IT had been a week since the tournament. Her body had ached fordays after the exertion of that day and the training a few dayslater. This time she had made certain to make sure she was at her full potential when she left the city and headed toward the closest Turtle School. It took her a few hours to find a rather nice looking dojo where she could hear people training within. A wicked smirk crossed her face as she entered the courtyard and set down her pack. She began watching all of the students as theywhere sparring around the courtyard near her. Seeing a strike land she spoke up at the one who had been hit.
“Raise your elbow just a little. It will help you block that next time.”
The student blinked at the strange woman who had given him advice but he did as he said and as his sparring partner came back in for the same strike he managed to block it. Afterhe did that he stopped the spar to turn around and bow to Ninjin. She gave the student a respectful bow and smile as she sensedout for the strongest students. There was a group of three of them not sparring instead they were sitting there watching the obviously novice students spar. Though one had noticed Ninjin as her bright red and black Gi stood out amongst the field of pale yellow, pale blue, and white robes. She did not back down as the weakest of the three approached her. As he approached he gave the Turtle Schools welcome to a stranger. Luckily for her she remembered what to do and mimicked his movements then added the noteas to what her rank had been with only a few subtle movements. The teacher smiled at her and opened his mouth.
“Pleasure to meet you Sister. You signified that you are now an outsider and you know that we while friendly to all former studentswill have to test you before you can seek sanctuary here for the evening. A simple spar between you and myself and then the other teachers sound fair enough for you?”
Nodding to him Ninjin smiled. Her intentions here was both the sanctuary that hespoke of as it would be a hot meal, bath, and soft bed to sleepin. Her other motivation was she wanted a good fight and her former school always had given her the greatest of fights in her preferred method of fighting. Speaking up as her mind cleared in response.
“I understand and I remember the rules of the dojo’s. I will gladly spar with you all. Such a thing is good sport is it not? Just as meeting a fellow student on the road and having a good spar then sharing a drink is a great custom.”
The teacher let out a laugh of approval as the students cleared off the main platform. The stage was designed like the Budokai Arena. As he turned and began the walk up Ninjin glanced around and the student she had helped was carrying her bag behind them and set it at the side of the ring, and while he did that she saw several students run off toward the kitchen area which made her smile. That had to be the one custom she always loved. When someone came to seek sanctuary and they where found worthy the entire dojo would enjoy a night of feasting. Though she had her attention brought back to the present by the man before her cracking his knuckles. Giving him a smirk she watched as the other man and female teachers jump down and begin speaking.
“The rules of this spar are as if it was the just passed Tenkaichi Budokai. Being knocked unconscious, Being knocked down for a ten count, or being knocked from the ring mean spar over. In order for you to gain sanctuary for the evening you will have to defeat at least one of us Sister. Do these rules seem fair to you? IF they do recite your name and then we shall get this spar started.”
“I Ninjin Nedrag find the rules of engagement to be fair. I look forward to this chance to prove myself to the Teachers and Students of this dojo.”
Ninjin did not hesitate as she recited the oath and then move to the mark on the ground to signify where the challenger was to stand. Once there she stood in her unique stance which instantly drew a comment from some of those around the ring. “She is aformer Turtle yet has such an odd stance… She must be self taught after leaving the school.” She smirked as she heard the wordsspoken about her from the outside of the ring. The one that hadgreeted her walked over onto the other starting marker and gaveher a bow which she returned. A feminine voice echoed out to signal the start of the fight as soon as the pair where both standing back straight up in their stances.
Within moments he was upon her swinging in a flurry of punches. Raising her arm she beganto deflect the intense flurry til she saw a slight opening in his strikes and dove at it and caught him with a quick jab on thejaw which caused him to back off and wipe his jaw.
“Good strike… Again.”
Speaking just before diving back made Ninjin smirk. Someone who was confident in their ability was the best to be fighting against. Coming back in they exchanged a brilliant display of punches and counter punches which lastedclose to five minutes before Ninjin pressed forward and caught him with a straight punch to the gut which caused him to double over, but she did not stop as she spun on her heel and caught him with a spinning heel kick which sent him flying out of the ring.
Several of the students there rushed to his aid as the other two teachers smiled at her. As the students made sure the first teacher was alright Ninjin wiped off the smattering of blood off onto a small piece of cloth she carried as the second male cameinto the fighting arena. He also walked to the same spot as before and awaited Ninjin to return and do the same.
This battle was much more intense as he was much more skilled than she had anticipated. Several of his punches landed on Ninjin which sent her flying toward the edge but using her ki she floated in the air as she skidded out of the ring. Letting out a breath of relief that she had not lost she pressed the fight back toward him. As her sudden flight had caught him just a little off guard as the woman stood there watching enjoying the fight. As Ninjin landed back in the ring she started off catching the man with a sweep of her leg and a quick elbow to his gut. The man was a little slow to get up but he pressed back his attack but Ninjin caught him with a grapple and hip tossed him to the ground and with a quick strike knocking him unconscious.
Ninjin was breathing heavily as the first teacher came back to assist the students in removing the second man and the female teacher entered the ring. She was looking at her through a partially closed eye as the female spoke up.
“Well I must admit you are the first to defeat both of the men. Most make it barely past our third let alone beat the second. But now you will fight me Ms. Ninjin. I am the first student and the pride of this dojo. I suggest you do not hold anything back from me.”
“Well I guess I did go a little easy on the men. Saving my ki to fight with you as I feel that you where far beyond those two. So my raven haired beauty shall we get this fight going?”
Ninjin’s competitor laughed loudly at her compliment and she smiled at her as she got into her stance. Then they both burst from their starting positions their ki almost evenly matched as they swung fists and kicks at one another at a faster rate than either of the men could of. The pair connected time after time against one another slowly showing the rigors of the battle as the pair landed on the ground after their most recent bout they both stumbled and looked at one another with a look of fun in their eyes. Raising her hand Ninjin went into her preliminary stance for her Wolf Fang Fist. Her competitor smiled as she mimicked the stance almost perfectly. Ninjin smirked as she pushed herself forward and struck.
“Wolf Fang Fist…”
A howl erupted as she attacked her raven headed opponent. Her opponent though was skilled so she managed to block bits and pieces of the attack. Which allowed her to counter attack in a few instances but Ninjin did not stop til she finished the technique which sent the two women flying out both sides of the ring hitting the ground at the same time. The students hurried over to look over the pairwho both slowly sat up laughing. After a minute and with some help Ninjin was back within the ring with her opponent standing there.
“Hard to imagine I would find a human so much like myself. Lets call this a draw there miss?”
Extending her hand in friendship the human smirked and shook it with a strong grip.
“Amalia. And I was lying as thosetwo are the teachers… I am the master of this dojo. You fought well. Come let us regain our strength with a feast and drink.”
Giving the other woman a smile and nod she followed her toward the kitchen and enjoyed the massive feast and drinks that where provided for her and the others that evening.
