So this was the capitol of Vegeta, huh? It was definitely a lot livelier than wherever it was that she landed with Charlene the last time she had visited. Mr. Vocado had handled the landing when they got there; the still unnamed spaceship having been docked at an actual port this time rather than in the middle of nowhere. After saying goodbye to her newest friend and giving herself a quick pat on the back for her very first successful space explorer mission, Tania decided to leave Benjamin behind to guard the ship while she did some exploring.
Cacumber Capitol was pretty cool. It had a lot of funny looking buildings with long points at the top of them up against the same rosy sky that she had seen during her first visit. Nobody really paid her much mind as she scurried about the busy street. Whether it was because she was so short that she went unnoticed, the notion that the small child wouldn’t really provide a challenge in a fight, the look she carried that she didn’t have anything of value on her, or a combination of the three. Whatever the case, her little expedition went by without incident.
Eventually, the small android happened upon a large, majestic looking structure that seemed to tower over everything else. While its design was similar to the rest of the buildings in the capitol, it had a more commanding presence to it. A couple of imposing looking Saiyans were standing outside of the main entrance, not really paying any mind to the synthetic child since she was staring at it from a distance instead of trying to approach. Oooh, was that a castle? Tania had never seen a real castle before!
Curiosity welling up inside of her tiny frame, Tania skipped right on over and finally earned herself a confused look from the two Saiyans out front. ”Is this a castle? Can I see inside? Pleeeeeeeeease?” she squealed, bouncing up and down. The guards looked down at her like it was the most bizarre thing they had ever seen. One gave the other a shrug, signifying that he didn’t know who the hell the little girl was. The second guard shook his head before snickering down at Tania, shooing her away with a wave of his hand. ”Beat it kid. Go play somewhere else,” he said firmly.
Tania pouted and lightly kicked at the ground, mumbling under her breath as she began to walk away. Man... She wanted to see what the inside looked like!

[Thread PL: 24,990. Suppressed to show 500]
Zuni had slept through many of the recent events. It is one of those unfortunate things that happens when you're incredibly lazy; you close your eyes just for five minutes, and months zoom past. Well. She IS thousands of years old, it is hardly surprising that she needed to get some good shut-eye every now and then. Still. She had been genuinely disappointed to learn that she'd missed some truly awesome events out there in the galaxy; most especially Zucceta's apparent defeat. She would have given any number of limbs to be there to witness that! Such a thing she hadn't even thought was even possible!
Not that it matters. What matters now is what she's going to do now that she is awake. For a start, the monkey demon had decided that she ought to check in at the Palace and make sure things are still pretty much the way she remembered them being; a lot could change in a few months, after all! It wouldn't do for all her knowledge of the place to get too horrendously out of date.
When she arrived, she was surprised to see that there was a ... child there. Not just any child, but a rather cute one - she certainly didn't look like any bratty Saiyan children she'd seen; the lack of a tail was a dead giveaway.
After witnessing the child being turned away, Zuni ducked around out of sight and wiggled her fingers as she cast the magic spell.
"Zabba zooey!"
With a shimmer, the woman's look changed considerably; from a grizzled half-saiyan warrior to... a rather more friendly, pale-skinned, red-haired half-saiyan. Her tail bright pink, as were her eyes, and stretched over a rather, impressive, bust was a white t-shirt with the words: OFFICIAL PALACE TOURS. Coupled with a pair of tight-fitting jean shorts and flip-flops, she was the very picture of a Totally Legitimate Tour Operator. She even has a namebadge calling herself Nuko Zuving
After that, all she needed to do was walk back into the eye line of the child.
"Attention ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages!" She announced to ... well, to Tania, really, but to everyone in earshot. "Official Palace Tours, starting in just ten minutes! If you're interested in all the wonderful history of the glorious Saiyan Solar Empire, well, just follow me! All the history, none of the mystery, that's the Nuko guarantee!"
She's got a fantastic smile, that's for sure; all bright white, dazzling teeth and ... slightly prominent fangs. No matter what form she took, Zuni just couldn't help but look mischievous. Perhaps one of these days she'd try not to cause mischief and see if that helped, but... not today.

