description
Tao stands 177cm tall and weighs 66kg. He has a blonde hair that extends just below his chin. His eyes are hazel-green colored. He has white skin. His most noticeable feature is a scar that goes from right beside his right, passing right above his nose bridge and down to his left cheek. It extends through his left side, covering neck, chest and shoulder. If one can ignore his deformity, Tao can be considered a handsome guy. He also doesn't fit in the classical super bulky martial artist stereotype, showing off a slimmer, defined build.
personality
Tao is rather introverted and generally bears a serious countenance that makes him pass as unsympathetic upon first meeting. In actuality, Tao is a very friendly person. He is just a little bit absent-minded and timid by nature. He is also a perfectionist, an almost paradoxical trait that contrasts greatly with his laid back personality; he has a hard time focusing on things, but when he starts something, he will give his best. Tao was diagnosed as having hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder as a kid.
{ POWERS AND ABILITIES }
intense struggle
transformation
Tao unleashes his inner power, getting a wide glowing aura around his body. There is but a minor inrease in his muscle mass, where they appear to be a bit more defined. His power level goes up four times (x4) during this state, which can only be unlocked during great emotional strain. Once he attain a power level of 20.000, he will be able to control this form at will.

introduction
Tao Lung was born in March 3rd, age 2781 to Kuwa(mother) and Kurin(father), on Ginger Town, Western Frontier. He also has a sister named Pat. Like any kid, Tao lived a mostly regular live. When he was about 6 years old, his parents though it would be a good idea to have him practice a martial art. Tao was a very agitated kid and maybe burning up all that energy with a healthy exercise would help him be calmer and focused in his tasks. Tao started at Taekwondo. He would train a couple of times every week after school, a routine that didn't last too long, unfortunately. Tao was never one to finish what he started... or to stick with anything for too long. The one thing he managed to keep up with until the end was his studies, until he graduated from highschool, but that is a topic for the paragraph ahead. Tao went later through swimming, soccer, Judo, Karate and Muay Thai, never sticking with any of those as well.
Tao grew up to become a timid teenager, much different from the loud kid he were during his early years. Skinny, introverted, and with delicate features that kind of make him look like a girl, he wasn't very popular with the girls in the school, who were all mainly under the spell of the athletes, like most girls at this age are; Tao was just another of the geeks of his school. He stood away from any physical activities for most of his teenhood, but never lost his interest for martial arts. He was just too lazy to get back at practicing them. By the time he was 16, at the end of that academic year, he made a vow to change his sedentary lifestyle. He would graduate the next year from high school and he promised himself he would led his life to a complete overhaul. And he did, indeed. During that summer vacation, Tao got into a gym and began working out. He got back to swimming. And he also got back at practicing martial arts, though in an unorthodox way. That year, he started reading the "Groundbreaking Science" book, written by author Son Gohan almost two thousand years ago. Though indeed an old piece, the scientific and philosophic concepts brought by Gohan remained untouched on the generations to come. Tao became really interested on this whole idea of being able to control the energy of his body to superhuman levels, like the folkloric heroes from the yesteryears. And thus, he started practicing... but own his own. Every single day of his summer break Tao would stick to his activities, only stopping on the sunday to let his body rest. Amazingly enough, this one time he managed to stick with the plan until the end. But only because he had an objective.
The motive to this whole metamorphosis was very simple. Chicks. The prom was next year and he certainly didn't want to go alone. He knew he couldn't compete with the jocks, so if he wanted a date, he would need to become an athlete himself. That's the conclusion that thinking with the wrong head led him to. And indeed, when he came back from summer vacation, he was very different from the boy that left this same school last year. He didn't look like he was about to break in half at any moment anymore. He changed his hair, his clothes, his posture... and he also got a job as a cook's assistant in order to raise money to buy a motorcycle; another desperate attempt at looking cool. However, his plan didn't go as well as he expected. Even though he is new look had an impact on his colleagues, in the end to many he would simply evolve from geek, to geek trying to get attention. That opinion seemed to be prevalent specially between the so said popular ones. So they plotted a special prank for him. There was going to be a huge party for Tao's class at the class's representative's house starting around afternoon and going all day long, since the next day was a friday and it was going to be the last holiday in a long time. You can only imagine what waited for the poor Tao.
