Participants: Vi-PoiThread Power Level: 95,549 *Heavy Weights On: 23,887* Just below the outer layer of the atmosphere, far above the desolate wasteland known as Yunzabit Heights, a massive shape broke the clouds. Big Blue, the spaceship headquarters of the Blue Banner Army was returning to the atmosphere for resupply, and not far below, a humanoid shape was waiting. Walker sat in the sky, watching the ship lower down. He couldn't quite get outside of the planet into the vacuum of space yet, so he was forced to wait for a chance like this. Despite his fame, it wasn't easy to track down the robotic Azure Administrator. Arcing upwards, Walker headed towards the hangar doors, following the resupply vehicles. Waiting outside, he paused, allowing the doors to open, then sent out a telepathic message to the people inside. "Pardon me, I'm here to speak to Vipoi, if that's not too much trouble? I am Walker. I suspect he will remember me, unless he knows other flying trees" Waving at the ones who looked his way, the tree flew inside, settling to the floor off to one side, and placed his hands behind his back as a few soldiers grabbed radios and began passing messages to whoever was on the other end. It was a bit abrupt, but there was an unfortunate lack of other ways to contact the robot. Walker didn't exactly have any technology with which to give Vi-Poi a call. Before, he would have asked Rei, but she was.. gone. That was sad. Musing on this, and other recently learned things, Walker waited for a response to his impromptu visit. [Bit Short, sorry, but I didn't want to go either too lax in security, or too stringent.]

Big Blu had never made a Highlands landing before. It was a test of the electron-ki exchangers, to see if those nine thousand gigatons of discrete energy could bulwark the three hundred thousand tons of raw iridium, yttrium, titanium, and steel that comprised the ship. The engineers Vi-Poi suspected that the ignatius bedrock blanketing the subsoil would make for the largest challenge, and Vi-Poi thought they might be right. But it wasn’t the hull he was worried of, it was the engines. A large enough vibration might shake the massive exhaust cylinders pieces, and they hadn’t been the same since the repair allotment was halved to compensate for the lawsuits. Just before the landing, a psychic message beamed across every mind, Vi-Poi’s own Neuro-phone opening up to it. “Flying tree?” Vi-Poi gasped. “Walker!” He immediately ordered a cancellation of the landing, opening up the wide-band on his 3D Scan Mode until he found Walker’s power signature approaching the vessel. “Open up the hanger door.” He transmitted. Then in Walker’s direction, with his Neuro-phone. “Come on in.”
He quickly flew to the bay in question, landing quickly. Vi-Poi was wearing a sleek blue pilot’s jumpsuit, though he didn’t think he’d have to fight. Walker was a peaceful entity by all accounts, a very interesting bio-android that required further study. His entrance to the vast spaceship would be greeted by a standing guard of four piloted Battle Jackets, each bristling with missiles and weaponry. Vi-Poi stood at the center of the hanger, awaiting Walker. (No problem, I like shorties just fine )

Walker turned towards Vi-Poi as he entered, and waved. He smiled, too, but the only real indication of this occurring was the glowing circles of light that passed for his eyes changing to semi-circles for a moment. His mouth was fairly hard to distinguish when closed. "Ah, Vi-Poi! It has been a long time! I apologize for my absence from events, I was.." He coughed, and his cheeks actually appeared to glow purple for a second. "Err... Dormant, I suppose. Apparently, if I am in sunlight, and meditating, I rather lose track of time. On the plus side, I am not likely to go around attempting to consume people now."
He started to chuckle, then paused, glancing at the Battle Jackets. "Well, perhaps that joke's not in good taste, my apologies. Anyways, I had wanted to speak with you about a few things, if you perhaps have the time? I would have called ahead, but..." He held up one hand, gesturing with it. "Using a phone is a bit difficult for me, I'm afraid." Folding his arms behind his back, he glanced over at Vi-Poi once more. For just a moment, he saw the android's hair as red, felt that flash of white... He had gotten over it, but he couldn't suppress a momentary shiver. Realigner Red being the same person simply didn't compute to him. Still, he wouldn't have thought Reikiko evil either.
"I'm happy to talk here, if you'd like, but I'm not quite sure how sensitive some of this may be considered?" Shrugging, he looked around. A couple of BBA soldiers were glancing at him a bit warily. He responded by waving cheerily, although it occurred to him after he put his hand back that the large blade he kept on his back might be considered frightening. It was sheathed, though, and it wasn't as if he really had a house to put it in. "I am the new Caretaker of the Lookout, though. I don't think that's a particularly big secret."

