just off the beaten path about a couple hundred yards or so from the path. Looking at the place she began to walk in toward it as she knew this had to be her mothers place. As it was as she had described it within her letters.
Walking across the green grass her boots made light crunching noises as she walked along. Stopping at the front door she would knock on it the pommel of the knife she held within her fingers before she slipped it back and to a sheath underneath her left breast. Taking a few steps away from the door she spoke up loudly. “Hey mom you wanted me to stop by. I sure hope to the Kami that you are not sleeping right now… “
She would begin to walk around the house and checking the windows as if expecting to find her mother somewhere within the structure.

Thread PL: 108,906 | Ki suppressed to 1 -- The mountain looked the same as the last time she set her gaze to it, it wasn’t the mountain that had changed. As Kay-El Coliflo landed amidst the rock and trees she watched as her bright, hot pink pod with black detailing shrunk to fit into a small, matching colored capsule. The Pink Lady was a great ship and Kay felt proud to own such a wonderful vessel. Her father used to teach her about ships since he liked to repair and mess with them as a hobby. If they weren’t out exploring land or sea, they were out in his shed fixing up some old clunker or doing repairs for a friend on their ship. He’d taught her what he could in the time they had together and she intended to learn more, and what knowledge he had passed on allowed her to know exactly what she was buying and that it was worth every Zeni. Heading down towards the cabin she spent so many hours upon hours training at with Mimikku, being there without Nana felt strange, but not a bad kind of strange or weird. As she got closer she noticed an adult, younger than Nana but older than Pin, and this girl also seemed to be looking for someone. Maybe Mimikku? Or was this lady just snooping? “Hi!” she said, walking over to her. Aina

Aina had been circling the home for about fifteen minutes when she could of swore she heard a pod descending from the sky somewhere nearby the house. Raising her head she glanced around and a hand went to rest on the hilt of one of her daggers. As she did not know if her mother had a ship, but she would take no chances with a possible saiyan ambush. Holding her fingers on the hilt of the blade as she slipped out of sight as she could of swore whoever it was had saw her. When the voice spoke out she knew she had been caught. So much for sneaking up to visit her mother yet the voice seemed younger than her mother’s. Turning her head toward the noise she noticed the small girl and pulled her hand down and away from the obvious knife on her chest.
Raising a hand in greeting Aina gave a shielding smile to her. “Hello. Would you happen to know where the person that owns this house got off to? I came up here to speak with them about something. So if there was any chance you could know it would help immensely.” Turning ever so slightly Kay would see the emblazoned emblem of the Blue Banner Army upon the arm of the obvious soldier that stood there in front of her.
Shifting her weight she would wait for Kay’s response to what she had spoken before chiming up once more. “Where are my manners. I am Lieutenant Aina. It is a pleasure to meet you.”

For a moment she lost sight of the white-haired girl and frowned, turning when the woman spoke, dark eyes watching as one hand moved away from what was obviously a blade hidden in the… uniform? Her tail twitched a little nervously behind her but only for a second, she hadn’t brought any weapons - then again, she sort of was a weapon, right? Certain songs she tended to use over others, being more in the camp of ‘disabling’ the enemy rather than outright killing them if given the chance. So far, she’d only killed in self defense, even when faced with her archenemy she couldn’t kill the woman, something she wasn’t too proud of.
No, Kay-El tended to go for the stun when possible and if that made her ‘weak,’ so be it, then.
“Are you referring to Mimikku?” she asked, gesturing towards the house when the stranger asked about the ‘person who owned the house.’ “I’ve come to see her, too, is she not here?” Looking over at the cabin again, Kay let out a sigh, shoulders slumping just a little. “I wanted to ask her…” she stopped herself, not wanting to say anything more in front of a stranger, especially since she was part of the army. The Blue Banner Army scared her just a little because it seemed most people on Earth didn’t like Saiyans or demons and being half of each, she’d gotten her fair amount of hatred in both directions. “It’s not important. I can come back another time -”
When the white haired woman introduced herself, however, the name flashed through her memory from the time Mimikku mentioned it. “Wait, you’re her daughter, right? She was my teacher last time I was on Earth.” It hadn’t been that long ago, a little over a month now, but to a child that went through what she had since it could feel like a lifetime. “I’m Kay-El,” she held out a hand, hoping Aina had her mother’s patience and generous, accepting, caring nature. Although, being part of the army, Kay’s hopes weren’t held too high.

