I see a lot of potential for an SSE branch. It would mean getting rid of the Cacumber/Wasteland/ACS banners though, turning those into Vegetan subboards, and adding in the others. The image allowances only go down to sub-boards, not for sub-sub-boards. And I would need President Bao to let me know where he changes the category images, because I haven't found them anywhere on the style sheet and the places I usually change those on my test site he hasn't used. For symmetry purposes, we could add 1 for AE, making each category (Earth, Solar Saiyan Empire, ACS) have 4 graphic banners. While I think those changes to SSE and ACS would be interesting, I'm against adding a Sol System for a few reasons. First, we already have the very beautifully done sub-board images for Earth. Like an SSE makeover, these images will have to be removed if we make a Sol System with Earth and Mars. Tying into this, the Earth areas have very powerful imagery from the shows. There is no canonical colonization of Mars or Luna, and any one we manage to do, newcomers would not be visually familiar with those. I know this is the future, but Earth has remained kind of a political and technological backwater -- there is no 'Earth Empire'. Having that visual tie-in with the lore from Dragon Ball, with the settings, is hugely important. I mean, I could make a banner for a Mars Colony and for a Luna City on the moon or some such, I just think it might be a head-scratcher for newcomers.

Well, I just figured out how and where Bao changes the category images. So the technical issue is no longer a problem.

I mean, I could make a banner for a Mars Colony and for a Luna City on the moon or some such, I just think it might be a head-scratcher for newcomers. Sort-of long semi-rant incoming. I was not aware of the image issue with sub-subboards so yeah fucking with earths board structure in that vein is probably bad. What I cant quite agree with is the idea that Earth is a 'technological backwater' in the series the only thing that Earth does not quite have going for it is power, its people are pretty weak overall. But tech wise in spite of being almost totally isolated from the rest of the universe Earth managed to be pretty on-par with the outside forces, once they had a bit of a kickstart into interstellar travel(Kami's ship) Dr.BRiefs was able to replicate the technology with EASE producing multiple ships that were in fact MORE capable then what he was given(Goku's ship was faster than Kami's in spite of being biult in under a year A YEAR) they possess techmology completely unseen throughout the rest of the universe(capsule tech) Bulma was able to replicate saiyan armor from sight alone.
And then there is the biggest comparison, 'android' technology. We see one canon example of androids from the outter universe, and its from the biggest superpower in the entire setting the PTO, the power house that rules the universe with an iron fist... and it amounts to slapping scrap metal onto Frieza. Earth by comparison has cyborgs almost utterly indistingushable from true humanity(18 and 19) full machines capable of actual thought (Androids 8, 19, and 16) full machines capable of emotion (16, 8) and a complete brain transfer into a mechanized body(Gero himself) not to even mention Cell a fully artifical non-machine living being.
Politically I cant say much for Earths backwateryness but honestly they seem to have there shit together a lot better than the rest of the univese which was until Goku happened ruled by the iron first of multiple space-dictators. Earth is canonically ruled by a monarchy but we know for a fact that the King in Goku's time was a genuinely good man even a friend of Gokus.
As for the addition of Mars/Moon being a 'head scratcher' I'd have to disagree on that in the vein of the fac tthat places like Kanassa and the Brenchaian Gemini exist, along with all the other proposed new planets, all of those make LESS sense then Mars and Moon outposts for Earth when a new member becomes aware of the 2000 year gap. It to me is far MORE head scratching that the Earth has seemingly NO ability to expand when they are already quite ahead of present day Earth.
tl;dr Earth isnt really a backwater from what we have seen. But I do agree that losing the image-boards would be a major loss since they are so nice. Vi-Poi
