[ Thread PL 10,700] [ Raisu Hanamura]
Despite recent events, Earth was a planet that remained strong. It was a tenacious little rock, thats for sure. With people already doing their best to fix up the carnage caused by the Saiyan Solar Empire, peace would soon return to the land... Or at least as peaceful as it would get, before the next obnoxious warmonger decides to make an tremendous mistake in overestimating themselves and underestimating their opponents... After a short adventure into West Capitol to see how things were going and therein formally meeting a Saiyan hybrid known as Jarvis, the Arcosian warrior Defrosch had once again returned to his preferred state of solitude... After making sure that as many dogs were safe as possible whenever he came across them, that is. His soft spot for canines aside, he thought that rebuilding that which wasn't his was none of his business. What if he did something even slightly wrong and got a bunch of people pissed off? That'd be a huge bother to deal with... Perhaps it was for the best, considering wasn't as fully integrated into the social side of things despite being on this planet for seven or so years. Today, he was simply fishing, much like he had planned earlier. He wouldn't wander too far away from his home in the desert, therefore, his best option in terms of finding edible aquatic life was scouting out the lakes in Fukurou Forest! "Pbbt... So it begins..."Now who knows what he'll find?

(Thread PL: 84,540. Heavy weights on. Weighted PL: 21,135.)
Raisu wandered through Fukurou Forest. It was a nice enough place, supposedly home to various clans of ninjas and samurai. Not that Raisu had seen any during his stroll through the forest. Of course, in the case of the ninjas, it just meant that they were good at their jobs. What kind of ninjas would go about proclaiming their business? Bad ones. And given what he knew about ninjas, probably dead ones. Though it would certainly be interesting to meet one. Surely, they would have quite a few interesting stories to tell. And in that vein, it would be interesting to meet a samurai as well. Perhaps learn a little from either. Raisu had always been interested in learning to wield a weapon, but the opportunity never presented itself.
Raisu continued to walk through the forest, enjoying the coolness of the air beneath the forest canopy. It was quite nice to get out of the sun and the like. Raisu also enjoyed the scents of the forest. There was something natural, something earthy about it. It was something he couldn’t quite describe, a kind of primal smell. It was almost like one of those fancy candles that his mother was fond of, but Raisu knew that he was smelling the real deal here.
Somewhere in his mind, a ki signature brushed against his mind. It was a strange one, one he’d never quite encountered before. It was rather large, too. Much too large to be a normal person. Interesting, thought Raisu. It was probably worth checking out. Even if the person were hostile, Raisu could more than handle them, judging by the ki signature. Of course, he always have to assume that they were not showing their true power. That had often been the case these days. So one could never be too careful.
As Raisu walked towards the ki signature, he briefly considered saying ‘hello’ with his mind. After all, he had mastered telepathy for a reason. But no, that would be rude. And besides, it the person were hostile, it would be best to maintain the element of surprise. In fact, he should suppress his ki.
[Power Lever Suppressed to 5]
And with that, he finally reached the clearing in which the ki signature was. In the clearing was an alien, an Arcosian, sat in front of a pond. For a brief moment, Raisu thought that it might just be Polar, the Arcosian he had met time and time again. But no, that didn’t make sense. The ki signature was smaller, different, And the two looked quite different.
“Hello!” Shouted Raisu as he strode into the clearing.

At this point, Defrosch would have caught a few fish of varying sizes and colours. Hes not exactly a picky eater, and even then, what might be bad fish for Earthlings to consume could be perfectly fine for him. He didn't know much about Fukurou forest lore, but he had also heard something about ninjas. Perhaps this forest also had ninja fish? Ha, that would be quite the thing to see... Or eat for that matter. All the more reason to fish.
In this peaceful instance, the Arcosian had thought to himself. 'Hmm.. Now do I fry these or try something else.'
Defrosch would then sense a power level somewhere nearby, but he payed little attention to it, it wasn't all that high anyway. Besides, fishing was serious business that required focus... Or patience, considering its very possible that people have blasted entire lakes into nothingness instead.
Eventually, a human- wait no, a Saiyan had arrived in the clearing near the pond...? Or at least they looked like a Saiyan. Their ki, despite how small it seemed at the moment, didn't have that same level of aggression that a Saiyan would have. This signature was odd. It was similar in flow to that of Etoru or Articho... Perhaps this one was also a hybrid?
"Um... Hi?" Nailed it.
Defrosch would raise an eyebrow to the new arrival as he moved to cast his fishing line again.
Plink. Into the water it goes.

The Arcosian greeted Raisu. Raisu raised his hand waved. Good! They hadn't begun shooting at each other already. That was always a good thing. It mean that they could talk for some time. Raisu always liked talking to new folks. Especially those of clearly extraterrestrial origin. They usually had the most interesting stories. Or led to the most interesting occurrences. Or the most interesting fights. They were just interesting in general. Especially Arcosians. Raisu had only ever met one other: Polar. Focusing, Raisu could tell the Arcosian was about half as strong as Polar, but that meant little. Raisu briefly wondered if this one had hidden layers of power like his other Arcosian acquaintance.
Raisu came closer to the Arcosian, a grin on his face as he did.
“Fishing, eh? Are they biting today?”
Raisu asked this, trying to make conversation. Perhaps he was being a little too straight forward, but he was in a good mood.