“Yes I am referring to Mimikku. She invited me up here sometime ago and I just now managed to get away from duty and she is not here. Seems she has not been gone long though as I can see that her blade was left inside the house. So that means she is to return.” Aina relaxed a little more as the girl seemed to know her mother so maybe things would not be so bad. After her introduction it seemed that a flash occurred within the child’s mind and she noticed it. Her suspicion was quickly confirmed as she heard her speak out asking her a question then stating that her mother had been teaching her. A faint smirk crossed the side of Aina’s mouth.
Moving over she took a seat on a stump just beside the house. “Yea Mimikku is my mother. Only found that out about six months ago. Between her and the voice inside my head it was hard to think and operate as I had once done. So I had to take some leave and sort things out. But you said you where her student? That is interesting as she never struck me as someone who would want to teach anyone. Because we both have the same line of work. A line of work where we normally would not teach anyone anything.”
Raising her head she brought her blood red eyed gaze onto Kay. Reaching forward after removing her hand from the gloves she had on she shook Kay’s hand. The hand was calloused on the palms as one would expect from a soldier like Aina. “It is a pleasure Kay. You say you trained with my mother. Can I ask what all she trained you about?” Aina was genuinely curious as Aina had asked to receive training in some of the darker sides of the knowledge within Mimikku’s mind. She had been told not to bother with it but she now wondered if her mother had changed her stance.

“ Perhaps she went out to gather food,” Kay said softly, almost absentmindedly as if speaking her thoughts aloud the way children do. That Mimikku left her blade did speak volumes that she probably didn’t go far, and Kay’s mind wandered to the nearby river, recalling the last time she’d been in the area and jumped over those very rocks for the fun of it. Oh, how she’d struggled that first time, on her first day of training with the Kagami woman. When Aina confirmed her suspicions, Kay-El smiled, glad that this woman was who she thought she was. Recalling how Mimikku said she met her daughter and it had been a… recent development, Aina’s further explanation only served to hammer home that she told the truth. “ I’m sure the voice thing must have thrown you for a loop for sure,” she said, thinking she wouldn’t really want anyone else inside her head with her, sharing her thoughts and emotions and, well, whole life. Everything she was would be divided, how did that work, really? She didn’t question it, though, not out loud. Her eyes widened in surprise when Aina mentioned ‘work’ and Mimikku. “ Wait, your mother’s in the army, too?” she asked, clearly a bit surprised and confused. Or had Aina meant the assassination thing? If so, she wasn’t too good at keeping it a secret and didn’t assassins work in, well, secret? Either way, it was still something Kay-El wanted to learn and she’d hoped maybe Mimikku would take her on as a student again but alas, the Kagami wasn’t here. She shook Aina’s hand, regardless, and did so happily. Her own grip was firm as she didn’t want Aina thinking her weak or anything like that, but it wasn’t too firm or awkward and she didn’t linger overlong in the contact. “ At first she said she didn’t want to teach but it all worked out in the end. She taught me to control my Ki… and tried to teach me Ki Sense, but I’m hopeless at that, it seems.” Even though her tone implied she was alright with not learning it, it bothered her deep down that she never could quite get a handle on it. When Mimikku told her she couldn’t teach her Telepathy, Kay-El had been disappointed but through sheer determination she managed to learn it herself. Why couldn’t she strongarm her way through Ki Sense as well? Nana thought it was her attention deficit disorder, or maybe it just didn’t suit her distractible and forceful personality - either way, it irked Kay-El she couldn’t master it. Even so, she had a scouter, even if it decided to break more often than it worked. Aina

“That does sound like something she would go and do. IF she had an inclination I would be coming then she would of gone out to gather us some fish to eat. Seeing as how we cannot stomach anything heavier than fish or chicken.” Shrugging to herself as she looked over the demoness. The wings where something of a dead give away that she was not of the planet but Aina did not mind. Earth was something of a refuge for so many different races and people. It was her duty to at least protect everyone her own personal feelings be damned.
Aina nodded to Kay when she mentioned that the voice in her head had thrown her for a loop. Letting out a slight chuckle of admission as she spoke. “Let me just say that I thought I was borderline insane for the longest of times. Til mother and her friend came and showed me what it was that I missed. Emer gave me the ability to speak with my goddess through a ritual that I can safely say hurt like hell. Imagine being dropped into water hot enough to be painful but not hot enough to kill you and then have that feeling have to linger on your body for a few hours. That’s about how it felt…”
Aina was obviously no nonsense as she spoke about the pain she grabbed one of her daggers and flipped it around and began to clean her fingernails with the tip of the blade. When the next question came out she shook her head. “I doubt it. She was a member of the Royal Elite of the Saiyan Empire back before I was born. Heard they tried to kill her and me at the same time. Bastards deserved a quicker death then the one I heard the Queen had given them when she took over… As for what I do it is simple… I solve problems. Someone has an issue with slavers or other people of their ilk. I make them vanish.”
Her tone was serious as she looked at Kay with a little bit of a smirk as if saying. :: I hope I never have to see you or someone you care for in one of those positions. :: As Kay spoke about what her mother was teaching her Aina nodded. “Well consider that a further lesson then what I got. She hides from her past even though it is what helps her live today. When I say this trust me on it. You never want to be on the receiving end of that sword of hers. I have heard what she has done with it to people. Let me just say I have heard of faster ways to pass on to the Afterlife.”
The mention about the Ki Sensing made her shake her head once more. Mimikku not telling her student about that ability because the student was unwilling to learn it was something new to her ears. “Well you will learn it someday. Til then just gotta keep our scouters handy.”