Tania dejectedly shuffled away from the palace entrance. She wasn’t going to do anything bad, so why couldn’t she just take a tiny peek inside? The small girl wanted to see if it would be anything like her picture books. Sure, it may not have been why she had come to Vegeta, but now that she knew it was there she had a one track mind about it! Maybe they would change out the guards and the next ones wouldn’t be so mean...
While she was debating whether or not she really wanted to sit around and wait for the guards to change, opportunity knocked right on her door in the form of a young, redheaded woman announcing a tour through the very palace she wanted to get into that was starting up soon. Ooh! That made things much easier! Tania happily skipped over to the woman and raised her hand up as high as it would go without having her arm detach. ”Oh! Me! Me!” she squealed. ”I wanna go on the tour! Can I? Pretty please with sugar on top?” It didn’t even cross the child’s mind that this tour might not have been a real thing. After all, the woman’s shirt said ‘Official Palace Tours’ as clear as day.
”Are there suits of armor inside? Or pictures of kings and queens? Oh! What about a throne room? Will we get to see it?” she blabbered on, not patient enough to actually wait until the tour began to see for herself. It couldn’t start nearly fast enough for her liking. She was sure that the other tour-goers were just as excited as she was. At least, they would have been if there were any other tour-goers. Seriously, was nobody else interested in seeing the inside of a real live palace? Oh well... At the very least Miss Nuko had one customer.

Pin had been visiting the palace to turn in a recent bounty laid out for him by the Empire's treasury. Apparently there had been a soldier gone AWOL, who left with a fair bit of military property with the intent to start some sort of gang or crime ring or war party. Pin didn't really care WHY the soldier had defected, that hadn't been his job. What he DID care about was that he was getting paid and making the universe a better place.
He'd just walked out, intending to head to the bar and get a little buzzed before calling up Granzel or Peppa, or maybe to the training grounds to embarrass a few grunting Saiyan pups, but something caught his ear. A young woman was advertising a tour of the palace. He wouldn't have given it a second thought, except that he was fairly certain that there WERE no official tours of the palace. Security nightmares, those.
Before he could intervene, another young woman - possibly an android, by her power signature and heat output - jumped at the chance to get a tour. Pin looked at the guards posted at the palace entrance, and then at the potential false tour. He shrugged his shoulders, nodded to the guards, and approached the group as he removed his helmet.
"I'd love to see the ins and outs of the Palace. You live in the city all your life and you never really get a chance to SEE anything, you know?" ____________________________________________________________________ Heavy weights ON, thread PL 7,796

They had really only been passing by, exploring the capital of the Saiyan homeworld, with no real interest of seeing the palace again when they had heard a familiar voice speak up. So, as Tania was asking about the palace tour, a voice that would be familiar to her would speak up as well. "Tania? Is that you?" Suddenly two people approached, a woman with pale hair dressed in an old fashioned dress, and a little girl dressed like a mechanic. The girl smiled brightly upon seeing Tania. "Tania! It's been too long!" she hugged the android tightly. The tech crazy girl had begun to see Tania as a sort of unofficial sister. The woman, Porsalynne, had a confused look on her face. "Tania, what are you doing here on Vegeta? This really isn't the safest place to be." Charlene turned around. "Mom, Tania would be fine. We've both been on Vegeta before, remember? When we were last here, we travelled the barren wastelands of Vegeta and were perfectly safe." she turned back to Tania and smiled brightly, "So, what's been up on your end?"
As Charlene spoke with Tania, Porsalynne noticed the other recognizable person in the area. The Saiyan who had been present during Cipher's negotiation attempt. Thankfully it wasn't the one that gave Porsalynne the creeps, but she was still unsure about this one, considering he too seemed to support Vegeta's action against Earth.