Defrosch tilted his head in slight confusion at this new arrival. While he didn't exactly mind the apparent nonchalance that this supposed Half-Saiyan displayed, it wasn't exactly common that people were so... Casual around someone as abrasive as he was. Because Defrosch was most certainly as smooth as sandpaper in more 'normal' social situations. Even though he was one that liked to be at peace more often than not, he was a warrior at heart, so he found it easier to understand others via combat.
The Arcosian turned his attention back to the lake as he had just got a bite! "Ohp- Here we go!" Within seconds, he had scored another fish! Being fairly strong did make this activity a lot easier, after all.
"Yeah, I've got a few." He nodded towards the little cooler bucket he had some fish stored in. "Thought I'd be lucky enough to see some of the rumored ninjas around here if I stick around as well. Heh." He'd totally try and spar with them if he had the chance.

The Arcosian seemed confused over Raisu’s presence. He couldn’t blame him. It wasn’t every day you ran into someone in the forest, much less a hybrid. But, sometimes the most unexpected things are the best things. At least the two of them were having a civil conversation so far. The man caught another fish, a large one, pulling it out of the water as if it were nothing. He must be rather strong. Of course, Raisu could tell that much from the ki signature.
The man confirmed that the fish had been biting, nodding to his bucket of fish. Impressive, noted Raisu. He was quite the fisherman. Raisu wished he was half as skilled in the art of mundane fishing. But he didn’t need to do that anymore.
“Hunting for lunch, are we?”
Raisu stepped closer to the pond and dropped to his knees in front of him. His eyes ran over the water, looking for fish. There, he spotted one. Not a bad size. Raisu extended his hand and closed his eyes. In his mind’s eye, he envision a hand scooping the fish out of the water. Raisu heard the slight splash of the water as it rose, and he opened his eyes to look at the fish. It dangled there for a moment, helpless.
“Not a bad catch…” he said as he lowered the fish back into the water, “There’s no sport in that.”

"Mm? Lunch? Some'n like that.... Yeah." Defrosch set the newly caught fish into the bucket, counting up what he had caught so far. Seven fish or so. Solid effort!
It seems as though the Arcosian's track record of meeting reasonable and civil folk outside of a warzone was set to keep running on at this point. He wondered how long this was going to last. At least this way he'll eventually find socializing easier maybe?
Defrosch shrugs his shoulders. "Honestly, I think its a good exercise in patience. The whole food thing is basically a bonus." He watched on as this strange hybrid stepped closer the pond as well. At which point they would close their eyes and wait for a moment, only to catch a fish bare handed. Defrosch made a note to try out that method some time as well. He just found the method he was currently using to be more fun at the moment. "So. You're quite skilled eh? What with catchin' one of them slippery things bare handed an' all mystical like that."
Sure enough, a normal Earthling would be able to perform similar some tricky feats with training, but one that was clearly part Saiyan? Their low power level didn't add up... Literally. Even the lowest of the low among those with Saiyan genes was had a power level of 600-ish... Either this person was really unlucky, or they had managed to learn how to lower their power like an Arcosian is trained to after birth! Yes, that could be it. "I mean, you must be, with a power level thats... Apparently rather low." Now all thats left is to subliminally test his theory...

The Arcosian spoke of his fishing as a type of exercise in patience. Raisu nodded. Interesting. Raisu had his own tests of patience at times. Such as the mindfulness of breathing exercises he partook in at times. It certainly tried his patience. Many things did these days. Of course, he tried his hardest to keep calm. But his Saiyan heritage was at the forefront of his mind these days. How conflicted that made him feel. It was almost as if he were betraying his Earthling nature. To indulge in the impulses of his Saiyan blood was almost sinful.
The Arcosian seemed almost impressed by his telekinesis. Raisu grinned at this, satisfied. He'd learned this skill for such a reason. It was one of the uses that he had to look forward to. The Arcosian spoke of power levels. Did he think Raisu was hiding his true power? Well, he was right. But Raisu wouldn't let him know quite yet. He'd play with the Arcosian a bit more.
"Power level? What's that?"
Raisu put a confused look on his face, all the while slowly letting his ki rise.

This was a rather odd situation for this Arcosian to be a part of. Yes, Quite odd indeed. It took Defrosch a few moments to realize that the hybrid's ki was indeed rising. Defrosch snorted to himself. For the hybrid to feign ignorance without hesitation like that was quite telling on its own- suspicious even. At least to Defrosch... Proven even moreso when his apparent level of ki would in fact double. "Ehh. Its quite self explanatory... Power level, level of power, strength... What most usually say is that its an understanding of 'ki' and all that." Defrosch sighs. "Goodness knows its what far too many people needlessly pride themselves on." He didn't say this as if he wasn't guilty of it himself. In fact, he was fully aware how proud he was of his own strength. Strength of mind, that is. "I reckon its better to have a bit more brains than brawn though. Seriously, what use is the brawn if ya brain can't make it work? Not all that much, from what I've seen..."
Plink.
Another fishing line cast.
"Unfortunately, sometimes the brain gets caught up in the moment as well..."
Defrosch paused for a moment, somewhat lost in thought. He remembered his frustration flaring up during the SSE invasion, he was embarrassed that he couldn't keep his emotions in check, but thats what wounded pride and the feeling of uselessness does to people. Arcosian instincts aren't all that great either...

