Gravity 1/2 -- Back on Vegeta but not intending to stay long, Kay-El promised Nana she’d check in with her, personally, at least once a week. Today appeared to be that day. One day back on Namek, or that’s what she promised, and the two met in the Gravity Chamber to get in some training while they just existed in each other's company for a while. That space road trip had been the longest the two spent apart since Kay-El was born and it felt strange, to say the least, but wasn’t wholly unwelcome.
As they stepped in and set it to eighty times normal, Kay hit the button for a random simulation wanting nothing more than the hit something hard enough to make them wish they’d never existed. True, they didn’t really exist, she supposed, or maybe they were based on real people who would never know of the pain she inflicted upon their finely pixelated data cells. Either way, it would feel good to fight something and get that energy out of her system.
As they both flattened to the ground, she felt out of practice and pushed up and up against the false gravity weighing her down. Webbed fingers splayed, the simulation began before she was really ready for it and she barely managed to dodge a laser-like blast a random Arcosian sent her way. Nana got hit and let out a grunt that made Key lose focus and look her at her Nanny, the woman who was more mother to her in truth than any other had ever been in name. “Kay-El, watch out!” She looked over as a jet of flame headed her way and moved, watching it hit the ground where her head previously lay.
For a few precious moments the struggle to move was real and then she rolled again, dodging yet another attack, webbed fingers splayed and pushing against the ground to get up, up, just get up, dammit! And then she broke free, jumping up, wings catching the air as she hovered for a few precious seconds before falling back to her feet. But at least she was standing now which Kay-El took to be an improvement, to say the least.
Three Arcosians faced off against the pair as they found their footing at last in the chamber that currently looked like one of many arid, dry, vast expanses of desert to be found on Vegeta. What made this particular patch any different than any other? Oh, well, it had Arcosians in it, she supposed, and was worth defending from the enemy, to be sure. Deciding to divide and conquer, Kay-El took Arco on the let while Nana went right. Bringing her hands up to her head she touched two fingers of each to her temples and began to sing, it wasn’t long before Left Arco crumpled to the ground, defeated. Nana seemed to disable her foe, too, and the two turned to work together in bringing down Arco in the middle.
Despite their time apart, the two worked like a well oiled machine in bringing down this third ‘threat,’ if it could even be called that. Maybe for next time she’d amp up the danger levels. It seemed she’d grown up a bit since her last bout in the chamber. Even if she didn’t actually get stronger, she felt stronger mentally and emotionally. Like a more sane, determined, stable version of herself, she brought her a game today and it showed.
