Brassica looked out over her domain, smiling softly as the radiant suns light danced across the jungle canopy, the dew on their leaves sparkling like so many diamonds and previous gemstones. It was sights like this that made her ever wonder why anyone went back to Vegeta... the homeworld of the Saiyans was nothing but desolate rock as far as the eye could see from what she could vaguely remember all those years ago as a child. But it was sights like this that reminded her about why she had to get stronger, much stronger than she currently was right now. The annual tournaments she had been holding, combined with dealing with interstellar raiders and pirates had done her some good of late, but in her eyes it wasn't going to be enough.
There were far stronger foes waiting out there amongst the stars that could still arrive on her world, either willingly like the pirates, or by accident like her current guests, two of whom she'd lost track of. She had to increase her power and quickly... the local inhabitants of this jungle death world wouldn't be able to help her achieve this any more. She'd grown too powerful to use them as effective sparring partners. Even her own adopted sister who was easily one of the strongest Simians on this world, and who trained with Brassica nearly every day didn't reach up to half of her current level of power. There was far too large a gap... she had to find some other means of doing so.
And had been doing just that. With that thought in mind she began to make her way down through her Temple, the Simians on her way bowing before her as she passed them by. There was a hidden chamber within the centre of the Temple's lower floor, one in which she had been slowly constructing something that could help her achieve what she sought after. The thing with the raiders and pirates arriving on her world, was that they very rarely if ever left it alive. And that meant their ships were ripe for the plundering and salvaging. Well, what remained of them after they'd been caught in the cross-fire of their battles.
Brassica entered the secret chamber through a series of interlocking wall passages, snapping her fingers to spread her ki out to the partitions in the wall, igniting the wood within each of them. The room slowly began to light up and in the centre of the chamber rested what could only be described as a ship. It wasn't entirely finished yet, there were still several systems that required attention, along with sorting out the power supply conduits... but the real reason she had this interstellar craft constructed was for a simple purpose. To act as a self-contained training facility and power a gravitational field generator chamber.
She'd been going over some data logs in her Pod that she'd arrived in, and one of the things it talked about was how to swiftly increase your power through training in higher gravity fields. If she could manage to get this ship fully operational, as well as the gravity chamber she had been slowly constructing from following the blueprints laid out in her Pod's entry logs, then she could come down here in peace and quiet, and train herself to withstand higher gravities, thus increasing her power far more rapidly. It would be a harsh process, but it was one that she felt confident would be able to be pulled off.
The Saiyan Goddess rose from the floor and flew up towards the entrance hatch of her ship, which was a hole in the bottom of it. In theory this would allow her to exit and enter her ship far more quickly than using conventional doors. As she entered the ship, she began to inspect each panel and wire as she passed it by on her way to the central hub of the ship. Everything appeared to be relatively in order so far... maybe a few bits here and there could be adjusted, some wires could be replaced if she ever intended the ship to fly. But for now, she did not need it to. For now, all it was designed to do was serve as a massive generator and housing unit for the Gravity Chamber the Saiyan woman hoped to get up and running, sooner rather than later.
As she reached the central hub, she looked upon the nascent Gravity Chamber that was taking form within it. It was effectively a massive ball, but one that was surrounded by several thick bands of metal. In theory, once it was powered up, each of these bands would begin to spin around the orb, and exert within it the desired artificial gravity. She didn't understand any of the science behind it herself, but she trusted the diagnostics and blueprints to know what they were talking about and make it work.
It was almost complete, just needed a few more panels here and there, as well as work on the insulation inside the chamber itself. Didn't want to wind up accidentally making the machine explode the minute she tried to use an energy attack whilst she was training. It had taken long enough to build the device as it was... repairing it... that would be next to impossible without a fresh new supply of pirates or raiders. The Saiyan Goddess rested a hand against the cold metal plating, her mind drifting back to the sparkling canopies of the jungle above. "I'll make sure nothing happens to my world... nor to my family." she said to herself, her voice echoing within the confines of the ships halls. "I promise."
With those final words she left the chamber, the ship, and began to make her way back towards the surface. She had a lot of work still to accomplish, and there wasn't even a second to waste. Anyone could arrive at any time to her world, and she had to be strong enough to repel them if not outright kill them. She had to be. For the sake of those who had raised her on this world, and her own pride as a Saiyan warrior. Her pride would not allow her to break her promise of protection... nothing would.
She would rather die than see her world go up in fire, to see her budding civilisation be torn apart for someone's entertainment, to see her adopted people be reduced to slaves... or worse. Her tail fidgeted in her fury as she considered that dark possible future of failure. "It will not come to pass." she snarled as she once more took her place upon her throne atop her Temple, overlooking her growing city of Simians. "I will not allow it."