“We can speak in a more comfortable setting, yes.” Vi-Poi gestured for Walker to follow him, leading the tree-creature to the park on midships, where a winding stream bubbled amid wild roses, pink mountain holly, and fields of green grass. An abnormally large apple tree stood at the center of the park, past two bridges that crossed the sinuous little river. Vi-Poi made his way to that tree, thinking Walker would find the most comfort in a nature setting.
“By now I’m sure you’ve heard much news. I’m not sure when exactly you went dormant, but the Solar Saiyan Empire attempted to invade the planet. Many died defending Earth, and our victory was hard-won.” Vi-Poi floated up onto the apple tree’s broad bough, sitting down on the wide branch. “So you are the Caretaker of the Lookout now. Bing’s partner?” He gave a small smile. “How do you intend to follow your nature, if you will no longer absorb people to progress?” He wondered, lighting a small spark of bright blue ki on the tip of his index finger. “We are all forever responsible for what we have subdued. Now that you have contained your urges, you will be considered at fault should your nature win out in the end.” His spark of ki winked out of existence, leaving a thin trail of smoke. “By most sentients, anyway.” He leaned back against the thick bark of the tree, head tilted back as he stared up at the bright red apples hanging from the leaves.
“The Timeless Lookout. Timeless. An interesting title, is it not? Yet my internal clock and my relativistic sensors detect no perturbations in time when I am there.” Vi-Poi used his telekinesis package to pluck an apple from the tree, the red orb spiraling down towards him until it fell into his outstretched hand. He gave it an upward toss, catching it. “Perhaps it is called timeless for other reasons.” The small android mused. “The time allotted for an idea is what makes that idea so important. Is there a timeless idea, of infinite importance, on that lonely lookout? Maybe so.” He tossed the apple down into the grass, letting it tumble with others that have fallen from growing too fat and too ripe.
“What do you think that idea might be?”

The mobile tree followed Vi-Poi without saying much, simply nodding. As they entered the rather beautifully cultivated area, Walker couldn't help but wonder about the android's choice of setting. Given it was an apple tree, he would be willing to bet quite a bit that Rei was responsible for it being on the ship. As the leader of the BBA began to speak, he chose to remain quiet until he finished.
When finally he was asked a question, the fighter was not sure how to respond. It was almost certain now that he had been brought to the tree for a number of symbolic reasons. That, or it was a coincidence. Those did seem to happen a lot to him. "I am indeed abstaining, and I am aware that without taking the strength of others, my progression will be slowed. However..." Staring down at his arm, he flexed it for a moment. "I find that I do not become overly worried. The more I delve into my past, the more I feel that I may be able to evolve of my own will, if only I can master the chaos that formed me. I may well succumb to the desire to consume, but if that is the case, then it is what I have selected, for good or ill. "My nature" is not a crutch I would lean on to excuse what I may do."
He grew still then, staring at the fallen apple. "As for your query about the Lookout... I'm afraid I couldn't say. Time is an... interesting thing to me. I am barely two years old, and yet I seem as though an older being to many. When I focused inward, months passed me by, and yet I can feel the seconds if I focus. However, much as I respect Bing, I would say that no idea is entirely timeless. To remain the same without evolution is mere stagnation" Looking up at Vi-Poi, he folded his hands. "The Z-Fighters are necessary, to be sure. However, even after the incident of Re-Aligner Red, I think that the BBA is perhaps the best chance for Earth to remain free of the empires that war within this universe. It is stagnating as it is."
Gesturing in the general direction of space, his tone grew quiet. "The Saiyan Invasion was beaten back by the few. The Arcosian Mercenaries, even without their leader, still exist as a concept. Earth is merely riding the waves as the few mighty ones do as they please, forced to endure Saiyans, wild creations of Mad Science, Demons and worse. Hence..." Looking up at the android on the branch, he spread his hands. "I wish to assist you. I am aware of what has occurred since I vanished from the stage, but this world needs order. I still aim to assist Bing. As I said, he and the Z-Fighters are necessary. However, I recall Rei referring to herself, once, as a "Freelancer" for the Blue Banner."