Radis had been visiting the capital shortly after returning from a planet that he had recently conquered. The Planet was in the range of an Elite class warrior, and he had actually encountered some worthwhile fighters on the small but very populous planet. Radis had toyed with the fighters, before exterminating them, and taking the women and children as slaves, who would work for the Solar Empire for the rest of there short, miserable lives. The Planet, sadly, was not worth much, but Radis had fun conquering it nonetheless.
Coming to the capital was relieving. The buildings, everything made Radis light up on the inside, and it even managed to supress a tiny bit of his dark side. Only a tiny bit, mind you. He usually took his time when turning in his assignments, to admire the great city. What made him even more happy about it, was that he was at the pinnacle of this great society, the elites.
Radis had always believed that he was above everyone who wasn't an elite. He thought that he and his peers were perfect, while the other races and lower classes were nothing. No matter how powerful anyone who wasn't an elite was, he wouldn't show a speck of true respect to them. He could, as a mask, but on the inside, he would hate them.
While walking towards the place he would turn his assignment in, he heard a voice. Someone had called for a a tour around the palace. While Radis would love to just get his pay, he also loved the capital city. What would be the pain in taking a little detour, he thought. And so he approached the voice. There was a Saiyan among them, with a T-shirt. He shortly wondered why the Saiyan wasn't in battle armor, then approached them. "A tour around the Palace? I demand to come along, free of compensation." Radis said.

No official palace tours? Why, that’d be crazy! Just look at the shirt! It says ‘official palace tours’ right on it! And she has a name badge and everything! How could you fail to trust a halfbreed with a name badge?
‘Nuko’ smiled from ear to ear at Tania, and gave a firm nod of her head, “Oh yes.” She enthused, “Plenty of suits of armour and all the pictures you can eat! I don’t think we’ll be able to see the throne room today, though. They’re probably very busy with important throney business.”
The tour operator then turned to Pin, and, still smiling a bright and brilliant smile, simply gave a nod of her head. “Naturally, Sir! I know just what you mean! Why, you wouldn’t believe how many interesting things I learned when I took up this job.”
The woman and the girl didn’t seem to have many questions for her – which was probably just as well, because one of the Elite also turned up. “Of course, Sir!” She exclaimed, “Why, I wouldn’t dream of asking for payment for this tour. The Tour is sponsored by House Stormtail after all, as part of their effort to educate and inform the population about the history of the Saiyan Solar Empire.”
House Stormtail. They were one of the noble houses, and they had been suffering greatly of late; their patriarch had been accused of treason, and whilst they had eventually been able to clear their name, it wasn’t before they’d lost most of their prestige and a truly sickening amount of their fortune. Perhaps this woman really was involved in some sort of desperate effort to rehabilitate the fallen House?
In fact, Zuni was still working hard to undermine them. They thought they could lay claim to her peach tree and just get away with it? No no no, that won’t do at all.
“ALRIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, AND LITTLE GIRLS.”
‘Nuko’s’ Tour Guide voice really was quite impressive. 'Piercing' might be a good word to describe it.
“Please follow me as we begin this tour. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The tour takes approximately one hour, although if you ask a lot of questions that can be a bit longer. Remember, we’re guests in the heart of the Saiyan Solar Empire, so keep your hands to yourself, don’t make eye contact with any grumpy-looking Saiyans, and try not to make too much noise, thank you!”
With the ‘rules’ laid down, the tour guide began to march away, making sure – as much as she can – that she’s not losing anybody. Those who know the Palace well will soon realize that she’s leading the group around to the far left – well away from the main entrance.
She really did hope that the Palace hadn’t changed too significantly since the last time she was here. It took her weeks to discover this secret entrance! Could be a little awkward if she could only do the tour from the outside…
“The Palace was designed by the great Saiyan architect Seebet, just over two thousand years ago. Note the blocky architecture, designed to repel attack. It took a crew of thirty Oozaru, working during the full moon naturally, just over three weeks to build the initial palace!”

