Abzerute frowned as he walked back into the gravity chamber, clicking the personal scan function on his Scouter several times to ensure that it was functioning correctly. "Such a small jump in power..." he said to himself, displeased that his training session in thirty times Earth's gravity had yielded such... unfavourable results. His power level had increased by only two thousand points or so.
Whilst it was an increase, he had been hoping that his training would grant a much larger boost in his power level, at least twice that number if not three times that number. He considered what the difference was between this training and his last training had been, going by the variable increases in his power, whilst he walked around his artificial gravitational field chamber which he had set to be forty times Earth's gravity.
In the last training he had done so alone and acrued only such a small difference in immediate power... the last time he had acquired a large amount of power had been a delayed reaction from... He sighed as he reached his conclusion. "From when I had been training with Mister Roarke and out testing new techniques." the bronze Arcosian grumbled, deciding to perform tail push ups for a while whilst he considered the situation. On the one hand there was the evidence that training with someone else in these chambers was without a doubt a way to massively increase his power... that also meant he had to rely on a training partner.
Given what had transpired in his last session with Beryl Roarke, he wasn't exactly keen on the idea... especially since throughout that entire thing the man hadn't removed his weighting device. It was possible that the man's power could extend much further than what he had seen and experienced... that massive surge in power was a dangerous human trait. Even more so because of its unpredictability. Whilst there was a pact on that they wouldn't utilise their full strength against one another for some time... there was still the possibility of the bronze Arcosian accidentally triggering that state in the human once more.
That was not something he relished occuring. Which left him with only the option of attempting to locate someone who's species didn't have the capability of being a ticking time bomb. The situation both vexed and concerned the bronze Arcosian as he stopped doing tail squats and moved into simply flying around the chamber through the enhanced gravitational field around him. He disliked the concept that his power increasing was dependent on another being, as well as the knowledge that as his power increased with that partner's assistance, their own power increased as well at the same rate... hence his reasoning for trying to train by himself without the aid of the dark-skinned human under these higher artificial gravity fields.
Unless he found himself a different partner or minion each time he sought to train... He paused in his flying as he considered that option. He did seek to increase his martial forces, and now that he considered the option he couldn't simply rely on Captain Koldar's slowly growing army if he were to make his play for the throne. No, he had to ensure his own forces were loyal to him and wouldn't turn should someone else make a claim for Arcose's throne.
The question now though was whom and what could he obtain as his minions? As he was on Brench it would make sense to acquire some of the locals as they would be the easiest to outsource from. That and they are still loyal to the Arcosian Empire, and would therefore be more pliable to the suggestion of a new Emperor. As he proceeded to go through some one armed push-ups, changing arms every ten push-ups he considered what sort of minions would be the best ones to acquire. They would have to be non-threatening looking, people that many would not suspect of being exemplar warriors, because along with being his sparring partners they would also serve as his own personal guard.
A solution came to his mind and he began to chuckle at the thought. A pair of handmaidens would serve just the purpose. Given his growing power and wealth, it would make external sense for him to acquire his own harem. All civilisations had their own vices, and nobody would suspect a female servant of being someone capable of putting up a fight. Of course, he had to ensure that the ones he chose could pose no threat to himself on their own... Which was when the next station arrived on this train of thought as he stopped his push-ups and began to perform a series of sit-ups.
One of his potential minions would be a Ki specialist, whilst the other would be a close quarters combatant specialist. Individually they wouldn't be able to defeat and usurp him, and he would pit them against one another to ensure that neither of them considered the possibility of uniting against their master. Of course though the minute that even a single one of them acted as a guard for him, their cover would be blown... which meant that whomever he chose would either need to be able to silence his enemies quickly or would need the ability to alter their appearance.
Which led him to consider perhaps the Majin species that lurked on Earth. They held the capability of altering their appearance and physique to suit their own desires... but they were woefully unreliable, although there were rumours that the Saiyan Empire had one in their employ. "Brenchian or Majin..." he mused as he sat up, blinking before he chuckled. "Simple, get both. Two Majin and two Brenchian... or one of each that knows the duplication technique." the bronze Arcosian surmised his thoughts as he stood up and looked to the control panel of the Gravity Chamber. He floated towards the device and began to turn it down. An excellent test for his minions would be if they could swiftly adapt... and there was still the fifty times artificial gravity setting to push himself through.
Yes, that would be the ideal time to test any candidates for the position. thought Abzerute to himself as he stepped out of the gravity chamber, heading for the bridge of his ship. He had some applications to look through, and decisions to make.
I'll take PL for this thread :3