It did indeed sound like something her teacher would do, she agreed, and she hoped that was all it was. Things on Earth were relatively peaceful at the moment. Even so, living out here all alone posed its dangers, but for someone of Mimikku’s caliber, Kay-El severely doubted there wasn’t anything up here the Kagami couldn’t handle. She knew about the food restrictions but due to Aina’s apparent hybrid nature, Kay-El never assumed her body was constrained to the same rules. Being a hybrid, herself, she knew there were things that set one apart from the races you came from and that those differences could mean you never quite fit in with either, if you even got a chance to meet one half at all. As Aina spoke of her confusion, Kay-El’s imagination ran wild as she thought about what it would be like to have that kind of experience and she wondered if Aina thought it was worth it. Also, like Mimikku’s other person was named Lilith, what was Aina’s name? Could she come out on her own and take over like Lilith could? She didn’t have to feign the fear as a chill ran down her spine at Aina’s description of how everything felt, or the one that came over her at that look that made her think of a shark waiting to strike. Sure, if you left each other alone everything would be fine and dandy, but one wrong mood and you were lunch or dinner. “ I make people vanish, too,” she said softly. The organization she was part of, her brother’s organization, would help out in almost any fight for the right price. As a mercenary group, The White List was open for contracts pretty much always, and since they were a new group, still, it meant they still had to make a name for themselves. Much like herself, the child didn’t quite feel she fit in in very many places in the world. “ Sometimes hiding from your past is easier than facing it - maybe she’s not ready yet,” she added thoughtfully. Despite their age gap, Kay-El felt if they didn’t get on each other’s bad sides, she and Aina could get along just fine. Pulling out her own scouter she frowned down at it. “ This thing is the worst,” she joked. “ The first time I brought it out with me it got busted by someone really strong showing up and hasn’t worked right ever since…” With a shrug, she left it at that, not wanting to get into details, not really. “ I should probably just get a new one but… I kind of like this one. Probably just being stubborn about it.” Aina

“You do? Well then I think that appearances can be deceiving. Though I feel as you age as I have then you will most certainly setting the appearance of someone that would have that look about her. With the wings and everything.” Aina was smirking as she spoke as she could only assume what the young girl in front of her could look like in a few years. If Aina had to guess she might be able to have a staunch ally inside of her own thoughts in the future should she play her cards right with her. This was certainly something that she was thinking about.
Aina nodded in agreement when Kay spoke about hiding her past was easier than facing it. Taking in a breath she let it go with an obvious sigh from her lips. “That is true Kay. Many from the streets like myself never really left them because they became afraid of what they had to do to survive. Instead of just embracing whatever it was that they had to do in order to survive. I am no angel Kay. Far from it as I can say I have done a lot to scrape by.”
She was not bragging by any means as her tone was easier to understand. It was a tone of someone that had seen and done enough. Lifting her gaze she noticed the scouter being pulled from Kay’s pocket. Extending her hand toward Kay as she spoke about the device being on the fritz. With her other hand she pressed a small button on the earpiece she had and it expanded out into a obvious scouter over her left eye. With a smile she would press the button again and have it slip away. “Maybe I can assist you with that Kay? As I have had to fix my own scouter in the field a couple of times. So perhaps I can assist you in repairing it some?”
Despite the difference in their age and appearances it was obvious that Aina and Mimikku shared that spirit of wanting to just help others.