MEANWHILE
The queen of all saiyans sits with a psuedo-suicidal look in her eyes as they begin to lull with boredom. She was resting in her throne, slumped forwards, one robotic hand covering half her face as she stares at the Lord of House Stormtail. She had done her routine, accusing the noble of treason against the Saiyan Solar Empire, of with-holding funds which could have been of use to the empire's government.
It turns out that, due to a twist of fate, Zuni Vukong's lie had an air of truth of it - Lord Tunnip Stormtail, after some paper-checking, had been found out for withholding his taxes from the saiyan empire. Tens of thousands of zenni that could have been used to buy newer facilities for soldiers, such as training rooms or medical bays.
Still, it didn't make the proceedings any less boring.
(Just a short post. Consider Zucceta out of post order - I just wanted to establish that I am in-thread for when I show up later.)

Tania looked up at the young woman with big, bright eyes as she answered her questions. This was going to be so much fun! It was a bit of a bummer about the throne room, but at least she would be able to see the rest of the palace! Though... what was that bit about pictures? Saiyans ate them? Wow... Back where she was from, pictures were just for looking at. Why didn’t Etoru say anything about him eating pictures before? Though, maybe he didn’t because he was just half Saiyan. Still, what a weird idea...
While the child was still trying to wrap her head around the concept of pictures as food, the area around her suddenly got a lot busier. Aha! Tania knew that she couldn’t have been the only one interested in a tour of the palace! A couple of other takers had approached Miss Nuko about her offer. The more, the merrier! There were a couple of Saiyans that were tagging along. One was a man with short black hair and a helmet in his hands. The other was a kid with way longer hair, and seemed to be a bit on the pushy side. Tania just chalked that up to him being excited though. However, there were two more that had approached that were far more familiar to the synthetic child. A pair that she definitely hadn’t expected to run into on Vegeta.
”Charlene! Miss Porsalynne! Hi!” she squealed as she leapt at Charlene in a tackle-hug. It was nice to see them again! This tour just kept getting better and better, and it hadn’t even started yet. When the two girls released each other from the hug Tania listed to Porsalynne’s concerns, as well as Charlene’s defense to said concerns. She nodded in agreement, trying to reassure the woman that she had nothing to worry about. ”Don’t worry about me, Miss Porsalynne. I’m a real life space explorer now, just like Commander Clive!” she explained, referencing the old cartoon that had gotten her hyped about travelling through outter space to begin with. ”I even finished my first mission already! So what about you guys? What brings you to Vegeta?”
However, their conversation would have to continue while they were on the move. Nuko’s voice rang out rather loudly as a signal that the tour was finally starting! Feeling giddy, Tania bopped along right behind the young woman as she went over the rules and led them along the outside of the palace walls. ”Ooh,” she whispered softly, trying to be mindful about the amount of noise that she made as she listened to the explanation of how the castle was built, eating up every single word. Tania had no idea what an Oozaru was, but it sounded awfully impressive!

Post by Zoraba on Jan 28, 2016 13:13:32 GMT
[Thread PL: 4,000]
Zoraba scoured the city streets again. The still unofficial Saiyan enjoyed his capital, though he didn't appreciate any of the other species walking around it particularly. His form would appear a little unusual to most Saiyans as he continued to wear no upper shirt, no upper body armor. Rather preferring his battle suit upper half rolled around his waist. Zoraba did happen to have padding on his covered legs, however his feet were as bare as his chest. The only other clothing a pair of finger-less gloves.
He growled as he strode down the street, not entirely pleased that he hadn't gotten to fight and/or kill anyone yet. Zoraba's ever-watchful caretaker Lise floated just behind him, a rather bored expression upon the little bug's face. The robust Saiyan around run a hand through his spiky hair as he let out a sigh and his crooked short monkey tail swung free, but twitched in annoyance.
He was ready to blast a hole in a wall if something didn't happen soon. Thankfully he happened upon the large group of Saiyans and, ugh not Saiyans, entering some large guarded building. One particular Saiyan seemed to be shouting about an exploration into the building, whatever it is.
Regardless he figured it would be somewhat entertaining, his burly form jogging up behind the group and stepping in beside them. Following along as he would cross his arms over his hairy chest. An audible yawn creaking out of Lise's mouth as he leaned on Zoraba's shoulder while they walked.

