The saiyan army was getting stronger and stronger with the passing of the days. Natto, Aspa and Tomoroko were doing a great job in offering trainings to them. The tournament idea was pretty much staled as they were focusing on knowing how good the middle-class actually were, in order to promote them to elite and then either invite them to join Natto’s Force, or allow them to form a squad of their own, with the only restriction of Natto appointing their Captain and Lieutenant, since it was necessary in order to maintain a good balance on the squad leadership the same way it was done within Natto’s own squad; Aspa had the qualities that complemented Natto’s own.
However, the tournament idea got stuck on his head, and made him have an awesome idea: He hadn’t tested his hard-light hologram of his new gravity chamber yet, and it was a perfect opportunity to do some crazy tournament like training with an enhanced gravity of 70G! The idea made him laugh in excitement as he walked through the corridors of his royal spaceship, the Star Javelin, straight towards the training hub. The moment he got there, he went for the control panel. – Okay! I’ve got some configuration to do… But while I think about it, I should already turn on the gravity! Therefore my body can start getting used to it! Hehehe! – he said to himself, as he pressed the button, setting the gravity to 70G, which immediately put him into some sort of huge pressure. – Wow! That’s really something! Hahaha! – he shouted as, he felt his legs shaking a little bit. He was still doing more or less fine by just standing, but 70G was definitely something out of the ordinary. He was almost reaching half of the gravity machine’s full capability, and if he kept on going on such a rhythm he would soon enough be able to train in the incredible 150G, and that would do miracles to his training and improvements.
Having the gravity on, he turned towards the configuration screen. First and foremost he would configure the canary: a large coliseum like arena, with a huge stand all around the area. The ground of the arena was made of hard dirt, without anything special to it, and the scenery was still Planet Vegeta, with both of its suns shining bright on the skies. The place was full of saiyans from the database, therefore Natto could see most of his accquaitances and friends being replicated with the hard-light, which made him really impressed. – It’s as good as Zucceta’s gravity chamber! Hahaha! Now I’m pretty satisfied! Can’t wait to start battling! But I have to configure all the contestants… How many would it be? I’m thinking about… Maybe… Four rounds? Yeah! That looks good enough! Now… About the contestants… - he touched his chin, with a thoughtful expression, as he tried to come up with good ideas, that would differ from saiyans, since he did want to fight some variety of races. Then he smirked, as the idea struck his head and he nodded in agreement.
Then, Natto started configuring the fighters with an excited smile on his face, as he quickly selected traits, names and skills for his opponents! He wanted to do some pretty crazy training and, on his own mind, he decided that he would have to enhance the gravity after each fight, with only a short fifteen minutes rest. After this long and exhausting training session he would pretty much be beaten to the pulp, but it would most definitely be worthy, and he was giggling with the idea. He took a while to configure the players and that helped him get rather used to the gravity of 70G, at least while standing still; it would still take its tools on his body during the fight, of course, but much less than how things would work on the next fights.
The moment he pressed okay, a new saiyan appeared on the middle of the arena. He was quite short, fat, and had this small spiky hair and his name was Dacku, and he was the announcer of the tournament, as Natto wanted the whole show to be done. The young saiyan commander chuckled with his appearance and then laughed when he started talking. – Fellow warriors! Tonight we will start the Greatest Tournament of the Galaxy, where only the strongest of their races were selected to fight! That’s pretty cool, ahn?! Hahahaha! – he said, making the crowd go crazy. Somehow, the illusionary Aspa, Tomoroko and Habana held flags with Natto’s face in a super-deformed art style and shouted supporting sentences, to motivate him, making the saiyan laugh with it, as he was having a lot of fun with the hologram Natto’s Force. – On my right side, the proud of Vegeta! The strongest saiyan to fight on our royal highness army! Please give a round of applauses to the Commander-in-Chief of the Saiyan Solar Empire Stationary Defense Army and Captain of the squad known as Natto’s Force! The super saiyan Natto!!! – he said, making the crowd go even crazier.
Natto took a few steps forwards and waved to the illusionary crowd. After that, Dacku pointed towards the other side of the arena. A double iron gate opened, and from there walked an intimidating 8 foot tall Namekian with some sort of spiky Mohawk on the middle of his head. He had purple eyes and the patches on his body where deep red. He wore nothing but red wristbands, orange trousers and the traditional namekian footwear. – And to my left side, the purge of the enemies of Namek! The avenger of green! The leader of the Namekian Resistance and killer of Virtual Poi, Tsumuru!!! – Dackus announced and, when he mentioned that he was the killer of the monstrous android, the crowd got silent, being speechless with such an statement. – My fellow warriors! This is the bloody arena of Vegeta! And this fight is to the death! Ready… Set…! AND GO! – and, as he finished his sentence, Dackus flew away from the arena, into a safe spot, to allow Natto and Tsumuru to go all out on each other.
– Hehehe! This is gonna be fun! – he said, and the namekian chuckled. – I will eat you alive, saiyan! – he said with a rather cocky tone, as he cracked his neck and fists. – That we will see! Get ready, namekian! – he shouted, as he charged forward. The namekian responded by doing the same, and after a split of a second, they started exchanging blows. Natto had settled Tsumuru’s power level to be near his own, since it was only the preliminary round, and that meant a power level of 150.000, meaning that, even though Natto would still have the upper hand, it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park.