Because of the party on the next day, Tao asked his boss to have the morning shift, which he wouldn't normally take due to being at school around that time. First he would wake up early in the morning and head to school. Not for classes if, you ask as it was a holiday... Tao used to get in the school as early as it would open so he could go in the gym and enjoy the silence to practice his martial arts and ki focusing without being interrupted. The gym also had weights, a rope, a tatami and other props he could use for his training. Since he was a good student and had a good relationship with the principal, teachers and the general staff, he was allowed to use it. He needed to train that early, because since he normally worked right after his classes (with only time to take a shower and have lunch) and would obviously too tired to do it after his shift was over. Since it would be a holiday in the next day and he wouldn't be able to train in the gym during the weekend, he was allowed to open the gym if he wanted in the morning and train as much as he needed, before he went to work. All he would have to do was to leave the door rested against and leave the key in the lock inside, since there would be people from the maintenance coming later in the morning. Tao didn't want to skip a day without training,because he believed he was very close to be able to manifest his ki. Then, after he was done with the school, it was a matter of opening the restaurant and waiting for his shift to end so he could go to the party and enjoy the most out of it.
Later on that day Tao was found unconscious in front of his school. It looked like he ran for a while before passing out. He had burn marks on his body, most notably on the left side of his face, neck and shoulder where the burns were as severe as third degree bruns, as if he had the reflex to protect himself from whatever it was that hit him. He was taken to the hospital and treated but the incident left permanent scars on him. Before he was found, a loud explosion was heard. The restaurant were he worked was burned down to the ground. Apparently a gas leak was the reason. In the school a strange scenario was also found. The door of the gym was rested against, with the key in the lock just as was asked of Tao. Someone seemed to have broken into one of the classrooms. There was sign of struggle inside, with the tables turned and scramble as if something heavy fell over some of them. In the laboratory, there was glass all over the floor from broken chemistry sets and sopmething seem to have been thrown against the bookcases by the door as they were moved and there was books all over the floor as well. Another window was also broken as if someone bursted through it trying to escape. To make the whole thing even stranger, after the incident came to public knowledge, apparently a student from Ginger School looked for the police and said she/he (confidential information here, sorry) overheard a group of students planning to do something with Tao. They were investigated but denied all accusations and were set free due to the lack of evidence against them.
Whatever happened that day remains a mystery ever since. Tao dodges all questions concerning the subject and isolated himself from basically everyone. He stopped going to school and refused to go out in public for months. It a while for him to come to peace with his deformity, but even then, he refused to go back to school and previous social life. It was then that his family had the idea to appeal to the thing he liked the most: martial arts. They looked for the best dojos they could find in the country and were willing to dig up all their economies if needed. During their research they found out about the Crane Sensei's Dojo and after reaing their history, they new it would be a good place to send Tao to, for a new start, away from the judgemental eyes of highschool teenagers... and maybe judgemental eyes in general. Because, using the same words his parents used when trying to convice Tao:
"If those people don't mind the fact that their founder walked around with a third eye in the middle of his forehead, your scars won't be much a of a deal"
And thus, Tao left for the Crane Dojo, where he trains ever since.