Radis was extremely shocked when he heard the Saiyan girl say that the tour was sponsored by House Stormtail. As far as Radis knew, they were a dishonorable house with dishonorable folk. They had decided to keep their taxes away from the Imperial Court, which could have easily made the Empires life easier, as they could properly armor and feed the troops. He wondered why House Stormtail would want to sponser a tour, perhaps to redeem there name? So Radis asked the girl, who certainly must've known the answer. "So is Stormtail sucking up to the crown now? Pathetic." Radis said, a little bit sternly. If he was the patriarch of House Stormtail, he wouldn't waste his time sponsering tours for young girls. He would fight to regain his houses glory.
Radis saw the young girl talking to the guy, who he couldn't precisely describe. Why were Non-Saiyns on Planet Vegeta, especially at the Capital? He turned to the girl, who was now Ooing and Aaing at the Palace. "Tell me, is there a reason you and this guy came to Planet Vegeta? Are you Mercenaries of some kind?" Radis asked. He may have said it in a stern voice, but he had no reason to be in any way nice to this foreigner, especially one who looked so young as she did.

Pin followed along with the tour, a smirk painted across his face. He wasn't sure what this "tour guide" was playing at, but he was finding himself more and more amused. Wherever this game was going, he wanted to hear the punch line.
"House Stormtail? Pretty sure I've killed a couple of Stormtails in the last few weeks..." Pin said to himself, remembering a job he'd received to bring in anyone of note for the tax-dodging house.
He listened as the tour guide described the construction of the palace, and the reasoning for it's shape. Pin was suspicious, as it was more likely for round walls to turn away attacks, but he decided to keep his mouth shut. He was, after all, here to "learn".
He couldn't help but take note of the young Saiyan boy, who had demanded to join the tour for free, and was now being somewhat rude to the young girl who'd been most excited about this particular tour. What was worse was that she seemed to be friendly with the two Earthers that had been introduced as Cipher's family. Pin normally wouldn't get involved, but he had a feeling that things might turn sour if Cipher's fiancee and kid were made to feel threatened.
"Nothing wrong with offworlders, kid," Pin said to Radis, and he meant it - one of his best friends was an offworlder, "And nothing wrong with Mercenaries either. Plenty of Saiyans are mercenaries." He unwrapped his tail from his waist and gave the kid a light swat with it. Sure, Pin wasn't a true Saiyan, but for all outward appearances you couldn't tell unless you were some kind of genius scientist.
"So let's try not to be too rude to our guests." He winked at Charlene and Porsalynne.

"Well, Cipher's here to try and have peace talks with the Saiyan government," Porsalynne explained, "Though they haven't really gone well. So Charlene and I thought we'd explore the capital before heading home." She was relieved that Tania was alright, and her words did help reassure the female android, even when others arrived, including a Saiyan youth who was questioning why they were here. Much to her surprise, Pin stood up for them, acting much more friendly to them than he did earlier. It earned him a small smile from the motherly android.
Meanwhile, Charlene was listening carefully as their tour guide explained about the castle's architecture. The idea of Oozaru working in construction caused the child to giggle somewhat. It was just a humorous mental image. While she had been in the palace before, they had only seen a little bit of it. She was curious to see the rest. "Let's get this show on the road then, shall we?"