She didn’t really know what to say to that last part, not really thinking much about the future and instead focusing on the here and now. At Aina’s words she settled on a simple truth. “ Appearances can be deceiving.” Taking a deep breath she let it out slowly and released her Ki Suppression all at once. It felt good, right, like unclenching a fist held tight because if anything escaped then the world just might end. One finger of that imaginary hand unfurled at a time as her Power Level slowly rose. If she walked around like this it tended to draw more unwanted attention than she normally did which was still quite more than she wanted, so she kept herself hidden away inside this small form relying on people passing her by thinking her no different than any other child they had in their lives. Having run from her own past, Kay wasn’t one to throw stones, but Aina’s words rang true, nonetheless. Having initially spoken about Mimikku, perhaps the words held a broader nature that touched on people everywhere. No one found it easy to look their pasts in the eyes and say ‘ I’m going to be okay.’ People were resilient, children especially, and eventually they would all be relatively okay but the hard part was in getting there. “ Could you?” she asked curiously, settling on the ground and holding out her own device. “ It’d be great to know how to fix this stupid thing…” she said seriously. “ I think it hates me…” she added in an almost childish groan. “ I don’t really even know how to use it properly. I bought the thing, brought it with me somewhere and never even got to use it before it fritzed out and just died. I’m just glad it booted back up at all or I’d have returned it. It’s kinda useless…” Aina

Aina did not even show any sort of surprise as Kay released her held back ki. As if she had been expecting it to come out as she looked at her. “You could say that again. Would of picked you for something of a fighter. Just amazed that you are quite as talented as you are. So as you said. Appearances are quite deceiving.” Fidgetting inside of her seat she glanced toward Kay-El. She woucld now see why it was that her mother had taken the young girl as a student as she reminded her a lot of the stories she had within her mind of her mother when she was younger. The shared memories of herself, her mother and Emer where something she was not fully in control of. It was still disconcerting for her to try and keep them all right. Though her goddess helped with that immensely.
“You most certainly could draw a crowd with that strength young one. Are you so certain you wish to show Aina and me this strength so easily? Perhaps keeping it hidden and ready for the moment when It is needed most would have been more prudent of a tactic?” A second voice would come from Aina as she looked over Kay. Kay would see the distinct coloration of the blood red eyes toward a amethyst purple color as she looked directly at the young girl. Yet despite this momentary distraction it was obvious that Aina knew her things when it came to scouters when she began to work on the scouter with practiced hands.
”Scouters are fickle beasts. I can remember Aina here attempting her last two scouters before the one she has now. She literally took apart the first one four times and rebuilt it just as many times before it was shot off her face by a bullet from one of the targets she had in the past. Second one pretty much the same treatment and same ending except it was knocked off her head by a Saiyan during the saiyan invasion. Literally slapped off her head.” The second voice had not introduced herself and yet was already conversing quite easily and calmly with Kay.

With a shrug, Kay-El was about to respond to Aina when someone else began to speak through her. Having gotten more or less used to this with Mimikku, it didn’t bother Kay and she showed no outward signs of discomfort, as others might when seeing it for the first time. Even people who had seen it before might still find it strange or odd or different, because a lot of people feared what they didn’t understand., but Kay felt more able to appreciate the Kagami way now than she did before. If anything, the young might be impressionable, but they were more open-minded than most adults tended to be. Concentrating, she pulled her power back in, not liking how it felt to be so restrained and constricted. Like an itchy, pushy feeling as if her body were too small for her. “ I don’t believe you to be my enemy,” she said seriously, looking at Aina’s face with different eyes and voice. “ It’s nice to meet you, what’s your name?” she asked curiously, noting that she didn’t introduce herself nor did she seem particularly… polite. Perhaps the other person took after the original person more? Mimikku was polite and so was Lilith, Aina who was militaristic and probably more no-nonsense and to the point might have influenced the… goddess figure? “ Then again, by showing my power now as a tactical move perhaps it would deter either of you from wanting to test yourselves against me, or maybe I did it to engender trust.” Her own dark eyes were drawn to the way Aina worked with the scouter effortlessly and, Kay-El had to admit, she was impressed. -- Aina

“My name is Lhinith miss. It is a pleasure to meet you as you are someone that has met our mother. It is not usual to have someone that is used to the Kagami as even we are not all that used to this. I mean we have only been together like this for a few months.” Lhinith spoke softly and calmly while it seemed Aina was controlling the body as she had pulled out a whetstone and after dumping some water on it had begun to sharpen one of her knives without thinking about it. It seemed however that when Kay pulled her power back in she gave a wider smile than before.
Turning her gaze back down to the knife as she sharpened it. It would be a few moments before she would flip the knife up and throw it past Kay and into a tree about thirty yards from the pair. The knife would impact almost down to the hilt of the knife. A large smirk on her face as her eyes would drain in color until she was back to the red coloration that was her normal. “Excellent. Good to see the blade has not changed at all even though I think its sharper as my ki grows in strength. But I think we called it a tactical move because so many have done that as a bluff in the past yet I feel that you are not doing that. You seem too kind to be doing that. Though I have to ask I am interested inside of this little group of mercenaries you mentioned. As I would love to hear about a group that could do things not constrained by the stringent rules of the military.”