chapter one: tourney troubles
During the 3 years that Tao trained under the Crane Sensei, Tao learned to push his fighting skills to levels he would never imagine and certainly would never attain on his own. His small frame greatly favored his agility and he could probably go toe on toe with any professional martial artist... well at least any that doesn't use ki-based attacks. The truth is that dragonbally speaking, Tao is still a rookie. While most of his fellow martial artists train since they were kids, Tao trained for short periods of time and intermitently throughout his life. The first time he actually mantained a prolongued routine of training was when he came to the Crane Sensei's school. I'm not saiying he necessarily loses all spars, but he certainly is far from being a prodigy student. However, he is very dedicated to the art. Tao gave his blood to train the hardest he could during these years and in training hours only, he indeed holds the first place. And that was because he wanted to be able to keep up with his fellow students. And he wanted to be the best at what he did. Unfortunately, though he had his limitations... Even though he trained harshly for 3 long years, he still didn't seem capable of mastering the most basic techniques. He is the only one in the dojo who can't fly or sense the energy of others. As the ensei told Tao himself:
"You have a latent potential in you. However, you seem afraid to unleash your ki... whatever the reason may be"
For that reason, Tao is far behind his colleagues in some aspects. Tao has always had a hard time keeping his concentration for too long, though after all this time undergoing extensive training he has already improved a lot. For this reason, the Crane Sensei took him to the Tenkaichi Budokai being held during the Centurial Conference for Galactic peace, in order to watch the different fighters and fighting styles, to get away from his zone of comfort; to clear his mind of the Crane-way for a little bit. Maybe that way he could learn something new. Something that could help him break whatever is it that's holding him back, so he can procceed to the next step of his training.
The Tenkaichi Budokai was no longer what it once was. Rather than a beautiful spectacle of martial arts, it became an excuse for the races "united" in the treaty of peace to vent their frustrations on each other. They were even allowing the use of weapons in the matches, something the Tenkaichi Budokai of old would never cogitate. The matches were constantly interrupted and Tao and his sensei soon realized that coming here was merely a waste of time and money. When they couldn't bear all that mess anymore, they simply stood up and left to go home. It must have took them not more than 30 minutes to leave the tournment grounds, cross the market place and reach the place were their ship was landed, waiting for them to leave. That was more than enough time for a chaos to break out like they would never imagined when they decided to leave the Crane Huse to watch the fights today. The pilot had already turned the ship's engine, on. Master Crane was already aboard, missing only Tao inside the veihicle. As the young man was about to hop in, there was a loud noise coming from inside the arena, followed by rising smoke. It seemed to be coming from the bleachers, but they could not be sure. It was a bit dark tonight, although it's been getting progressively clearer, as the thick clouds dissipated to allow for the moonlight to tear the veil of mystery that was shrouding the inner section of the building. They froze for a moment, trying to understand what was going on in front of their eyes. From behind the smoke, they noticed rising silhouettes of something or some things huge, though they couldn't quite figure the tall shapes out. Then there was screaming and the ground between them began to shake. A crowd of panicked spectators came out of the building, rushing and dispersing through the roads of the market place in pure despair and fear. Then the growls began to echo from within the arena and smoke finally began to dissipate, revealing the authors of that mess. Apes... Apes as tall as towers were going berserk in the tourney grounds. They weren't the sole reason; apparently there was also a demon invasion, but from Tao's (and Master Crane's) point of view, they couldn't see it. These giant primates... they were saiyans, or half-breeds at least. Tao have heard about them, although he has never met one of them in person or saw an oozaru for real. He knew however about the destruction they were able to cause. Truth is Tao didn't know how to react to that. His first and only impulse was to run towards the crowd and do something. Maybe he could help. Thankfully, Master Crane had the reflex to grab him by his shirt before he got away from the ship and pulled him inside the ship. Then, yelling at the pilot to take off, they fled the location and headed back to the Crane House. That really startled Tao, leaving those people to their chances like that. It took some dialogue before his sensei beat some sense into him and made him realize there was nothing they could do on their own at that point, but put their lives at risk. Though reluctant at first, Tao acknowedge the truth in his master's words and spoke no more on the matter. Soon, they would be nback home, on safer grounds.

{ TRIVIA }
Tao Lung and his familyâs names are a pun on Kua Kling Phat Tha Lung, considered one of the hottest dishes in the world; a reference to his burn-like scar.
Although he has the same name as the brother of the original Crane sensei, Tao Lung doesn't hold any relation whatsoever with Mercenary Tao or any of the masters and students of the Crane-way, aside from the fact that he became a student himself 3 years ago.
Although he seems to be able to use Zanzoken to an extent, he still seems to be unable to use techniques that require a better practice of ki control such as Bukujutsu or Ki Sensing or even shoot basic ki blasts yet.
