Time to Go
Cado would spend the next few day messing around on the ship he found. Everything he could possibly find to go through looked like it was good to go. He mostly spent the time, cleaning all the sand out of the wiring, and controls.
He went to the city a few time to gather supplies to help at least make the machine flyable. Fuel, and battery to get the ignition system to work was the main priority. Once he had that all completed he stood there and looked at the ship.
“Man, I hope this works, or its going to be a short ride.”
Cado climbed into it and turned on the controls. The small screen on the monitor in front of him lights up and comes to life at the push of a button.
“Dang, we now know what that button does, guess we need more guesses”
He pushed a few more buttons as thing would highlight on the screen. He couldn’t quite understand the language this ship was written in. So the only thing he decided he could do was select the last set of what looked to be coordinates.
He climbed out and gave his home one final look over. He left a note on the table incase his friends ever came to look for him. He figured if he told them, or went to tell them so long, they would try to stop him from leaving. He didn’t want to do that. He took a few valuables he wanted to keep and headed back out to the ship.
Climbing back in, he set the few things behind his seat in a bag. He pressed a button that closed the hatch. He strapped himself in and pressed the ignition button. The ship hummed to life and lifted off the ground. Soon after it launched into space .
The force of the ship pulled him back into the seat. He strained for a moment, till he got out of Konats gravity and was floating in space. He could look back and see the planet getting smaller and smaller.
He felt a bit sadness leaving his home. It was the only place he ever knew. What was he about to head out into the universe and find, he didn’t know. He just knew he had to expand his horizons. Nothing was left for him on Konats.