@tokoz sorry for the hold up, been doing a ton of site work ) “When alternate pathways present themselves, much can be gained in their consideration.” Vi-Poi agreed. He floated down until he was eye level with the tree-being, “Earth is more among the mighty ones than you might think. These troubles have made it strong. The Saiyans threw everything they had at the planet. It was no expeditionary force. The Queen herself led the main thrust in the north. They were all defeated. Thousands of Saiyan Warriors were killed. I don’t think they’ve suffered a defeat like that in centuries. Maybe even millennia.” He pulled his legs up, sitting with his knees pointed outward in a meditative crouch . “Though I expect their Empire to recover quickly, just like their warriors do individually. They have an impressive devotion to war and battle.” Vi-Poi pursed his lips. “And you are correct to think that Blue Banner is best positioned to defend Earth. No offense intended for your Kami, but the Z-Fighters are children playing at being ghosts. The real Zetto Senshi, whoever or whatever they really were, are long gone.”Vi-Poi studied Walker closely. This Bio-android was possibly the most unique creation he’d ever come across. “Reikiko was a mercenary, and I will certainly take you on as well. But who made you?” He wondered. “Do you know what you are? Your history. Your origins. They’ve always been an open question for me.” Floating backwards, Vi-Poi leaned himself against the coarse bark of the tree, folding one booted foot over the other. “Blue Banner Army has no records on your creation. A secret science experiment, from one of the shadow pre-takeover groups, I’m guessing?”

Nodding, the tree looked back. "I will agree, Earth is quite strong. Still, I say it is to their credit that unlike the Saiyans and Arcosians, they have not gone pillaging the stars. Still, if Kaula, or Bing, or yourself fell in battle, the power of Earth would be significantly weakened. It is only the anomalous presence of so many mighty beings that has prevented such things as the Saiyan Invasion from succeeding, I think."
He should have been offended at the Z-Fighter comment, but in all honesty, it sounded as if it was likely accurate. "I am aware. The name may be passed down, but ultimately, I doubt many of them are truly strong enough to provide assistance. From looking over the rough notes on their ranks, I would list perhaps 3 as being even roughly my own level or above, and I am quite frankly far too weak at the moment. That does not bode well. I understand your concern. It is part of the reason why I am here."
The final question was a bit of a shock, actually. Walker had assumed Vi-Poi would have managed to get that information somehow, even if it was a bit obscure. Then again, he HAD essentially wrecked Project STEM in his newborn naivete, and with the knowledge gained from the Pendulum Room, he was aware that their results had been incredibly unique, and unlikely to be repeated without another specimen like himself. That WOULD explain why most of what they were trying to do had seemed to fail.
"I believe your initial mistake may be assuming that I was made, precisely. There were scientists who attempted to make a Bio-Android, and I was created in that project. Still, given what I have learned, I think that perhaps the two did not have as much to do with each other as you might think." Moving his arm up, he let it split for a moment, then reform. "Several different species had DNA added to me, and yet I only feel a few... let us call them "Essences" within my being. While I can, theoretically, absorb things, I do not seem to consume the body. Rather, in my few early absorptions, before I was aware of what it meant, I seemed to consume their energy, rather than form." Frowning for a moment, he seemed troubled. "I take minor solace in the fact that I did not consume innocents, but rather hostile beings. Even so, there are 1 or 2 that I do not think entirely deserved death."
Recovering his wits, he continued. Looking somewhat abashed, he gestured to himself, saying "As far as I am able to determine, this tree was grown with it's roots within the body of a demon that came to earth almost 45 years ago. The scientists likely selected this tree to experiment on, due to it's unusual hue and possibly what they believed to be a Ki signature. From their notes, I was intended to be the first of a group of war machines. However, the only thing that really took hold was the essence of more mystical species, like Namekians. Rather than being a hybrid, I suppose I am mimicking them, as I do the abilities of the Demon that... uplifted my tree before the scientists, with his death." He shrugged, folding his arms behind his back.
"I suppose, rather than a Bio-Android, I would be a Bio-Golem? That is what you call a being fueled by magic, yes?"