The tour guide had to put her ear up against the palace wall, sticking her tongue out and biting on it as she concentrated intensely. She couldn't really remember the exact location of the switch, off the top of her head, but she knew it was around here somewhere-- ahah! There!
At about the same time Radis asked her if Stormtail were 'sucking up to the crown', 'Nuko's' fingers seem to find a point in the otherwise-indistinguishable brickwork. There's a loud, unpleasant grinding noise as the external section of wall swung inwards to reveal... a dark and somewhat-dank corridor.
Pin - if he knows security - probably knows that this is one of the tunnels used to allow messengers to return without being seen. Most saiyans, it was true, didn't particularly go in for subterfuge and double-dealing, but the Empire probably wouldn't have been able to survive as long as it had if someone didn't know a thing or two about spymastering at some point in its long history!
"Oh, I don't know if I'd say sucking up, Sir." 'Nuko' said to Pin, with a bright smile on her lips. "House Stormtail just want to help everyone learn about the proud and noble heritage of our mighty Solar Empire! Now then, if you'd all like to follow me..."
Stepping into the corridor, the tour guide's voice took on a more echoing quality as she led the group inwards. There's barely enough room for people to walk two across, which probably meant things were going to get a bit squeezed with a group of this size, but the cheerful half-breed seemed to take it in her stride, clapping her hands together and continuing with her explanation of the Palace's history.
From somewhere about her person, Nuko has produced a little torch which she shines in a fairly erratic way to provide some sort of light in the dank tunnels.
"You might be thinking that these corridors are too small for Oozaru to have built, and you'd be right! This corridor was actually a food delivery system added back in the first days of the palace. As you can see if you look up, there are lots of notches in the ceiling. Back before Saiyan palettes got as ... refined as they are today, animals and captured slaves of all sorts would be ground up, and piped throughout the palace in a series of 'meat tubes' for the consumption of the King, his family, and favoured courtiers. The meat was delivered right to their bedroom in the pipes, and would arrive as a large circular roll. This has led to the popular expression used all around Vegeta today, 'That guy's so rich he's just rolling in meat'."
Nuko's voice is definitely authoritative, though really, she's trying to remember which of the many branching corridors it is she wants to go down - she doesn't want to wind up blundering into the throne room unannounced, that would end badly for everyone, so... the kitchens, maybe? Or perhaps the laundry room? Where was the corridor with all the paintings, she could make up some interesting stuff there, hmmmm....

Peace talks? That sounded super important. Was it just her, or did Mr. Cipher 24 seem to get those kinds of missions a lot? He was so lucky to have such exciting things to do for the BBA, even if Tania preferred her super important job of looking for magic stuff.
Tania turned her head and smiled to the Saiyan kid, not registering his somewhat harsh tone. It was just an innocent question. Ooh! Or it could be the very first fan of all of the heroic antics she was sure to perform now that she was exploring space! ”Well, we were here a while ago on a super secret mission, but I didn’t get to see all that much of it. What if there are more green guys that play charades that I’m missing out on? Or other fun stuff? So I thought, ‘why not’?” Tania explained, the reasoning making plenty of sense to her. ”Besides, I got to complete my very first mission by giving Mr. Vocado a ride home!”
While Tania had been talking about her little achievement, the tour guide had been poking at the bricks on the outter palace wall until a click was heard, followed by the sound to brick scraping against brick. The small girl turned back just in time to see that a secret passage had been revealed. Wow! That was way cooler than just walking through the front gate. The group was somewhat forced into a single file line as they were lead into the narrow passageway.
”Meat tubes?” Tania repeated, sticking her tongue out. That didn’t sound very good at all. Then again, she was more of a sweets kind of girl. ”So was that before or after Saiyans started to eat pictures?” she questioned curiously. According to Nuko, Saiyans had really weird taste when it came to food. It was a good thing that Tania had been modeled after a human instead.
