I..I don't know...Is their an incentive to make people post faster? Cause I want that lol Like any mechanic that can fix RL probs would be flipping fantastic. lol But as an increase to the LMB..I dunno..I mean like...I haven't finished anything to get a bonus for me personally lol Only thing that I've finished is a zeni solo and theirs no bonus for that lol I'm like..Kinda on the fence about increasing it like..I can see both sides and like both sides of the equation. As for things such as a villain boost, I agree with Habana I think it may get easily exploited and it may become up to staff to deem if a 'change of heart' is approval or not, which I know would be a giant pain for the staff. And using Natto as a 'Well he got this powerful in short time' He literally writes A TON for a living so he's a great exception to the 'getting strong quickly' debate in my opinion lol Maybe for like...Plot type stuff...have it be like..tier based for Saga's or something? Like Tier 1 Sage would be for low level Pl's tier 2 saga would be in a certain amount of Pl and tier 3 saga be among the top contenders. But then theirs the problem of well limiting people who would like to be in those sagas but cant because of their PL difference so I dunno lol To finish I'm quoting a great american. "That's all I have to say about that." lol

As a new player and someone who RPs a lot, what I think would be better would be some form of quasi-regular events for new players. A lot of RP sites have big site wide events with huge rewards, but low level players know that they're contending with the vets in these and even if the challenge is split between levels, the rewards scale and so it always seems like you're being punished for being low level.
Instead of just giving a boost, why not run events in locations every few months that encourage low PL players to get involved in the game with other people around their level, thus building IC relationships and giving them a taste of co-operative and/or competitive play. By having set upper and lower limits to who can join (which would need to be justified ICly obviously) means that you can control who is participating and limit it to the newer players. That way you're giving them a social boost, but only if they seek out and get involved in events on the site.

How about a way to choose? For instance, someone wishes to level fast, so the player writes at the start of their thread that they wish to gain faster PL. If someone wishes not to gain better results, they not include such.
I am thinking in a token of some sort that can be used, perhaps... so if someone wishes to level up, they use their tokens, and whom not wishing can just leave them... Maybe just under a certain limit they would work, or would be issued by staff? Or being something someone can buy and would give a maximum only? Like, x2 token gives twice the points, maximum 100?
Princess' idea is good too. :3 I like the idea of that.

Not sure about this whole villain boost thing, seems very exploitable, and we'd have to put trust into the players to not exploit it. Perhaps a villain can get a boost when in a DE thread? I dunno.
The TMB does sound like a good solution, but, as mentioned earlier, I would like to see group gains upped for lower tier people too. I feel this would encourage more people to roleplay with others instead of doing solos. And also help the lower tier people gain PL, amek friends, rivals, and develop their own plots with others.

Not enough info for me to form an opinion on your second suggestion.

Not enough info for me to form an opinion on your second suggestion. I threw random ideas between sessions of university work... I was thinking on caps for the multipliers mostly. For instance, a cap on such, so the maximum would be a set amount of power to get - for instance, 100 pl tops in one thread. Thus, less for more powerful characters. I still got little in my head to make a lot of a working opinion...

I understand the want for a good villain, but I'm against a villain bonus for the same reason I'm against Milestones as they currently stand, I'd feel like it'd force people into RP they don't want for OOC gains.
Being a villain should be it's own reward. It's much more fun to be a villain as part of a group-oriented goal as well, which this TMB would innately help with as it's a super-charged LMB only for smaller PLs in group threads.
I'm wary of us using exceptions to the norm like Natto and other quick-climbers as our metric, because they usually use our system to its fullest and that has only happened in sustained fashion two or three times in the site's history. I'm going to try to compile the average-WC-per-player-per-week over the coming days and compare that to the WCs needed for both to reach a milestone of 100,000 PL (it's going to be in the several tens of thousands certainly) and then we can form a better judgement on just what most people's progression looks like.
In my mind it's a question of creating meaningful competitiveness among most of the playerbase which will not otherwise happen for the majority, versus allowing for the possible gratification of gains that take longer.

I am a little surprised that no one has brought up instead of a TMB just starting people off at a slightly higher Ki #. Instead of starting at the racial we have increase them by a digit so say Alien A would be 4k-5k plus BP and history. {The number is just off top of my head I didn't look it up} Bumping up the starting line can and will help people down the road.

That is actually already being discussed too, Mimikku, to be activated in concert with this TMB.

There's the e-RPG safety vault! xD When the villain becomes good and join the party he loses all the buffs! Hahaha! Just joking, but that could be something to work with! Hahaha! Using demigra influence sort of stuff maybe?

I really don't mind. I'm not particularly here to boost my power level to crazy heights. I'm kind of only here for story. I guess it could help lower-leveled members who want to gain power level fast.

I'd rather it not. But I do like Kaula's suggestion of possible social threads getting a bit more in the future to make it more preferred to solos.