Vi-Poi listened attentively to Walker. "A being fueled by magic?" Vi-Poi asked, leveling an index finger at a fallen apple. A fuzzy pink light surrounded his fingertip before a rosy beam snapped from finger to fruit. The once shiny red apple suddenly puffed into a fist-sized marshmallow. "I have some of that as well."
"So, what is it you would have of me? I'm willing to lend a hand to the protection of Earth, and as far as that goes I'm also willing to assist Kami. As long as it's not giving any aid to the Zetto Senshi. No offense, but I consider them to be a bunch of clownish simpletons reenacting what they've read of some historical fable. I enact real policies to maintain stability and protect the planet, and behave in a manner fit for someone with the powers and responsibilities I possess. The Z-Fighters that I've met seem to think their powers are some sort of gag or novelty to be used for entertainment, or are otherwise self-aggrandizers who have little interest in the actual hard work of protecting Earth against menacing aliens. Besides Bing, I've not seen any who deign to ever defend the planet. There were millions of Blue Banner fighters who died in its defense. Can you call yourself a hero, a defender, when you're unwilling to fight?"
Vi-Poi blinked slowly. "I get ahead of myself. Did you have anything else to ask of me? Is someone giving you problems on the Lookout?"

Really, Walker would have loved to disagree with Vi-Poi on that point, but honestly, he couldn't. He was only peripherally aware of most of the new Z-Fighters, but he was well aware that he was among the strongest, and it was notable that they did not seem to have played much if any role in preventing the most recent disasters. What use was an organization such as that, if they merely boasted?
Walker was aware that he was among their number, but the world could not rely on Bing forever, after all. People would have to step up to the planet's defense as well, and right now, it seemed that Vipoi was the best bet for that. Hopefully he would be able to aid in forming a more powerful team of Zetto-Senshi, but at this point, after his own personal failure to be present at the last two catastrophes, the tree was not ready to chance it.
"Hence why I came to you. I respect you, Cipher and Rei, as well as many of the people of the BBA I have met. I am uncertain if the Zetto Senshi will be any real defense if Bing should fall, and as such, I wish to ensure that I may safely assist as many with the well-being of earth in mind as possible. I trust you to be such a person." Bowing deeply to the Android, he felt the worry in his chest finally still.
"As for the Lookout, there has been no trouble. That is why I came now. Eventually, something will happen, and who knows whether we will be prepared. I intend to continue training, to ready myself for whatever it might be. I think..." And here, he hesitated. Staring down at his arms, he flexed them for a moment. "I think that perhaps there might be a way to achieve greater power without the route Rei took. She absorbed the Super Saiyan, Athren. I intend to avoid such a thing, if I can." He would consume an enemy if that was required, but that seemed a dangerous route to go down. He had seen what happened with Scargot's daughter.
Bowing once more, he smiled for a second. "Thank you for taking time to see me. Please, let me know if I can help in some way. If there's nothing else you have at the moment, I'm afraid I must be getting back. I have fallen quite far behind my former equals, Bing and Kaula."