Raisu nodded as the Arcosian explained power levels. Yes, Raisu already knew all that. But it was fun to play dumb, if even for a moment. Kami knew he didn't get much of a chance to do that. It was almost relaxing, in its own way. Maybe he should try this more often, see how other people react. But, he'd had his fun. With that, he dropped all pretense of hiding his ki.
[Ki Suppression Off]
Raisu could agree that some people focused too much on, but he could see why: might made right in the world. If you wanted to do anything, you had to be strong. Sad, but it was the way the world worked. Nothing could be done about it, except getting stronger. Brains were important, but brawn did the talking.
Even the mind got caught in the moment, he said. The mind was an interesting thing. Raisu had been using it more and more lately. As he was about to do so.
'Yeah, I agree that the mind is important', thought Raisu, projecting his voice into the Arcosian's head.
Telepathy used!

Aha! So the theory was indeed correct, a lucky guess. Perhaps if their tail was hidden somehow, Defrosch would've legitimately mistaken them for a full human at a glance, and wondered where that aggression in their spirit came from. This hybrid had quite the impressive amount of oomph behind them in terms of strength regardless compared to most Earthlings. It also seemed as though something else was being held back. Defrosch wasn't really sure as to what, if anything. "Heheh, hiding quite the kick there, eh?" The Arcosian smirked, looking back to the pond for a moment...
Only to be interrupted by a telepathic message.
Kais above did he absolutely hate this ability. His expression visibly soured upon recieving the message. "Bbbbrrbgh... I swear if Bing up'n taught people how to do that..." Defrosch let out a sharp frustrated exhale. "Mind not doing that unless ya have to? I don't have the best opinion of that... Mind mail thing or whatever its really called. Telemetry or whatever... Bothersome stuff."

Raisu had indeed been hiding his true power. The Arcosian didn’t know the half of it. In fact, he only knew a fourth of it. The weights saw to that much. People always thought he was weaker than he really was. It was annoying at times, especially when he didn’t want that. Being called a girl, being called weak… It got to him after a time.
“Oh man, I’m hiding more than you think.”
He had to say it. Just to let the man know. He was petty about things like that. call him a child or the like, but it was just how he was.
The Arcosian expressed dismay over Raisu’s telepathy. Raisu frowned. He hadn’t meant to offend.
“Sorry, won’t do it again. And who is Bing? I learned this from someone else.”

Defrosch shook his head out, making a comical 'bleh' face. He really didn't like the whole telepathy deal. "Don't worry 'bout it. Though for what its worth, its a neat trick." He looked back out to the pond, just as the hybrid mentioned that he was hiding more power within him. "You're even stronger than that y'say? Hm. Cool." He nodded in approval.
Well isn't that something. Someone that would just take that as fact?
"I mean, I'm doing much of the same, its not all that hard to believe. The whole bit where you had it suuuuper low? That was weird and kinda unbelievable... To me anyway. I mean, seeing your tail made me think it was odd. Maybe hide it as well just to screw with people more?" Defrosch let out a mischievous little chuckle. "Anyways, as for who Bing is? Well, he could kick both of our asses without trying, for one. Hes alright though. I only met him cuz of a rogue brain-message. Kinda silly how that played out."

The Arcosian said not to worry about it. Raisu nodded. He had to agree with what the alien said : it was a neat trick indeed. Raisu was glad to have learned it. It was a good skill that came out of a weird situation. A very weird one. He could hardly remember the circumstances that led him to it.
Raisu was indeed stronger. Though it must be hard to believe because of the weights. Maybe he would show the Arcosian sometime. It would be good to take them off.
Apparently this Bing guy was strong. Good to hear he wasn't an ass. Kami knew that Earth needed less of those.
"Hey, I'm Raisu by the way. Nice to meet you. "

"Raisu eh? Cool. I'm Defrosch. Its always good to run into someone whos first action isn't yellin' at me for no reason. Or whatever dumb stuff people think its cool to do these days... Its never a fun time." Defrosch shrugs. Though as much as he seems to dislike having his peace disrupted, he is fairly adept in dealing with those that push him too far without knowing what he can do. "Never a fun time for the odd dummy that decides its ok to piss me off, I mean... Though now that I think about it, most people initially freak out when they see me as well..."
Defrosch squints at Raisu. "Now either you're one a' them really chill accepting types or you're hidin' some knowledge as well as power~" Quite the assumption, but he won't know if its correct unless Raisu is honest or tries to lie and slips up.