They seemed to be even at the first few seconds, with both of them smirking to each other as they blocked and counter blow after blow. Then, when Tsumuru left an opening, Natto seized it and landed a powerful punch to his face, sending him backwards, dragging his feet on the dirt. – Strong attack, saiyan! But that was a lucky strike!! – and, after saying that, he fired a laser beam towards Natto. The young sayian took a back step and readied his left hand. When the attack was about to hit him, he slapped it away with the back of his left hand, sending it towards the ground. Immediately after that, the namekian rushed forward, and the exchange of blows started over again. Almost like before, Tsumuru couldn’t keep up with Natto’s speed and skill and another breach was created and the saiyan seized now with a powerful knee strike to his chin, sending him flying upwards adrift. Natto quickly used his Rapid Movement skill to reappear behind him, without giving any chance of defense and then he sledgehammered him to the ground, creating a small crater when he hit it.
Natto slowly floated back to the ground as the namekian got back on his fit, gritting his sharp teeths. – Was I lucky again?! Or am I just a way better than you?! – he said, with a cocky smirk. The namekian growled in anger before responding. – You conceited bastard! I defeated Virtual Poi! I will not be bested by the likes of you! – he said, as he charged again towards Natto, stretching his arm, using the same skill Xylo did in the past; But this time the young saiyan as ready and, as the arm approached, he side stepped out of its way and grabbed it, pulling the namekian out of the ground and towards him. – What?! – he exclaimed as he got pulled. – Hahaha! I already fought the likes of you! And the same technique won’t work again on a super elite! – he said, chuckling a bit.
Natto countered with a fierce elbow strike to Tsumuru’s temple, in a rotating type of strike from the above, aiming to send him towards the ground again, while also using the kinetic energy from the pull. The attack worked perfectly and the namekian hit the ground again, screaming in pain as he got hit by the massive damage of the attack. The moment he hit the ground, Natto kicked his head, sending him rolling over the ground. But Tsumuru wasn’t going to be defeated yet, and as he finished rolling, he somersaulted back, reassuming his fighting stance, staring at Natto with rage on his purple eyes. Natto was all for the play and he cracked his fists. – Did you really defeat Virtual Poi?! You reeeally don’t seem like much, truth be told! – he said, provoking the illusionary adversary, that was configured to be rather angry and impulsive.
The namekian just cursed him with quite a lot of terrible derogatory terms, going as far as to call him a damn monkey and all, and charged a large purple energy sphere on his hands, firing it towards Natto. The saiyan responded by waiting until the very last moment. Natto concentrated his energy to allow him to move faster than possible, while leaving an image of himself behind him, in order to make Tsumuru think that he managed to hit him; that was his Afterimage technique. The big explosion took place, and a lot of smoke and dust took over the area. The namekian chuckled, feeling rather victorious as such a hit would cause serious damage to Natto, if it managed to hit, and his eyes saw it hitting. – Serves you right! – he said, chuckling.
However, his happiness wouldn’t last long, as Natto was now flying just above him. On his hands there were two blue-colored energy spheres ready to be fired. – You are too slow! My old mother could dodge that blast! Hahaha! – he said with a cocky smirk on his face, while laughing. The namekian stared at him, unable to believe his own eyes, but it was already too late to react, as Natto started throwing his hands towards him, one after the other, as he rapidly fired many energy blasts.
– Enjoy my Finish Breaker!!! – he shouted as he fired the powerful barrage of fiery blue colored energy spheres at Tsumuru, hitting him straight on. A big explosion took place, and luckily the hard-light was configured to absorb such impacts and avoid damage to the ship. After the smoke cleared, Tsumuru was there, lying defeated on the floor, without any trace of life left on his illusionary body; Natto had fired about ten energy spheres at him, which was more than enough to settle the bout. With that, the young saiyan landed back on the ground, and turned towards the crowd, raising both of his arms with the glory of victory upon his shoulders. Dackus flew back towards the arena, landing near Tsumuru’s body. – It’s done!!! Our champion, Natto, won the preliminary round of the Greatest Tournament on the whole Universe, by defeating the namekian Tsumuru!!! This guy is a beast!!! – he said, making Natto laughed. ”Okay! Maybe I made him too excited and that’s too much ego for me!! Hahaha… I should reconfigure him a bit for the next fight!” he decided, as the scenery started fading away due to the programing of the training session.
Natto was back to his ship and, for his relief there wasn’t any trace of damage to it. ”That’s good! I would be really pissed if I had damaged anything! This hard-light thing is quite impressive! I just have to be careful not to go overboard with the fights!” he thought to himself as he walked towards the machine. The first thing he did was to lower the excitement and “fanboyness” of Dacku; as fun as it was, he didn’t feel too comfortable with that. Following that, Natto turned off the 70G gravity. He did pretty well with it, but he was now feeling the results; his body was rather sore, and he was breathing heavily. ”That was better than I expected… But now I will have to enhance it to 80G and I don’t know how I’ll be able to handle myself… Nonetheless, I still can’t transform into a super saiyan until at least the semifinals! Otherwise I will be cheating on my training…” he decided, as he turned off the gravity.
The relief was instantaneous as the pressure came down from 70G to 1G, making him laugh a bit and walk towards the dinning chamber. He was going to eat, rehydrate and rest for about fifteen minutes before getting back into the training hub and continue with his training at an even higher gravity with an even stronger opponent. ”My next opponent is not going to be easy as the namekian… But that’s good! If I want to improve, I have to aim for higher challenges!” he thought as he got ready to eat a large chunk of meat.
His training had just begun.
